Gardaí Reminding Clare Public Alcohol Can Be Detected Long After Last Drink

Gardaí are warning Clare motorists that alcohol can impair your driving long after you've had your last drink. As part of their Easter Bank Holiday Weekend Roads Policing Operation, gardaí are conducting mandatory intoxicant testing and regular checkpoints across the county. A breathalyser can detect alcohol for 12 to 14 hours after someone's last alcoholic beverage was consumed. Superintendent in the Clare/Tipperary Garda Division Eddie Golden says the devastating consequences of intoxication while on the roads can't be overstated.
