FSU Fights to Keep Top Recruit Mekhi Williams

On April 28th, Florida State Seminoles sit at six commitments for their 2027 recruiting

class, but they're battling hard to hold on to.

Their top prize, four star safety, Mecky Williams.

He's their highest ranked pledge, sitting at number 195 overall, and number 17 at his

position nationally.

Williams has been locked in with FSU for over a year, but other schools like Wisconsin

are pushing strong after his recent first visit there.

He came away impressed, putting the badgers right at the top of his list now, even as

he keeps options open.

This six-foot-two 160-pound Florida standout exploded last season at Leonard High with

33 tackles, two picks, and four pass.

FSU was the first to offer him back.

In January 2025, landing his commitment a month later, and he's still their only top

300.

Upcoming official visits could shake things up.

He's heading back to FSU on June 5th, plus trips to Wisconsin and Miami later that month.

These trips give everyone a shot to sway him.

FSU's got work to do fending off flips, but with their early lead and homestay pull, they're

still in prime position as this recruitment heats up.
