Germany and Brazil deliver thrashings, Italy overcome Argentina

Michelle Owen is joined by Jack Lang and Nick Miller to reflect on the fifth day of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

Germany gave African Cup of Nations finalists Morocco a rough introduction to World Cup football in Group H at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in Melbourne / Naarm.

In Group F, the final match of the day saw Copa America champions Brazil enter the tournament against another tournament debutant Panama.

And the day’s action started with Italy scoring a late winner against Argentina in Group G at the Auckland / Tāmaki Makaurau stadium in New Zealand / Aotearoa.
