Flames Snap Skid, Win Shootout vs Blues

The Calgary Flames snapped back into action at home with a two-to-one shootout win over

the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night.

After a five-game road trip, they grabbed an early lead through Conner's Erie, but the

Blues tied it up in the second period on a Dylan Holloway wrist.

Neither team scored again in regulation or overtime, sending it to the skills competition.

The game turned into a review fest, with the Blues winning three straight coach challenges

to wipe out Flames' goals from Martin Pospicell, Yegor, Sharon Govich, and Joe Fariby.

Shots were close all night, Flames edging the first period 11-8, Blues taking slight

leads later.

Both squads fought hard despite sitting well out of playoff contention, but Calgary showed

more pop and stuck it out through the chaos.

Goalie Devin Cooley stood tall in the shootout, while Fariby and Motveg Gridden converted

their chances to seal the extra point.

This March, just the second time since coach challenges began in the 2015-16 season that

one team nailed three successful reviews in a single game, the first by Edmonton, back

in March 2023.

The Flames, sitting at 27 wins, 34 losses, and 7 overtime losses, returned Friday against

the Florida Panthers at the Saddle Dome.
