C'è un medico che per tutta la vita ha voluto curare quello che agli altri sembrava incurabile. E poi, all'improvviso, si ritrova a Leopoli, dentro un'altra ferita: quella della guerra.
Roberto racconta il passaggio da una medicina di ricerca e di ricostruzione all'incontro con bambini ucraini segnati nel corpo e nello spirito. In mezzo ci sono la medicina rigenerativa, il trauma, la fatica di reggere tutto questo, ma anche i sorrisi e i legami nati lì.
La seconda storia resta in Ucraina, in un centro immerso nella foresta dove i soldati feriti provano a tornare, almeno per un momento, a una vita possibile.
