Resident food expert Neil Saavedra talks frozen pizzas, and deep fryers vs Air fryers... Chuck Norris never had an air fryer, because revenge is a dish best served cold...
Also, Ask Handel Anything! Someone asked why Handel is such a dick... I'm guessing he hears that one pretty frequently... At least 2x/day...

put it on a plate?
It's food.
The Friday with Neil Savadra on the Bill Handle Show.
Bill Handle here.
Good morning on a foodie Friday, March 20th.
And at the bottom of the hour it is Ask Handle Anything.
And the big news, Chuck Norris died.
We got the news this morning, 86 years old.
Iran.
Iran is now threatening to target recreational and tourist sites across the world, insisting
it is still building missiles as well as launching them.
And we're three weeks, nearly three weeks into the war.
Prices have gone absolutely berserk all over the world.
You don't want to things I wonder about before we get to foodie Friday and before we make
the announcement is, how does anybody have any money in Iran?
They don't.
I mean, obviously there's nothing, there's, there can't be any business being done
with all of this going on.
So I'm just, I'm just curious about that.
Okay.
Before we get into foodie Friday, we are giving away those tickets, the four pack for Disney
and we are going to accept the phone call number 276 phone call coming in.
Okay.
Not.
All right.
It does seem like that's a lot of phone calls.
How about number nine, Neil, you take it from here.
What's this about?
Nine.
Phone call.
Number nine phone call.
KFI and Disney want to give you a chance to visit Disneyland Resort and make memories
that will last a lifetime.
Of course, it's Disneyland Resort's 70th celebration.
So a lot going on there, great entertainment experiences, all kinds of festive touches.
I was there not long ago last week, it was great.
So a lot of stuff going on there at the park and you can win right now, 805201534, 805201534,
caller number line gets a chance or will win a four pack of one day, one park tickets
to Disneyland park or Disney, California Adventure park, some restrictions apply and things
can change without notice.
Okay.
It is time for foodie Friday with Neil.
We've been talking of frozen pizzas and how much better they are, used to be frozen
pizzas were cardboard and some sauce and cheese on them.
Now Neil gave me a couple of ideas for frozen pizzas that are excellent.
And we have another one now on the table.
I don't know why this has been in the news or the food news so much, but yes, there's
another frozen pizza, but this one has an interesting spin on it.
So there's these high protein foods, we've got other stories coming up on this too, high
protein foods are a big deal right now.
They're popping up everywhere and a lot of this has to do with the GLP ones and that people
want protein in their diet.
So this frozen pizza is based on a fad that became very popular.
The Y-O-U-G-H are is a dough that is created with two ingredients, Greek yogurt and flour,
I think is what it is.
And they build and with the Greek yogurt, you get this extra punch of protein.
So now available at Target are these protein based pizza dough frozen pizzas.
So a gang banger walks into a piece to join and go, yo pizza.
No.
Yeah, because that's how gang bangers sound.
Yeah, that's exactly right, bro.
Bro, yo.
Yeah, bro.
Yeah.
I don't know the gang banger.
So what are these pizzas, non-cheese pizzas or yogurt is added to the crust?
They have regular toppings, it's the dough, it's the dough that is made with yogurt which
gives it an extra boost of protein.
Can you taste the yogurt?
Yeah, there's a little bit of tartness to the dough, I've made this dough before, very
simple.
Just tossing the yogurt in with some flour.
But to have these things popping up in the store just goes to show you two things.
Right now, frozen pizzas are H-O-T hot, they are getting better, the freezing technology
has gotten outstanding and also protein it popping up everywhere.
Okay.
Oh, real quick.
Before we go, I wanted to, you asked me about the, the scofflaw and I didn't have the
specs off the top of my head, but I wanted to tell you that scofflaw is a whiskey, whiskey
bake base drink.
So rye whiskey, driver mooth, fresh lemon juice, grenadine, which is not cherry flavor.
Everybody thinks it's cherry.
Grenadine is pomegranate based.
Orange bitters and a little lemon twist.
So it's dry, it's got a little bit of tartness to it.
Great drink.
A little bit of smoked cod in there.
No.
Just to mix it up.
No.
I have had a salmon, I had a salmon martini once and it was fantastic.
On a bagel.
No.
But you know, the problem is the bagel, it gets really soggy and it's just not as good.
We're going to come back and talk about air frying versus deep frying because that is
a thing that, it's a thing and it's my thing.
And you know, when I've talked about this before, but we're going to reshare it.
Don't go away.
This is handle on the handle on the handle on the handle so yeah, I know handle on the
radio.
Yeah.
It's the, yeah, I'm thinking of handle on the lot of morrow and I have to, yeah, it's
handle on the barbecue tomorrow.
We'll talk about that coming up.
Yeah, I know.
I'm such a pro.
Okay.
If I am a 640 bill handle here, good morning.
It is a Friday, March 20th, foodie Friday news that is breaking on no news that's breaking
the war in Iran is expanding the, I think the only change is that gas is now a full dollar
or more expensive than it was since the beginning of the worth three, almost three weeks ago.
The Iran is now threatening to target recreational and tourist sites all over the world.
But mainly the Middle East and says it's still building missiles.
We don't know if that's true or not because the administration, well, Donald Trump said
that the war was one first hour.
It was one and we're going to get out of there soon.
Okay, hopefully we will, okay, back we go, just more fun than a barrel of the straws
on camel's backs at the tip of the, okay, you never met a metaphor that you didn't like.
But I didn't screw up.
Yeah, little malapops there.
Okay, let's do this.
Just like a banana and get the heck out of here.
Yeah.
Okay, foodie Friday until the bottom of the hour when we get right into Ask Handle Anything,
Neil, air frying versus deep frying, I no longer deep fry.
Mainly because it's a hassle, you know, heating up the oil where air frying, I just toss it
into the air fryer, toss the food in and it is crispy and wonderful, even to the point
where it tells me, take 10 minutes, 12 minutes in the air fryer, I put in the microwave
oven and it's a minute, minute and a half.
And then in the air fryer for three minutes and it's crispy and I'm done.
How's African-Venient?
You have zero patience, you're the only one I know that taps his foot in front of a
microwave.
Come on, come on.
That's true.
Okay, so frying, whether it's a deep frying or shallow frying, is a wet cooking method,
obviously because you're using oil.
And air fryer's function, like a miniature convection oven, convection oven, and that
is a dry cooking method.
However, when you shrink the size of the oven, these air frayers are quite small, they
have a little basket in there.
You can circulate that hot air quickly and it makes food crisp and a lot of people don't
know this, but deep frying is actually dehydrating, strangely enough, even though it's a wet
method of cooking.
It is so hot between 325 and 375 degrees is your cooking oil that it's actually boiling
the water out of there and with the escaping of the liquid, the water in the food makes
a crispy.
So air fryer does that as well, it's dehydrating the food by circulating hot air around it.
So the reason why people have switched to it is like you said, Bill, it's incredibly
easy.
And probably the best way next to actually deep frying frozen foods, and healthier, it's
right there.
Yeah.
And a lot healthier, yeah, but it's that's major difference is that when you break
down the fat content, which is another reason for health, those that are health conscious,
French fries, air fried, the calories are 116 per 71 grams calories and fat is 4 grams.
If you deep fry them, that 116 calorie count jumps to 29 and that 4 grams of fat jumps
to 11.
So you can see how a chicken cutlet, air fried, one teaspoon of oil, 230 calories, 16 grams
of fat, and cutlet, 550 calories, and 52 grams of fat because the way you cook it, the
amount of oil that sits on it, even if you dab it off afterwards, all these things
and the lower the temperature, the more oil it absorbs.
And there are plenty of people out there that just don't care about calories.
I don't want to mention what you're looking at me, I'm looking at Will.
Okay.
Yesterday, weren't you at the gym yesterday, Will?
Yes, I was.
Thank you.
Were you looking, were you eating a sandwich looking at the people working out?
Well, I do sometimes reward myself with some, with some snack, like a little cinnamon
roll.
Yeah.
A little cinnamon roll.
Okay.
All right, before we bail, I want to mention, well, I'll do the mention about our broadcast
tomorrow, Neal's broadcast tomorrow, when we come back and start Ask Handle Anything.
You're listening to Bill Handle, on demand from KFI AM640.

KFI, handle here.
It is a Friday morning, March 20th, time for handle, ask handle anything.
Before we do that, really quickly, Neil is broadcasting tomorrow, the fork reported
in my house.
We had some extraordinary donors for Catarina's Club, and so they donated their way into
a barbecue that we're holding for them, and the morning crew is going to be there.
That's never happened before either.
It's going to be a fun broadcast.
The first six colors will not be invited to join us, nor will these number seven through
infinity.
Also, will that be invited?
Why do that to people?
Because it's fun.
Shout out to Chef Benotto, who's going to be grilling a big green egg, wild fork foods,
of course, Anaheim White House.
It's going to be big doons.
It is big doons.
Okay.
Just two din, and I think we're going to stream it also.
Now, it's time for ask handle anything, and you know how it works, so let's get right
to it.
Sam, who's in for Kono today, first question, Sam, the Sam even know that we were doing
this.
Sorry.
I was busy doing the, now a bunch of other stuff at the same time, we'll get that up
for you.
Okay.
And the power went out.
Did you see all the studios went dark?
No.
Yeah.
We just have the power out.
It's all struggling through that.
Give me one second.
I got it.
All right.
Sam, do you have it?
That's your, that's your patience right there.
Of course.
Did I ever tell you, Bill, that once Chuck Norris made a happy meal cry?
No.
I did.
Yeah.
You have not stopped at all with this, even a little bit.
It bugs, it makes the right people laugh and the right people hate me.
Yeah.
We're talking, of course, we're talking about the fact that Chuck Norris has died.
I don't know if you've picked up on that news.
And this is our tribute.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Great Chuck Norris jokes.
He's 86 years old and we've never, well, God bless them for dying.
Well, no, don't you think, don't you think people like Chuck Norris are basically
indestructible or indestructible or not destructible or destructible or not?
You know, he can cook rice in 30 seconds.
Yes, I do.
All right.
Let's do it.
Ask handle anything.
All right.
Sam, first question.
Hey, Bill.
I got a bone to pick with you talking about no life and I'm sure you'll agree you have
no life.
I mean, how many people go to Costco for four or five times a week, at least Amy King has
an annual pass to Disneyland, which is far more entertaining than Costco.
Yeah.
First of all, you're wrong.
Second of all, that's you're, you're not telling the truth.
I do not go to Costco for five times a week.
I go three times a week.
So don't exaggerate.
You actually called me the other day and I'm like, what are you?
Are you eating?
Yeah.
I'm doing samples at Costco.
Yes.
True.
I'm like, wow.
It's absolutely true.
I was calling my friend, Savile, where he called me and he goes, where are you?
I'm at Costco.
Of course I am.
Okay.
Sam, next question.
Hey, for asked Bill anything on Friday, I'm just curious.
Do you have to work at being such a dick bill or does it just come natural?
Is it genetic or something?
Oh, it comes natural.
I mean, no.
Yeah.
I don't work at it.
Yeah.
I don't work on it at it at all.
It's, to me, it's like gravity, right?
You wake up in the morning and your feet hit the floor instead of you levitating and
hitting the ceiling.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's no work at all.
It just comes naturally to me.
You are exactly who you are off the air as you are on the air.
Yeah.
That's probably true.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Zero difference.
That's basically true.
Yeah.
That's basically true.
Yeah.
Okay.
Next question.
Good morning.
Happy Friday, 13th.
Hey, Bill, if you and Neil have a kid, describe what he would look like.
Wow.
Well, he certainly would have no hair.
He or she would have absolutely no hair.
Okay.
Probably have a pretty, if she would probably have a pretty good goatee.
Yeah.
So tight.
Yes.
And certainly an appetite.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And that's, yeah.
That's interesting.
Well, first of all, it would be somewhat miraculous medically speaking, but although, although
we, to be honest with you, we do try to have a kid constantly, all right, maybe IVF.
I'm going to put both of our faces through AI and see what our child would look like.
Oh, that's actually very funny.
Okay.
Do we have one more question for the break?
Bill, I thought hearing good ear Arizona, I like Neil who fears no meals.
Is there any food you want to eat, Bill?
Yeah.
If you exclude the dog and cat.
Oh, no, I eat those.
No.
It's, I won't eat organ meats, which a lot of people don't.
I don't like liver, I don't like sweet breads, even though I like sweet bread.
Do you think they're both full?
Oh, that's very funny.
No, yeah, organ meats, you know, kidneys and all that stuff.
I don't eat.
Not many people do.
Most, Neil, don't most people not like organ meats.
No, you asked, we're not real big on, you know, there's been a, what they call the snout
to hoof movement and stuff like that, where they try and use as much of the animals possible.
And that was popular for a long while, but it's a very acquired taste.
But yeah, you can get organ meats at certain ethnic restaurants.
When you get hoof burgers on medium, or they're always well-known, let's take a break.
But we'll, it's a little comfy, you think so?
Well, dintey.
Okay, we're going to come back and finish up Ask Candle Anything.

Hey, welcome back.
Handle here.
It is a Friday, morning, March 20th.
We talked about one of the questions for us.
Handle, anything is what would a baby look like if Neil and I had a baby and actually
Neil morphed the two of us together and it's upon me.
I put it in.
I put it in.
It's a chat GPT and it's basically your face with my hat, my goatee.
It's got your shirt on.
Okay.
I mean, not a non-cute baby.
It's a little disturbing.
Okay.
Let's go ahead and do my finish up, ask Handle, anything.
It's a weird morning.
Okay.
Go ahead, Sam.
Next question.
Hey.
Good morning, Bill.
Just to say, Lindsay, all of a sudden, wanted to have a family with you.
Make a family.
Would you be able to produce, or are you snipped?
You snipped?
Well, I have been snipped, but that was when I was very, very young, eight days old when
the oil...
No, no, no, no.
A little more like the tip, but like the functional part.
I know.
No, I have not.
And it's...
Yeah.
And we're not going to have a family.
I mean, my God.
I'm not going to start a family.
And so, the answer is no.
I mean, there's no clever way of saying no.
Well, how about this one?
Why did you get snipped?
Because I never get laid.
Because I only have sex with myself.
And it's hard to get pregnant.
Okay.
Moving on.
That's what I say.
I don't show a lot of people.
I really enjoy your show, but I do.
The question to you is, eventually, you are going to retire.
And would you like to see someone else take over the show, Marginal Legal Advice?
Yeah.
I'd like to see someone take over the show tomorrow morning.
Why do you ask?
Well, it sounds like he was asking about the law show.
Yeah.
No, I understand that.
You'll still see that.
That's tomorrow morning.
Oh, yeah.
You know, frankly, I don't care at that point.
You know, when I walk out the door, I cut my losses pretty quickly.
I mean, you've heard the story about, you know, my dad dying.
Okay.
You're done.
And my mother died.
And we were at the funeral.
Okay.
Let's go eat.
So I cut my losses pretty closely.
I mean, I'm done.
So yeah.
I don't care.
They can do whatever the hell they want.
Okay.
Next question.
I have a question for Bill.
How old were you when you lost your virginity?
And did the woman you lost it with say that it was good?
Or did she just keep saying how it was bad?
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So clever, isn't it?
It's so clever.
How old was I?
I'm trying to remember because it was the first time I could put together $100.
It was.
I'm trying.
Frankly, I was somewhere in my teenage years.
But then again, well, when I really lost my virginity, it depends on whether you consider
playing yourself, playing with yourself the first time and losing your virginity.
And I don't know the time wise.
Wait.
Was it with like the older sister of your girlfriend or something?
Yeah.
I was actually.
You remember that story?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was the older sister of my little cute girlfriend.
Yeah.
Okay.
Next question.
Bill, my question to you is this.
What does it take to be an influencer?
I mean, is it just something you come up with?
You're just really good at the gift of gab.
No, that's actually a very good question.
That is a legitimate question.
What it takes to be an influencer, it's real simple people, people believing what you
say and what you do and believing in you.
That's it.
If they believe you, you're an influencer and if it doesn't matter if you have an audience
of 80 million, you're not an influencer unless people really believe in what you say and
what you do.
There it is.
Neil, that's right on, I would think.
That's a serious question.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You have to be trustworthy.
Yeah.
That's basically it.
Okay.
Do we have more?
Was that it, Sam?
Okay.
That's it.
Boy, that was, that was cooked this morning.
And people didn't embarrass me too much, a little bit, but not much, the whole point of
it.
Okay.
Tomorrow morning, handle on the law at eight o'clock.
And then that's following Dean Sharp with the home show.
And then at two o'clock, when Neil broadcasts the fork report, it will be from my house.
We've never done that before and we are honoring some people who donated a whole lot of money
to Caterina's Club.
So it is for them.
And it's something that Neil and I have talked about, not broadcast wise, just coming
over to the house and teaching me how to grill.
And since then, we, this thing has exploded.
So we have White House, the White House is going to be with appetizers.
We have a wild fork with the meats.
You've got the meats.
Zelman's is going to be there.
Pardon?
Green egg is going to be there.
We're going to cook on my green egg.
You're blocking past the reality.
I was going to do the show and show you how to grill.
We've talked about this for over a year.
You were generous enough to open it up so people could bid on it.
That's the reality.
I was giving you compliments, but it really was to open up your house to people is, is
pretty cool.
And the morning crew will be there and a lovely thing.
I don't think you have ever heard.
We're going to stream it where you're going to see Will Coltribor with his face into the
tray of appetizers.
Oh heck yeah.
Oh heck yeah.
So Will's going to be there and Amy is going to be there and Neil is going to be there
and Ann is going to be there.
So the whole team will be there.
Kono is out doing something so he will not be there.
And so they don't tune in.
It should be a fun broadcast.
Wait a second.
Is that why Kono took Friday and Monday off so he can cover up his decision not to go
to your party?
Precisely.
Uh huh.
Okay.
We're done, guys.
Back off.
Well, tomorrow morning and the folk report tomorrow afternoon and then back on Monday
with the whole crowd except Sam will continue filling in for Kono and a big thank you to
Sam.
I don't know why I said that because it's written down here.
