George Pickens Locked In with Cowboys

On April 29th, George Pickens just inked his franchise tender with the Dallas Cowboys for the

2026 season. That's a fully guaranteed deal, or $27,298,000. Straight up, he's locked in for

at least one more year. Earlier this week, Cowboys exec Stephen Jones shut down any trade talk,

saying they've got zero plans to move him. They also made it clear there won't be any long-term

contract negotiations this off season. Pickens plays out the tag, simple as that. Diving into his

background, this 25-year-old wide-out was a standout at Georgia, earning preseason all-American

and all SEC honors. Pittsburgh snagged him with the 52 overall pick in the 2022 draft,

but Dallas traded for him after last year's draft, sending a future third-rounder the other way.

Rapping up his rookie deal, Pickens balled out in 2025, suiting up for all 17 games. He hauled in

93 passes for 2,429 yards and nine touchdowns, proving he's a legit weapon. With his move,

the Cowboys keep their star receiver in the fold, setting up a strong attack heading into next season.
