Georgia Basketball's Shocking Tournament Exit

On March 24, Georgia men's basketball suffered a stunning first round exit in the NCAA tournament,

falling 77 to 102 to St. Louis in Buffalo.

The Bulldogs, who finished 22 wins and 11 losses with a strong regular season, never led

and trailed by 40 points late in the game.

It marked their second straight tournament loss under coach Mike White, both the worst

defeats in program history.

The southeastern conference went 13 wins and six losses through the opening weekend,

but Georgia's blowouts stood out as the worst for any SEC.

Team in a round of 64 games since Michigan beat Tennessee by 31 points back in 2011.

St. Louis, meanwhile, got sent home the next day in a 23-point loss to Michigan.

Players and coaches were caught off guard, admitting the team came out flat, despite being

more athletic on paper.

White called it unexpected.

Echoing sentiments from his squad after recent losses.

Fans are growing restless at a program that had it made back-to-back turnings since 2001

to 2002, and Georgia still hasn't won an NCAA game since 2002.

Looking ahead, White heads into his fifth year with a contract through 2031, but roster

turnover looms large.

The Transproportal opens April 7th, and he plans one-on-one meetings to gauge commitment

amid agents and family talks pulling players away.

As Georgia evaluates everything from workouts to next season's schedule, including trips

to North Carolina and Georgia Tech, the focus shifts too, breaking through and finally advancing

in March Madness.
