Gail Simmons, the judge from Top Chef, hit a rough patch during season 23 filming.

Just 48 hours into shooting their third episode, she tripped on a high sidewalk and smashed

face first into a boulder.

Luckily, Dr. Said he was only bad bruising around her eye, cheek and nose, no broken bones

or serious damage.

Her makeup and wardrobe crew jumped in fast, using heavy prosthetic makeup and a pair

of glasses to hide the marks completely.

Fans watching the show had no clue anything was up, and she called it a total save by

those pros.

Gail shared the whole story on Instagram, posting before and after picks to give props

to the team for their quick thinking.

She said most of the crew couldn't even tell what happened, and she's super grateful

for their skills.

It all healed up perfectly in just two weeks, thanks in part to some article cream she swears

by.

No long-term issues, and she's back to judging without a hitch.
