It is Thursday on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast. We are having a problem with our students. The math skills of American eighth graders have dropped the largest amount in fifty years according to the National Report Card. Test scores have been dropping since 2012 and the pandemic did not help any at all when it comes to the test scores for American children. Ike Turner Jr., the son of Tina and Ike Turner, was arrested in Texas. He was stopped for a traffic violation but the 64 year old man had crack and meth on him. Ike Turner Jr. tried to eat the drugs to hide the evidence. Scottie Pippen is required to give his ex-wife, Larsa Pippen, half of his Chicago Bulls retirement money. The courts are saying that she is entitled to that money since they were married in 1997. Courts are saying that the money is to come to Larsa Pippen in one lump sum. Previous rumors that Tyler Perry has finalized a deal to buy BET is not correct. It is said that Tyler Perry is still trying to finalize the deal but he is balking at the amount it is selling for, which is over $3 Billion. There is a decision looming by the Supreme Court that could end Affirmative Action when it comes to college admissions. The RSMS crew talked about how this could affect black and brown students.
