Food prices forecast to increase in 2026, with meat leading the way

In the US, overall food prices are expected to increase more slowly in 2026 by around 2.7%, which is near the historical average rate of growth. However, reports from Canada forecast higher overall food price increases, between 4% and 6%, with meat prices specifically predicted to lead the way with increases of 5% to 7%.
