It's September 8th. Welcome in. This is NFL News Today, where the league meets AI. I'm Corey with the story. The San Francisco 49ers are about to make history, playing in the NFL's first ever game down in Melbourne, Australia. They're set to face off against the Los Angeles Rans on Thursday, September 10th. Which, if you're over there, is actually Friday morning. The team flew out earlier this week and get this, they actually skipped a whole day. Because of the international date line, when the 49ers traveled to Melbourne, they jumped forward in time. This meant they technically lost the date of September 3rd. Now, this might not seem like a big deal for most, but it happened to be the birthday of their defensive coordinator, Rahim Morris. So, while Rahim Morris was celebrating his big 5-0, he was also in a weird twist of fate, losing his actual birthday. He turned 50 on September 3rd, but because the team was in transit, he didn't get to experience that specific day. It's a pretty wild situation, losing a whole day, and more importantly,
your birthday. You have to feel for the guy. Your 50th is a milestone, and to have it essentially erased by travel is a strange turn of events. Hopefully, he and the coaching staff found a way to celebrate either before they left on September 2nd, or after they landed on September 4th. Local time. It's a unique story, and one that highlights just how strange international travel can be. The 49ers are making headlines for their historic game, but this birthday mishap is definitely adding an unexpected chapter to their trip down. Under.
