The boiling point occurred when Yormark bluntly stated that "Cody Campbell does not run the Big 12," defending a television scheduling model that shifts marquee matchups to Friday nights. Campbell fired back on X, reminding the commissioner that "EVERYTHING RUNS THROUGH LUBBOCK," and pointing out to sports media outlets that the commissioner answers to school presidents and boards.
