About this episode
Fantasy football tight ends are heating up as Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season looms — injury reports could be your secret weapon. Sam LaPorta’s back and firing on all cylinders after recovering from last year’s back issue and a recent hip tweak; he’s a top-tier TE lock. George Kittle’s Achilles rehab is ahead of schedule, and while not officially confirmed, he’s trending toward Week 1 play at age 33. Tucker Kraft’s ACL recovery looks solid, but expect a cautious start — still a TE1 contender. Tyler Warren’s groin is healed and he’s primed for a strong TE1 campaign. Kenyon Sadiq? A risky TE2 with a hernia and stiff competition in New York. Don’t sleep on these guys — their availability could make or break your first matchup.

It's September 7th. Welcome in. This is NFL News Today, where the league meets AI. I'm Corey with the story. Alright, let's talk fantasy football tight ends. Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season is right around the corner, and if you're in a league that drafts early, you're probably already locked in. For the rest of you setting up your teams this week, pay attention to these injury reports. We've got some key guys coming back from injuries, and their availability could make or break your first match up. From La Porta, the lion stand out tight end is looking good. He's recovered from that back issue last year and even shook off a recent hip injury. He's back at practice, and word is there's no real concern for his week 1 status. After a strong rookie year and a solid follow-up, he's definitely a top tier tight end to consider. Meanwhile, George Kiddell of the 49ers is making good progress on his torn Achilles. He's ahead of schedule and was seen practicing without limitations. While his week 1 status isn't officially confirmed, it looks like he's on track to play.
Even at 33, he's proven he can still ball. Packer's Tucker craft is also returning from an ACL tier and has been practicing well. However, there's a hint he might be on a pitch count early on. This makes him a bit of a gamble, but his past performance still puts him in the TU1 conversation. Finally, Colt's Tyler Warren is back at practice after dealing with a groin issue, so he should be good to go. He had a strong showing last season and is expected to be a solid TE1. The Jets' Kenyans to Deek, however, is a bit more of a question mark due to a hernia and a crowd-or-receiving core. He might be a shaky TEE2 to start the season.
