Oh, what's going on, everybody? Welcome to episode 1200 and eight of flow wrestling radio live from Austin, Texas. I'm your host, Christian piles joined by the usual crew. We're all back. We're here at 301 Austin. Maybe possibly for the very last time. I've been threatening a departure from our lobby. And I think those threats are going to be made good on Thursday. We're not going to have. We're going to be in our
new fancy studio Thursday. And yeah, so that'll be that's going to be great to the far right. We've got Andrew Spay. He's not on camera. I'm making Nikki look like a failed producer right now because he's running around in the back. I can't see him. There he is. That's extreme close up. Nikki still fumbled that he tried to the right. There's JD in frame. He's all denim today. You know, man, he's working class blue collar through and through.
To the left, America snake charmer. John Kozak has a snake. My daughter Natalie was over at the Kozak this weekend while we were at the state tournament. And you got a snake problem. Yeah, rattlesnake. Carrie went outside to the car. I said, Oh, there's a snake out there. All the girls came out with me. I'm like, guys, get away. And I'm like, I'm pretty sure it's a rattlesnake. And Adeline, she like, she's in the snakes. She kind of has memorized all the, all the different.
Snakes and she's like, yeah, that's it. That's a rattlesnake. So then we sent them inside. I tried to, uh, I didn't have anything to really kill it with. I had a broom that I had brought out with me.
I feel like keep it at distance. And it started slithering away. And I, I whacked at it, but I missed it and ran away. It slithered away.
So you'd have a gun. I did not know have a snake gun. I don't have a gun. No. Wow. I'm glad the snakes survived. As a, yeah, I'm not as a herbivore. I wish it was dead. Just like Gabe Arnold.
Hmm. No, all the snakes to be happy. You don't want, when Gabe has children, he doesn't want a rattlesnake in his yard. I can promise you that.
All right. Well, keep us, keep us posted on snake gate. I will 2026. Okay. Big, big week in wrestling, ton to get into. It is conference week. If you didn't see Shane Sparks tweeted that we're going to have the big 10 presees today, 11 am central 12 Eastern noon.
That's big. So I don't know. We're going to try to have a video up.
You know, when those drop, that's obviously going to be huge, huge topic of discussion. And of course, I don't know if we've talked about the big 10 seating criteria or not on this show.
We've been mentioned a little bit. And it's going to, it's going to make some, some weird seeds a few. I think it's going to be mostly right.
But the thing that is going to make the seeds weirdest and maybe less congruent with like reality is the RPI. And a lot of really good wrestlers, Angel Ferrari being one or not going to have RPI.
RPI is 10% of the of the overall seating formula. And so with that, it's going to, it's, it holds pretty significant weight. So I think we're going to see some seeds that are be like, well, that doesn't quite make sense.
And it's usually going to be the guys that have not wrestled a lot. And so just be ready for that. I think that will be, I think Angela's seed is going to be the most affected and incongruo with reality.
But it'll make for great discussion. So I don't know where exactly he's going to be. And we don't know exactly what angel is going to do. Right. And we got a question even about this.
Like, what is Angela going to wrestle at the conference tournament? Or is he just going to get to the allocation or the qualification and then forfeit out.
And I would say I don't know. And I would also say we have seen Iowa in particular be cautious within these scenarios. Right. Like remember at 2022 big tens, Cassiope, Ironman.
And I think Kimmer, maybe, maybe bull, maybe not, but they forfeited out of big tens after reach like Tony made the finals and then forfeited and maybe Ironman as well. So anyways, we've seen Iowa in the past be like, no, we'll get to the tournament.
And then we'll, we'll try to get right for that. So I would be, if I'm an Iowa fan or if you're an angel of Ferrari fan, I would be open to that possibility.
But of course, we're all hoping we get to see angel of that entire tournament.
Are you a fan of seating, I don't know if I put this, of seating formulas instead of a person seating it, even though sometimes it will spit out weird ones like this where common sense would say, hey, maybe I would see it or a person wouldn't see it this way.
Yeah, I think I personally think people will always see it better than the machines.
But it's, it's a lot easier to stand behind. This actually wasn't a person. This is, we just all agreed that this is the formula and what, what it spits out it spits out.
So I, I kind of like the human element, because I think that'll be the closest. Maybe you have a machine to get it started, like it's, okay, this is close.
And then you make, there's a couple that that stand out and you fix those.
Well, that's what they do with NCA to a degree.
You can only move guys so many.
Yeah, Carter Stratchee was still like an eight or nine seed when he won his fourth title.
I've got the, the big 10 seeding formula, Nikki. I don't know if you can, if you can pull it up.
Let's go.
Yeah, you can see.
So head to head versus field is like the number one.
Yeah, there it is.
25 points and common opponents record.
25 conference dual record, 20 quality matches.
10 points, RPI 10, coaches ranking five, allocation five.
So like, I think we talked about this before, but there's, there's some of those that are a little bit redundant in my opinion, where it's like the conference dual record had to head versus field record.
And then common opponents, I don't know, I feel like those, those three are a little bit, a little bit redundant for the.
It's crazy, not crazy, but RPI counting double the coaches ranking doesn't make much sense to me.
I mean, it's like the rankings are more based on like the wrestling results than RPI, which is, you know, a little more Matthew.
Spade, can you like in 15 seconds explain like RPI, like what goes into it?
Yeah, basically, it's just, it's just your record and then the record of your opponents.
And then your opponent's opponents, I believe it goes one more out than that.
But yes, just wins and losses. And I agree that, you know, the coaches rankings, which is a lot of times will mirror what different ranking services, including flows provide.
And that would be probably from the fan perspective, the most accurate. But at the end of the day, as long as everything is spelled out ahead of time, I feel like that is at least the very minimum.
You want to say, okay, these seeds don't make sense, but at least this was what they were derived from, right?
Yeah, like you want to have it out there.
Yeah, I do like that they have conference dual record included, because then it punishes you for sitting out a door or ducking.
And so I do like, like they're adding value to the dual meat, the conference dual meats. I think that's a really good thing.
So in some ways, I do like that there's, there's a criteria.
I will say, I believe, and there's a Twitter back and forth a couple of weeks ago about the 33 seeds and what would happen with Lucas Bird.
And, you know, Shane was adamant, he'll be the one seed. And I said, I don't think he's going to be. And now, that's because I knew about the criteria.
And I think I'm almost positive. Marcus blaze could be the one seed at big 10s for 133 pounds.
Bird the two, Davino three would be my guess. And yeah, you need to be blind to the previous year. And that's.
And coaches ranking, which is one of birds advantages is only 5% of the entire thing. So I think I think Marcus will be the top seed, which is a huge advantage at.
Because basically, if you're the two or three, basically, you have to wrestle two big 10 finals to win, not not trying to besmirch the four seeds and five seeds.
But there's just a, there's going to be a drop off from Davino to the, to the four, at least based on what we've seen so far this year.
I mean, that's, that's 33. So birds in that position now where he's an undefeated returning national champ. And so most fans will say, obviously, this guy hasn't lost since he won a national championship.
So how could he be anything but the number one seed, but it's the formula in the coaches rankings.
Well, while we're on the topic, bird Illinois worth mentioning, poetic officially out.
Unfortunately, I know, you know, there's a lot of speculation of what happened there.
But that's very drawn out process to for that to hang over the team this entire time.
I think Jeremy Hunter is a super obvious and great guy to continue what's been a really good year for Illinois and a team on a good trajectory.
And Jeremy Hunter has been there for a long time and done a great job. 25 years, 25 years.
You know, I had heard like, you know, he that originally he was like, I don't want to be like, he wants to do his thing.
But I think sometimes whether you're ready or not, it's time. And I think for coach Hunter, I think he's going to do a great job there.
And you've seen no no regression, no drop in Illinois performance with a, you know, your head coach being out. That would, that would throw a lot of teams off.
So congrats to Jeremy. Unfortunate situation for Mike Poeta who I like and I thought was doing a good job.
It did seem like a lot of the pieces were coming together at the right time like that lineup is very strong top to bottom.
And they were doing good things like you said. So yeah, the timing was rough.
Get to the end of the season and now there's another change, but it's really just the confirmation or the continuation of what was going on.
Yeah, we'll talk more in depth on big 10s Thursday. Yeah on Thursday show after we get the seeds that are coming out today.
So today we're getting into the best weights and other conferences. We're going to start with big 12s.
Gang. We're going to start at top 125.
Really good way. I mean, big 12 is just such an awesome conference.
You're going to have Troy Spratley, Jet, Steve O or kind of like the big three in that weight class. I think Troy should win this.
Has has Troy separated himself.
If you lose his jet striken burger now, I'll just be like, you got to beat him now.
I know he's been like a big thorn in his side, but like jet is just not having the year. Maybe we thought Steve O looms, but I think I think it should it should be Troy here.
And I think I mean, he could be looking at a really nice seat at the national tournament if he wins if he wins big 12s.
And he's a key piece to the Oklahoma state run for a high finish this year. And I think he's wrestling well. I think he's had a I think he's had a really nice year.
125 is kind of I mean, it's always chaotic, but can be sneaky deep at big 12s, especially for guys like like jet who will will drop a match here there that you don't think they should.
Trevor Anderson, Mack Malger, Ezekiel Whitt, Brady Rork, like those are guys who have all Conrad Hendrickson. They've all had good results throughout the year.
That's like eight or so ranked guys at this weight class. Yeah. Yeah.
Just a lot of quality at at 125.
33. Can anybody test jacks in Tulsa?
We had a question about who's maybe under the radar for, you know, just the overall national scene.
And it feels like and now he's kept himself a little under the radar, but it feels like Kyler Larkin is a little not be he's under discussed in the freshman, you know,
with everyone's talking blaze and and jacks and side L.
It's like, well, who's beaten Kyler Larkin this year, right? And now sit out a couple big matches.
That's why so you know, he's kind of kept himself out of the conversation, but looked really good at Vegas.
We haven't seen the frost match, right?
No. That was the one we were supposed to get. Frost Larkins contractually obligated to not wrestle.
The frost and the Larkins have been circling each other. Yeah.
It was never meeting. Yeah. So I he's at he's looked really good this year.
Now what what what tempers my expectations with Kyler?
I think he can beat Evan Frost. I would pick him probably to beat Evan Frost, but we've seen the jacks match up.
And it's it's been squarely for for jacks as most matchups have been. So I feel like Kyler is one of those guys.
He's never going to match up well against jacks because jacks is great where Kyler's good.
Like the way Kyler needs to win is how jacks wins. So that's going to make it a challenge always.
But I'm excited for this weight. I think a Larkin forest final is electric.
You know, I want to give him frost a chance.
Is he going to be on the mat? Every week I hear sick hurt sick hurt sick hurt. He can't get on the mat.
So now you have no option to be on the mat now.
Well, maybe maybe you just go and you allocate and you don't.
I mean, I don't know. Maybe we'll see. I know I'm not giving him a shot.
I like Evan Frost. I think he's really, really good. But you are really high on Larkin then.
Oh, I'm giving him a shot. I thought you meant against jacks.
You said you just put Larkin in the final. No, I said I would pick Kyler to wrestle.
Even though they both miss some time, I would pick Kyler.
I'm curious what they do with seeds for 133, big 12s.
Yeah.
Because we haven't seen a lot of these matchups head to head with Frost Larkin forest.
And then Dom Serrano is kind of like a clear fourth best guy.
Yeah.
So yeah, you could see Serrano like challenge someone like Larkin.
Yeah. Dom's feisty. Dom can mix it up in there.
I do like how I'm still getting used to Arizona State of the big 12.
But it's a great addition. It makes that tournament a lot better though.
How does big 12 do their seeding? Do they have a person? Do they have a formula as well?
I don't know. But I think they have a committee committee.
I'm not on it.
Yeah, that's what you want people to think.
You still have to explain yourself.
I do.
I got freaking yelled at a couple of years ago by an assistant coach.
I didn't do these.
I mean, maybe you didn't do them, but you are responsible for them.
I am responsible for them. Yes.
No, I don't do them.
141 Vega, etchmandia.
How do you see that match going down this time?
God of figures can be really close again.
Sergio has not been, you know, he didn't get to really his offense against Kale Peterson.
He didn't against etchmandia.
Does he find a way to get to the legs?
I think if he does, he can score on Anthony.
Otherwise, the alternative is a match that probably looks pretty similar to the last one,
where you're under attack and trying to score.
And I think that's...
I always say the finishers are ahead of the scramblers.
I don't know if that's always true.
I think it's generally true.
I think with Sergio Vega, maybe he's breaking the rules a little bit there,
but I could see...
I think your eyes should be open to an upset here,
but Sergio is still my pick.
I haven't seen this guy lose.
We haven't seen him give up a takedown this year, and it's been closed, so...
That's crazy.
Yeah, I like Sergio, but I don't.
It's gonna be a close match.
America leads the world in medicine development.
It matters.
We get new medicines first, nearly three years faster.
Five million Americans go to work because we make medicines here at home,
and not relying on other countries keeps us safe.
But China is racing to overtake us.
Will we let them?
Or will we choose to stay ahead?
When America leads, America cures.
Let's go to Washington to keep us in the lead.

Paid for it by Farma.
Who was the last freshman that didn't give up a takedown in the regular season?
Especially with a schedule like Oklahoma State.
Well, Angelo still has not given up a takedown though he's lost.
I'm not sure the answer.
Right?
And that blaze hasn't this year either.
No.
But before now.
Yeah.
Could you have been Gable?
Is he takedown all during the regular season?
His freshman year?
Not till Big Ten's.
Maybe.
I don't know.
I watched most...
And I know Derek White did in the Minnesota duel.
I just feel like everybody gives up one somewhere, right?
You're tripping fall.
Yeah.
You can give up one somewhere.
Especially when you're wrestling Iowa multiple times Iowa State.
There's a good amount of undefeated wrestling still out there right now.
11?
Is that right?
I hear that.
Sounds right.
Yeah.
I brought it up but I don't know the actual.
149.
Swiderski Frost.
Rematch.
That again feels like 50, 50, 50, 55, 45.
That one's still going to be in the balance.
I agree with that.
I think in case he's been out last couple of weeks.
I guess he missed one duel.
He missed Iowa.
Yeah.
I thought Frost would get that one in Gallagher.
It was not correct.
I don't know.
I guess I'm on the ski.
Hey, do we know if Seth Mendoza is going to wrestle?
No.
I don't know.
Because he could throw a wrench into some things.
Really good.
David Evans is in there also.
Rachi as well.
49th.
I'd use that.
Seth?
Yeah.
I think he's beyond ready.
Mm-hmm.
He's ready.
I feel like Missouri seems like the school that's going to ride with Edmund I feel like though.
Edmund didn't...
Am I tripping or was he down at 41?
No.
I guess he didn't certify at 41 either.
People are saying so.
What did I see?
I don't know.
Yeah.
It feels like they're going to probably do that.
He's a six year guy probably at this point, fifth year.
So I don't know.
I'm always in favor of, hey, young guys, put your best line up out there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Edmund, sixth year, he wrestled February 12th.
And then before that, it was Jan 31.
So it hasn't been super active.
No.
Seth has wrestled a little more lately.
Maybe that is telling them.
157.
I think this is the weight at big 12s.
Yeah.
Landon, Serben, Caleb Larkin.
The landon...
Flarkin match is one.
I just...
I want to see it so badly.
We didn't get it at the duel.
I think it's an incredible matchup.
And...
I'm not looking past Serben at all.
Serben can tie.
And tie waters.
And tie waters.
But I want to see...
I want to see what Caleb Larkin can do.
He might be my pick to win this way.
Over-robbing dude.
I think...
I think Robert who looks a little limited right now.
I think landed at his best is better than all these guys.
But I just...
I've watched...
I think I've watched every land in Robert who matches this year.
Watch him at the beginning of the year.
Watch him most of this year.
Watch him in the last couple of weeks.
I think...
He's a little limited.
I agree.
And he just still has that Michael Myers in him.
He does.
He's the Halloween music comes off with a new level of robodoo as well.
He is plenty psycho to go ahead and win this way and threaten to win a title next year.
I don't disagree with that at all.
I just think...
It's a really...
He's gonna have to navigate two really, really hard matches.
And...
I don't know.
I think...
He can be beaten.
You know, we've seen him lose.
I think Caleb Larkin...
is a decent match.
He's gonna have a hard time taking down Caleb Larkin.
Right?
Because he's not really been volume attacking the way we'd seen in the past.
So it's gonna...
He's gonna have to be precise and finish.
65.
This one feels like Lydarian's to lose.
I say that...
But he had some close matches during the regular season.
I mean, took a Hail Mary to be right or downy.
It did.
But it still feels like Saturday evening.
He should be on top of the podium.
You know, these...
These are Chad GPT rankings.
These are turtle bro.
I was like, why do you...
I would...
Yeah, I think...
D probably is gonna have close matches in root to a title here that wouldn't surprise me at all.
He's been...
He played the game a little bit.
And...
It bit him against...
Almost bit him against...
Against Downy.
You know, he lost to Caliando.
But I think...
I'd have a hard time picking against him.
Same.
Yeah, I think he's the pick, but also to your point...
He wrestles close matches.
And he sometimes allows himself to be in situations where the outcome is not quite put away yet.
But still the pick.
I mean, Bianchi is a dog.
That guy wrestles really hard.
I know he got him last time.
Maybe that's not a great matchup for Bianchi, but...
Maddie's...
Mad Bianchi?
Yeah.
Pack 12.
Pack 12.
Oh shoot, that's right.
Little Rock...
Little Rock feels like they should be in the...
They feel so big 12.
I know, I was in peace.
And...
They're right there.
If anyone, but this show should definitely know the conference that...
Little Rock, like that.
Classic...
You know, Arkansas, classic...
Pacific Coast.
Yeah, it's close to Pacific.
There's no geography anymore.
74 to me feels a little similar to 65.
Kundo's going to have one or two tight ones, but he's the favorite.
Yeah, and without doubt the favorite.
I don't know.
He feels...
He picked off.
He...
His desionte matching is Virginia Tech.
Man, he won.
That's big.
But it could have went the other way.
These are...
These are all one-take-down matches.
Like, these are...
It's a dangerous game that Kundo could play.
Yeah, I feel like Lockheed and Kundo both kind of has that.
I mean, one's freshman, one's a...
I don't know, fifth year junior.
But they, like, they slow those matches down.
And it's going to come down to whoever gets that take-down.
84.
Can anybody stop Aidan Sinclair?
I don't think so.
I think Aidan is one of the bigger favorites in the big...
Big 12 from a conference standpoint.
You know, I don't even know.
Yeah, I would...
Outside shot of, you know...
Born a thing his way through.
That would be maybe a little surprising, but I think it's possible.
I mean, I think Zach will be able to keep it close if they wrestle.
Yeah.
Sometimes Aidan has some close matches.
I think they have it down.
Yeah.
No, I think they even had a close match.
Aidan is so bizarre because he will take somebody.
But sometimes if they don't engage and he, like, they can stop the arm drag,
it will be a four-one match and he is fine doing that.
Right.
Next highest ranked guys at Big 12's Eddie Nightenbach, Isaac Dean, Zach Ryder.
Yeah.
Ryder could definitely make it close.
We didn't get to see the Dean match with Sinclair because Dean set out that duel.
That could be a low-scored one.
Yeah.
Good luck.
Have fun in those crambles.
I am looking forward to Aidan kind of really having this moment.
He's been a huge prospect.
He's been a huge talent.
But, you know, redshirt and then this is the year to finally make your presence known.
I feel like it's kind of a long time coming, but I'm looking forward to the postseason with Aidan.
Under the radar, one of the best non-Big 10 weights of the weekend.
Big 12-197, in my opinion.
Totally agree with that.
Because a lot of people, maybe more casuals are going to say, oh, Rocky, Elim, next topic.
He's definitely the favorite, but...
If you watch the Meryl match, you know that's going to be extremely close.
It's controversial.
The Novak match, honestly Novak and Rocky had a good match at Vegas,
but it felt like Rocky was really in control of that throughout,
was getting the legs finishing.
But you also have, you know, Bennett Berge, who, you know, he took a tough loss,
but I still think he's a hard out for some of these guys.
He is a hard out, but feels like college dressing is catching up with him.
Yeah.
What does that mean?
Just, you know, he's got a lot of miles on his body.
I feel like he's hurt.
He's pretty young.
He's a junior.
Yeah.
I feel like that.
He might not be...
Rocky Elim's...
He has a mile.
He was, he wrestled late a Obama administration.
I don't feel like Berge is, uh, maybe fully grown, 197, either.
I don't think so.
I can totally agree with that.
Yeah, I think he'd be better off at, at 84, but I get it.
Yeah, 97, too, he's got, uh, DJ Parker and Evan Bates.
Six guys ranked in the top 12.
And it would be seven if Steven Little was in the big 12.
Imagine that.
And what if Josh Bart was in the top 12?
Hey, Josh Bart, we have to be eight.
Yeah.
You know we didn't talk about that.
He's going to be interested in the big 12 as Schubert.
I don't know, 174.
I feel like he's been under the radar.
Yeah.
Tough guy to score on.
He'd be a Schubert.
25.
Younger weight.
Yeah.
Younger.
Christian Carroll.
Always fun to watch.
That's true.
That will be a fun match.
Yeah.
He, he breathed.
It was tough.
And uh,
Vegas.
The only points were when Christian tried a lateral drop.
Yeah.
Which, as far as the good and bad ideas, I'd fall alone under bad idea.
But I admire the courage of Christian in that moment.
And Connor do set, you know, um, can he finish in the, can he make the finals here?
That'd be a, that'd be a good showing.
It's not a little ACC.
Yes.
What are we waiting for?
ACC Entire Tournament Sunday.
Yeah.
Uh, all on ACC Network Extra on ACC Network.
125.
It's the same dudes that have been there for what, two or three years.
Yeah.
It's gonna, it's gonna be Super Razor Close between Vintresca, Provo, V-Rob.
Yeah.
No, it's, it's definitely gonna be tight.
Had a funny moment at the Texas State Tournament.
I, I've just, Caleb's now like, he's kind of taller now.
He's like over five feet.
So I'm giving him a bunch of my old stuff.
And I've given him a, uh, an NC State sweatshirt that they had given me.
That kind of is a little, a little small.
And, uh, so he was wearing that yesterday at the State Tournament.
And Jared Freyr's nephew, uh, is, is a really good wrestler in, in Texas.
And he's got the hokey single and Jack Mueller's there.
He's like, what is going on here?
Like, Jack with UVA.
We're like all standing there.
We're gonna go on the mat.
He's like, he goes to Caleb.
He's like, you can wear anything.
Do not wear that.
It's like, that's the worst thing you wear.
And Caleb's like, I'm not, I just, just a sweatshirt.
That was funny.
We love all the ACC teams though.
That's true.
Anything else on 125?
Man.
I, I mean, you favor, you favor Eddie, right?
Right.
It's how this one is seated.
Yeah.
Two a little bit, right?
The one, the one seeds big.
And I assume that'll be Eddie.
Should be Eddie, because, I mean, provo may be the two,
but it doesn't really matter.
Two, three, it doesn't really matter.
And then Vincent beats Provo.
Like, Eddie's gonna win that match.
That's what he does.
I guess.
I mean, yeah.
What is he, he's three or four no against?
Three.
V-Rob.
I thought it might be four no.
Okay, so they wrestled dual ACC's last year.
Four.
Did they wrestle at national duels this year?
Okay.
Yeah.
So, dual, dual.
Four one, four one, four one.
Three, two.
They're all one takedowns.
Yeah.
Yeah.
This ACC is another conference where you're like Stanford
in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Okay.
But it's finally starting to, you know, it takes a little while,
but Provo and Stanford makes that even more interesting.
It's not just those two guys now.
133.
I think when it's all said and done,
Aaron Sidel is going to be on top of that podium.
What do you mean?
Sunday.
Sunday.
He might, he might bonus this way.
He's psycho.
Through this, I assume.
I mean, he majored, he majored Knox last time.
I think we'll be the two.
You would think Knox will adjust and make that more competitive.
That would be my expectation.
41.
Consiglio.
Simcox.
Jack.
Consiglio.
Probably the one there.
I think.
Consiglio is the one.
They've all traded losses.
Jack, Consiglio and Simcox.
Nine, ten, eleven.
And then Tom Brook is a good,
four-fourth guy.
Yeah.
Because this way, or because this class is so deep,
the freshman class,
Consiglio and also Simcox.
They Aaron being talked about,
but there's some sneaky tough.
Consiglio is super tough.
I really liked watching him.
Yeah.
The first match anyone watched him was against Sergio Vega,
and that went really bad.
But if you've watched followed his season,
Consiglio's, he's tough.
He's having a really nice season.
149, you've got Biscans.
This is a great way.
I think this is like the...
Die Valencia.
This is probably the way to BAC.
That's what I think.
Yeah.
I think there's all these, you know.
Biscans, he's a rightful favorite.
But I think it's super narrow.
He's had losses this year.
I think he plays it close or can play it close.
Yeah.
I think any of these three have a real legitimate shot.
Aiden Valencia.
I'm always pretty high on him.
Colin Guy.
He's done a nice job.
Guy, I would have a little caution predicting to win,
just because dealing with an injury,
a tournament like this,
and matches that when everyone's healthy,
you'd expect to be close.
It feels like Biscans are a Valencia or the champs here.
I don't feel like Valencia is waiting for that big moment.
We've seen him get these big wins in the middle of tournaments,
but to win the ACC's,
really establish himself for a nice C for NCAAs.
I see Cozak putting in work in the chat.
We got problems?
Oh, yeah.
Somebody just wanted to know if he actually played guitar.
Yeah, I do.
I said yes.
I had a Fender Jazz bass since 2003.
It's still same, same one.
It's very good.
It's Fender Jazz.
Fender Jazz?
The bass is...
Yeah.
That's a good one.
All right.
157.
Danu Cardinus.
Who else do we have at this weight?
Jackson Errington.
Errington.
Ethan.
Ethan Miller.
Errington's out.
Oh, yeah.
Stop looking at this.
It's like literally the worst thing you could print.
It's like full of lies.
Just go...
What did you do?
Well, I did.
Go to RussellStat and look,
they have like the conference...
What'd you call it?
They also conference-
So, Cardinus.
Okay.
Anything is better than ChatGPD.
Cardinus.
Ethan Miller.
Yes.
Ethan Miller is good.
And then after that,
really thin's out.
I had a...
Watch Lesky from UVA.
I mean, ChatGPD is not great
when it comes to like accuracy of rankings,
but if you want to make a team picture,
look like...
Cardinus.
It's actually pretty good.
Yeah.
That is good.
Yeah.
Because you got...
Peek by on the curtain.
What I did this morning to put all this on a dock,
which is ChatGPD.
Give me the top guys at each weight in the Big 12 and the ACC.
And then sometimes you read it off.
But they put two...
Yeah.
They put a bunch of long stick guys.
They're terrible.
I've used Chat...
Like, I don't use it.
It's long.
It gets...
Well, but I have the knowledge to go,
okay, well, this guy's not...
But he's wrestling.
Okay.
And I didn't want to keep the time.
The footage is listed.
Okay.
So at Big 12's,
17 Cardinus,
Ethan Miller,
Dylan Evans,
and then...
I think it's Watch Lesky's number four.
Yeah.
65 is fun.
And the ACC.
Is Burton going?
I don't think so.
Okay.
So we're turning the Mac Church.
We're turning the Mac.
Who is actually not having a...
Like, for him,
he's turning it up a little bit at the end.
Yeah.
It's tough.
But I'm excited to see Will Denny.
Yeah.
I'm a big Will Denny.
We like Will Denny here.
I'm excited to watch him.
All right.
74, Augustine Singleton.
That'll be fun.
It'll be on T.
Also.
Yeah.
Luke's got a rank guy at this rate of weight class, no?
Ethan Wallace.
Yeah.
And I'm 24.
Mm-hmm.
97.
I like Pasada,
Sasso.
Oh, yeah.
And Stout.
That's a really good weight class.
Pasada's just been nice this year.
Really enjoyed watching that.
Yeah.
Another radar freshman's upper weight guy.
Yeah.
I always liked him coming out.
And he's been...
I'm glad Stanford wrestled him this year.
Yeah.
It's got a lot of length.
Very scrambly for a big guy.
Can it...
It tax legs well.
Good on the mat.
He's just very complete.
And 285.
Also fun.
Trumbull Pitzer Mullen.
Yeah.
Trumbulls.
Trumbulls the boss here.
Where ACC's at this year?
I don't know.
Is anybody going?
No.
I mean someone.
I'm sure there will be people there.
Yeah.
No flow for anyone.
I'm a blackspurg.
Really?
Oh, now you're mad.
I am mad.
I haven't been to blackspurg in a minute.
You're going to be in state college too far?
Yes I am.
Time to enter night exit light.
What?
Interstantion?
Oh.
I think you said that backwards.
Uh...
Is it light?
Internight, yeah.
But that's not what you said.
No.
No.
Those finals 8 p.m. Eastern.
Uh, on ACC now.
On Saturday?
Sunday.
Sunday.
Oh.
Entire thing Sunday.
I'm going to get to watch it.
Because we get home.
Oh wait, no I'm not.
You...
I don't know.
Oh yeah, I probably will.
Big 10 finals are at 430.
Eastern.
Perfect.
So those are good done.
You'll pump out a little tent.
Right into ACC finals.
Get it.
Maybe get a p.j.
Down to blackspurg.
Yeah.
All right.
Uh...
Let's talk a little raft that happened.
Okay.
Over the weekend.
There was some resting.
There was also some fighting.
There was a fight.
That happened.
And that really kind of stole the entire show.
Yeah.
Um...
I did...
I...
Canally.
I was at the state tournament.
We were locked in.
So I didn't see it all.
But I skimmed through this morning.
I watched the actual wrestling matches.
And, um...
Plus the Sorukian.
Giorgio matches for like...
All right.
Why did he fight him?
And...
I mean, this...
This guy's not a wrestler.
And...
I mean...
He...
I don't think...
You could tell he hadn't really wrestled before.
Because like...
Giorgio was just clubbing him.
And he was freaking out the old...
Like...
The rest totally lost control of this match.
Like...
Armour should have been de-cued in the first period
when he literally swung on Giorgio.
Um...
They locked.
But I...
I don't know if they...
Maybe they're...
They're leaning into this.
I don't know.
But it was not...
It was like theorized that this was staged.
Like...
I don't think so.
But the fighting...
Was it?
I was like...
Those were real fights, real fists.
There were real injuries.
I've come to learn.
There were not many fists.
Those were their real hints.
Yeah, real hints.
So...
Um...
I mean, I don't...
Listen, I guess...
Some people like this.
That's cool.
I mean...
I mean, that's kind of...
Fighting is entertaining.
Well...
I mean, I don't know.
I don't like it.
Who cares who wins a Giorgio Pulis arm in Soruchin match?
I just don't care.
I...
I cannot care...
I cannot care about that.
I don't care about that at all.
Like...
Bo Bartlett vs. J.O.
Um...
Ever's Match.
Like...
I was super interested in this.
The biggest...
I think the biggest story out of RAF is...
You know...
Is overshadowed by the...
The side show is...
Is...
Kigeno Tool...
Salka's on off.
Salk1...
He's been kind of showing out at RAF.
He's looked really, really good.
Kigeno...
I had...
You know...
This is first match since NCAA's.
But man, I really...
I...
I was like...
If Kigeno's wrestling, he's ready.
He's gonna be...
And I would expect him to beat Salk1's on off.
Even though Salk1 is more credentialed.
And...
Um...
I thought it would have been competitive.
And unfortunately it wasn't.
Um...
Well, those are the matches that...
You know, we've brought it up before.
And then I'm a fan of...
Of RAF putting out matches.
And you get a Salk1 Tool.
That's...
That's kind of like for the...
The diehards.
But then they'll put...
The social media influencers.
And some MMA guys.
And...
And guys with UFC credentials.
And that's kind of...
How that led to...
Like a fight.
Basically is...
I mean...
That's what happens when you put those guys out there.
They're not...
Some of them aren't really wrestlers.
Or they have been wrestling.
So it's a different kind of...
Entertainment.
It begs...
Hopefully more eyeballs to the sport.
But...
The O-Tool Salk1 is on off.
It's...
It's kind of what we're after.
It is funny though, like the...
There's one guy at church.
He plays bass.
I play drums.
And we'll talk wrestling because he does jujitsu.
And the first thing he...
He said to me when he came in.
He was like,
Did you see the fight?
And I was like, what?
And I...
And I...
Like candidly...
I was...
Water slide in all weekend.
It wasn't on my radar.
And so I was like, no.
I didn't see it.
I went to bed early.
And...
Pulled up my Twitter.
Yeah.
And then I saw it.
So it is getting people like...
Getting people noticing.
And I think that's probably...
Probably their goal.
There's like, hey, we want people to like...
Talk about it and get it on their radar, you know?
I wish they were talking about...
But I don't...
Is it good?
Is it good?
Like...
Is any conversation good?
Conversation.
I know a lot of people think that.
I don't know.
I wish people were talking about...
Yeah.
Kyle Dake and Zeeid and...
Those guys.
Now, also, I don't think people would be talking about this match
if there wasn't a huge fight.
I don't know.
Although...
He is a UFC.
He is a huge star.
He's a big star.
Nobody is talking really about that match if they don't get in a fight.
Well, there was like all this heat before.
Like, most of the...
The raft stuff I saw beforehand was about this match.
Like, because they were...
I think they wanted to not make weight or something.
I don't know.
But I saw a lot of tension beforehand.
So this was the one I was seeing a lot about.
The one thing I like, but I disliked how it went.
Like, raft is trying to take a hard line against grounding.
Like, no.
You're not going to slide out of bounds and not give up.
But...
They went over this before.
And then the rest straight up just ignored it.
And the Jordan Bo Bartlett match.
And it created...
I mean, this is not how matches should go either.
Jordan got two clear stepouts based on the new interpretation of grounded.
On a shot.
Bo's like on his knee, sliding out of bounds.
And Jordan, like, for...
How great Jordan is a wrestler?
Like, I think tactically is like maybe where he's most underrated.
Like, this is a guy who...
When I talked to...
I think it was an interview with Jordan Burrows.
He said, like, Jordan is someone like I call for like wrestling tactics advice.
Like, technical stuff.
Like, that's how Jordan is kind of viewed amongst literally the greatest of all time.
So, I say that to say, Jordan is super tactical and approaching it, like, knowing the rules.
And so, as soon as it happens and they don't give them the one, he's like walking around.
And he's kind of getting ammonished by the commentary crew.
But they don't know the background.
Like, no, they're supposed to be giving one here.
And so, he does it again.
He's like, what is going on?
And so, what appeared to happen?
Like, is he had to intervene and be like, no, he's right.
These are supposed to be points.
But this was after the match ended.
So, then, Jordan and scored those not, you know, in the last like minute or so.
Right?
But they just put those points up and the match was already over.
And so, it goes from bow winning to Jordan winning.
So, it's unfortunate.
I feel like Jordan was...
No, it was never get his hand raised and then have it reversed after.
In this case, he didn't get his hand raised.
It wasn't the Nick Lee Bow Bartlett situation where they raised Bow's hand but they did criteria wrong.
Did you see what Bow Bartlett put out on his Twitter?
He said that he was told there was no grounding rule.
No challenges and rush back to the center to prevent delay.
So, I hear no grounding rule and I think, okay, there's no like...
That sounds like not helpful to Bow.
No, but also, no challenges.
Well, I would say that wasn't a challenge.
I mean, Jordan is not challenging.
Like, the refs just straight up ignored.
Is there a challenge?
Like, can you challenge everyone?
No.
I'm pretty sure Chale said, like, you can't challenge.
There's no mechanism.
I thought Ben said that there was.
Because remember, we talked about it.
It was like, oh, they're fixing the points afterwards.
Remember?
Correct.
And then I said, oh, man, that sounds like a rule that could...
You could like, fix matches and sway them.
Yeah.
Because if points are coming up and when athletes don't know about it.
And then now, it happens.
No.
Everything's fixing is bad.
Fixing it.
You're making it back in the day.
Right.
I mean, it's good.
It makes things better.
No.
Rehabilitating.
No, I don't think there is a challenge system.
But I mean, also, it's like, whose line is it anyway?
I think they...
I mean, is he in charge?
You can say, no, the score is this.
And they're just going to do that.
I do appreciate that rap is saying, like, no grounding.
I think we've talked about it before.
I'm certainly a fan of...
Heck, yeah.
...step out being a much more clear rule.
And they're trying to implement that.
And that's good.
It's unfortunate that this may muddy the waters now or people that are...
...seeing freestyle, maybe, not as experienced watching it might think.
Okay, well, this is why freestyle is not as good as folk style.
Something like that.
But I do appreciate what they're going for.
So Bo says that he was ruled grounded in the first and second period.
And each time...
I'm pretty sure I just...
I don't know all that.
Well, anyways, he said the official reminded him that there was no challenges.
So they came back.
And then that's when the...
I'd also say you might also not allow to punch, but they allowed that too.
So there are no rules now.
I wouldn't hold them to that.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I think the right guy won.
I think that's obviously not how you want to go.
I don't know why the officials weren't in lockstep with what seemed to be sort of clear.
Yeah.
I don't know.
You...
I mean, that's kind of...
It is unfortunate for Bo.
Because he wouldn't have a chance to try to score.
Yeah.
You wrestle differently if you're down by a part too.
Yeah.
Totally.
That's not good.
You do want the referees to know how you want.
Well, real woods got the auto rematch.
So maybe Bo Bartlett's entitled to the auto rematch against Jordan.
Yeah.
Jordan just...
He's addicted to controversial matches.
Every single one of them were like last second.
I'm still thinking about when he beat Zane Rutherford with the correct throw.
The correct throw.
That was...
The only times you ever see a correct throw at a US open.
Well, yeah.
And the way he did it was...
You know, like he kicked him through off the leg.
Yeah.
That was crazy.
Any word on how serious Buchanan's injury is?
Have you heard?
I hope it's not bad because...
I mean, matches feel he's tough.
Buchanan's hanging with him.
Buchanan's looking really promising in freestyle.
So I hope it doesn't affect, you know.
Yeah, he'll be able to be ready April for US Open.
Yeah.
He was holding his rib, which seemed to confuse the lady who said he might be having a heart attack.
He's just injured.
I don't think he saw a cardiologist after this.
I don't know how hurt he was.
I think he still looks good.
GG is tough.
I'm pretty sure he's been training at Oklahoma State pretty extensively.
And yeah, he's very game, for sure.
But April is still a lot of time for Steven.
What do you think of Alira's coming back?
13-2 over Bryce Meredith.
I mean, because Alira's is a guy college, we were like...
Is he going to take the 65 spot?
22-4, that's kind of what we were.
That was like kind of conventional.
I think he could be one of the guys.
I mean, it's...
Bryce Meredith is not a wrestler anymore.
He's an MMA fighter.
Andrew Lira's...
It's always been better at freestyle.
This is one of the matches I did not watch.
I know he got a lace.
Andrew Lira's always had a great lace.
And, you know, I just didn't have interest in this one.
And then maybe the last notable wrestling result, WIC over Coddy by domination.
Reattacks were crazy for Evan in this match.
Really, he did a really nice job.
Evan's...
Evan's super good, Coddy.
I don't know.
I kind of thought Coddy would beat Evan WIC to be honest.
That's a nice win, but he's proving unpredictable.
I feel like both of those guys will have results where it's like, huh.
I don't think he would go like that, you know, with both Evan WIC and Coddy.
Evan has had, you know, results where he's like, wow, he's ascending, right?
Yeah.
To the top at 79, and then he'll go overseas and he'll drop a match.
He lost his team.
Right.
Yeah, he got pinned, right?
By Dean.
I'm sure we're close.
Didn't he get pinned once?
Who did...
How many pin?
Your little one grew three inches overnight.
Adorable.
Also expensive.

I don't know.
Ham and D got to take down right at the end of the patch.
I don't know.
I'm thinking of something else then.
But yeah, I mean, he'll have mixed results.
And so I feel like when Evan Wick looks good, it's like, whoa, he looks.
He looks really, really good.
Right.
Because he's got the large frame.
It's the unique...
You know, limbs...
puts a...
Very unique limbs.
He's got unique limbs.
And it presents challenges that you're not used to seeing.
So when he is working, it's like, okay, yeah.
No one can beat this.
This is a...
Nice.
Different look.
He's tough.
All right.
Before we get to questions, Spade, you want to tell people...
Yeah.
Talk about our friends at Nike Wrestling.
Go to ATHLEATPS.com.
We got the new freaks.
We got this new...
The couple of colorways here.
This is Persian Red.
Looking very snazzy.
The postseason for you high school guys is probably already happened.
But...
Or maybe a couple states still got it going.
So Zaheed was wearing the Persian Reds when he...
Got a signature win over Muhammad Sebi.
All's I'm saying...
You're rocking these bad boys.
You win a state title.
And then you propose to your girlfriend.
Oh, like our Montana man.
Woo!
Was he wearing those?
I don't know.
What if?
I think it was nice.
That's right.
To get a yes, you got to be wearing it.
Yeah, exactly.
Were there any proposals that you state tournament to seek in?
No.
Has it made its way down yet?
No.
I propose...
The child brides.
Yeah.
No child brides.
No.
It was...
It was a madhouse in college station.
It was fun though.
It was a crazy, crazy tournament.
Like those are influx.
Okay.
All right.
So this one...
This is built to last.
So we deserve to get that yes.
Yeah.
Try to think of the...
If you're like a content creator out there.
Here's a free hack.
Michael Viral.
POV.
You just watched me win a state title.
But it's right here.
And then person getting down on any holding it up.
That's...
That's a good tick talker.
That'll go wild.
Athleteps.com.
Go there.
Great attitude.
Great attitude.
I also...
I also do want to show...
And then go to Athleteps.com.
Our friend Jason Bryant.
He's about to do his yearly NCAA Almanac.
It's a super awesome guide.
Super helpful.
A lot of fans should get it.
And if you use code FRL to purchase, you get a discount.
More than the other discounts.
There's other discounts.
Those discounts not as good as our discount.
Because ours gets you more money off.
That's more money.
You're not going to claim that?
But...
No, I thought you said the normal discount promo was like a 10%.
Yeah, no, that's true.
Jason hooked up FRL listeners.
Yeah.
So just type FRL.
And then...
You poor boys can go in the chat.
You can get some simple chats.
With your savings.
The money you save.
Just redirect those savings right into our pockets.
That's right.
How are they doing financially?
No super chats yet.
Jason Bryant's in the chat though.
promo code FRL.
Boom.
Yeah.
Wow.
So the chat was over 50,000.
I thought that would help us.
The chat's popping now.
Everyone's locked in today.
All the boys are here.
All the big week.
All the boys are here.
Thanks.
All right, let's get to questions.
All right.
Get it, cozy.
Let me get it.
All right.
We kind of already talked about this.
But maybe you thought about it a little more.
Maybe the chat can chime in.
Yeah.
From Slink.
What guy is flying under the radar going into the postseason?
I think Caleb Larkin is.
A little bit.
He took some losses.
Good pull.
I'm not told.
I'm not told.
I'm kind of sold.
I think he's really good.
I'm looking forward to seeing 184.
It's the third way class.
I think we've been talking about 133 and 157.
And then at EIWA's James Conway of F&M.
Yeah.
The Kozak Nuo is going right to James Conway.
That's a guy that hasn't hit a lot of the top guys.
But he's right up there.
He's six.
Right.
Get a really high seed.
He's looking at like the two, three, four, something like that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
After going undefeated with a couple good wins at CKOV.
Right.
And he'll be favorite at EIWA.
And Conway.
And Conway down in Washington, D.C.
And then Conway down in Washington.
Let's go.
He's only lost this year.
I think it's that Jackson Smith, who's not in the field.
Yeah.
So it should help him.
Yeah.
205 David says maybe she'll then see more?
Maybe.
What's your deal?
If it wasn't under the radar.
It's not under the radar.
Oh, we got a super chat, baby.
One, 199, we can just get one of those soft cookies.
Yeah.
You know, it's a little soft cookie.
Four ways boys. We are in the money now somewhere does have elite cookies. Yeah, you know, they got they got the full
Long and then you get the soft cookie with it. I was too much of a poor boy. You can get one extra
Protein, okay, so this is from
Elian plays 32 49. I wonder what Elian plays best wrestler without an NCA championship
Wonder if he means all time, so July of or
Or maybe maybe this year maybe we can you know make it our own. Yeah, best wrestler all time like as a college wrestler
Dayton Fix has got to be
On senior world teams. Yeah, um, it's a world middle and he can't can't yeah, he got world silver in the middle of that run
Brian Snyder always comes up
Russell Mattness is Branson, Tyler Caldwell, Sam Hayes, Winkel, all the walls his insane losses are insane. Yeah, it's like how Amuchus
Deggy, Dake Taylor, Dake Taylor, Burrows, like Trent Hydeley
Trent's a little champion. Well, champ. Oh boy, the footlongs are coming in baby
Elian plays 32 49 says here's the full long. I'm not poor. So that's great
Oh, man. Oh, you can't afford more than one ninety nine. Um, Hayes lifts four ninety nine
How much you lift Hayes?
The rainy bro bros made history in Kentucky this weekend 11 state titles combined
Where you guys think they fit in the roster next year at Oklahoma State before we get to that
What is the odds stance on middle schoolers being able to wrestle varsity? I kind of like it as they do in Kentucky
I know I'm not mad at it if you're like
able to do it. Why not? I think it kind of helps raise the bar for everyone
You know, if you got a middle schooler coming in here beating you
But also if you are a middle schooler and you can compete at that level, like I don't know. It's just weird
I think it's weird, but I like it. I mean, I'm not mad at it
You can you do that non-New York you can do it or you could you have to do the Dakotas you can
Minnesota you can't know maybe yeah
You can wrestle as a middle schooler and propose in Montana
championship
But you can do it all can you do it in non-individual sports?
I don't know like it
Probably I feel like you should if it's it's allowed individually. I feel like it works so much better in wrestling because there's weight classes
Yeah, football. I have a six-grader out there weights in the wild. Yeah, but if you're doing it you're probably like big enough
But it like track and field or like cross country you have to like make the team though
Swimming that's what I'm saying. Yeah, I don't know. I don't like it. I don't care about other sports
Keep moving. You're not you're not in high school. So he's he's wants to know where the rainy's fit in
So I would it's a good question
So when they came on here and committed they said they're 33 and 49
All right, so next year
Jaden who is smaller could be the 33 and maybe Jackson goes up to 41 and then does Jordan red shirt does Vega go 49
It's something like that
So maybe if Jordan's awesome right away ready to go he goes and Sergio red shirts or jacks red shirts and surgery and Sergio goes
It's that kind of thing, but it does feel like
The one thing that you could if I had to say the most competent is that jaden 33 next year
But you know the thing is with that if jacks makes the team at 31 and holds it does he like I don't know
But fortunately the one positive aspect of jacks going is
And Sergio going is they have some flexibility with those guys. I was gonna say they still have their restures
That's the big benefit of wrestling your true freshman is now it provides flexibility later on
The the thing is like will you ever see both rainy's
Vega and jacks in the lineup at the same time it seems not likely
I don't know how you could get all four of those guys in the lineup
Because I just doesn't seem like any of them are 57s at a point
I like the rainy father. Oh, yeah, but I don't appreciate when
Parents have twins identical twins and make their names both start with the same sound because it really gets me feeling like cion
Where I just have a hard time separating them you want to get my letter in there somewhere at least like
Well, just twins in general. I get mixed up
In my head. Yeah, like I've got Evan and Jacob frost now kind of
Separated yeah, but it took me a while. It's nice when there two weights apart. Right. That's a good benefit
That that helps too when they were 33-41. It was tough for me
But even then but you get two j's two j rainies. Yeah, that are identical. I mean
That's how that's the same person in my head. That's the twin protocol
Tom and Terry but the story coming up to Thomas Travis
Trent and Travis Cole and Connor. That's just like it's twin law
We could ask you know Paul Herdlow's here. He's a our general counsel
He could probably weigh in on twin law, but I'm pretty sure they have to have the same. It's adjacent to Perlough
The frosts are just breaking the law then
Louisiana they operate different they do a little different out there. Let's just let's just put it out with Tom rule
So yeah, I guess that's that's rainy's all right
Guys I got more more than as money's worth catching up on it catching up on the chat
Uh, we have heard in Minnesota you can seventh graders can play basketball and football
Which doesn't seem practical though
Seventh seventh graders playing basketball and football. Yeah, I don't know. It's gonna be rough
They do grow them big over there. Um, all right. We got a 1999 super chat guys
Four foot long. Are we retiring up?
Nick Devlin it's not really a question just a statement which I guess if you pay us 1999 you can make statements
I know they're trying to not interrupt the flow of the match
But the way raff judges amend the score in between and after
Makes it so competitors don't know the true score and that's raff's the biggest problem. I am oh
Yeah, and I don't know if that's what they're doing. I don't know if they are changing the score mid match or not
Like that's just something I had heard. I don't know if that's actually what they do
But yeah, that would be a problem. You definitely want to get the referees on the same
I don't what I'll say is this I don't think what happened in the Jordan
Bo Bartlett match is like the plan. I don't think that it's like in the bylaws like yeah
We just go to the table at the end and we change the score like I don't I think that was
Extenduating because the refs just straight up ignored what seemed to be like the agreed upon
When it's it's clearly it can be fixed right? It's like this is not some unsolvable
Yeah, proud problem. I think you mean the good one. Yes, they can make it. Yeah
It can be it can be amended. Yes. All right. We got a 99 99 super chat baby from Greco Jones
This is a challenge to the chat before we had this one. We haven't gotten one bigger than
99 yeah
My uncle Robbie was an auctioneer. We should get him on here
All right, this is a good idea. This is a say a question, but also poses an idea for us and the super chat
He says love you guys. Love you to Greco Jones. I love the show. Thank you
What do you think about pushing the super chats to charity beat the streets and the like
Maybe good idea. Maybe we but I like my foot long. Yeah, I mean
We're all fans of beat the streets, but does this guy want us to starve? Nick. Nicky wants us to give it to him
Is he ever charity? Nicky's charity. He's from Evan row. He's from Evan state. He's a charity. They all have a lot of saying that about Nicky
Did you who went to big 10s with me? None of y'all
We're driving around Evanston
It looks like frickin homelone like homelone. It's like a homelone named Alistair's house is over. Yeah
Oh, yeah, if you were a wet bandit you would rob that place. Yeah, that's your casing those houses very G
I do think we'd probably get it's got to actually a decent idea like if we
If we decided to charity on it like the beginning of the year
I'm like hey end of the year all your super chats and they go to
Yeah, fill in the blank
Get it up there from me. We go to save save CBU wrestling. That's good
There you go. I mean any just a giant fund to help all wrestling. Hey, we didn't talk about the CBU video
I think we have a question about it. There's too many super chats. Oh, yeah
What do you want to talk about? That's got to go to the top. I'm sorry. You want to talk about CBU video now?
Sure, okay, let's do it. I don't know the question, but
I can remember it either I can scale for the quick one. I'm not sure
It's on this. Yeah, so yeah, I saw the video like everyone else did and like
Yeah, I think dude that was for sure not cool and like you definitely feel for the guys who are
There if you're on the team you're trying to find a way like what what can be helpful right now like what what can you do to
To save the program and like obviously Stanford
In 2021 their program was dropped or announced it was dropping
And they wore the black singlets all year. So CBU obviously like hey, let's that can be a way to
To use our voice, but ultimately I think we all know that like the schools have the authority to say no
You can't do that and um and I think you know with Stanford and Cal Baptist like
Both schools like acted totally in their own self-interest and self-preservation and wanting to not look bad
I think Stanford thought like one
remember Stanford was so backwards like
How insane they were that year
First they couldn't have any home matches every single match for Stanford was on the road
They were not at host any match. So like they didn't have like a home match where like they would not be wearing the Stanford singlet
I think there's kind of like all right
we'll just keep it quiet and
You know no one's gonna notice and they'll be done and it's a and then Shane Griffith did what he did and that put it
It's huge national spotlight on ESPN and I think the Stanford donors felt great shame as they should and the program got brought back
um
I was yeah another story just like Stanford just how insane they were they so
During COVID like there was all these it was like pretty strict NCA like testing policies
Stanford on top of the NCA tests they had to go to the hospital between every session of NCA's and get tested afterwards
They kept a kid out of the postseason whose roommate tested positive and being a true. So that's how like insane
Stanford was during that time glad they're back
But Cal Cal Baptist like I and I remember thinking at times like I can't believe Stanford's actually letting them do this because obviously
They could say no you can't do that
And that's what Cal Baptist is doing and like the way that dude was was talked about my I understood what there was like
I don't think that video was like this insane smoking gun people thought it was like
That guy was not like cool. I don't think his life should be ruined like many people seem to think online
And I don't think being hateful is gonna help bring back Cal Baptist
Which is why I said what I said which everything I said is true and
There's a right way to behave and there's a right way to be
strategic and pragmatic and help a program and flow wrestling has been
Since day one doing those things for Cal Baptist and has continued to
um, and there was some pot
I heard some really good positive momentum before all this before this video came out like
You know hope what hopes not lost and I don't think creating a toxic
Situation on Twitter is helpful and I think people give way
Outsized weight to the impact of Twitter and that's like the biggest thing
It's like you guys think that like these posts helps and then it's like oh wow barstool is coming to like
Barstool does not care about wrestling guys. They thought the video would get traction and traffic
They don't care about saving wrestling. They don't care about wrestling period
You guys fond over them for the like three weeks where they were making wrestling content
They've been gone for four or five years and I wish Barstool was like consistently involved in wrestling
That would be great
But they're not because they don't care about it. Yeah, I think Twitter
uniquely of all the social media platforms when you're heavily on it
It's easy to get lost in thinking that this is where the center of the universe takes place
This is all that matters
But you know sadly we have all of us here collectively have I don't know decades plus of experience
In the wrestling world and college wrestling and we've seen things happen and we are going to bat for
D1 wrestling and it hurts us when programs get dropped. We all feel it. We all are doing everything we can
Making post on Twitter is just not a thing that does anything
But I understand the release. I understand if you're in Twitter like how that might help make you feel better about the fact that
Hey, these guys are jerks. Yeah, I'm not gonna lose sleep over what happens to the administrators of California Baptist
But also I'm not promoting any hateful
behavior
Yeah, but yeah, we're we're doing what we can it's if it you know things are gonna play out how they're gonna play out
But we're still here for California Baptist all the way. Yeah, I know I said this to you guys beforehand, but I think the video
put
Put it on people's radar that California Baptist was dropping its wrestling program like I don't think
Maybe you know the hardcore fan or maybe even the casual wrestling fan
You knew that
Cal Baptist was dropping
Their program, but I think this brought it into just like the
General public's
Awareness more than anything and so like from our perspective is like hey like we reported on this
Months ago we've been we have talked about this you know
We gave an update on where people could give and where people could donate and so it's like well. Yeah, it's like
The video sucks like the way that
The wrestlers were put in that position where it's like hey, we want to do something
But now you're threatening us like that doesn't feel right you've already taken like you're already taking our sport away
Um, but yeah, I feel like that is probably like the general consensus is like oh wow Cal Baptist is dropping their program like that's that's crazy. Yeah
Unfortunately all the way around next question
All right, um, we got another super chat from joe mc6 68 28 499
Other than Jesse winning who from Ohio will place highest at NCA's?
Um, I was state. Yeah, I think it says Ohio
Jesse's is not from Ohio. I think that's what he means. Uh, so it's like Davino
Canon Nick would probably be like the
I would say
Davino
Feels like I don't know I guess you could get six for all we know
As we'll say fishback could take like fifth
Well, I mean I would Nick could make the finals. Nick could win the thing
Canon it's tough to say Canon
Because we haven't seen him in a while. I hope we I think he's gonna be full-go at big tens
So if he wins big tens and we'll be like yeah
um
But I feel like I honestly feel between Davino Buzakis and Canon like
It's it's pretty tough to say who's gonna place higher at NCA's but I feel like there's all there's reasonable
Pass to the finals for all three of those guys
Um, if I had to pick one, I would say Davino. I think he's been the most consistent
Healthy performer for for them this year
I mean think how close he was to Marcus right right freaking there
Apparently we just got big 12 brackets just dropped
Um, which I can pull those up in a second. Oh, we got to get it
All right, it's only 909. We'll get to our four-boy questions
um
Matt Moran, do you think Gabe Arnold can a a at 197? Absolutely
Absolutely, he can um
I think he can set himself up nice with the with a good showing it big
Big tens if he goes, you know, I'm this is we're all operating under assumptions that Gabe's gonna be the guy at 197
I think he very obviously should be if angelo wrestles 184
um, and yeah, you look at big ten
You just look at the big ten rankings and you got bar and then it's a big drop off like I think big danels probably the second ranked guy
um, he could be a top four guy at the big ten championships
He's gonna be in a lot of these matches. If I had to
He's more likely to not place. Don't don't misunderstand my
Excitement about Gabe
Is the overconfidence. It's still gonna be really tough for him, but yes, he can place
Um at the at the national tournament
All right, I got brackets you want me to pull them up? Yes pull them off so the skim through them real quick
Here's the f-all question for me. Can I see the big 12 brackets?
I'll zoom in so you can see him a little better. You should spread up before you ask questions. You should spread out
The dog is all say which was you can dock my pay. Okay, so all right. We'll have to go kind of fast though
Yeah, I'm gonna go quick. Just kind of look for if anything stands out. So choice the one
Um, he'll get the winner of roar Kendrickson that quarter jets the three. I can't see anymore
Go down. Just a three. Ezekiel with. I mean jet versus wit
And then Trevor and uh, Steve. Oh, that'll be a match. Yeah. How many allocations do they have is the other thing that would be good to know
So I got those last checks for us the one. Oh
At 133 domes around all the four so that means we're gonna have a larkin frost
I think real quick going back to 125. I think wit is one of the few guys that's ranked in the top 20 that did not allocate a spot
So it's gonna be crowded at one time. We didn't allocate. How?
19 and 10
He was he's ranked 20th. He did not for I got to figure out why but the Seaton Hall pirate uh, we love Brit
He puts out the list of everybody that whatever that criteria RPI win percentage and then coaches rankings
Wait, it was not on there. That's crazy. Okay
Hill qualify
All right
Yeah, jacks jacks the ones jacks Serrano Serrano's pretty nice guys. He has one loss this year. Who's that too? I'm a frost
Having frost. Mm-hmm. He gets the four domes good guys one big 12 last year. He's the returning big 12 champ
This jacks will a show match. They're just gonna be rolling around. Oh my gosh. Yeah, that'd be super funky. That'd be fun
Yeah, so so frost the two larkin the three
Okay, I like that. Mm-hmm. It's tough. Wait, Julian Farber's not bad either. Yeah, he's the six Farber Larkin. Yeah
uh 41
Vega Vasquez quarter or Titus. Mm-hmm man bill. This is a deep way man will tag. Yeah, it's it's tough
Tulsa's gonna be fun. Yeah, jury wells and then
Yeah, I should mend the other two one more year one more year of Anthony. All right 49
switorsky the one will do Macdougal round one. That's not an easy
first match. Yeah. Josh Edmond is the five so Edmond's in
Oh, so next Peter sent David Evans Jacob Frost
rachie Evans rachie, yeah, it's good. This is a deep way. Mm-hmm. Yep. It'd be some chaos here
Uh 57 Caleb Larkin the one tie waters the four
four. We saw that match as a seven. Yep. I'm here for that one. All the Arizona State
guys are listed as zero and zero. Yeah, I don't understand that. Zerbin, the three,
Rabadu, the two, T Travis, the seven. So that's going to happen again. Yeah.
Rabadu, Travis. Yep. Swenson, the six, he hasn't had the best year, but he can be
run a bunch of two. All right, DJ Lock at the one. Max Mayfield, the four, Nika Ruiz,
the three, and then writer down into two. Yeah. If he can be a tough, Peyton Keller, what
a seven and seven. He's not had a good year. What the heck? That guy was all dressing
caught up to him. I don't know. I'm definitely doing better at Ohio. That's for sure.
74, Fakundo, the one, Kyle Valencia, we could get a, was that who's number one? Yes.
Rematch, one by Alex. Sima Gaitan, Camsteed, the three, Carter Schubert, the two.
Espinoza Owens, not a walk over there for Camsteed. We got an Espinoza Owens and an Espinoza.
I know. At the Dakota States. True. Okay. 84, Aiden St. Clair, the one, Bruno, the eight,
Fox, Bush, the five, four, night and back, the three. Soldano is back. Okay. All right.
I mean, is it seven? That's it. That's a landline right there. The Dean Rider,
Seah in Sudden Victory. Yep. Yeah. Man, it's kind of weird. Dean got the seven.
Okay. Yeah. Rocky, Elam, the one at 97. Berge, Berge, the four. Gunnersons. Oh, and four.
Maybe this. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. They just put numbers now. They don't
put anything. Cody Merrill, the three Joey Novak, the two. Maybe, huh? Zero and four against big
12. Maybe, but then 18 and 17, 14 and 14 to 18 and seven in the big 12 this year. Yeah.
All right. And then 285, younger, the one, Suba. Hey, you know, Suba had a rough start,
but he's rounding in the form. Well, he's oh no. So throw the records out. That's right.
That's right. That's that's that's the human talent. You know what throwing records out. We're very
literal. We have no record. You know what I'm seeing though here at Amarinson, the eight baby,
he's coming for, he's coming for younger. Yeah. Let's get it down today or this weekend, he finishes
the job. That's right. Finish what he started. Christian Carol, the three, one more to set the two.
Rasmus and Carol, I need that. Yeah. Yeah. Dueling body types. We'll see if we'll get anybody to
pop top. Yeah. No. He learned his lesson. He saw it from game. That was it. No.
No. No. No. We got to start openly weeping.
You get to ruin the rest of life. You get to pull down his straps. I said, no. I said, no.
Oh, glitched out. All right. Back to back to the point. All right. All right. Anthony T.
Twitter. Can we agree that switching men's college wrestling to freestyle would greatly improve
our product. I'm not even coming at this from a standpoint of performing at Worlds or Olympics,
strictly from improving our product and making it more exciting. I don't think so. I don't think
as necessary. I love both a lot. I think there are elements of freestyle that could be
implemented into folk style, but I would be strongly against moving the freestyle and I think
it would lose a lot of people. I don't think people I'm not like I don't think people watch
the NCA's because it's folk style, but that familiarity I think helps and I think there's things that
I mean, I think any sport should be in a constant state of evaluation for their rules and
what the output is as a result of the rules. So yeah, NCA wrestling should be adjusting to
product issues that it clearly has with scoring, lack of scoring, lack of consistency and scoring.
Much of it stemming from officials just not being on the same page because we do
see instances where it's like, okay, this makes sense is how it should be called. So I would be
against this strongly. Also, there's a huge benefit to the dad who wrestled four years in high school.
Yeah. And then can go and take his son or daughter to a meet and show him or you know,
coach him at the very rudimentary level. Hey, here's how you do a breakdown or a turn or whatever
versus I never had a gut wrench in my life because I only did it for my school. May I say
that I agree 100% I think we should, but that is me personally and I understand why it is not
going to be a switch that you flip. I love folk style. I'd be it. I mean people and I wouldn't
miss it. Most American wrestling fans are folk style fans. Most American wrestling fans I would say
don't watch freestyle regularly. And if you don't watch it regularly, you don't like it. Like,
if you're coming at us from a strict like folk style standpoint, like, why does it get points for
that? Yeah, he didn't even control him. Yeah, I heard that. If you were going to do it, go ahead.
For all the challenges of folk style scoring, it's like freestyle creates way more problems.
It can. But it's the initiator and the the level of nuance it's like for folk style is like
control or not control reaction, not reaction. It's like, oh, the he changed the direction. It
is so much more like, I don't know, trying to explain it to sometimes I'm like, I just
sort of confusing like it would take 45 minutes to like you just got to watch it. You have to watch
it. You must watch it. You're all commanded. Yeah, you have to watch it. I would say that if you were
if if something like that was going to happen and again, whatever my personal preferences are,
I'm not saying overnight we got to change everything. But if you were, you would start it at like
the youth level and you would say, okay, all middle schools are going to change over to freestyle
at this year and then three years later, all high schools and then colleges after that. That's
generational change. Yeah, generation. I do think people that like freestyle why like for me,
like I why I like freestyle. It's like you see the best in the world. And so it's just like the
level is just raised. And so like anytime you're watching the best in the world do something. It's
like, yeah, I want to watch those guys. I would still 100% watch if the worlds at the Olympics were
in folk style. I would 100% watch that and be hyped about it. All right. Next question from
a poor boy. Sip it. I don't buy any talk of brands being on a hot seat at this point. But what do
you guys think it would take for him to legitimately be on the hot seat? Yeah, I think just I think it's
the trend line, you know, basically what what direction is our things going? And I think that's
over an extended period of time. I think Iowa would have to cease to be a consistent trophy team.
And I don't think that's going to happen. But it is Iowa. And the standards are different there.
And, you know, I think it's more likely Tom at some point just retires, right? At some point
it retires. How old is Tom mid 50s? It's the image is Terry.
As established, Tom's a little older. 57 years. April 9th birthday coming up.
It's like kind of I think 2028. I think it's when it's contracts up almost 60 might be 60. Maybe he
just says maybe he's just ready to go at that point. But I don't I don't think the hot seat is there
this year for sure. I mean, they're they're still a really good team. I mean, they're still in a
they're still a team that many other programs aspire to almost all. Yeah, absolutely.
All right, actual cannibal in his match against Kelliando. I was surprised by Blaz's power in some
of the positions they were in. And I'm sure Kelliando was too. Now that he's felt them,
how differently does the match go up big tens? Where Blaz's chances to make it through Kelliando and
Mitchell? Not good. No one's chances to do that are good. No one may should have all that power. But
I think I think the next match will be will be really close again. I think Blaz has all the tools
to win that match again though. But I think we saw a different Kelliando in that first in that
locket match. I'll tell you, look great. Super assertive getting that early score. Blaz is one of
those guys you can't let his hands lock. Like anytime you're wrestling one of those dudes where like
they're just so game and finishing like it makes the margins narrower. I don't think
I don't think Kelliando went into that match thinking this is going to be an easy one or I got
this or whatever. I don't think Marcus Blaz or excuse me, Joy Blaz is surprising anyone.
But yeah, maybe in some of the positions like you said that those did challenge a more than
he thought. I think the next match I think it's a it's a coin flip this time. I think it looks
similar. Not saying Joy wins again, but yeah, I agree close. Yeah, I remember Blaz had another
take down two and they just straight up didn't call it. There's like no, I'm scared to give three.
But Mitchell, I already said like he's the guy I think with the best chance to make Mitchell and
that's still like 5%. Yeah, Mitchell. My favorite FRL poor boy at boys FRL, FRL poor boys.
Dredding the end of NCA season, but hoping to get more tune to international this year,
give me some tips for enjoying more international wrestling. Consider my handle when proposing budget
increases. All right, your sleep schedule out the window. Yeah, it's sleep. Well, I mean, I would say
no, I wouldn't even don't start there. It's like you're like you're talking the person that hasn't
worked out in five years and you got them doing some cross the things like no, actually, there's
a bunch of awesome stuff happening in America that if you're an FRL listener, you probably have
a flow subscription. So you can watch the US open, world team trials, all the outwatch, all the US
stuff, which is all in the United States. So that's like basically April, May, June is about
picking our world team that are going to wrestle with the different world championship. So there's
like, there's the senior, which is like that's the pinnacle, but there's age level stuff where you'll
see a lot of the best college kids and best high school kids doing it. So there's like four separate
teams, but they're all really, really good. And you can watch the entire trials process on
flow wrestling. So let's go start at the US open in April in Las Vegas. Watch that. That'll set up
Final X, which is where we pick our senior world team. During May, there's the world team trials,
gets the other Final X matchup set as well as starts to set the age level teams. So watch all
that. Follow all that. We're going to be talking about it. Honestly, if you follow this show,
we're going to keep you in tune of all the biggest matchups that are coming down the line,
the biggest showdowns. And then it'll be much easier. So do that. And then, then we'll start
talking about the the sleep schedule and, you know, getting up, you know, during European waking
hours. It's just a slight adjustment. Yeah, I think, yeah, even if you want to go a level deeper,
then it's just like, okay, really like simple easy ways. Just just look at the results from
euros and Asian championships, which are coming up very soon March, April. And you can kind of
get a feel for who the top guys are at. For, not poor boys, but maybe lazy boys. If you just
listen to FRL, yeah, you were going to get all of the like super net. We're going to keep you
up to speed on euros. We're not going to drill down to like the super, super nuanced stuff,
but we're going to give you the high level of of everything there. So you're going to be caught up.
I would also recommend as a fan, I think the US Open is a little slept on as a in-person
experience because NCAAs gets all the attention. That's everybody's always talking about the tickets
or what venue. You can get the same level. Maybe even higher. I would say, you know, you got more
senior guys. You got more guys at the peak of their careers. And you are right there. I mean,
you are staring at these guys. You're like on the floor walking around with all of the best
wrestlers in the country. And it's a fun Vegas trip. So I would say maybe look into being one of
those guys. Vegas is a terrible place. Don't go watch that. Hey, that's what we're saying.
Christian Luzon Crabbs one time and hates Vegas. I've been a long time Vegas hater. And then I
played Crabbs once. And I was kind of a Vegas boy. I have a circus shirt. But then we go there twice
a year. We work there. It's it's a work stuff for us. I'm saying as a big as a fan, make it a fun
Vegas time. You will be able to have a good time in Vegas. Yeah, it's possible. Don't listen to
CPs. Don't listen to me. Go. But also watch online. But also go. Watch your phone while you're in
Vegas. Folks fan 34. How many wrestlers finish above land and robbery at NCA's? What's the
weird way to this? Like what is he going to play? Yeah. Um, I'll say three. Yeah, I'm kind of
feeling like fourth or fifth, but it's 157. Like he could be a finalist for sure. Yeah. Um,
but he feels like. Front half all American to me, which is awesome. It's a very strong performance.
Okay. Next question from Virginia's for FRL. Are there any ways where someone could lose their
conference and still be a one seat? I do not think so. I don't think that's possible.
With so many undefeated guys right now, it's like if you the person who beat them in the finals,
it would be the one seat. Yeah, there's too many like the crazy scenario where somebody who had a
severe losing record wins their conference. Yeah, but if someone from another conference will
get the one though. Yeah. Like if Mitchell lost, it's not like, although, if Mitchell lost,
okay, maybe because if Mitchell lost and Caliando and Joey are like go Owen to or no, no,
if Caliando wins, I don't think it have to be that. If Mitchell lost, Caliando beat Blaze,
um, and then maybe Mitchell forfeited it out because lock it lost to Caliando,
so all the big players at 65 have losses. Like maybe Mitchell would be the one then. So maybe it
could actually happen, but also Mitchell has to lose. Caliando wouldn't be the number one.
I don't know. He has two losses. He lost his three losses.
It's theoretically possible. Is it likely? Absolutely not. I think this is going to happen.
Mitchell's going to be fine, but let's just for the experiment, see what happens if you lose at
Big Tens. It's a scenario. Play out for Virginia's forever. Yes.
I think it can actually happen. And I just said no. I got to crush the numbers,
which I'm not going to. We're going to crunch them. You know, that's something we could get in
that matrix. Yeah. I'm always afraid I'm not going to be able to come out though. Yeah,
when you get in, you like this stuff, bro. We need you. It's supposed to get you red pilled.
All right. Joe Gurgente, do buys and conference tournaments earn points. If not, it's a
detriment to the best team in the tournament with the most num one seeds. Right. So this was a big
controversy at Big Tens for years. They would randomize the buys. And you don't want to buy
at the conference tournament because you don't get points. So oh, I probably happened a long time
ago, but I think like four or five years ago, they made it. So like, no, the one and two seeds always
get the buys at Big Tens. That's how it is instead of like moving it around. Because then like,
the brackets will come out and Iowa fans will be like, Pint State only had three buys. And we had
always be an argument. So now they did the right thing and just made it so that this interaction
is very confusing to me between pirate and Joe. Yes. Because pirates as only if they win
the first match after the buy. Yes. What does he mean? So you get the advancement point. But you
couldn't get. So what happened? You'll get the match point or the you don't get the bonus bonus.
And those are matches where you are likely to get bonus. So that was the big sticking point.
You want to be, yeah, it's actually two points if you're pinnigot. Yeah, I don't know. This,
this, this thread here. You get in the little too deep. Yeah. All right.
You don't want swimming those pirate waters. Who the heck is in the Matrix now? He's lost.
Virginia's for FRL. What's the formula for Penn State to lose Big Tens this year? Food poisoning.
Yeah. I think you need a couple of. I was state bowling out. Ohio State's got a ball out and then
you need a couple of Josh Bar type situations where a guy gets injured. The problem is they don't have
anyone hurt going into it. Not the Josh Bar was it. I don't know. You need a lot has to go wrong
for Penn State. It's probably. It's probably like maybe Mira Sola dropping a match
earlier, but I don't know. He's wrestling so well. I mean, he could drop a match. It's heavyweight
in a third. He's not going to blow anyone out or the, I don't know, Rocco. But really,
it's just Ohio State. Well, Rocco, what if Rocco has Angelo in the quarter? Yeah.
I could be it. That very well could happen. Yeah. Or yeah, Blaze has Ayala.
Early. Yeah, that's the thing. Marcus getting the one.
Kind of like really caps how low he can go, right? Yeah, I don't know.
So it's a tough formula and I'm not mathematically inclined.
Well, why could you devise a formula for that? No.
All right. Master Santiago at my name is Jums. I miss Oh no. But like, we had such a fun
personality hit us and now I haven't seen anything from it in months. When do we see him back?
Yeah, it's a big bummer. You know, I don't, you know, hear a ton, but it sounds like sick or hurt
or something with his weight cut for the, I think it was the emperors cup. They weren't trying
to just shell them. The plan was for him to wrestle some folk style this year. They were
definite about that. And then she had some setbacks and wasn't able to. But yeah, it stinks. It's like
this guy was like probably the most pop, definitely the most popular international wrestler in the world
for American fans. And you know, he's such a revelation of 2024 worlds and junior worlds.
And then we saw him against Spencer and then haven't seen him since is a bummer. Want to see him back
when I would say maybe next. At this point, I would say I had to guess next NCAA folk style season.
Real goodness in every sip. Find them at your local Kroger in the Kramer aisle.
That would be like it also sounds like he's taking school like seriously. Like he has to.
Well, it's super. I mean, he doesn't speak English. It's really, really hard for him. They're like,
it's, it's a big challenge. So I don't think he can be like, oh, I'll do international and
this like he wants to be a Penn State wrestler really, really badly. And he's doing what it takes to
to do that. And yeah, so I don't, I don't think we'll see him on the freestyle mat representing
Japan at the world championships. Yeah, it's a good point about school. It kind of take it for granted.
But like, imagine the reverse, just any American going to Japan and like having to
grades would be. Yeah, it'd be tough. Tough adjustment. All right.
From the real Avery Lynch, which he has not been in the live chat. We kind of talked about this.
He's been quiet. You think Angela will medical forfeit out of big tens once he makes it to the
semis and auto qualifies. I don't know. I mean, I'd say, I don't think I said about that is like
that's certainly something Iowa has done in the past and other teams. But we don't know his health
situation and they won't tell us. So we'll wait and see. I hope not. I hope we see him.
Hold tournament. Okay. All right. Next question. RC at Christian Piles. During offseason,
you were into the Duke Russell's 157 Tyler Richards because Duke never make 157 again. Then Duke
Richards goes 74. No, he's a stud. But I think he looks like a small 157. What do you think? So
no, that's not exactly what I said. But I did tell you guys right after NCA's exactly what was
going to happen happened. Duke Russell's Tyler Richards. Duke Richards, yes. But then
Mitchell graduates. Duke slides 65. I don't think he's a 174 either. I think he's a 74 kilo guy,
which is maybe the confusion. He is not small at 157. It is a hard cut for him. Making 157
consistently is a challenge and they've had to make adjustments throughout the year.
But he's doing good. He's doing good with it. And I still would anticipate Duke
Richards next year. Tyler's back at 157. Of course, an injury could change that, but I think
that's what we see happen. And then he can go 65 when Mitchell graduates. That's what I think the
plan is. I think it's a good one. All right. We talked about this a little bit, but CB does Ohio
state have a legit chance at winning big 10s? I don't know. I did define legit. Legit? Legit.
What's the percent? Wait, you'd give them 10? 10 percent. I would bet the other side of that.
Yeah, maybe last 20. 20. Yeah. There's two other sides on the point flip. No. A lot has to go
right. This is just such a good. I mean, tournaments are tougher. I mean, a dual meet I would say
now we're in the ballpark, but tournament too many weights. Nothing against Ohio state.
Dispen state team is one of the arguably like the greatest NCAA teams ever ever. It's a juggernaut.
Yeah, I don't, I don't see it. Okay. And pin this one, Buckeye fans blast it out. I just don't see
it. I mean, look, no one's rooting against anybody. We're all just regular fans of interesting
storylines, but that would be a crazy storyline. Yeah, amazing to see. All right, Evan Horowitz.
Don't love JD's idea about getting a point for one second of writing time, but what about
hearing right into overtime? So someone's leading going into write outs? That would definitely make
sudden victory the end. I actually love this idea. That's criteria. Regulation ended. Clean slate.
Well, it's like now you got the guy that's losing going into it. They got to go. They got to go.
The reality is what if you what if you could go to overtime and have writing time?
So if you have three minutes of writing time, I'm saying it's weird how that just gets wiped.
And I do like that because it also puts less on like the flip kind of like sometimes it's like
saying he read this dude for like one second more. Yeah, I like the idea because it will get people
more comfortable with the idea of tie breaking criteria, which is what you want because then
somebody is always losing, which is actually way better than going to write outs. So make it so.
All right. Last question from our poor boys. Cody Pevlar. How would Oklahoma state do in the
big 10 tournament as a team as individual? I mean, they do great. They wouldn't win.
Question is, would they be Ohio state? Yeah.
Man, well right now, they're ranked a half a point behind Ohio state in the team tournament rankings.
If you throw some cowboys in there, I think it I think it'd be pretty close to one. I'd probably
favor Oklahoma state just based on health, but man, I don't know. You got guys like Alex
Fakuna who are going to be big 12 champs like where is he at the big 10 174? Right? I don't know.
Maybe Ohio state would do better. I don't have a tough time saying. I feel like Ohio state has
more variability at someone like Brandon Cannon who could win or take sixth. Sixth. Right?
Davino. I don't know if he's kind of kept it three bottom, but. Right. Yeah. I don't know.
I love to see it. Is that it? Anything else from the YouTube chat? YouTube was popping.
No more super chats, but they're in it. The more we talk, the more you people watch.
Yeah, Nikki, we're not stopping the show. We're going to keep it going. We're going to go big 10
seeds are dropping at 11. Oh yeah. We're just going to keep it rolling. Yeah. Hey, you gave me
double thumbs up. We can't be. But actually, I got to go double freedom rockets too. And
be patient if it's not right at 9 a.m. Oh yeah, we're moving. Are we moving times?
It's not real. Is this really going to happen? We're doing it 9 a.m. Central 10 a.m. Eastern is
the new time, new studio, new studio. We're testing it out, but I'm saying don't be shocked if you
know it's 905 something. You guys listen, oh, like that's some new deal for FRL listeners.
Like I let you know for the first time ever, we're not going to start on time gang. No, they know
the deal. They know the deal. They see the alerts and they start listening. Hopefully 9 a.m. central.
It's going to be epic. New place. But same us. So sorry, stuck with that. No upgrades on the
us. Yeah, we're not getting upgraded. We're not getting upgrades. We will see you guys Thursday,
new time, new studio, allegedly, hopefully. I'd say definitely have a great, great Monday. We're
going to be back. Stay tuned. Big 10 seeds coming out like in an hour and a half. See you then, bye.
