Chiefs made some moves, adding some people to the practice squad and lost one of the guys that they had on the roster on the original 53 man roster.

1:00Ian Kevin Knowles, we're going to talk about that a little bit later. But we're going to start talking about the practice squad additions that this team is making. Had a couple of spots still left open and it looks like they've filled them at this point. They did. They brought in four guys today. Some had been rumored, some had not. I'm trying to pull that up right now. And they signed running back Nick Carter. He was with Atlanta this preseason. Ethan Driscoll. Obviously you know him. catered co-hoo. Obviously you know him. And then Ben van Sumer. Sumeran. I believe is how you say it. He was with the bills this preseason. A big strong fullback converted from linebacker. They did it just for me. I can't believe you don't actually know what his name is. How to pronounce his name. Like he's a fullback. I figured you would have that damn pat. You would you would think right. He plays in Buffalo. So I tried to put him out of my mind. Now he's in Kansas City. And the thing that I like about it is obviously. I want to play with some power and I want to put it on a defense. And as an offense, I think you need to set the tone. What they're doing on offense is going to be very interesting. Because I feel like they're going more towards a zone attack.

2:01With the additions they made in trading for a couple of offensive linemen. There are more athlete and aligned in training. But I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to do. If they're athletes and aligned in training, then they are finished like power offense alignment. But this is the ability. This leaves Andy the option. If goal line doesn't come through or they're not getting off the ball on inside zones. They feel that they can get in the end zone. Where he can come in and play some smash mouth. If he wants to. I expect him to be a guy that isn't active. Most weeks if it is, it's because he'll show some special teams prowess. I hope that he will. But every now and then I think he got to let that loose and set that tone with let in the fallback out of the cage a little bit. Yeah, and I would love to see a week one just because it would be something completely different that the brokers wouldn't be ready for. But I don't expect that that's that's going to be the case considering he's just getting here. Although they could we'll see the interesting thing on on my end with this signing when we talk about the fallback is.

3:01I think that they went out and did this. Yeah, they like the fallback position. They went out and did this because they're in a position where they don't have a tight end that can really block. So this gives them the ability to have somebody that can come in and give them kind of a six blocker on the field that's not necessarily going to be. You know an offensive lineman and so it kind of gives them a little bit more. The ability to run power in that regard. Obviously he would have to be activated from the practice squad. And we'll see if that ends up happening at all this season, but that is kind of why I think that they made a move like this is because they don't have a guy at the tight end position that could come in and be a blocker. Yeah, absolutely right. Yeah, and when you look at his grades like that's what he excels in he's been used well in Buffalo to do that. And he can get out and block on a screen and we've seen how many screens they've been running this season. Makes a lot of sense to me bringing back Driscoll. I think is a no brainer just because he's familiar and you have really turned that position. I don't think that he showed me enough to be on the 53 this this year.

4:05So he would be a break glass kind of situation for me. Yeah, but they absolutely need somebody just in case they have any injuries at the position we've seen how quickly and how dire that can become an issue. And bringing in another rain back. So now they have two on the practice squad makes a little bit of sense considering they only have three on the active roster. I don't expect the carters going to be a guy that will be active anytime in the near future. Just because I think that you're only going to probably have three guys that are going to be active anyway, but it is something that is interesting and we'll see if it continues to turn. Yeah, and I was really hoping and maybe EJ got picked up. I've no he returned to injured reserve. That's what it is. So they have a lot. And I was hoping that Smith would come off of the injury. I forgot that he was with the injury destination. So they still have him for next off season as well. So give you a couple of. Well in that regard. There's a couple of them that went to I R. Yeah, it does make it easier to maintain the futures rates. Yeah, so I'll be very curious to see if those are guys that stay on I R this entire year because it is something that if they put them on I R,

5:10they can release them later with an injury settlement of some sort and then eventually add them back to the team. That's one way they can eventually come back, but we'll see if that ends up happening. But the chiefs did lose one of their guys they had on their active roster at cut down day they lost Kevin Knowles. We're going to talk about that next. 7:21You can get into the action at fandal go there fandal dot com and get started. Now the chiefs did lose Kevin Ols. He ended up getting claimed by the Tampa Bay Book and ears. This is a situation that I don't really like for Kansas City. Obviously, they thought that he was good enough to be on the active roster. But he is not going to be in Kansas City and will be playing for Tampa Bay. I do think that this is more of a loss on special teams and really is obviously at the corner position. Though we did play for Kansas City at corner down the stretch last year. Yeah. And I think if there were an injury, I was happy to have him around practice squad, whatever, because he did show enough that I think he could step in had he been needed to finding a knickle cornerbacks, especially late in the season after the trade deadline and everything becomes pretty difficult. So yes, I think he'll get a chance to actually get on the field in Tampa Bay a little bit more than he would have here. But I still wish he was here to be honest, but in retrospect, having him on the 53 knowing that he was the 11th DB, you knew this was coming.

8:31Yeah, and I mean, 11 DBs, you talk about 10 offensive linemen, those are numbers that you just don't expect this team to be carrying on a normal basis. So it's one of those things where yeah, it doesn't surprise me that nobles was the one, but I still I wonder when you sit here and you look at this, is it one of those things where nobles is, yeah, he's gone to Tampa Bay. But is did they keep all those DBs because they thought that they could trade Christian fold or because I'm sitting here looking at this, I still don't understand what they're going to do at that gunner position. Come game day unless Fulton's not going to be active and they're going to activate somebody from from the practice squad because I can't imagine they want Fulton running out there. You know, playing special teams. I don't know that that's a very good question. The choices that were made specifically to accommodate the special teams this year are not clear. They're not straightforward. There are circumstances. They're probably only Dave Tobin and you heck know as to why these decisions were made.

9:32Yeah, I mean, you can go a lot of different directions when you start talking about the special teams and how that's going to play out. I do think that you talked about the fullback is being a guy that can help on special teams. So I do think that that also could play into if he gets activated because you know if he's going to be a core special team or he can help you with special teams that maybe he can and you can have for. And you're going to go shorter in another position like tack or I like tight end like just because you're not going to be able to have all four tight and active on game day most weeks. I don't think it just cannot see that happening and being in the case is that you know the other guy that got cut. Marcus Harris is still a free agent right now curious to see if we are talking about him when we do tomorrow show being back in Kansas City. That's my thought as well and when I'm trying to gauge here or any of these four signings that the chief chief announced today on Tuesday. Subject to be the guys that get kicked if they do want to bring Harris back.

10:34Two guys being on the 53 that then get cut and one gets picked up and the other doesn't kind of surprises me especially because we were all pretty impressed with Harris's performance in the preseason. So my guess is he's on his way back. I just don't know in lieu of who. Yeah, and that's going to be the big question is who they make that move for. But I do agree with it. I think Harris comes back and you know we talked a little bit with Matt on the daily show if you haven't go check that out. His thought was in this makes a ton of sense to me maybe Eason is a guy that isn't activated week one and Harris comes back and is activated to give you something week one because Eason isn't quite ready for. So I think that's what I think is going to be a lot of things that are going to be being involved in the defense and because it's a hard numbers game when you start talking about getting in there and figuring out how many you're going to have it at every position. Yeah, it makes it that much more of a challenge. So be very curious to see how that turns out. Let us know in the comments what you think who could they be releasing to bring back.
