1:04This is Tamsen Green with the all-news 24 update. Germany's AFD is celebrating a strong result in the Saxony and Health state election. Supporters were seen cheering as exit polls were released, the party finding success for the first time since World War II. Party members say the result reflects growing demand for political change and hope it will bring the AFD closer to the government. Supporters also credited lead candidates or executives and the party's broader national momentum for the success. Athlete group stands down hundreds of employees as it secures a short-term funding agreement. The administrator says five lenders will extend their construction operations for another two weeks. Work on other sites will be suspended today as around 213 of 350 employees are being stood down. New South Wales Premier Chris Mittens has stressed while there is reason for concern, other major builders in the state do not rely on the same financing model. War veterans have laid down their medals in protest of a $5,000 cap on Allied health care services.

2:08Around a dozen veterans took pass in the protest over the budget measures which would see the annual amount veteran cardholders can spend on things like physiotherapy, psychology and occupational therapy. While funding above the $5,000 cap is available if an individual can prove a clinical need, returns lead groups have strongly criticised the move. Veterans argue respect for their service should not only be ceremonial. Labour is considering further social media regulation including a possible requirement for users to opt into algorithm-driven content. Australian reports that the move should help secure green support for the government's broader digital safety reforms. The coalition has raised censorship concerns while the government says it focuses on giving users greater control and strengthening online protections. Mr Besen says global supply is currently being restrained but expects a significant increase once those restrictions ease. He insists the US economy remains strong despite the temporary energy shock caused by the conflict. Mr Besen also says Washington's blockade and sanctions are designed to economically isolate Tehran and pressure the regime over its nuclear programme. The comments come as Washington remains locks in a trade dispute with Canada, negotiations between the two countries remain at a standstill. Pakistan has sent 100 tons of emergency supply to Nepal as the country grapples with devastating floods. The shipment includes tents, blankets, hygiene kits and medicine and is being flown to Kathmandu to support communities affected by the disaster. At least 1344 people have been killed while almost 4900 remain missing after floodwater swept away homes, roads and schools in areas
