The Red Wings get a huge win in Buffalo to help their playoff chances.
We had an original six matchup in New York with some rookies having big nights, and we'll
take a look at the current playoff picture.
All that and more on the edition of Lockdown NHL Game Night.
Hey, hockey fans, welcome to Lockdown NHL Game Night, where we give you a nightly recap
of all the games in the NHL during the regular season and the playoffs.
Today's episode brought you by Fandall during the tournament.
Fandall is offering $300 back in bonus bets every day for 10 days at defandall.com to
get started.
I'm Eddie Garcia out in Los Angeles and the host of Lockdown LA Kings.
And I'm Mike Oste out in Pittsburgh, a digital journalist in this market, a writer for
Yard Barker, and cover all the teams and pro and call on the pro and call it scene here.
And also a host of the podcast, Mike Drop, which is played on serious XM.
So we had another wacky schedule in the NHL, which we'll touch on maybe briefly later
on, but only two games in the NHL on Friday.
One of them with some playoff implications, the other one, not much, but we will start with
obviously the one that did have some playoff juice to it.
And that was the Detroit Red Wings in Buffalo to take on the Sabers.
Obviously a very important game for Detroit.
If you've been paying attention, as they are battling to get back into a wildcard spot,
they've been there for a while.
But they have been fading a bit.
So needing a big win against obviously one of the top teams, one of the surprise teams
of the NHL this year in the Buffalo Sabers.
Detroit would get a major victory.
Five two was the final.
We're going to get into it a lot because we only have the two games on the schedule.
Well, do you want to give the first word to our local expert?
And that is the co-host of Lockdown to Detroit Red Wings.
And that is Brian Fisher was not always pretty, but that's a huge two points for the Detroit
Red Wings is they beat the Buffalo Sabers five to two in Buffalo.
A team that's been causing them problems all season long.
I mean, if you've been following the Buffalo Sabers season, you understand why that's
a young team, the lot of speed, very physical, and they can just wheel and deal.
And they're getting great goal dending for the long part too.
And Detroit, despite getting out shot, was able to kind of rise above it and steal a win.
They were the better team in the first period for sure.
The Red Wings racing out to a three to nothing lead with two power play goals from Alex
to Brinket and Lucas Raymond and then a five on five goal by Marco Casper.
And that was really all they needed.
Buffalo dominated the game from there on out.
The second period was just like the goal was to survive.
And they did long enough for Jacob Bernard docker to score his first goal was a red wing in
the third period, fresh off an extension against the team that did not qualify him and let
him walk as an RFA.
So a great moment for him, Alex to Brinket's three points in this game has him two away
from a new career high as he is well above a point per game at this point.
And more at Cider played nearly 30 minutes and his two assists set him at a new career
high as the Red Wings are back within one point of a playoff spot.
All right.
Thanks to Brian Fisher for that.
I always find it interesting when we hear from the local experts because they're heavily
invested in these games and sometimes they don't see it quite the way a person sees it
that's not emotionally invested in this.
But for me, Mike, the big takeaway for this was we saw a lot of desperation from Detroit
to start this game and it carried them throughout.
And as a team, as a fan of a team who's in a similar situation, this is what you want
to see start strong, start fast, get on top of that opponent, especially a good one
like Buffalo.
And I thought the first period was the story in this one, the Red Wings were all over
them.
They played with desperation.
They got a couple of power play goals, special teams were important in this one, but that's
the thing I really took away is that you're desperate.
You've got to have it and you've got to start strong and the Red Wings absolutely did that.
Starting strong and dominating the first period is why the Red Wings won the game and is
why they're back now feeling themselves having to mojo back and in a thick of things and
right on the brink of being back over the playoff line.
And we talked about this last night, I've actually written about this.
I had a pretty scathing story out that's already published on Yard Barker, pretty much calling
for Isman's head if they do not get in the postseason.
He's been there since 2019 in the position.
I fully understand the legacy of Steve Isman, what he means to the area, but the fan base
is saying what I wrote.
The fan base are locked on host there.
His is Meneca Wing those same sentiments on his show.
You could even look at his social media pages.
The media members in Detroit who cover the team every day have been saying similar things
and we're saying it entering the year.
They just have to get in.
They have to find a way.
There's more pressure on them than anybody else.
Isman cannot just sit back and say, well, I won three cups as a player, I have all these
goals.
I'm one of the greatest players in league history will eventually figure it out.
They're fed up with it.
They're fed up with it.
They're not going to take down his number being retired.
They're not going to not celebrate him as a player.
He's hired to have the team win as an executive.
He's hired to build a playoff team.
We worry about being a cup champion again after that.
But to miss again and fade in the spring again after they were so strong in the first half
of the year, it would feel like Groundhog Day, the last couple of years with the roster
they felt was finally better to get in.
They also add Gibson who played well in this game did enough in this game.
We've seen more from him now as of late after he's had some hiccups throughout the
season.
And they absolutely needed the win, but I do think the pressure is still on them.
They're still not yet over the line.
And he didn't do that much at the deadline.
The Red Wings still, and every year, this is the issue, they are hesitant to make a big
move at the deadline.
They make minor moves.
Last year, if you recall, they pretty much did nothing.
And then he went out there and said there wasn't a move to be made, and they faded.
That's not going to work anymore.
This is not like he's been there for a couple years.
So they played like a team, though, as you're mentioning, that was aware of what's being
said.
I'm not going to say they read my gosh, these articles, but it felt like a team that was
aware that, okay, we let one go against Ottawa.
We let one go.
Yeah, that's a good team.
We didn't beat them.
We lost the regulation.
They didn't play well in that game.
They just didn't play well.
They looked lazy.
They look lackadaisical.
They look like they kind of were this fading team they've been, and they turn around
and do this to Buffalo, especially in the first period, hanging on through the rest.
And I was about to text you that, okay, Buffalo scored, Thompson scored.
Oh, this is when the red ones are going to collapse all over again.
They're getting out shot in this game.
Buffalo's going to like the lamp.
And then Patrick Kane would find a way to guarantee this victory for Detroit late.
They have these moments this year that makes it feel like that maybe this is different,
and maybe this is just going to get them over the line.
If they just get in, that'll show the necessary step to continue on with Iseman, continue on
the process.
I mean, honestly, Eddie, it's really nuts when you think about this franchise to be in
this spot.
Everyone knew they would eventually have to rebuild after their recent cup run and after
doubt to consent.
Aberg in that stretch there, but they've missed for nine straight years.
This will be 10 straight years in the history of the franchise.
They've never missed this many years in a row ever nine straight years in a row is already
the longest route ever for any original six franchise at any point in any show history.
And they have one of the longest streaks ever to get in of 25 years in a row to also own
this.
They got to find a way, but if you look at their remaining schedule, it's in front of
them now with that game against Philadelphia on Saturday, Ottawa plays Tampa, assuming Tampa
Bay finds, you know, their Mojo again and gets back to what they've been after their recent
hiccups.
That could be rough for the senators.
They could flip flop in the standings again.
Detroit just had to get this win.
They did.
And it's really impressive that they did it.
And it shows they have a lot of heart and maybe this year is different.
Maybe they heard the doubters and they want to keep playing hard for Isman.
They want to play hard for McClellan.
And they want this group to be different and to get in and they played like it.
It doesn't matter for Buffalo.
They're fine, but we will see the effort against Philadelphia though, because they've been
hot and cold.
So Red Wing fans will probably tell you, yep, this effort was great.
Ottawa's effort was not.
It would be very much like the Red Bings of this past decade and certainly these past
several years and certainly this year to follow this up, Eddie, where they lost to a team
that is below them.
That would kind of ruin the luster off this a little bit.
So we'll see how they follow it.
John Gibson two goals on 30 shots.
He had a save on Rasmus Stalin, where he was laying in the crease, stacking the pads and
lifted his pad up to kick it away.
That was pretty cool.
Patrick Kane, empty net goal and shushing the fans in Buffalo.
Yeah.
He's a Buffalo native.
I didn't know he was as disliked as he is in Buffalo, but he was getting the back of
the fans there.
And speaking of booing, the Sabers fans did boo the team off the ice after the first period.
And you might think that's a little much, but they didn't show up for the first part
of this game.
And I get that they're in and they broken the streak and that's great, but you want to
be playing a certain way going into the playoffs and that first period wasn't the first
period that you want to see going forward.
So yeah, and it's fair because as much as they are in and they've been one of the best
teams in hockey all year, they have a lot to play for and a lot of pressure on them.
Obviously, unlike Detroit, Buffalo's not experienced winning a Stanley Cup before.
The franchise has not been in the Cup finals since 99, Lindy Ruff with the coach then.
He doesn't have a ring on his finger, despite all the wins in his career.
This is a very young inexperienced team.
And Eddie, you know this as well as anybody, I know this as well as anybody.
Any fan over a certain age knows this every year.
We always see a dominant team in the regular season, crawl in, limp in after such a great
regular year, kind of do this, go to the playoffs and get upset early, whether it's first or
second round, often first round.
They almost seem like they're a little vulnerable.
Now they've been playing really, really well most of the year, but it wouldn't shock me
if they would get upset because they are kind of playing a little lesser than themselves.
They're now three in a row on the board, three losses in a row for the Sabers.
So that's a big deal.
You don't want to be playing like this.
I do think it's a bit much, as I said, knowing the history of the Buffalo franchise.
For them to be booing, the greatest Buffalo Sabers team of the last 15 years bar none, like
even if they would lose right away and if they win one series going into the year, Eddie,
if someone would have told you the Sabers are one of the best teams in hockey or likely
going to at least win one series, but the fans would boo them at the end of the regular
season.
You probably would have said that's insane because nobody would have thought they'd even
be in this spot, yet they are.
And we are also seeing a lot of fans boo some teams.
Detroit got booed in that game at home against Ottawa.
Just these fan bases are getting a little relentless here in these final 10 games as everyone
wants to get towards the playoffs, but Buffalo, in regardless, Detroit, not so much even
after the victory, but a huge victory to say the least.
And we will see how they follow it and that may tell the story of what they do the rest
of the year, but a lot of pressure on them for sure.
So again, Detroit 86 points there.
One point back of the islanders of the final Wildcard spot in the East tied with the senators,
Buffalo 96 points there are two points up on Tampa Bay for first place in the Atlantic
Division.
All right.
We had a nice night for young players at Madison Square Garden.
We'll give you some details on that next here on Lockdown NHL game night.

All right up next we had a original six match up the black hawks playing at mass square
guard against the Rangers both team celebrating their 100 years in the national hockey league
does an original six match up do anything extra for you Mike at all.
Not really anymore I mean it's still a cool footnote I mean I'm a history buff so I
do like like it I don't think the casual fan really cares I don't think it's it's marketed
to matter as much but 100 years and these franchises likely want to forget this one this particular
season I don't think it's going to be one they're going to put up on any wall or hang
any banner for or be remembered for anything of note really outside of rebuilding to whatever
the future becomes so it's it's an interesting thing and it also is interesting any that
the NHL unlike really every other professional league because every other league has certain
franchise that have been around longer than any other that are marquee franchises but
the NHL does distinguish the original six tab it still means a lot to the league more
so than say the other franchises care about calling their marquee franchise is something
outside of yeah certain franchises mean more in a marketed more in matter more maybe
to the history of the league in fabric of those leagues but there's no original something
label on those so it's a cool thing but it also shows you that you know original six so
some of these franchises have some accomplishments way back that are inflated for their overall
collective that weren't against that many teams it's a little different than what we're
dealing with now but it it's it's cool it's it's different it's cool for sure I I still
like it myself but I don't know if most NHL fans probably care about that label I think
some people push back on it you know a little bit but for me personally if it's if I have a
choice between a original six matchup and you know Columbus Seattle I'm probably going to watch
every I guess I think it matters to me who's on the teams like if these teams are all out of the
race and there was a mere of games on and I'm going to watch a hockey game whether I'm doing this
show or not like I like to watch Celebrini so if say San Jose is playing if say it's San Jose
in Seattle or this original six matchup I might be tempted to watch Celebrini over Rangers Black
Hawks knowing that the Rangers and Black Hawks are both going nowhere this year and having rough
years so I guess that's that's kind of where I'm at but I I get the original sick label
mattering to well as far as these two teams this year as you mentioned it's been a forgettable
season for both both of them are trying to get a number one draft pick a high pick and they're
certainly right there in the running we'll tell you where their points are afterwards but this
was actually a special game for some young players specifically for the New York Rangers they go
on for a six one victory and some first some first for rookie players in this one we'll see what
our local expert the host of locked on New York Rangers John Chick has to say about that you know
tanking be damned I'm really glad that the Rangers won this game and you know I can understand
fans that want to see the Rangers lose at this point because it does increase your chances of a
better draft pick a higher draft pick but you know for so long now this season this this awful
season that the Rangers have had we've all been calling for this team to play the kids they are
finally doing that there were six rookies in the lineup in this game that's fun that's exciting
and it's even more exciting when those rookies obviously play well and key the Rangers win
you had Yaroslav Himalosh who continues to play an impressive hard-nosed brand of hockey you've
got drew four to skew making his NHL debut in this game and picking up a point a secondary assist
on the final goal of the Rangers scored and he played a solid game even other than that
you've got Adam Sakura in his second game scoring the first goal of his career and what a moment
that was the the Render players looked happier in that moment than they have in I don't even know
how long and then Dylan Grant of course doing his thing between the pipes he gets his first career
win so I mean you look at that and the last three guys I mentioned by the way those are the three
stars of this game those three players have a combined five games played in the NHL so youth
movement is in their way things are I mean they they don't look great for the Rangers but you know
for for one night this was awesome to see it was nice to see some potential shown by these young
players and it's nice for the Rangers to get a win I know people want the hydraphic and everything
but you got to have some nice moments like this along the way and happy that not only the Rangers
won but the young players obviously contributing in a big way gonna break it down the next episode
of locked on New York Rangers do not miss it all right thanks to John chick for that it was you
could really feel it watching the game it was a special night yeah I'm sure Adam Sakura is still
smiling he couldn't you couldn't wipe the smile off his face after he scored his first NHL goal
you know you got the rookie lap for Drew Fortescue and it's so unique to hockey where players can
get eliminated in their college season and sign an entry-level contract and next thing you know
they're playing at Madison Square Garden which is wild you know and this is a guy from Pearl River
New York I mean a dream come true for him and then you've got a young gold tender and Dylan
grand getting his first NHL win in his second start so it was a really nice night for possibly
some future stars for the New York Rangers which is what they're looking at right now right they're
looking at the future they're looking for something to be optimistic about so that was that was
certainly the focus for the Rangers in this one and I and I kind of here are hosts is saying
there too that obviously tanking people don't like tanking in any of these sports but tanking
the way the formats work it does actually benefit the franchises if you're not going to go anywhere
certainly getting that hydra pick can make it a easier path to rebuild things however I do get
that if you're playing young kids you want to see at least these pockets of bright spots the show
that okay even if we don't have the one guy to build around yet there's core players here we want
to keep around we like we have a future with these guys it's not like we're totally at zero percent
there's something here so that's a positive they snap the six game losing streak and before that
after the Olympic rate they won four in a row the Rangers once they started playing these younger
players they've actually been more competitive and been winning some hockey games and maybe again
as he mentioned that's to the iron of some of their fans who just want the higher draft pick but
I kind of like this during pockets of time and to flip the script here Eddie I've been saying
for a while especially for a Black Hawk team that unlike the others who were in this situation
of either tanking looking for picks and not going anywhere this year whether they're original six or
they know who they're building around obviously kind of are just who they're building around
they have that guy they don't need the top draft pick as much they can use it with other picks
they can build around him the Rangers need to find that guy however they were so competitive early
in the season they weren't going to get in the playoffs that was evident but they've been really
competitive most of the year as of late that competitiveness has kind of waned where for you
do you feel the Black Hux are in their rebuild and the Rangers are in their rebuild which one of
these two franchises do you think is actually better off for the future in terms of these two
original six franchises that have kind of been floundering the Rangers thought they had a chance
entering this year they had a really disappointing year the Black Hux kind of knew where they were
but the way this season is ending maybe some concern for Chicago but who do you think is better off
between these two well it's an interesting question because I think this season has shown us a
pretty decent example and we'll take your Pittsburgh penguins as a prime example yeah
sometimes you can turn it around really fast if you make some shrewd moves yeah and the youth
works if the youth if the young players step up and play above themselves the penguins have
had that this year and I think the Rangers have a stronger core in place than the Black Hux to
so I would I would tend to think that I think the Rangers can turn it around quicker now if you're
gonna look like a long term how things are being built what's more sustainable that that remains
to be seen but I think the Rangers have have kind of a stronger base where they could probably turn
it around a lot quicker and I will also throw out their Alexis Alexis from the air suddenly he
is actually looking like the player at least more towards the player that they were hoping it would be
he's been great since the Olympic break and I don't watch the Rangers enough to know
what the difference is if it's Artemis Penaire not being gone and he's getting more substantial
minutes or a defined role or what it is he's got 10 goals he had a goal in this one is 22nd he's got
10 goals since the break so you can throw him in there I know he's not necessarily a you know a
young building block but he's a younger player that has maybe still is ready to fulfill his promise
and that could go a long way if you can turn more into the player they thought he was going to be
originally yeah and it's kind of weird to hear that but it's all legitimate but entering the season
in terms of the future now the Rangers thought they were going to contend but I think most people
probably outside of that bubble probably thought okay neither team is good but the black hooks are
better off because again they have that piece to build around they have their guide to build around
the Rangers don't really have that and they eventually trade Penaire in they're in this rebuild the
season didn't go anywhere you could argue again as I just did that yeah to disappoint a year they
had thoughts of contending entering the season James don't literally set it on WFA and they thought
they're going to contend early in the in the season and have this be a winning year but in all
reality Eddie I didn't think so like I don't most people probably didn't think they were going to go
anywhere but yet now you could certainly argue they have more pieces they have more depth there's more
to be confident in overall and the black hooks have a dar but then what else they've been competitive
but again that's concerning me even somebody that thinks maybe they could turn around quicker than
others so I don't think either one of these two teams is lifting the cup anytime soon here but we
will see how the offseason looks we will see how the draft looks we will see what these two franchise
look like next year and the Rangers finally have realized they are further away than they thought
they finally got mature and sold at the deadline they finally are now in a new era of hockey and it
is one that is going to continue on with Chris jury and company it appears so if that's the case
we will see how now his I guess second roster that is second stint of trying to build a whole different
group with the Rangers works but yeah the Rangers maybe it's not as dire as some would have thought
but at most most Rangers fans I know I know our colleague you're out because we just feel pretty
low on the Rangers chances of turning this around anytime soon who knows probably not a playoff
team next year either maybe the black hooks aren't either but in this game they showed you what the
potential could be that's something to take away for sure if you're a Rangers fan at least I guess
both the black hawks and Rangers are tied with 67 points they are tied for the second fewest in
the NHL both behind the Vancouver Conox so if you're looking at the odds of getting the higher draft
pick there at the moment uh dead even she goes to the mathematically in it right now because
they haven't been officially eliminated yet because of the West being so insane they have not the
Rangers have but they have not yeah up next we'll take a quick look at the latest as far as the
playoff races look that's next year and locked on NHL game night.

So if the playoffs started today here would be your playoffs matchups in the east sabers hosting
the islanders although New York is certainly battling for that spot hurricane toasting the
Bruins bosses been there all year it just kind of seems like they're not going to get knocked out
whiteening hosting the Canadians and the penguins hosting the blue jacket so we talked about
Detroit we briefly kind of mentioned Ottawa they both got 86 points they are both one point behind
the New York Islanders now the senators do have one head to head matchup against the
islanders coming up it's on the road April 11th red wings don't play Boston or the islanders going
forward and Philadelphia five points out but they do have a game head to head against both the Bruins
and the islanders I think they probably have to win both of those to have a shot but it's coming
down to it in the east and it looks like it's either Detroit or Ottawa battling the islanders
that final spot certainly. Yeah and the islanders have played one more game for whatever that's worth
as well the islanders have been the better team out of those three all year long they have
shaffer they have that defensive system that grinds you out and when they get up in games they
hold that lead granite they're not the greatest comeback artist granite they are always entertaining and
and you know have been hot and cold at times too but have it in net have it defensively maybe
could win in the postseason depending depending on how that style translates over Detroit has all
the pressure they have a roster that I thought could be good enough to be a playoff team this year
to print it Raymond Larkin I mean they have the group Gypsons been good enough in net that's
better than they've had in recent years and then the senators with Brady Kitschukkin company
I didn't think they had enough depth I didn't even think they'd be in this spot I thought they
would have faded sooner but since the Olympic break they have been hot they went through a stretch
there for over a month where they didn't lose regulation at all and that's how you get in the
race there you stack points even if you lose an overtime you get a point out of that out of those
three I think Detroit is probably the team that based on who they have remaining on their schedule
with one more game left to go than the calendars and only playing for I believe three or four playoff
teams the rest of the way in their ten or eleven games left they probably have the edges long as
they don't screw it up this weekend and leave the weekend with that one point bump if they didn't
lose an Ottawa or at least would have got a point out of that which was the prediction going in
based on their situation to that game the other day they would even be in a better spot now and
I think they have the most pressure of those three to get in because of their reads in last decade
where the islanders are kind of out of nowhere and had a schedule and maybe even Ottawa ahead of
schedule and not expected to do this entering the year but it'll be interesting I should mention I
should mention yeah that Columbus and the islanders are tied in points for third place in the metro
yeah that's not Columbus Columbus does have a game in hand but that kind of snuck up us
a little bit at least for me yeah yeah in the islanders dropped out and Columbus jumped in because
I kept watching Columbus and the wildcard race but that's something to keep your mind as well
and the Blue Jagger to have been so hot since bones took over they went from the worst team in hockey
to now being a playoff team you could even argue and this is the conversation in Pittsburgh a lot
amongst myself and colleagues who would you rather face in the first round if you're the Pittsburgh
penguins assuming the penguins stay where they are and get in although they've been up and down
and their schedule is not too brutal it depends on crossbeast status too we don't have that
officialized but if he starts missing games do they collapse do they lose out do they lose a lot
of games and do they drop so we'll see a lot still can change here standing change every day
but the islanders have been a pesky team to the penguins the blue jackets maybe you could get them
but they are also a problem they both could be Pittsburgh who knows especially without crossbeast
cross you could be enough maybe to be a difference maker two in that series so all of that is on
the board and then there's the whole other conversation of out of all these teams and of course
they aren't all going to get in any who do you think has the best shot to make a run out of these
bubble teams because sometimes we do see a team go out and know where the way the format is if
you get a first round series win maybe you could have an advantage the rest of the way
Detroit Ottawa throwfield healthy a bone there Columbus the islanders just in the east
you can give me a west team if you want but which one of those do you think actually has the
best chance to make the playoffs fun for that franchise yeah I don't I don't know that I love
any of them to be honest with you probably none of them would advance you I mean if I had to
pick one I'd probably go Columbus just because the way they've played down the stretch they've
kind of been in playoff mode the whole time and jet greaves has really been nice for them in net but
and the parents are vulnerable the penguins could be the vulnerable team that they would all
face I don't know that I have a really good feel on any of those teams as far as making a run
out west out west you would have the avalanche hosting the predators right now ducks hosting the
mammoth oilers hosting the golden nights and the stars hosting the wild still alive my LA kings are
one point out 76 points Seattle has 74 points they have three points out and Winnipeg five points
back the thing I think the thing though it is intriguing for LA is that they have the easiest
schedule the rest of the way and they have they have two head-to-head games against Nashville both
at home although whole ice has not been any advantage the king's this year but the the the path
is there for the kings yeah yeah nobody thought it would be all year getting coopitarian even if
they don't go anywhere would be an incredible story they have those games against Vancouver remaining
that you imagine are just guarantee victory two more two more yeah that's that's not like that's
you got a pencil in the four points and yeah I think you probably would even agree here as a
king's fan hosting locked on kings that if they would lose any of those games or any of those
that goober games you probably don't deserve to get in like you got to win both of those for sure
if you lose one of those games certainly in regulation you don't deserve to get in but
yeah that's a big advantage to schedule wise and you know out of that ball of wax of the kings
Vegas the oilers predators who are I don't know why I think any of them are gonna make a run
in the playoffs either really if dry settle comes back healthy and the oilers play like they
been maybe the last week since his announcement of being out for the regular season there's been a
little motivation back in that franchise after they've seen down in the depths most of the year
they gave it can take over a series kind of like I said Grozby maybe could for Pittsburgh maybe that
gives them to go a little further I don't want to go back to cup final this year but I could see
them getting out of the first round I could see them beating Vegas Vegas is seen kind of lethargic
I would pick Emmington right now probably in that series off McDabe alone unless something changes
but out of the rest probably again and and that be it but it is interesting so many bubble teams
to steal the phrase march madness and from college basketball right now in the NHL they have their
own version of the tournament almost a play in tournament of sorts like the NBA and their own
version of mark madness and yet in all reality they're all probably playing to get in and that be it
but getting in and that being it is better than not it just is for all of these franchises so that
shows you how much they really want to at least get in yeah and if you want me to pick kind of a
dark horse I could absolutely see the Utah man with making the western conference I could see them
beating the ducks and I could see them beating the winner of Vegas and crazy yeah I wouldn't I
think I mean I would know that I was put my money down on it but if you're looking at a team
that you think I wouldn't be shocked by that yeah that would be my pick I think I actually I'm with
you there there's enough depth there they're kind of coming out of nowhere they maybe don't have
McDabe but they have that wouldn't if you're gonna give me one of those teams there's usually a team
that does that every now and then in the angel with standing up play I was sort of different animal
there but goalie gets hot if they get enough gold tending I could definitely see that because
there's question marks in net hill jerry or whoever we're putting out there I guess
anger would be the guy but like if he falters and you go to jerry it's a guarantee loss at this
point like yeah I could see if Utah gets enough gold tending then sure I definitely could see them
being the team out of that out of that bunch maybe Nashville to maybe Nashville to the way the way
they've been playing all right that gets you set up for a busy and impactful Saturday of action
