Good morning, guys.
I am so pumped to be with you.
We're doing evangelism training this week.
And so spoiler alert, if you don't know this yet,
I'm about to ruin the news.
Your outreach is four hours of mandatory evangelism every day.
Now you know.
And so just so you know, this might
be very important for you this week.
If you're going to be doing this for four hours a day
for the next two months of your life when you leave Kona.
So take notes, get prep, get ready.
We don't believe that it's just some that are called to evangelism.
We believe it's all called to evangelism.
And I'm going to show you how that's not my opinion
and how it's the Bible in just a second.
But let's just pray, holy spirit, we depend on you.
We need you, we want you, we desire you, we invite you.
We open ourselves up to you.
Lord, we ask for the spirit of wisdom and revelation
and the knowledge of Jesus to come and unlock our mind,
our understanding, unlock our heart, our emotions,
our soul to the spirit.
Lo, we just say we are fully open to you, God, come.
Do beyond what we can dream, think or imagine.
Lo, we love you.
This is your week, not mine, not fine fragrances, not YOMs.
It belongs to Jesus.
So we submit every day to your leadership, holy spirit,
throw away whatever notes you want to throw away,
take it in the direction you want to take it,
you rule and reign here.
Do whatever you want to do.
Possess me, take a hold of me, whatever I have in my own desires
to say, rake it into fire, whatever you want to say,
bring it with fire.
And Jesus name.
Amen.
Amen.
Cool, guys, we're going to have fun this week.
You're going to be doing a lot of preaching this week.
You're going to be doing a lot of ministry this week.
I'm just here to facilitate what God's
going to do through you.
I'm kind of like an evangelism coach more than a teacher.
And so you'll be getting activated and a ton of stuff.
We're going to do words of knowledge this week.
So just get ready.
Every single one of you will get an accurate word of knowledge
this week.
It's going to be awesome.
You're going to train in healing.
So that way when you're in the nations,
you know how to pray for the sick and see them get healed.
If we have time, I'll do a training on deliverance
so that when people start to manifest demonically
in the nations, you know exactly what to do.
And then we're going to go after an Acts chapter 2
Pentecost moment this week.
The reason that they had courage to preach the gospel in Acts
2 is because the Holy Spirit had just poured out power on them.
I believe had he not done that, they
would remain hidden in the upper room.
But because he came upon them in might,
they knew I received everything I need to reach the loss.
And in that moment, they saw 3,000 get saved.
And so we're going to go after that this week as well.
We'll go after sharing testimony in gospel, all the fun stuff
to be an effective evangelist.
I just got back from Carnival in Mexico.
And I was a party with over 120,000 people in Mexico
right before all the mayhem broke out with the cartel.
Epic videos circling around of the brave love girls
that rolled with us preaching the gospel to like 120 cops,
five of them gave their life to Jesus at Carnival.
And we saw over 700 salvation in four days of evangelism.
We just went bonkers.
And so we had about 300 evangelists.
It was under 300.
Somewhere between 200, 300, we didn't get an accurate number.
But somewhere between there, and for four days,
we just went out and stomped on the enemy on his own turf.
Because the victory does not belong to Satan.
The victory belongs to Jesus.
And if we believe that the victory belongs to the enemy,
we'll always shrink back in battle.
But if we know that the end of this story is true,
we always rise up to face battle.
We have to have a proper theology of Jesus.
He's victorious.
He's ruling and reigning.
He's seated on a throne.
There is no battle he loses.
He wins every day, all day, every second, every minute,
every single nanosecond.
He's winning again, and again, and again, and again,
and again, and again, and again, and again.
And again, and he's never gonna stop winning.
He's always gonna win.
He's always gonna be victorious.
And so when we know that, evangelism doesn't look
like going to try to beat the enemy,
evangelism looks like, no, I'm joining Jesus
in his already pre-planned defeat of the enemy.
You're getting invited into the greatest victory
that's ever happened in human history.
That's what evangelism is.
As you were invited into the victory of God.
How many guys ever thought to yourself, man?
Like, Christianity kind of lacks like excitement.
Kind of lacks like risk.
It's kind of like boring.
I just go to church and I just sit here
and I just do some normal stuff.
But there's like this lacking element of wildness.
Who's ever thought that?
I know I thought that as a kid.
But then, you step into the kingdom of God
and you start going after the Great Commission
and then you're like, oh wait, there is nothing lacking.
There is so much more for me.
It's infinite power.
It's infinite victory.
It's infinite demons cast out.
It's infinite salvation.
It's infinite defeat of darkness.
And we're invited to join Jesus
in this magnificent victory that he's doing.
So like, I kind of like to explain it like this.
We had Super Bowl Sunday a couple of weeks ago.
And I was joking around in Mexico.
I was like, I didn't watch Bad Bunny.
I decided to not watch it and open my Bible
and tune into the Holy Lamb instead.
But we had Super Bowl, right?
I want you to imagine this.
I want you to imagine this.
Super Bowl.
Let's just say like you're on the winning team
of the Super Bowl, right?
And I want you to imagine that your favorite team,
maybe you're a Seahawks fan or Patriots fan, I don't know,
whatever, your favorite team is on the TV.
Let's picture these two scenarios, okay?
You're watching it.
It's Super Bowl Sunday.
Let's say one version, the first version of the story
is you're watching it in your living room
with all your friends, you're wearing your uniforms
and chanting and screaming and shouting,
face paint, the whole Shabang, the wings, the fries,
the chips, everything.
And you're there with your family,
you're watching on the TV
and you're all celebrating and you're shouting
and you're screaming and your team
wins the Super Bowl and you're like, you know,
chess pumps and high fives and hugs and tears
and you're like stoke out of your mind
that your favorite football team won the Super Bowl.
Which one would be more impactful?
Which one would be cooler?
Which one would be funner?
That version of it?
Or you are on the Super Bowl championship team.
You are on the team itself and you are on the field.
You are in the field, you're not on the stands,
you're not on the sidelines, you're not just watching,
you are participating in the actual activity on the field.
And not only that, but you are either the one
that throws a touchdown pass
or you're the one that catches the touchdown pass.
Right, you are fully engaged in the activity
that's happening on the field
and suddenly there's this big win,
you're part of the win, the team comes,
they dump the cooler of ice water over your head,
they pick you up on their shoulders,
you're holding this huge trophy
and they're like crowds are thinking
through the football field.
Which one would be more exciting?
Watching it from your living room
or standing on the field, being a part of it?
Welcome to the Great Commission.
Come on, you can either watch it in YouTube videos,
you can either hear from it from a pulpit,
you can hear preachers talk about it
in missionaries that come to your church conference
every year, talk about it.
Or you can just get smacked ab
in the middle of the field and be the one
making the passes, throwing the catches,
to making the catches, smacked ab
in the middle of the victorious story
of Jesus stomping on the head of the serpent.
After this, in verse 19,
the Lord had spoken to them.
He was taken up into heaven
and he sat at the right hand of God.
Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere
and the Lord worked with them
and confirmed his word by signs
that accompanied it.
Just real quick, I wanna touch on this.
It says they worked signs that accompanied it.
Notice, it doesn't say that accompanied them.
There's a doctrine that says
that signs and wonders were to verify a apostleship,
not biblical.
It does not say that the signs and wonders were to verify them.
It says to verify it.
What is it, the gospel?
So what are signs and wonders for?
To verify the message of the gospel.
Now I wanna encourage you with something.
We're gonna go after signs and wonders this week
but you don't have to pursue signs and wonders.
If you live a life of preaching the gospel,
this verse says they will pursue you.
These signs will follow those who believe.
You're not chasing after them.
If you sign up to preach the gospel,
I can promise you they're gonna chase after you.
They're gonna be following you.
Wherever you go, you're preaching the gospel
and there's gonna be a wake of signs and wonders
behind your life.
It's just gonna be the trail that you leave behind.
Why?
Because signs and wonders accompany
the preaching of the gospel.
I stood up here one time a couple of years ago.
It was awesome.
And we ran our first youth camp.
We had no idea what we were doing.
I don't know if you know Jeff Mathis.
He runs the national base.
We had no idea what we're doing
but we pioneered this new camp
and we had about 150 youth here for our first camp.
No idea what we're doing.
They were in these same seats.
I was on the same stage
and I shared the gospel that night.
Okay?
I did an alter call.
I shared the gospel.
And that night there was a guy that was in our camp
and his name, well I won't say his name,
but he had a voice condition
and he talked like this
and he had a vocal condition, his whole life
where something was wrong
and instead there was something that wasn't there
or something that didn't need me to be there
out of the exact language.
But he talked like this his whole life.
Can you imagine being 18 years old
and getting bullied in high school
because everyone makes fun of your voice
because that's the only thing they can attack about you?
This is how he talked.
Now when I first met him,
I thought it was a TikTok act.
I'm gonna be honest, right?
I'm a little older so I'd kind of not up to date
with all the trends.
And I'm like, is this dude like, is that a TikTok act?
Like is this like, he's like not breaking characters?
Is that what's going on?
I was kind of trying to figure him out.
And the more I get to know him,
the more I realize, oh wait, this is not a show.
This is real, like this is actually how he talks.
So that night I'm up here preaching the gospel.
I do an alter call for salvation.
Now we never laid hands on anyone.
We never prayed for healing.
We never asked Jesus to heal anyone.
I'm just trying to clarify something.
Science and wonders follow the proclamation of the gospel.
It follows it.
This is what the Bible says in Mark 16.
So we share the gospel and all of a sudden,
there's a hand right here and we're on the mic
and you know, we're ministering the alter call.
And suddenly he's like, give me the mic.
I'm like, no, he's like, give me the mic.
I'm like, no, dude, this is a holy moment.
And he goes, I'm healed.
And I'm like, oh gosh, not like Hannah,
I'm the mic, me and Jeopard like shaking.
There's a picture.
It's awesome with Andy and his son, Asher.
Andy's like this and Asher's like this.
Like crying his brains out because it's one of his friends.
He comes up on the stage, Jimmy.
He jumps up, that's his name, just so you know,
he jumps up on the stage.
I forgot I was trying to hide it.
He jumps up on the stage and he goes for 18 years
of my life.
The enemy has had his hand over my life.
Trying to keep me silent.
Trying to make me a victim of bullying and harassment.
People making fun of me.
But today, the Lord ripped the hand of the devil off of my mouth
so that I can declare to a generation
that the God of the Bible still heals today.
The room erupts with praise.
Okay, it's like going insane.
This little girl, 13 years old,
goes sprinting down to building A.
Because she begins to feel what feels like tiger balm
all over her legs.
This week, you're gonna feel this feeling
all the time I promise.
Because the Holy Spirit's gonna be touching people
and it's a manifestation of the Spirit.
But she begins to feel the feeling of like tiger balm
tingling all over her legs.
She goes running to building A, she was a cutter.
Just like the demoniac in Mark V.
We're gonna talk about him on Wednesday.
But she had been cutting,
but she was too embarrassed to show her scars publicly.
So she would cut herself from her knee
all the way to her thigh.
So her legs were full of scars,
like all over her legs.
Okay, she's just elevated skin in lines,
all down her thighs.
Now, this demon of depression that had been tormenting her
would come to her and tell her,
it's okay to live like this.
It's okay to be suicidal.
It's okay to wanna kill yourself.
This is normal.
It's okay, just embrace it.
Just learn to live like this.
She, the voice tells her,
I want you to grab a razor
and I want you to put it up to your leg
and I want you to carve it's okay on your leg.
So this 13 year old girl bound by the spirit of suicide,
bound by depression,
grabs a razor and has elevated skin across her thigh
that she cut out with a razor that said,
it's okay.
Friends, we cannot counsel demons out.
We need deliverance.
We need the power of the gospel.
I cannot counsel demons out of a witch and a warlock.
I need the power of the gospel mentioned in Mark 1615.
This girl, poor girl, 13 years old.
It's okay, carved on her leg.
In the moment where Jimmy comes up
and starts roaring about the Bible
and the God of the Bible that still heals today,
she begins to feel icy, sprints to building a,
goes and stands in front of the mirror,
rips off her shorts and watches the Lord
flatten all the skin on her legs.
Literally, erases every single scar on her thighs,
none left to show.
Cheers.
Signs and wonders follow the message of the gospel.
When we preach the real gospel,
the unfiltered true gospel,
not the rainbow gospel going around America,
not the gospel that says that God
could never send anyone to judgment,
those are all fake, unbiblical gospels.
When we stick to the true gospel of Jesus Christ,
the true message that the Bible communicates,
signs and wonders are a byproduct
of what we say out of our mouth.
And so I want to encourage you,
sign up for a life of laying your life down for the gospel.
And when you do that, these signs will follow you
because you actually believe.
Okay, so he goes out, shares the gospel,
does people get to say,
I want you to picture this.
There are people right now in the Middle East
that have lived there for like 15, 20 years,
laboring over the Middle East.
And they are preaching the gospel every single day.
Some of them have been laboring for like five years
preaching the gospel like gas stations,
at grocery stores, at their neighborhoods,
and their living rooms at parks,
on basketball fields, soccer fields, basketball courts.
They're like preaching the gospel faithfully every single day
and they're not seeing the fruit of salvation.
Do you see the danger of putting our metric
for success in a numerical value?
That you can live a life with no obedience
and in your obey once and see crazy fruit
versus a life that's daily obedience, but not seeing fruit.
This is where numbers are error for the metric for success.
The only thing we can use as the metric for success
is whether or not we are being obedient.
That is our metric for success.
Obedience to the Great Commission.
And just to encourage you guys to me guys
are going to those Middle Eastern countries.
This is what gets me stoked about going to those places.
I haven't seen, not in the Middle East,
I haven't seen anyone come to the Lord yet,
but what I get pumped about is that I get to be the first person
to fully unpack the gospel for a person that's never heard it.
And I'm going to explain why I get stoked about that
in just a minute, okay?
I'm going to explain why, because there's a reason
I get super pumped and I'll explain that.
But let me sidetrack, let me backtrack a little bit.
Testimony, I was told in my DTS,
if you just go share your testimony,
people are going to get saved.
I was going for it.
I was like, literally on my outreach, on my day off,
I was going door to door, because I wanted to see
someone get saved and wasn't seeing it.
So I'm literally on my day off, everyone's at the cafe,
everyone's hanging out, doing stuff at the beach,
and I'm like going to neighbor's house, I was like, boom, boom, boom.
Hey, I want to share something with you,
and I'm sharing my testimony with every single person I can
in ubers, on buses, on airplanes,
like everywhere we're going, I'm sharing my testimony.
And I'm going to be real blunt with you.
I'm going to be like, be real vulnerable.
This is what I experienced, people were going,
I'm so glad you found something that worked for you.
Congratulations.
Oh my gosh, you have such a great willpower and determination.
Proud of you, good for you.
And I'm like, what are you talking about?
Dude, this has nothing to do with me.
I'm trying to point to someone else.
And it wasn't giving me the results I was looking for.
I kept hearing the same thing.
You found your truth so happy for you.
We all have our own truth.
I'm like, no, you missed the whole point.
What do you mean?
And I kept hearing these phrases over and over and over
and I was getting so frustrated because I'm like, God,
I signed up to see people get saved.
I have a hunger for souls.
Like I have a burden and a longing
for to see people come into the kingdom.
Why is this not working?
And I remember one day I'm reading this Bible verse.
Let me ask you a question.
How many guys ever read a verse?
And you've read it like a butcherylion times.
And it's like you just glaze over.
It's almost like it has a lock on it.
And all of a sudden, one day you read it
and it's like the lock went and opened up.
And you're like, wait, how have I read this a thousand times
and it never meant this?
But now it means everything to me.
Who knows what I'm talking about?
Okay, this is a spiritual phenomenon called illumination.
It's where the Holy Spirit will illuminate a passage
and suddenly it's become revelation.
And so I want to take you to a verse that was illuminated
to me and it changed everything for me.
I want you to go with me to Romans.
And we're going to go to the first chapter.
Now, like I said, I had to read this verse so many times
and it was just like a cool verse, right?
It was like, Lecray, yeah, 116, like just quote it
and like you kind of know it.
But I want you to go with me at 116
because during this season where I'm rustling with God
and I'm like, God, why isn't this working?
Why isn't this working?
The Lord takes me to this verse and then boom.
It's like the lights on.
Verse 116, chapter 1, verse 16, it says,
I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the gospel
because it is the power of God for the salvation
of everyone who believes, first for the Jew,
then for the Gentile.
So I'm reading this and it's like,
I had read a bunch of times, I'm like, yeah, cool verse,
but selling, I read it and it's like the light goes,
and I'm like, oh my gosh, I see it.
The gospel is the power of God that leads to salvation.
So the Lord spoke to me at Mama, he says,
Frinchy, this is what you're doing.
You're sharing your testimony,
but your testimony is the story of your life.
The gospel is the story of my life.
And I began to realize, I can't change people,
but Jesus does.
And so if I'm telling people my story,
it's no wonder it's not changing anyone's life,
but man, when I tell them God's story,
there's nothing that can stop it from changing people's lives.
So the gospel is the power of God that brings salvation.
You want salvation, you preach the gospel
and the gospel is the dynamic power
that unlocks the heart of a lost person.
The gospel, preaching the gospel, okay?
So I'm gonna get into today, what is the gospel?
Now, I'm not discrediting our testimony, okay?
Revelation 1910, it says that the testimony of Jesus
is the spirit of prophecy.
So what does that mean?
The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
That means when I'm testifying of Jesus,
I am prophesying to my listeners
that if he could do it in my life, he can do it in yours.
That's what that verse means, Revelation 1910.
The testimony of Jesus is a spirit of prophecy,
meaning if he can do it in me, he can do it in you.
And it's like a permission slip
that's just granted in the spirit.
It says in Revelation chapter 12 verse 11,
it says, they overcame the dragon
by the blood of the lamb and the word up there.
Yeah, so there is a way to overcome.
It's the blood of Jesus in us declaring
to a lost, broken, bound, and demonized world
that the blood of Jesus set us free,
that that was the power, that was the weapon,
that was the tool, that was the key,
that set us free from slavery.
It is the blood of Jesus.
And when we're testifying, we're literally like,
we're like waging war against the enemy.
Because you know what the enemy does?
He comes and he says, hey, you're still a pervert.
Hey, you're still addicted.
Hey, you're still hate yourself.
Hey, you still want to commit suicide.
Hey, you're still rejected.
Hey, you're still blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
One of his names, Satan means thoughtcaster.
Thoughtcaster, sometimes you think things
and you think it's you and it's him throwing a dart.
Ephesians chapter six says that you've
been given a shield of faith and a helmet of salvation
to block yourself from the fiery darts of the enemy.
Meaning he's throwing lies at you and sometimes
we are like the little creature and toy story
that's inside of that machine
and we're like captivated by the claw.
And it's like that thing's about to take you.
And we're like, ooh, the claw.
And we're like mesmerized by the very thing that destroys us.
When those things pass by your mind,
you know what testifying is?
When he says, you're still a pervert.
You say, I don't think so.
I got say five years ago and I was made
the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Hey, you're still addicted.
I don't think so.
I got set free five years ago and my Bible says
he who the sun sets free is free indeed.
So when we are testifying, we are fighting back
at an enemy that's trying to convince us
that the old us is still alive.
But the Bible says Roman six six,
that person was co-crucified with Christ,
no longer lives, but it's now Christ living in us
and through us.
So when we're testifying, we're letting the devil know,
we're letting his demons know
and we're letting people know, hey,
that's not true about me anymore
because the blood of the lamb changed my life
and I've been made new by the blood of Jesus.
We're testifying, we're literally going to war with our words.
Okay, so is our testimony important?
Yes, is it powerful?
Yes, and I understand what most people in the room think
and I'm going to tell you why it's a demonic lie.
I don't have a powerful testimony.
I never like, soul drugs are murdered anyone
or like human trafficked anybody.
So I don't feel like I have a powerful testimony.
Friends, let me explain to you
how ridiculously stupid that lie from Satan is.
Okay, I have a baby now, he's six months, yesterday,
two days ago, he's amazing, he's the best,
his name is Radley, I love him.
But when he was in the womb,
I was not putting my hand on my wife's womb,
going, God, I pray that one day he's a drug addict
so he has a powerful testimony.
God, I pray one day he's like human trafficking kids
so he has a powerful testimony when he gets saved.
Do you understand the ridiculousness of the lie we've believed?
It is such a demonic lie.
Yes, God, make him a fool pervert
so that way he can have a powerful testimony one day.
No, are you kidding me?
That's not what I'm prophesying over her womb.
I'm like God, make him so holy
to fence religion and to fence the world.
God, I'm praying speaking in tongues
by elementary school, like kindergarten.
God, I pray prophesying over his teacher in preschool.
God, I pray casting demons out of bound kids at recess
in third grade.
Like God, I'm praying that he would be a move of God
alive on the earth, filled with the spirit from birth
like John the Baptist.
Like that's the stuff that I'm prophesying over my kid
because that's the most powerful testimony that exists.
The hand of God on the life of a human
from the womb until glorification.
That is the most powerful testimony that exists.
How is it the most powerful testimony of this?
Because society tells us we have to learn through failure.
The Bible tells us we can learn through faith.
You and I have been sold a lie on TikTok and Fox
on CNN and Facebook and whatever other hogwash we consume.
The Bible says you can avoid that stuff by learning through faith
but everything including our education system says
go be a ninkam poop, waste four years of life in college,
party get drunk every day, believe your grandma was a monkey
and in one day you can be smart.
That's learning through failure.
That's hogwash.
I don't want to learn through failure.
I already did that.
I'm trying to learn through faith
and I want my child to learn through faith.
Come on are you with me?
Yes.
The most powerful testimony that exists
is the hand of God on a life from childhood.
It is the most, why?
Because it defies all odds.
It defies all societal odds.
Every odd it defies it.
So if that's been you and that's what you've been wrestling with,
I'm here to put the sword to your dome
and remove the lies from your mind.
No one looks at the life of Joseph in scripture
and goes oh my gosh he never had like a crazy failure
so his story is not that powerful in Genesis.
Like maybe if he would have had sex with Potiphar's wife
and he'd have a more powerful testimony.
What are you talking about?
What makes the story so dope is that he ran from Potiphar's wife.
Right?
Trying to flip this thing on his head.
You guys with me?
Your testimony is powerful, especially because it's not your story.
It's God's story living through you.
That's powerful.
Is that 90% of the planet walks around possessed by demons.
You're walking around possessed by the creator of galaxies.
That's powerful.
It's powerful enough.
You know what else is powerful?
All of us deserve to go to hell.
Every single one of us.
There's no one that doesn't deserve it.
I don't care if you only said one F bomb your whole entire life.
We're all deserving.
The only thing that saved us is the mercy of Jesus.
And if that's not a powerful enough testimony,
I don't know what else will convince you.
None of us deserve to go to heaven.
All of us were gifted it by the grace and the mercy of Jesus.
It's Jesus.
It's Jesus.
It's Jesus.
So I'm going to tell you in just a minute where I will usually insert my testimony into my gospel presentation.
Because I'm not discrediting testimonies.
Right?
My testimonies.
I was a drug addict for 12 years.
Okay?
And so I do have one of those stories.
I don't sit there and tell someone like 90 minutes of my story when I meet them on the streets.
I will ask the Holy Spirit which part of my story is most effective for this listener.
And I'll insert it into a part of my gospel presentation as a tool to be able to reach that person.
Okay?
So I'm going to get to that in a second.
Let's do a couple of verses.
You guys want to bounce through the Bible real quick before I jump in?
Okay.
Go with me to Luke.
Actually, go with me to Ephesians.
Let's go to Ephesians first.
I'm just going to go a couple of Bible verses are going to hit some stuff just to clarify some foundation.
So Ephesians chapter 4, I want to go down with me to verse 11.
This is talking about these gifts that God gave humanity.
It says it was he.
It's talking about Jesus.
It was Jesus who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors, some to be teachers.
Okay?
So I want to fix some, I want to help clarify something.
Often times people will see this verse and they'll say, oh, well, I'm not like the Ephesians for gift of the evangelist.
So that means I don't really have to preach the gospel.
Like that's for like the famous like TV preacher or like the evangelist.
But I'll let him do that.
And then I'm kind of going to do my own thing.
But I want to help you with this next verse after Ephesians 4.11.
It says that the gifts are, verse 12, to prepare God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
What does that mean?
Ephesians 4.11 gives us these gifts.
But then it says the next verse, maybe your translation says, for the training and the equipping of the saints.
I think ESV you might say that.
For the training and equipping of the saints so that we can all mature.
What does that mean?
So we have a prophet in Fire and Fragrance.
Her name is Amy Ward and she's amazing.
And if her life, if she's a Ephesians 4.11, like a prophetic gift in her life, and her life is only giving prophetic words to people, she's only fulfilling half the call of God on her life.
Because the next verse says it's not just to go and do it.
It's to train and equip the saints to do the same thing.
Are you tracking with me?
So I'm going to put it in the evangelist court this time.
I'm an evangelist.
I know that.
And I've seen tens of thousands of people come to faith in Jesus.
And I could sit here and make you think I'm cool by telling you a bunch of testimonies.
I'm not here to do that.
I'm here to empower you so you can go do the same thing I do and get your own testimonies.
Ephesians 4.11 says, yes, there are evangelists.
But if I go out and all I'm doing is preaching all over the world, seeing tons of people get saved.
And I'm not training the saints to do the same thing I do.
I'm only living half the call of God on my life.
What's the other call, the half of my calling is to train the church to preach the gospel and reach the lost.
So that way it's not a story of one man on a stage.
It's the story of the body of Christ marching and victory against darkness.
So what does that do?
It excludes anyone from being responsible for preaching the gospel.
The evangelist should preach to teach and train on how to do it so that we can all do it.
Just like me, I'm not excluding myself from wanting the prophetic in my life.
When Amy's around, I sit in her teaching because I take notes and I absorb it because I'm like,
I want to grow to the full maturity of Christ.
And if Jesus could hear the Father and Jesus did evangelism and Jesus pastored and Jesus did all these things,
I'm going to learn from every person, from every gift set because I don't want to be stuck in one lane.
I want to embody Christ.
Okay?
So we see that verse.
Just removing any lie that might say it's just for the evangelist.
Not true.
It's for all the followers of Jesus.
That's why Mark 1615 was a command.
As a matter of fact, think about this.
Jesus, he's already risen from the dead.
And he's about to ascend.
Mark 16 says he ascends right in front of them.
So just imagine Luke.
They're literally watching him like Superman off the air into heaven, which is so dope.
But they're watching him ascend.
And he's ascending right before their very eyes to the Father, to the right hand of the Father.
And as they're watching him ascend right before that happens, he gives them his final words.
You might think that someone's final words before leaving might be pretty important.
Lauren Cunningham, obviously we know the founder of YWAM.
Right before he died, all he talked about was we need to get the Bible into every language.
We need to get the Bible into every language.
We need to get the Bible into every language.
Lauren Darlene even has a story where he was asleep one night.
And he wakes up in the middle of his sleep in like his last days of life and puts his arms out in the air and begins to say,
I commission you to go there forth into the nations and starts talking about translating the Bible into every language.
Like you might think that the last thing someone says might be pretty important if they're going to choose that as their final words.
Right?
So let's think about this.
Jesus' final words in Mark are, go preach the gospel onto all creation.
Let me ask you a question.
Who wants Jesus to come back?
Matthew 24-14 gives us the tool to hasten, to quicken the return of Jesus.
It says, when this gospel has been preached to the whole world, then he will come back, then the end will come.
So ask people all the time, you want him to come back?
Yes, what are you doing about it?
Yeah, if you actually want Jesus to come back, you're going to go and preach the gospel to as many people as humanly possible,
because that is the way we accelerate the return of Christ.
It's for every person to have a chance to hear.
And so if we're not out preaching the gospel, you know what we're doing?
We're slowing down his return.
If we really, really, really actually want Jesus to come back, the whole body of Christ needs to go get the message of the kingdom of God to every human on earth.
Think about how crazy this is, okay?
Like just track with me.
Matthew 20-19 says, go make disciples of all nations.
That doesn't mean that.
Okay.
Think about this.
Is God good?
Is he loving?
Is he kind?
How many of you guys have a dad on earth that said, okay, you want to be successful?
Go get 150% on every grade from kindergarten all the way to university.
150% on every test, every homework assignment, every single book report, every single paper you write, you have to get 150%.
That will be success.
How many guys have a dad that said that?
Why? Why would a dad not say that?
It's not possible.
Come on.
It's not possible.
A loving dad wouldn't give an order to do something impossible.
Why in the world would he ask us to do the great commission if it's impossible?
It wouldn't be loving for him to give us the great commission if it was impossible.
The only reason he would order it and command it is if it was possible.
I mean, half has.
Think about this.
If the half that has would stop worrying about their 100th vacation, their music festival, their trip to wherever island they want to go do nothing productive at, their whatever, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
And we're for one moment in their life to focus on the great commission.
Every single person that has heard could go on one trip to an unreached nation and we could literally finish in 24 hours.
Think about that.
If half had heard and half have not, all it takes is the half that half to do something about it and go tell the half that has it.
If every person were to adopt one person in their heart, I'm going to go to Timbuck too.
I'm going to go to middle of nowhere.
I'm going to go tell them about the gospel.
We can literally hasten the return of the Lord tomorrow.
But we're so much more worried about binging on Netflix.
We're so much more worried about 10 hours on a video game because it gives us a fake feeling of accomplishment.
We're so much more worried about stacking money in our bank accounts and getting a better education instead of obeying the great commission.
All it takes is for every believer to just obey and we can get him back already.
I don't know about you guys.
I want him back already.
I'm looking at the war and I'm like, man, I want to see Jesus come back on a white horse.
I want to see Jesus followed by Mary ads and Mary ads and Mary ads of angels and every demonic spirit on earth bow at the feet of the king.
I'm like, bro, I don't care if I look crazy.
I'm trying to do this because God made it possible.
So I'm trying to be a part of the story that is possible and that he's doing and he's winning because I'd rather be on the field.
Catching the passes, throwing the passes, being on the winning team on the field than sitting on the sidelines watching it happen and pass me by.
So this is why we go preach to gospel because you're victorious in Christ.
You've been filled not with the junior Holy Spirit.
There's no such thing.
You've been filled with the same spirit that rose Jesus from the grave.
You didn't get like the Walmart discount great value version.
You got like the real full version, the same one that possessed Jesus on earth is the same spirit possessing you right now on the earth.
Not just to sit around, but to move in the power of the Holy Spirit, to preach the gospel, to join Christ not only in his suffering,
yes in his suffering, but also in his great victory.
Oh, it's the best.
This is why you're going to the nations because you're like, I can't just sit here and read the book of Acts and believe a lie that says that that doesn't happen anymore.
No, where does the Bible say he was the same yesterday today and in the past.
It says he's the same yesterday today tomorrow forever.
And if he was filling people with the spirit doing those things then what stops him from doing it today are experience.
No, I refuse to live according to lack of experience and I choose to live according to the scriptures.
This is my theology.
This is my truth.
And if this is not my truth, I can't call myself a Christian.
I can call myself a Mormon.
I can call myself a Muslim.
I can call myself a Jehovah's Witness.
But until I'm willing to submit to this is my truth, I cannot call myself a Christian.
Because what it means to follow Jesus is that you believe that Jesus, the Word of God, became flesh and this is all about the king of kings and the Lord of Lords.
And I'm going to submit and I'm going to bow down and surrender my thoughts and my emotions to this is my truth instead of allowing this to come and try to bow down to my emotions and my thoughts.
This is the truth.
Everything in this is the truth.
Okay, so I want you to flip with me Luke 9.
You guys okay?
You sure you're kind of quiet.
Am I like pushing the wrong button on you guys or something?
You guys don't, you're okay.
You're probably happy.
Like you have the spirit of God.
You should have a lot of joy in you.
You guys happy?
Okay, cool.
I know I'm a little rowdy.
It's just my personality.
I'm Mexican.
We're just like, we're just like that.
I can't help it.
Like my Christmas dinner table was like, it was like yelling at each other.
I can't explain it.
It's just how we are.
We're just Mexican.
We're my sisters.
Like you go to the dinner table.
How many guys come from a house?
A family where dinner is like hungry, hungry hippos over who's going to win the conversation
at the table.
Yeah, it's like Mexicans, right?
It's like someone's talking.
You're like waiting for the opportunity to hijack the convo.
And they're like, yeah, oh my gosh.
So like, yes, my friend was wearing a green shirt and they take a breath.
You're like, boom.
Yeah, hey, so I just got a new green car.
And it's like you find the thing in common and you hijack the convo and it's like dang.
Lost that one.
Okay.
Welcome to my life.
You know what I'm talking about?
Okay.
Luke 9.
Go with me.
Luke 9.
Check this out.
Love this.
Love this.
Love this.
Love this.
Love this.
Love this.
Okay.
It says.
When Jesus had called the 12 together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases.
And he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Okay.
And I see that Jesus does it with the 12, his apostles.
Okay.
Now I'm going to break every single doctrine that says that it was only for the 12.
Flip with me one chapter later.
Chapter 10, verse 1.
The reason I'm going after this today is because we're going to go after the supernatural all week.
And if you believe this stuff that's not biblical, then we're not going to be able to go there together.
And I want you to be a part of it.
Luke chapter 10, verse 1, it says this.
After this, the Lord appointed 72 others.
Everyone say others.
Others.
That is not the 12.
That is other Joe Schmohn, nobody with no famous names, similar to you and I.
Others.
72 others, not the 12 others.
And it says that he sent them two by two ahead of him into every town and every place where he was about to go.
And he told them the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
Ask the Lord the harvest- therefore the send our workers into his harvest field.
I love this.
Jesus does, watch what Jesus does.
Let's reenact this moment, okay?
Let's just pretend I'm Jesus,
which obviously there's no way I'm even close to that,
but let's just pretend.
He says, hey guys, the harvest is plentiful,
like revival's breaking out.
And I just need people to go and like jump into the story.
I just need people to join me in my dub.
Like I just need people to say yes,
to laying down their life,
to go see the nation's bow to the name of Jesus.
And he's like, but man, the workers are few.
There's like so few people are actually down to do it.
And I believe this is what's happening.
He says, you need to ask the Lord of the Harvest
to send out workers into the harvest field.
As a matter of fact, let's pray it right now.
Let's all bow our heads.
Jesus is like with his 72 others,
the 12 are probably there as well.
So maybe there's like a hundred people.
And so Jesus is like, hey,
let's all bow our heads and close our eyes.
Now I want you to repeat after me,
Lord of the Harvest, send out workers into the harvest field.
Amen.
Now look what he does.
Look at all this is epic, okay?
He tells them pray this prayer and then they pray it
and then look at the next word.
Go.
He's like, okay, I'm going to answer your prayer.
I'm going to answer your prayer right now.
Pray this prayer with me.
And they're like, send out workers in the harvest field.
He goes, okay, amen, amen.
He goes, hey, I'm going to answer your prayer.
You just prayed that?
Cush, what an amazing prayer.
I'm going to answer it right now.
Go.
You are the prayer to the answer to your very own prayer.
I put it in your heart so we could bubble up and develop
and then you could respond to the thing
that you prayed for through your own life.
Let's go.
Isn't Jesus a genius?
I love, he's so good.
So he says, go.
He's like, go.
Now imagine these guys are probably like,
but we're not the 12.
Like, I'm not Bartholomew, I'm not John,
I'm not James, I'm not Peter.
Like, what do you mean us?
Like, we're not them, like you've been with them,
but like, we're not part of that.
And he's like, no, no, no, no, no.
Go.
Look what the story says.
Verse eight, when you enter a town and are welcomed,
eat what is set before you.
Heal the sick who were there and tell them
the kingdom of God is near you.
Now I love this because he tells them the same exact thing
he told them in the previous chapter, except deliverance,
but they do deliverance, I'm going to prove it to you.
Go with me down to verse 17.
So now they're having debrief,
just like a couple of you guys,
just like you guys are going to have in a couple months.
They've now come back from their outreach, verse 17,
the 72 returned with joy and said,
Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.
So they were casting demons, they were healing the sick,
they were preaching the kingdom, and then I love this.
Jesus says, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions
and to overcome all the power of the enemy.
Nothing will harm you.
However, don't rejoice that the spirit submit to you.
Rejoice at your names are written in the book of heaven.
I have a theory, I don't know if I'm correct,
I'm not a theologian, I'm not a scholar,
I'm just some dumb dude that loves Jesus.
Right, but I have a theory.
My theory is that Jesus is saying to them,
hey, don't sit here and boast about the supernatural.
Let's keep it around the one greatest miracle
that exists, salvation.
Like, let's make this about souls.
Let's make this about salvation.
Let me explain why, because every miracle is temporary,
but salvation is the only miracle that's eternal.
Person gets hurt, you pray, they get healed 10 years later,
they might get hurt somewhere else.
Right?
Person gets demonized, maybe you lead them to freedom
and 30 years down the road,
something tragic happens in their life
and they go back to the same addiction
and now they need deliverance again.
Those are all like temporary, I love miracles
and we're going to practice them this week
and train on them and I'm all about them.
But salvation is the one miracle that's eternal.
And I believe Jesus is saying, hey, I love that
you guys were doing deliverance, I love that you were healed
and it's awesome, I'm all about that.
We're doing this together, but let's boast most
and the one miracle that never ends salvation.
Let's be excited about our names written in the book of life.
Okay?
So I believe that this is happening,
but the reason I'm reading this is because Jesus sent out 72,
these are 72 others other than the 12.
And so I'm just trying to drill through some of the scriptures
so that way all of our excuses get thrown out the window
and flush down the toilet and none of us has an excuse left.
We're all going to go and we're going to be wild,
crazy evangelists that preach the gospel to every single person
we can because we're trying to hasten the return of the Lord.
Amen?
Okay.
I'm going to do one more verse with you just because it's fun.
I'm going to do two more, two more.
And then I'm going to jump into training.
Help me learn.
Okay.
Let's go Romans.
Let's go Romans.
Let's go Romans 10.
There's a saint named Saint Francis of Assisi.
And he has this cute quote that people love to quote,
but it's not in the Bible and it's unbiblical.
Maybe you've heard it.
Maybe you've said it.
Don't raise your hand if you've said it,
because I'm about to destroy this thing.
Preach the gospel and if you need to, use words.
Don't raise your hand if you've said it,
but raise your hand if you've heard it.
Okay.
That's not in the Bible.
That's nowhere in scripture.
That was a quote said by a saint,
Saint Francis of Assisi,
and all it did was give a bunch of people permission
to not preach the gospel.
It literally created the sin of passivity in the body of Christ.
Let me explain what Romans says,
what Paul writes to the Church of Romans chapter 10.
Romans 10, go down to verse 14,
it says,
How then can they call on the one they have not believed in?
How can they believe in the one of whom they've not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
How can they preach unless they're sent?
As it is written,
how beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news?
Paul saying,
How in the world are they going to know the gospel
if you don't open your mouth?
Cute quote, not biblical.
Let me explain.
I've done crusades,
Haiti, Myanmar,
Colombia, all over the world,
preaching in front of thousands of people.
So I want you to check with me.
Let's just say we did one in Haiti one time,
my friend, Christ off and I,
he was like, bro, there's this voodoo village,
and everyone practices voodoo,
and they're all demonized,
you want to go try to cast demons as many people as possible,
and preach the gospel,
it's like, let's get it.
So we go do a three-day crusade,
and log in off Haiti.
First gospel crusade successful,
because the voodoo,
which doctors kept coming and tearing apart the stages,
and burning down the stages,
the grace of God,
we got to pull off the first one.
Now they didn't know what we were coming to do.
We didn't come saying,
science and wonders,
Christian event,
come here about Jesus.
We came totally masked,
because that's what evangelist does.
And so we show up,
and I bring my skateboard,
I go to the school,
and I pop into the school,
and I'm like, hey,
who wants to see me jump over your principal?
And all the kids are like,
oh, like all these kids in Haiti are going crazy,
because they want to see me jump over their principal,
really what they want to see me
is mess up and hurt their principal, right?
Can we all be honest?
Yeah, they want to see how me get smoked.
But I'm like,
I'm going to jump over him.
And so what I do is I grab my skateboard,
and I'm pretending like I don't know what I'm doing.
And I take like a couple of paddles,
and I trip myself on purpose,
I fall on the ground,
and I'm like,
oh, everyone's like,
oh, now they're all scared
that I'm really going to smoke their principal.
And so I get the board,
and I actually end up jumping over him,
and they're all like,
oh, do another one,
so that I do two people,
then three people, then four people,
and it's like a party in Haiti.
So Christophe comes up,
he starts freestyle,
starts rapping,
and then we tell them at the end,
like, hey,
we want to invite you,
and they don't see me jump over more people.
They're all like,
oh, I'm like, okay, come tonight,
you'll see me jump over more people tonight,
and bring your families,
bring your friends,
bring everyone you know,
so that night we have hundreds of people show up.
We come out and preach the gospel,
and I want you to chat with me.
I'm sharing this story for a reason.
I want you to chat with me.
Let's say,
I go,
and night one,
we saw a bunch of people get healed.
Say, I come,
and I'm like, okay,
we want to pray for the sick.
If you need healing,
can you raise your hand in the air,
and I always say,
and I always feel like,
let's just say,
this isn't what happened,
it's just a lot of people
that we pray for to get healed,
all get healed that night.
Okay?
That's awesome.
I love that.
I'm for that.
But if I don't preach the gospel,
those healed bodies will still go to hell.
Night two,
we did deliverance.
So we're like,
there's a God that breaks change.
He's the power of God.
While we do this epic pitch
on the power of God,
we do an altar call.
It was crazy, guys.
Like, sometimes crazy stuff happens in the nations.
This lady comes with a wire,
starts whipping people in the neck,
trying to get them out of the altar call,
because she's a witch.
And like, this guy fully demonizes.
He throws out his arm,
starts clotheslining people
over through the altar call.
I mean, it's just like bananas.
Okay?
It's like total chaos.
But we're going after you.
People are sleeping on the floor,
like snakes.
There's a video somewhere on my Instagram.
Women's like slithering everywhere,
like a snake.
And so we're like grabbing bodies,
and we're carrying them over
into the side.
We're casting demons out of people.
Let's just say,
we cast the demons out of every single person.
I think like,
at any given moment,
those probably like 50 to 6 people
getting delivered at once that night.
But let's just say,
we cast demons out of every single person,
but we never preach the gospel.
Now, let me drill it in,
because I see people with some puzzled looks.
You're like,
what's this guy talking about?
Let me help you.
If I go out,
and I share my testimony,
but I didn't preach the gospel,
I didn't do evangelism,
I testified.
Go a little further.
If I go out and I pray for the sick,
and I don't preach the gospel,
I did not do evangelism,
I did healing ministry.
If I go out to do evangelism,
and I do deliverance and cast demons,
but I don't preach the gospel,
I did deliverance ministry.
If I go out and I give words of knowledge
and prophetic words to a bunch of people,
but I don't preach the gospel,
I didn't do evangelism,
I did prophetic ministry.
If I go out and I feed the homeless,
which I love doing,
I love doing all these,
but if I go out and I feed the homeless,
and I don't share the gospel,
I didn't do evangelism,
I did mercy ministry.
Am I against these?
No. Am I for them?
Yes. Do I encourage you to do them?
Yes. All of them.
All of them.
I encourage you to do all of them.
A company by the preaching of the gospel.
Let me explain why.
Prophetic.
I'm not bashing on the prophetic.
I love the prophetic.
I flow in the prophetic.
We're going to train on it tomorrow.
I'm all about the prophetic.
I love the prophetic.
But Scripture says that the prophetic
is to edify, to encourage, to strengthen,
to build up.
Okay, so if I go to a lost person,
and I'm like,
hey, I just feel like God's saying
he's so proud of the way you're living your life.
Like, he delights in you.
He sees the decisions you're making.
And he's just like,
I'm so proud of the way that you are living.
And you're such a loved, desired son of God.
If this homey is like,
in the deepest, darkest morality ever.
Right?
Homey's like a pimp.
Homey's selling drugs.
Homey's like,
harming his partner at home,
whether it's a guy or a girl,
he's harming his partner,
whatever it is.
Right?
He's like steeped in immorality.
And I come flowing in the prophetic
without the gospel.
There's no confrontation to sin.
There's only affirmation of behavior.
This is why I can't just flow in the prophetic
and the gifts with the loss.
I have to preach the gospel.
What does the gospel do?
When Jesus died on the cross,
there was two men next to him,
one to his left, one to his right,
one of them rejected him,
one of them accepted him.
Welcome to evangelism.
You are creating a crossroads.
And that person's life.
You're telling them,
this is the truth.
And you have a choice right now.
Will you be the person to his left
that rejected him?
Or will you be the person to his right
that accepted him?
Which person in the story
are you going to choose to become?
We're putting a cross in front of their face
and we're creating a crossroads in their life.
And their life,
they get to determine am I going to accept or reject?
I'm confronting sin.
Let me know, hey,
there's a way out of your life.
So, why do we preach the gospel?
Because without the proclamation of the gospel,
there's no confrontation to darkness.
People are like,
oh, you don't have to preach the gospel.
Just go feed the homeless people and smile.
They're going to know you love them.
Friends, there are satanists
that can smile at a homeless person
with a nicer grill than you.
And that does not teach them that God loves them.
That's not going to change anyone's life.
The gospel changes lives.
Jesus changes lives.
And how will they know unless we tell them?
Okay?
So, evangelism.
What is evangelism?
Preaching the gospel.
That's what we're saying,
yes, when we say yes, evangelism.
We're going to preach the gospel.
Now, I want to give one last thing before we jump into this.
There's a tool.
John Piper did this epic study.
Just to help alleviate some pressure
of needing to see people,
everyone gets saved.
John Piper did a study.
They did a study on like,
thousands of believers.
And they were able to come up to the conclusion
that the average, okay,
there's not like a formula like,
if I share with you seven times in a row,
you're going to say yes to seven times.
That's not what I'm saying.
But the average person says yes to the gospel
around the seventh time of fully hearing the message of the gospel,
like the unpacking of the gospel,
around the seventh time.
Some more, some less, some the first, some the hundredth, right?
But the average is seven times,
this was a desiring God study,
the around seventh time of hearing the gospel,
the person's heart will be tenderized enough to say yes.
So with that in mind,
let's just imagine,
you go up to someone,
and you share the gospel,
they make fun of you,
they ridicule you,
they call your names,
they say bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep,
and they put their middle finger up in your face,
and they threaten you,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
I'm honestly not,
I get stoked about those moments.
I feed off of it.
I'm like,
ah, let's go.
You want to know why?
Open your buy with me to Matthew 5.
Side, side comment.
Oh my gosh, this thing,
I'm going to break it.
Can I clip it to something?
I'll put it right there.
Okay, go with me to Matthew 5.
I'm going to help you.
I run across people all over the nations,
and they're like,
friendship, thank you so much for that teaching.
I do it every day.
I'm like, let's go.
Okay, check this out.
This is the Beatitudes.
If you don't know what the Beatitudes are,
they are the attitudes we should be.
It's that simple.
Okay, so,
go all the way down.
Obviously, we know these blessed with porn spirit,
blessed with this,
blessed with that, blessed with that.
Good event, verse 10.
It says,
blessed are those who are persecuted
because of righteousness.
I'm going to read that for the people in the back.
Blessed are those who are persecuted
because of righteousness.
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Who's is the kingdom of heaven?
People persecuted for righteousness.
I remember reading this one time,
and I'm like,
I don't have persecution in my life.
And the Lord goes,
because you've avoided it.
I said, no, but there's no persecution in America.
He goes, go to a LGBT parade
and try preaching gospel,
see if there's no persecution.
I said, holy smokes,
I am lying to myself,
and I am in sin.
There is persecution.
We just avoid it.
Blessed are those who are persecuted
because of righteousness.
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Friends, I promise you sign up for a life of angelism.
You will experience persecution.
It's part of the territory.
But you know what?
Blessed are you when you experience it
because yours is the kingdom of heaven.
Look at the next verse.
Blessed are you when people insult you.
When they persecute you.
When they falsely say all kinds of evil against you
because of me.
Look at Jesus says,
it's the audacity.
Rejoice and be glad.
Because great is your reward in heaven
for in the same way they persecuted the prophets
who were before you.
Listen to this.
Jesus like someone cussed you out.
Throw yourself a birthday party.
Go buy yourself some boba and celebrate the fact
you just got cussed out.
You just got threatened.
Let's go.
Go to Starbucks.
Buy yourself a nice ice cold of vanilla latte.
Celebrate that you just got threatened.
Is what Jesus is saying.
He's telling them, hey, celebrate.
Rejoice, be glad.
Throw yourself a little birthday party.
Throw yourself a little glory dance.
And some little bruises up a chain
as you fogo from the church.
To celebrate the fact that you just got cussed out
and threatened in a middle finger in your face.
Hallelujah.
Celebrate.
How many guys ever heard that preach before?
People are like, hey, you want blessings?
Go read your Bible every day and go pray every day.
My Bible says you want to be blessed.
Go get cussed out and salted and made fun of.
Here's what I do when these things happen.
I stood on a stage one time.
It was brutal.
In front of 4,000 skaters in Columbia.
National go skate dates like Easter for skaters.
And if the biggest go skate day in the world,
4,000 people are just a YouTube video somewhere around the internet.
I don't really keep up with that stuff.
But I jump up on a stage in front of 4,000 people.
I preach the gospel.
While I'm preaching, they're grabbing my shirt
and pulling me off the stage.
Okay, there's a long story.
I don't have time.
But they're like yanking me off the stage.
And so I hit the guys arm.
And I come back.
And I keep preaching in front of 4,000 non-Christians.
Okay, no one has a journal out.
Take a note.
There's no Bibles in anyone's hands.
No one's like, hello to your brother, amen.
No, there is middle fingers all over the air.
Okay, everyone's cussing me out.
Everyone's calling me the worst names you can think of.
And this guy's literally yanking me off of a stage.
In front of 4,000 people.
And I hit him and my friends come in like NBA pick him.
And they won't let him get by.
And the guy says,
get that idea off the stage.
We don't want to hear your religious crap.
And I'm like, I'm not here to talk to you about some dad dry religion.
I'm here to talk to you about the God of the universe.
Who cast demons, heals the sick, raises the dead.
And I'm here to tell you today.
And I start preaching the gospel.
In front of 4,000 people.
There is middle fingers all over the place.
People are blowing their weed smoke at me.
People are laughing at me, calling me.
Like all of them.
Okay, I get to the end.
And I'm like, if you want to give your life to Jesus,
today, put your skateboard in the air.
No skateboards.
The middle fingers increase.
The laughter increases.
The names increase.
Guys, I did not feel like Ryan Hartbunky.
I didn't feel like Billy Graham.
I felt like the biggest idiot on the whole entire earth.
I was like, I even started questioning God's character.
I'm like, God, why would you bring me all the way here for this?
This is what you wanted this to be.
And I'm like, on the stage, like walking back and forth,
and I'm having this wrestle with God,
because I was told that it would always be like cotton candy
and unicorns and easy.
And if it's hard, it's not God.
But Matthew 209 says, I will be with you until the end of the age.
Why in the world would we need God if it was easy?
The only reason we need Him with us is because it's hard.
You can do easy things without God.
Hobo-do-bang Him is going to require Him close.
And I was standing up here and I'm like, I feel so dumb.
These people are making fun of me.
I want to go home. I'm on the verge of tears.
I'm like, this is the worst misanship of my life.
I don't want to be here.
These are skaters.
I feel like in India, these are my people.
Why don't they like me?
And it's just like, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
All over my head.
And the Lord.
Has the altacity to say, do another alter-call.
And I'm like, no, they don't want you.
And he goes, do another alter-call.
I go, God, they don't want you here.
You guys are you ashamed?
You see, the Bible says, if you're ashamed of me,
I'll be ashamed of you in front of my father.
So Jesus says, red letters.
And I'm like, yeah, He says, do it again.
I'm like, I repent Lord.
Come on, guys.
I didn't spend thousands of dollars
and come to give away $10,000 of prizes
to come and speak a lie to you.
I flew here all the way from Hawaii,
all the way down to Columbia.
I'm not going to waste my time in my money to tell you a lie.
I'm here to tell you the truth.
This is real.
This is the truth.
The Bible says, if you're ashamed of Jesus on the earth,
He will be ashamed of you on judgment day
in front of His father.
If you want to give your, and I do another alter call,
put your skateboard in the air.
More cussing, more middle fingers.
I went from feeling like the biggest
nincompoop in the world to feeling like
the smallest nincompoop in the world.
Like, I was like an inch tall in that moment.
I was like, I don't feel anointed.
I don't feel cool.
I don't feel like, I feel like an absolute loser right now.
Like, I'm going to be on YouTube all over Columbia looking like
the biggest dork in the world.
Like, I'm about to get roasted by thousands of people
and it's going to get shared.
And there's going to be like thousands and thousands and thousands
and thousands of people roasting me all across South America
in the skate community.
I'm thinking the craziest stuff.
And I'm about to walk off the stage.
I'm like, I don't want to do this anymore.
And God says, do one more call.
And I go, God, I don't want to.
He says, yeah, but you're going to.
I'm like, no, God, please.
I don't want to.
I'm fighting tears because I feel so stupid.
There's this girl.
I'll never forget what she looks like.
I can't wait to see her and have it one day.
Please, Lord.
Red hair.
Never going to forget.
Like, she was right by the stage and was calling me the most
bolder things I had ever heard anyone call me before.
And I'm like stomping around.
I feel so dumb and I want to go home.
I don't even want to be in that country anymore.
And the Lord says, what if one said yes?
Is the $10,000 in prices, the thousands of dollars of flights,
the thousands of dollars of Airbnb and Uber costs and meals,
and all these different things that you just spent thousands
and thousands of dollars on, is it worth one soul?
And I start like almost here not because it's worth it.
The middle fingers, the cussing, the ridicule, the mocking.
My key, of course, man, one life change.
It's so worth it.
He says, do one more call and I'll give you one soul.
And I'm looking around, I'm like fine.
I'll do it.
And I look around and I don't know how to explain this to you,
other than like I knew who he was.
I don't know how to explain it.
It's like maybe the Lord showed me, like discernment.
But I'm looking at this guy and I know it's him.
And I'm like looking at him and I'm like locked eyes.
And it's like, I don't know how to explain it.
It felt like everyone disappeared and there was only one person
left in the crowd and it was him.
And it's like I'm looking at him and it's like we're piercing each other.
And I'm like, come on.
And I do like one crazy last call.
I'm like, who cares what people around you think?
You probably don't even know them.
Why does their opinion matter to you?
I promise you one thing.
Their opinion will not matter on judgment day.
There's only going to be one opinion that matters on judgment day.
When you're standing before Almighty God.
And today I'm giving you an opportunity to get your life right with God.
So on judgment day, that opinion is great.
Right now, if you want to give your life to Jesus,
put your skateboard in the end.
And I'm looking at that guy that's like we're like locked eyes.
And it's like, I don't know.
Obviously he can't hear me, but I'm convinced he can hear me.
I'm like, come on, bro.
I know it's you.
You do this.
Come on, man.
Come on, bro.
This is you.
It's all about you.
And you just do it.
And I'm looking at him and I'm like high up.
I'm on top of a nine foot skate ramp.
And this guy has a skateboard in his hand and his hand starts to shake.
Second Timothy 1, 7.
God did not give us a spirit of fear.
If he didn't give us that spirit, where did it come from?
He didn't give us that spirit, but sometimes we get bound by it.
God did not give us a spirit of fear, but it's sound mind self-control and power.
Sometimes we obey the voice of fear more than we obey the voice of the Father.
We're more bound and enslaved to fear than we are to righteousness.
And obedience to the Father.
And I remember that moment.
I'm looking at him and I know what's going on, man.
You're so afraid of what people are going to say.
You're so afraid of what people are going to think.
You're so scared right now.
And it's like I'm just looking at him and I'm like, come on, bro.
Come on, man.
No, no, no.
I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm talking to him.
I'm up.
And also, and he starts to put his hand up a little bit.
And I'm like, come on.
And then he goes, boom.
And throws a skateboard in the air.
And I'm like, yeah, I'm freaking out.
I have like no voice.
It's like my throat tastes like blood from screaming so much.
I'm like, yo, hey, this whole party was for you.
This whole thing was for you.
All tens of thousands of dollars of prizes is for you
because the Bible says when one sinner repents,
all of heaven celebrates.
And today there is a party in heaven for you.
And all of a sudden, another skateboard.
Boom.
And I'm like, and you do it for you.
Do it for both of you.
Boom.
And you.
Boom.
Boom.
Boom.
Before I know it, there are like hundreds.
I don't know how many.
There are skateboards in the air all across the crowd
ready to give their lives to Jesus.
Like, all you see is skateboards in the air.
And I'm like, let's go.
Let's pray.
Pray with me.
Pray with me.
No, no, this is not a church, right?
You're like, use to the whole like, hey,
if you want to give your life to Jesus,
this is a really embarrassing moment for you.
And so it's okay to be ashamed.
Like, don't, like, we're going to turn off the light
so that you don't have to be embarrassed in front of a bunch
of fellow Christians.
Okay.
So if that's you, don't even leave your hand in the air too long.
Just put up and put it down real quick.
Because like, it's okay to be ashamed of Jesus.
It's okay to be afraid of being saved.
You'll never have to do it in front of a Muslim.
You'll never have to do it in front of a atheist.
You'll never have to do it in front of a Hindu.
Like, you can just hide in this thing for the rest of your life
and never do anything productive with it.
So we're just going to disciple you into fear.
And we're going to disciple you into shame.
So we're going to turn off the light and let you be embarrassed
and ashamed of God.
And we're just going to ask you to put your hand out real quick
and put it real quick so that no one knows.
Because we don't want anyone to know that you got saved.
Like, just stay embarrassed.
It's so embarrassing.
Can we turn off the lights?
Lights are off.
It's like, if this is you, you don't have to use your mouth.
Just say it in your heart.
God sees your heart.
Just repeat this prayer after me.
And then we're like, why won't the American Church do evangelism?
Maybe because we disciple them into fear and shame of God.
As salvation.
It's like, we taught you that it's okay to be ashamed of God.
What are we thinking?
They don't know this stuff.
So I'm like, repeat after me.
Jesus.
And I'm like screaming as loud as I can.
They're not in church.
They don't know any different.
Half of them are drunk.
Jesus.
Like screaming their lungs out.
I'm like, yeah, I repent.
I repent.
It's like, so sick.
There's a recording of it on YouTube.
And you can hear the voice is chanting.
It just sounds like an ocean of wild skaters screaming at the top of their lungs.
So sick.
So I like get off the stage and I walk away.
And this old uncle comes up and he's weeping.
He goes, can I give you a hug?
And I'm like, sure, I'm all shaky from the moment.
He like hugs me.
He looks me in the eyes.
He goes, I've been coming to the skate park for decades.
I stand over there on the side.
For decades, I've been coming to the skate park, praying for something like this to happen one day.
He starts crying.
He says, I can go to the skate park.
He starts crying.
He says, I can go be with Jesus now.
My assignment is fulfilled.
This was my assignment to see this before I died.
It's like in his 80s.
All means like weeping.
And I'm like, oh my gosh.
I just like, I'm like, hold on.
We're both crying.
He looks me.
He goes, the hardest pill for me to swallow.
The hardest part for me is that I always believed it would be one of my own people.
But it took someone coming from the outside to be obedient to God.
And he says, don't stop.
Keep going.
Who cares what they say?
Who cares how they treat you?
Who cares what they think?
Keep going.
I'm like shaking.
I walk into the car, sit down.
My buddy's like, bro, that was so awesome.
I'm like, that was crazy.
He goes, well, we're going about 20 minutes down the road.
And there's a skate park with more people.
And you're going to do that all over again.
And I'm like, oh my gosh.
Same thing happened basically all over again.
It was just a little easier to handle because I had already done it once.
It was like an hour earlier.
That day, we saw over 1,000 people give the elect to Jesus at skate parks.
The harvest is plentiful.
The laborers are few.
I didn't feel strong.
I didn't feel mighty.
I didn't feel anointed.
I feel like a loser.
I feel like an idiot.
But I want to help you with something.
Are people going to make fun of you?
Yeah, who cares?
You don't know them.
It's not going to ruin your life.
When I read this passage and it says,
rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in heaven.
I'm going to be real with you.
This is the Frenchie world.
Maybe you've heard Dan Balmond speak.
Dan Land.
This is Frenchie world.
Obviously, you can tell I'm a little weird.
I'm almost 40 years old.
I'm just weird.
I grew up weird.
I've always been weird.
Normal to me has always been a customer.
So I'm just weird.
I'm okay with that.
But my imagination is crazy.
I don't know if it's from years of drug use or years of LSD.
I don't know.
My imagination is just like crazy.
It's just like I live in another world inside of this world.
And when I imagine what my rewards in heaven are,
I don't know what you've ever asked God.
I don't know if you've ever had that conversation.
Like, Lord, this says I get rewards in heaven.
I want to talk about what my rewards are going to be.
I know there's people like God.
I want a Bugatti.
And I want to live in like a huge castle with my grandma next door
so we can play chess every night.
Like, I don't know what people ask me for.
But I imagine that when we get to heaven, friends,
I'm going to be nowhere near the throne.
I just don't think I'm going to be close.
Especially because there's people from China
that got like their fingernails pulled out
and like their heads cut off and like sawed in half
for believing in Jesus.
And there's people in North Korea who like were burned alive
for believing in Jesus.
And there are people like in the Middle East who watch their children
get crucified on fire at nine years old for believing in Jesus.
And I'm over here like, well, I don't want to lose a follower on Instagram
so I don't know if I'm going to go public with my face.
So I'm just like, I just don't think I'm going to be that close
to the feet of the king when there's people that literally got their heads
like twisted off of their body for believing in Jesus.
Like, I'm like, no, they deserve it way more than me.
Like, let them have the feet, they paid a high cost to get there.
And I was just trying to play it safe on Instagram
and not wanting to lose followers.
Like, I don't deserve to be up there.
Like, they deserve it.
They like did some crazy stuff.
Like drag behind horses alive and sawing in half.
Like, go read about all the disciples.
All of them had the craziest death.
Crucified upside down.
Like, tried to dunk John in oil and he somehow came out alive
so they exiled him to Patmos.
Like, just crazy stuff.
Right?
I'm like, there's no way, man.
Like, they're going to be way closer than me.
Even says in the revelation that the martyrs have a special seat.
Like, I think the front row is the special sheet for the martyrs.
Right?
And so I just imagine I'm going to be like way back probably behind
like all the Chinese, all the North Korean, all the Africans.
Like, everyone that Nigerians and like those from Pakistan
and Afghanistan, I'm going to be like, way in the back.
But like, I still want to touch his feet.
Like, I still want to get close.
I'm like, hey, I don't know how to get up there.
So here's what I'm asking for in private.
Are you ready for this?
My wife and I play Monopoly deal.
We love Monopoly deal.
We played all time.
I was just playing before I came and smoked right.
I hope you hear this recording right.
I smoked you about an hour ago.
Monopoly deal because I'm the champion.
But anyways, I play Monopoly deal all the time.
And I play with my wife.
Now, I know like real Monopoly, you get like that.
You may pass go, collect $200 pass, right?
And you get to like skip the whole board.
And you get to go all the way back to the front.
Okay.
I want you to enter my weird imagination world with me.
Here's my prayer.
God, I know that there's other Christians that are like
asking for like a house in front of the beach.
And there's other Christians that are asking for like,
I don't know, like a lot of gold in heaven
and some are like impressed with gold driveways
and they want a gold driveway at their house.
And whatever other people want, like,
begotts and limousines and nice weather.
I don't really care about any of this stuff.
I don't want any of that stuff.
Lord, I want to be close to your feet.
But I know that I don't deserve to be close
because of all those people.
If there's any way that every time someone cusses me out
or gives me a middle finger or threatens me or makes fun of me
or ridicules me or insults me,
Lord, I pray that every time that happens,
I just get another you may skip the line pass.
Like, I'll take all the middle fingers in the world,
all the F bombs in the world, all the make fun of's in the world,
all the insults and ridicules.
If it means that every time they come,
I get a skip the line pass.
So, like, in my imagination, this is like what I'm praying for.
I'm praying that I get to heaven.
And I took so many middle fingers to the face
and so many F bombs to the face that I like get there
and I open up my pillow case.
And it's like, just like, psh.
Like, I'm making it rain, skip the line passes.
And I'm like, yeah!
I open my drawer and it's just like, skip the line passes.
And I'm like, standing on my bed, like, throwing skip the line passes
everywhere.
And in those moments, we're like,
we're all gathered around the Holy Holies and like,
Paul and all the disciples and like,
the persecutor church are all at the front.
And I like, grab one of my passes.
And I'm just like, walking pass.
I'm like, hey, guys, hey, excuse me.
Sorry.
I have a pass.
I have a pass.
I read about you.
And Bob Fox's book of the martyrs.
I have a pass.
I have a pass.
Paul, bro.
I know.
It's a pass.
I didn't do anything.
That's the tsunami alarm.
That means the Lord is literally pouring out
tsunamis of passes right now.
Hallelujah.
Okay, I'm going to give you a real quick thing.
I went way over on my time.
I'm going to give you a quick thing.
And tomorrow, we're going to open class with preaching the
gospel.
So come ready.
Come in your preaching shoes and your preaching clothes.
We're going to get rowdy as soon as class starts.
I'm going to give you a tool that I've used with kids.
Actually, you know what?
Do we go there?
Yeah, let's go there.
Oh, I never got to this.
Let me end with this.
Green.
Okay.
Okay, check this out.
I never got to this.
I left you hanging.
Okay, look.
This is epic.
I forgot.
Sorry, I'm kind of all over the place.
The average person says yes to Jesus around the 10th time.
Okay, I want you to imagine you just caught a negative 10.
You got cussed out.
You got made fun of.
But the word of God never returns void.
So I want to give you intel from the other side.
Okay, I was a jug addict for 12 years.
I was the person cussing out evangelist.
I was a person making fun of evangelists.
One of the reasons I'm so passionate about evangelism is because I
would go to raves and there would be like an old uncle out there
with a water bottle, a cooler full of water bottles being like,
you want a free water?
Yeah, those things are $8 inside.
I'll take one and grab it.
I'm like rolling on Molly, rolling on LSD.
I'm all like drugged up.
Drinking this free water.
He goes, hey, real quick.
Can I pray for you?
I'm like, I'm good, man.
I don't really want that stuff.
And then they would share the gospel with me.
I remember one time I got thrown in jail.
I walk in jail.
And I'm sitting there in this Mexican dude with hair down his waist.
He goes, why are you here?
I go, I don't know, man.
I don't even do anything wrong.
They just pulled me over for no reason.
And they saw how to warrant.
And I'm like, hey, watch out, bro.
I'm trying to sit down.
And he goes, no, bro.
You're here for a reason.
I'm like, really, what reason?
He goes, you see, I owed money.
But I get my life to Jesus Christ.
I'm a disciple of Jesus Christ.
And I sat here and I said, God, I'll go pay with time
if you send me someone that needs to hear the gospel.
So I've been sitting here waiting for you
because God told me the person that came
was the person that needed to hear.
So you're here because God sent you here to hear the gospel.
That's why you got arrested for no reason.
God sent you here to hear the gospel.
He starts sharing the gospel.
I'm like, bro, whatever.
And I go sit down in my bed.
He goes, watch this, bro.
Guaranteed in like 30 minutes because I did my assignment.
They're going to come and call me out.
I'm like, whatever.
Like 30 minutes later, like Mr. Rodriguez.
He's like, he starts getting up out of his bed.
He's like, toad you dog and he walks out in the door closes.
I'm like, dang, bro, what?
So like, I was literally haunted by the Holy Ghost
the whole time I was lost.
It's like everywhere I'd go, there was evangelist on assignment.
It was like, it's like in the spirit.
Ever I went, there was like a flag on top of my head.
And he just like called all the evangelists to me.
I would go to rape after rape after rape.
And there'd be people walking up.
They didn't even look like Christians.
They looked like way narrower than me.
Like face tats, crazy, huge septum rings, crazy gauges.
Like super gnarly looking.
And they'd walk up and be like, hey, can you want to go out
side smoke cigarette?
I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, let's go, bro.
I got a side like light up a cigarette.
I'm like, oh, you want one?
I'm like, oh, no, I don't smoke.
I'm like, why don't you ask me to come out side smoke cigarette?
I'm like, oh, because the Holy Spirit highlighted you.
See, I'm an evangelist.
And I'm here on assignment because the Lord told me to come
because someone need to hear the gospel.
I'm like, dude, you have got to be kidding me right now.
It was like everywhere I went, there was evangelist on assignment.
And so I'm thankful for assignments because what I'm about
to share with you is so real.
You might come across a negative 10.
Maybe you're in Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan or wherever you're at.
And maybe you come across a radical Muslim that wants nothing to do with Jesus.
And you share the gospel and he's a negative 10.
But what you don't realize is that because the Word of God never returns void,
that night your voice might be on repeat in their mind.
Because they're realizing that the Quran is a joke and it's a lie.
And everything that came out of your mouth was truth.
And they're laying there and they're like, what in the world?
What is this?
Why can't I get this person's voice out of my head?
And they're like thinking about it over and over and over.
And what you don't realize, you walk away and you're like, gosh,
they didn't get saved.
I feel so defeated.
I feel so like such a loser.
Like I wasn't victorious.
No, you are victorious.
That's a lie from the pit of hell.
You don't realize that you took that person from a negative 10
by partnering with Jesus in your obedience all the way to maybe a negative five
without them or you knowing it.
And let's just say the next day, some nine-year-old kid that's a local Christian
is trying evangelism for his very first time and you were at his church
and Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan, and you're there at his church doing a gospel training
and you teach him how to preach the gospel.
That kid goes to the same exact coffee shop where you were sharing with the guy
the day before at the same time.
And he goes and shares almost the same exact message.
And that guy's going, what in the world two days in a row, this must be God.
And where you felt defeated, little Jimmy John gets to step in or a little,
whatever his name is, whatever their names are.
He goes and shares the gospel and he shares with that guy.
And he gets to see this negative five become a plus five.
And he gets to reap the fruit of salvation.
You thought you were unsuccessful but you have no idea that you were the one
jackhammering the stone first.
Oh, I get pumped about being the first.
When I say, have you ever heard the gospel and someone says, no, I'm like,
it's you.
I'm like, I need to be the first.
You're going to remember me for the rest of your life.
I'm going to haunt your sleeping hours.
My face will be in your head for the rest of your life.
Literally, they'll never forget the first time they heard it.
That's me.
I can tell you every single story of every single person that found me while I was
lost and shared the gospel and they're stained in here.
And I cannot find an alt-control delete button.
They're there forever.
So I think it's because we're supposed to thank them when we get to heaven.
But I want to encourage you, sometimes because we don't see the salvation,
we get discouraged.
Don't get discouraged.
Get stoked that you were one of the first to break the fellow ground.
Is this helpful?
There are going to be moments where you will experience like a plus, a negative eight.
Oh, just so you understand, this is like a hater of God.
This is like that kind of neutral moment where I'm like, yeah, I believe that Jesus is God.
I'm like willing to try and give my life.
And there's like that little bit of faith, but it's not like the like, I'm going to lay down my life forever.
And then this is like you guys, like wild revivalist wants to do evangelism, wants to read the whole Bible.
Loves God, loves worship, loves prayer, loves discipleship, loves accountability, loves all the things that scripture talks about.
This is you guys.
So there's going to be moments where you will stumble across these and then you share and then they jump over to like a plus eight.
They're rare.
They're far and few between, but they do happen.
And this is the way I describe it.
If you will commit to the dailies, you'll get to experience the sudden lease.
You hear that?
If you will commit to the dailies, you will get to experience sudden lease.
One time I was walking around California, I was at a party with like, I don't know, 40,000 people, 50,000 called students.
And we're walking around.
There's this guy, he's a Satanist, Mexican dude.
And he's like, oh yeah, worship Satan.
And I'm like, why that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
He goes, what do you mean?
I go, bro, that's so dumb.
You worship Satan.
That's a joke.
He's a creation.
Why would you worship a creation when you can worship the creator?
He goes, what are you trying to say to me?
I said, let me see your coke.
He had a coke.
I go, here you go, dog.
This is a creation.
Why don't you bow down on worship that?
Well, as a creation, so is Satan, bro.
You're literally worshiping creation.
What a waste of your time.
Go straight to the source, bro.
You can know God.
Say he's just going to destroy life.
God is going to help you.
He's going to transform me.
He's going to make you who he intended you to be.
Christ like.
He goes, what, you think God's just going to forgive me?
And I go, no, I don't think so.
I know so.
I know he will forgive me.
And he's like, well, how come every Christian I've ever met tells me that I'm going to hell?
I go, well, maybe every Christian you've ever met doesn't understand the mercy of God.
And if there's anyone here that deserves to go to hell, it's me, brother.
And so if I know I'm not going to hell, then no reason why you should have to go to hell,
either if you're willing to give your life to Jesus.
Because not about what we do.
It's about what Jesus did.
And he's like, all right.
What do I got to do?
I got to hear me out.
I share the gospel with him.
I go, you down to do this?
He goes, yeah.
I go, you want to give your life to Jesus?
He goes, yeah.
All right.
Come over here and stay in the grass because you're probably going to fall over.
And he's like, what do you mean I'm going to fall over?
I said, bro, you said you worship Satan.
What are you afraid of?
He goes, yeah.
So there's a video on my Instagram.
It's sick.
Like all you see is the aftermath.
But I go here, bro.
Check this out.
So word of advice.
Don't close your eyes when you're doing evangelism.
You don't know what they're going to do.
Okay.
Like sometimes they punch or whatever.
They're demonized.
Just don't know where in the Bible from.
It's a revelation.
Does it say by your head, close your eyes?
We just made that up so that we don't get distracted.
But it doesn't make you more holy.
Okay.
I pray while I'm driving.
And if I bow my head and close my eyes while I'm driving, I'm dead.
It doesn't make you more holy.
It's just to remove distractions.
So for them, tell them to bow their head and close your eyes.
You keep your eyes open.
You need to be aware what's going on.
Okay.
So I tell this guy, hey, go ahead and buy your head, close your eyes.
This is why I'm saying this.
He's standing there and all of a sudden he's like, I go.
In the name of Jesus, everything dark.
I command you to come out.
Holy spray.
I pray.
He's like, what is this?
It starts throwing up.
And I'm like, let's go.
I'm like, all of it, Lord.
All of it.
He's like, bro, what's wrong with you?
He's like, I haven't drank alcohol.
All of it, Lord.
I'm like, all of it, Lord.
All of them come out.
I get to pray with him.
He surrenders his whole life to Jesus.
He starts crying.
He encounters Holy Spirit.
I pray for him to get filled with the Holy Spirit.
He gets baptized in the Holy Spirit.
It's amazing.
He's like hugging me.
He's like, man.
What was that?
I go, bro, that was darkness.
Literally getting its butt kicked by light.
That's what just happened.
I go, hey, bro, just for fun.
Would you mind sticking your finger in that and see if it bites?
He looks me and goes, bro, you got problems.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
You got problems.
I know.
You don't touch.
Don't touch.
Don't touch.
But there's a video on my Instagram.
That moment is one of those like negative 10 plus 8s.
But what I'm not telling you is the thousands of moments where it's like a negative 8 to a
negative 7 or a negative 10 to a negative 9, but when you live the daylies, you will get
to experience the suddenlies.
If you will give your life to the daylies, I promise you'll see the suddenlies.
And they're so fun.
Okay.
they're wild, they're so fun.
So I was going to go into gospel training but I don't have time so I'm just going to end
with this verse.
Flip with me to Matthew 4 and then I'm going to close.
I think I had too much coffee so I spoke too much but you were supposed to be preaching
today, I repent.
But come ready tomorrow, you're going to preach a lot.
Okay, go to Matthew chapter 4, we're going to go down to verse 19, yes, okay.
So this is Jesus, he just got baptized by his cousin John, comes out of the water,
spirit takes him into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, comes out victorious obviously
and then he starts putting together his squad so he's like, all right, who's going to be
my click, who's going to roll with me and glory.
So he starts putting together his little team and as he's putting them together, he gives
the first call to discipleship, okay.
This is where he explains to his disciples that are going to roll with him what discipleship
is.
Check this out, he says verse 19, this is Jesus, okay.
He's saying to disciples, come, follow me, Jesus said and I will make you fishers of men.
Let me ask you a question, what's a fisher of men, an evangelist.
What's Jesus' first call to discipleship?
Come roll with me and I'm going to make you evangelists.
Come roll with me, we're going to preach the gospel, we're about to see the lost get saved.
Why?
I believe there's a couple of reasons, if you look at the story, he calls Andrew and Peter
who have brothers and he calls James and John, these are the first four he recruits out
of his team of 12.
That means one third of his squad are fishermen, because all four of them are fishermen.
So he picks the first four dudes that roll with him out of a squad of fishermen.
So I believe there's a purpose, I believe there's a reason and I'm going to explain it.
Because fishermen understand the principle of fishing till you catch.
I believe this is why Jesus chose fishermen first to lay the foundation of what it would
look like to roll with him.
I don't like fishing, my dad used to take me fishing when I was a kid.
I hated it.
I was like, we never caught anything.
I think that's why I didn't like it.
I like catching.
I don't like fishing.
And if you're a fisherman, you know the difference.
Fishing is like, mosquitoes, I'm like, oh, it's so hot, oh, let's find some shade, it's
so hot over here.
Mosquitoes, and then sometimes you catch, right, unless you're like super good, then you
know exactly where, when you can catch all time.
These guys are professional fishermen.
James and John, their dad is Zebedee, he's fishermen by trade, they were raised in this,
they're good at this, they know what they're doing.
I believe Jesus picked them because they would be able to impart the reality that a fisherman
doesn't go home until a fisherman's bringing dinner home, right, fishermen, they know this
is their job.
Like, I do not pay the bills, I do not put dinner on the table until I catch.
So I'm going to cast until I catch.
And I believe there's a principle in this because people think, oh, every time you go out
and share the gospel, people get saved.
I go, no, it's that I keep casting until I find my catch.
That's why it sounds like everyone I preach to get saved, but I talked to a hundred people
and a hundred and first, first was finally the one that said yes.
But I just kept casting, kept casting, kept casting until I caught, okay, and so I want
to kind of close it with this.
Jesus could have said, come follow me, I'll make you theologians.
He could have said, come follow me, I'll make you pastors of mega churches.
He could have said, come follow me and I'll make you prophets.
Come follow me, I'll make you apostles.
Come follow me, I'll make you X, Y, Z.
But instead, he chose something else.
He said, come follow me and I'll make you evangelists.
Why?
Because if we don't know how to fish for souls, we'll fish them into all of our programs
and never leave them to Jesus.
And this is the problem we have today where we're using donuts and coffee to try to win
the lost instead of using the gospel to win the lost.
If we led them to Jesus outside of the church, they wouldn't come to church for a donut.
They would come to church for Jesus.
Why would an unregenerated person want to go to the house of God if he's not regenerated?
And not regenerated.
It is not our pastor's job to preach the gospel to our friends.
It is our job to know how to preach the gospel, lead them to the Lord and bring them the
church to get discipled.
So I believe the reason set, Jesus says, first things first, you're going to row with me.
I'm going to teach you how to bring people to me is because then the church is established
on people leading people to the king.
Instead of come, I have an epic small group, come, I have an epic band at my church, come,
I have really nice carpet, come, I have really ice cold water fountains, come, I have really
comfortable seats, and we make everything the thing that brings people in other than just
the simplicity of them falling in love with Jesus.
I believe this is why he said that.
I'm going to end with the joy Dawson quote, joy Dawson, prophet of Wyoming, she passed
away already, she, I read, I listened to a sermon on this verse by her one time and she
said this, young men, young ladies, I want to ask you a question, Matthew 419, Jesus said,
come and follow me and I will make you fishes of men.
I want to ask you a question, are you fishing for men?
Because if you're not, it's clear you're not following him.
Jesus, we love you so much, Lord, we thank you for this week, God, we pray that you would
annoy us and empower us with the proclamation of the gospel and that we would be those
that lay down our lives for global harvest, not for three months, for the next hundred
years of our human existence, Lord, that we would go for broke until the day we're face
to face with you and that we would put all the chips at the center of the table.
Lord, we just say we're not going to let the devil be more passionate about souls than
we are.
Yes, to a burden for souls and a burden for the gospel to go forth into the nations.
In Jesus' name, amen.
