Una fuga nella notte, da Zara verso Trieste, a bordo di un piroscafo carico di paura, silenzio e speranza. È la storia di un ragazzo di poco più di tredici anni che attraversa la guerra da solo, tra bombardamenti, attacchi aerei e la paura di non rivedere più la propria famiglia.
Nella seconda storia restiamo su quella stessa terra di confine con la storia di una famiglia che, senza mai spostarsi, si è ritrovata a vivere in quattro paesi diversi nel corso di un secolo. A Portorož, tra lingue che si mescolano e identità che si trasformano, una casa diventa l’unico punto fermo in un mondo che cambia continuamente.
