A Listener Production Do you have kids like Sarson? Careful. Careful. Sorry, cut it. This is important. Brian don't even think about it. It's Matt and Alex. Ooh, I'm sure people listening very, very closely to find the final clue for Matt and Alex of Five Raves in five days. Sydney line up announced already, Matt. We have had three artists announced. And yes, we've got another one. Two announced for you today. If you're like, what? Three. I didn't realize. Go back and listen to this week's episodes. You want to hear him and get near your phone because we're going to be playing the final act. Well, not even the final. We're getting special guests for each one. So the final one we're giving you a clue for later in the show, that'll be good. In the meantime, Matt, a time we're gearing up for a big weekend. You got any huge plans? Do I ever? I hit in a little bit of a family holiday. Woo! Some good friends of ours, actually. You would know them. He's heading off on a little bit of a trip with KLP.

Hey. Veronica Milson, the fans. Still I fall. I'm going to be here by the time you're listening to this. I could be in the stands at the MCG watching the American football international first round game the set for in Cisco 49ers versus the LA Rams. OK, OK. I want to hear about this, but also I'm going to chat about an interesting gent that I cross paths with on the weekend. So let's dive into that. Hey, this is Matt and Alex. Hope you have a good one. Everyone ready? We are. So excited. I tell you what, these American footballs are kind. They've taken completely separate approaches when it comes to performing at the highest level, you know, both on the west coast of America. It's 14 hours to fly to Australia. 49ers. They came nine days ago. So they do a climatized to our time zone, get over the jet lag. The Rams, they got in like yesterday at a playing today.

Oh, that's risky. And so it's like, we're not even going to try for jet lag. We're just going to get in, play our best at a get out. Because then you just don't have to re-aclimatize back to America. Oh, would you do that? Are you a nine days out person? I mean, if I was them and I was going to another country for a job, I would love to go nine days out and I would love to get acclimatized with the local craft beer scene. I'm not sure. That's what I think. These are lead athletes. In some cases, worth tens of millions of dollars would be popping down to a stomping ground in Cullingwood at the brew house to have a sample. But you never know. Yeah, of course. Yes, we all know how well-behaved a lead athlete is. So, fecal. I mean, what are you talking about? Yeah, anyways, you know what the worst thing about traveling for work is? The work? Yeah. Every time I check into a hotel, I'm always like, man, it would be so good to just not have

to do the thing that I'm here for. Unfortunately, I'm going to go downstairs to the conference room or whatever. You know, you've got to go to that meeting. It's always the cloud over your head. It does. I'd love to do a work trip with no work. Fanny, I want us to help us out with that, please. Now, listen, you said that you had an interaction. Oh, yeah. Well, I tell you what, I did have a work trip just on the weekend. I was hitting up Newcastle. Yeah. Thank you very much. Everyone who came, actually, I had a very big weekend. I was at the sunny coast last Thursday then I was on the goal coast and Friday morning for a brilliant Lego duplow event. And then with parenting expert Jen Muir, thank you very much. Did you run into Luke McGregor in Newcastle? No, I didn't. I know Michael, I know Michael Hing was there and stuff, but no, why? Oh. He lives there now. Yeah, he does too. And did you see the announce for the ABC show that I'm in? Yeah.

Did you? It's really quite funny, isn't it? Brian, did you see the announce for the show? Yeah, with our mate, Hugh Zee was on there. With Hugh Zee in it. Yeah, man, the comments were mad, bro. Yeah. I didn't read the comments. Oh, yeah. Everyone's happy. That went happy. Well, I think it's because it's an ABC audience, they have a particular kind of, I think they were venting their particular frustration with Hugh Zee at the moment. No, they were probably on his side. Hugh Zee's been very, very vocal about a waste of taxpayer money and given this show is funded by the taxpayers, I'm sure people are like, how much were you paying Dave, Hugh's? What an absolute waste. I agree with him. This is an absolutely dreadful use of taxpayer funds. Did I tell you that I bumped into Hugh Zee at the airport when I landed in Sydney for my show last Friday? No. Yeah. In the end. When we had him on the show, you were like,

you were in a different room. Like, I was the one in the room with him and you were yelling from the screen. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So now we got to, we got to, you know, bump shoulders at the airport there. No bad blood. It's all good. What did you say? I just said, you know, get out, how's it going? Talked about what I was doing there, what he was doing there and all that sort of stuff. And then I checked his Instagram page and he did what I did the other day where he, he ubered home from the airport after forgetting that he'd driven there. So I was like, oh my God, we're the same person. And I thought, geez, what's my future looking like? Am I going to start this, this tear soon? Ha ha ha. Anyways, finished the show, walk into the hotel. I'm like, I'll have a beer afterwards before I head up to my room. And there was a guy sitting at the bar and he was like, oh, hey, good show. I was just in the, in the show and I was like, oh, nice. Isn't this happened to you when you're in cans as well? Recently? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, but it's like different because it's the same story. It's a different story.

It's a different story, completely different story. Okay, Matt, trick it a beer, meet and a man. All right, it's joining the archives of these stories. Who's just been to the show? And I was like, you know, who did you come to the show with? He goes, oh, no one, I just came by myself. And I was like, oh, that's cool, man. I'm all forward doing stuff by yourself. Do you ever do things by yourself? That's King Behaviour. I thought about going to the movies by myself the other day, but I don't know, it's just, it's just such a long time. Oh my God, I would, the movies are the best place to go by yourself. No one's asking questions. You can just see wherever you want. It's great. What about you, Bron? Do you ever do things by yourself? Hmm, not really at the moment. Do you get launched by myself, Fabit? Yeah, but that's fine. What about like, you know, do you ever go to dinner by yourself? Do you ever meal by yourself? Dinner by myself, yes. Do I go to a gig by myself? Yeah, occasionally a gig by myself. Stand there and love it. What's your gig? So I was very impressed with this guy. I was like, you know what, good on you. And he's like, yeah, I love it. You know, I love, I'm really happy to do stuff by myself and I needed to pass some time anyway.

I was like, oh yeah, cool. And then I, and I, he said, so have you been part of this tour? Because it was part of the Sydney Company Festival Roadshow. And I said, no, no, they all were up in Port McCquarry just on the night before. And I was a bit disappointed I couldn't go because I really love Port McCquarry. And he goes, oh really? I was up in Port McCquarry yesterday as well. And I was like, oh yeah, what are you up to? And he goes, oh, you know, just, just seeing a couple. And I was like, oh yeah, okay. What do you like? See the couple of what? Exactly. And I'm like seeing a couple and he's like, yeah, yeah. And then I'm like, oh, and he's like, you know, if you know what I mean, I'm like, oh yeah. And he goes, yeah, and he goes, no, seriously though, I was. And I was like, oh, sorry, you were, you were seeing a couple like as in you were just sleeping with them. And he's like, yeah, yeah. So he doesn't like doing things by himself. Right. So I was like, right.

So how did that come about? And he's like, oh, you know, we've just on the apps, you know. And I've just got divorced after 21 years of marriage. And I was like, you know, didn't really know what to do with myself. So yeah, someone recommended one of these apps where everyone gets a little bit freaky. And suddenly, you know, just jumped on in. And someone was asking, it was in Port McCoy, and was just like, is anyone in the area? He goes, I'm now sort of friends with this couple. Like we can go all go out to dinner and stuff. And I just kind of do the thing. And then, you know, then she came over to my hotel room in the morning to, you know, do it again. But that was without the husband. But the husband knew. Just to be cute. Why do you like Port McCoy again, Matt? Why do you like going there? Just for my own. I just didn't really, you know, you know, when you hear the things from the movies or the TV shows, but is anyone actually like that,

he just went into full blown detail about this world of swinging and apps and everything. It's so funny. I had a conversation recently about, like, even if I had that inclination, I don't know where I'd find a time for this. Like doing all this, I don't know how you can put it into your weekly schedule. Right. I was talking to someone who was saying when they were growing up, right, the chef that they knew had two secret families, like one regular family and then a secret family. Who thought that they were his non-secret family? And both of the kids went to the same school. No. Oh, do you know? Well, that's how you do your time saving. I'm like, how did they not? Like how? Do you do that? That is impossible. Bron, have you ever been confronted with this kind of

nature of relationship? Flota? I, yeah, I don't know any couples, but I know I've know a couple of thirds. That's what a third is. You know a couple of thirds. I know zero thirds. Like maybe they don't want to tell you because you're telling people on the bottom of the heart. That's probably right. And it's so funny, because there's no shade, like two. Two people by each. No, I don't think so. You do whatever you want. This is where my questioning is going. Oh, forget about the sex. How do the calendars work? Why, how do you, particularly, travel for that long and come back? Well, he was saying because it's the same thing. And come back. Well, he was saying because this particular, one of the abs that he's using, it really is just for hookups. Right? So is it the app field? No, it wasn't that one. Because we did do a thing for field in comedy or public one time. And they got comedians to review people's field profiles.

It was very fascinating. And why, what is field? Is that like playing the field? Yeah, it's like playing the field. And it is an app where those less vanilla requests and interests are a bit more at the forefront. And I think there's a lot of thirds, maybe a couple of fourths. And potentially they could go to fifths and sixths. Oh, really? Well, he did say that the sex club scene was quite, you know, interesting. And stuff, because he was really sort of, but usually you have to go with the couple. So he's having to find a sort of friend with benefits who he would go with. So he could tag along. But he did say it's ever, I mean, has anyone, have you guys ever been to a club like that? Do they got me able to get into the Burgheim mat? There is no way that a German nightclub would look me up and down and say, this man is cool enough to enter the premises. I don't mean the Burgheim, I mean, just a general club. Although, what does it take to access this community? And should we be talking about it on our Adults Only Show?

How did this creep into our Friday, every day, Matt and Alex show? Well, it just reminded me that we need, we need to do this Adults Only Show, because I've got so much to ask about, you know, Bronn, did you, yeah, do you know anything about this? No, no, I'm out of that world. Okay. And to confirm, I was never in the world. Bronn had to head to the Badgerner gun and suspended with our pay. Yeah, because he was saying that it's like, you know, every couple is different and he just gets the call up, hey, you know, you're often with instructions, it'll be, she's gonna answer the door in wearing this, you're not gonna talk, this is gonna take place. Geez, that's a lot of trust to put in people. Isn't it, like, I just think it could the drive there, like, how, I mean, you've never met before. This is why he was at the gig by himself, because he was like, I just had to waste some time. I'm like, why? Like, waste some time, what do you mean? He's like, well, I'm just waiting for a concert to finish down the road where my other, my next couple is at. And I'm like, bro, where do you,

yeah, when do you sleep, man? How are you, this is wild stuff. Just throwing in a comedy show in between your next couple. Like, that's wild. There are plenty of questions. So if you are a third, please let us know things I wanna know. Like, do you sleep over in the bed or do one person have to go to the couch? Okay, yeah, please, please, thirds, get in touch. Atmat.n.alikes. We wanna talk to you for our very wrong share. Adults only episode. I think that was single-handly the most unsexy thing that's ever happened on this podcast. So I apologize. Maybe I should sit out the adults only episode. Maybe I'll be the one in the corner going, no, no, I'll just watch. Yeah. If you wouldn't mind. Well, Maddo, kind of, it is the moment we've all been waiting for.

Matt and Alex adding a fourth artist to our huge lineup for the Sydney leg of our five raves in five days. We're doing a 10th anniversary too. If you joined us in 2016 when we farewell breakfast radio, you'll know how much these events go off. Do you know, I saw a little bit of footage from one of our first raves. Oh, yep. Man, it looked absolutely heaving. And a total sweat pit. I mean, this dude's face was just mashed up to the DJ box as Sandstorm rips. Yarning for the Gern. I did post some photos from Dave Khan, of legendary photographer who had managed to keep all the photos. He took from our original Raven shave, Maddo Khan, which really kicked off our Raven career and set the benchmark for five raves in five days. And it did remind me that was the night

that I got kicked out of our own rave, leaving you in front of the DJ decks with... Let's all to no experience. Like a person they got of someone from the plane to try and fly the plane to plane because the pilot was sick. I got taken out because I was in the crowd and someone lifted me up and I crouted surfed because someone just, you know, it was against the will, crowdsurf. I just got, I got lifted up that. The security guard came and walked me out of the venue. I said, I need to go and change the song. Then the manager came out and said, what's going on? And I'm like, I'm Alex from Triple J. I'm DJing at the moment in terms of guys. You've kicked out the DJ. So I had to quickly rush back in and change the song. So I'm going to try and the good thing is people's faces mashed on the perspex, crowd surfing. We're unsure as to just how large we'll go off again, Matt O'Conn. Because we've made sure these raves cater for both ourselves and our audiences,

which, you know, we're 10 years older. I got the buddy to generative arthritis in my left foot. Yeah, my hair. I think when I wake up in the morning, it's all pretty quiet. I'm like, is that tennisist? Is that what's going on here? Yeah. I hear you. So we do want a cater and make sure that not only the bedtime for this thing a little bit earlier than maybe we would have in the past, but also, you don't have to have your face smashed on the class if you don't want to. I mean, we do want you to go hard, but. Yeah, also go sensibly. We could go harder than we did in the past, because now suddenly Matt, like if we went to arrive back in the past or the people who came along, what are they? Uni students, Traiti, they probably go on hard every week. They've got it out of their system, you know, on a weekly basis. You do a 10th anniversary five days in five days. There's no telling the pent-up energy that these mums and dads now, or these CEOs, business owners,

have been building up over now years. And so maybe the Matt and Alex, five days and five days could go even harder than the original five. You heard it here first. Well, it certainly will go hard with our guest lineup that we've got. And we've revealed three sets of clues for three different acts so far. And we are delivering a fourth set of clues for you right now. Why don't you hit it, Bronn? Let's see what we got. You may want to open your DMs and get mat.endodalex up right now. Just in case you already know the first three, you figured it out. Here is artist number four. We won Triple J unearth competition in. And got to play Splenda in the grass as a result. That was a big break. Oh, damn. And what a break. Main stage Splenda. That's huge. Triple J unearthed. OK, here we go.

Let's hear another clue. We had a song which came in at number two in the hottest 100. OK, these are some big boys. Woo! Final clue, Bronn, before we open the floodgates. OK, it's from... Oh, I'm supposed to not give you. So who is? Anyway, we're a three-piece band. We play electronic music, except we play everything live. OK, OK, OK, that's it. That's enough. Call it there. Get your guesses in. Who is going to be joining mat.endodalex at the Manning Bar? Four names revealed so far. We're going to reveal the entire lineup on Monday. And if you were the first person to message us all four names, then you could be joining us as well. It doesn't matter where you are in the country. Get in. We'll give you tickets to the rave closest to you. And we'll reveal the full lineup of which it could be even bigger, Matt O'Connor. We're going to be announcing special guests across the last few weeks before we count down to our awesome events,

which are going to be taking place. But get in now. If you can't stand waiting and missing out, head to matnallic.com.au right now. And buy yourself a ticket to the Sydney leg of the five raves in five days or any leg, because they're going to be absolutely huge, Matthew. Now, Bron, before we head off, just wondering, what are you up to this weekend? We haven't asked you. Randomly, I'm seeing Elise, who took over for me on Matt leave. Like, producer at least. Oh, Elise! And I don't think we've ever met in person before, but we speak all of my. What? So that'll be nice as Danny Melbourne. Wait, how can you speak all the time? Oh, like. She still a producer. She still works here. Oh, yeah, okay, okay, cool. Yeah, yeah. So, yeah, oh, that's so exciting. And you guys have kids' similar, Rish age. You're going to hit a playground or something? We are hitting a playground, actually. Damn, and oh, man. Gosh, the matnallic's war stories, I could tell, we'll be coming out in that particular convo. Oh, no. It's good to just be able to vent every now and again, isn't it?

Well, look, please say hi to producer Elise for us. And thank you for listening to another episode of Matt and Alex. We are going to be back on Monday with another ep and some more clues as to you will be playing at our Perth Rave. Oh, the people of Perth. You might want to start buying tickets Perth. It is the closest to selling out of all raves. So, yeah, make sure that you're in early. But if you want to risk it, feel free to listen next week. We'll catch you then. Bye-bye. Mow, mow, mow, mow, mow, mow, mow.
