Giants Sign Speedy Slot WR Austin

The New York Giants just signed White receiver Calvin Austin III to bring some speed to their

slot position.

This comes after Wandel Robinson left for the Tennessee Titans on a big four-year deal

worth $78 million, with about $38 million guaranteed.

Robinson had a breakout 2025 season with over a thousand receiving yards before heading

back to coach Brian Dayball in Nashville.

The Giants got Austin on a much cheaper one-year contract at $1.5 million, with incentives

that could bump it up to around $3 million.

It's a smart, low-risk move that keeps their salary cap flexible while filling the slot

role Robinson vacated.

Fans and analysts see this as a solid budget replacement since Austin matches Robinson's

quick twitch style as a slot guy who creates yards after the catch.

Just five feet, seven inches tall, Austin's elite burst and acceleration make him tough

for defenders to cover in short spaces.

Austin spent his early career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he put up 41 catches for 560

yards and four touchdowns in.

2025, averaging over 13 yards per grab.

He also handled return duties, showing his gadget potential.

Now joining a receiver group led by Malik neighbors with Darius Slayton, Darno Mooney, Isaiah

Hodgins and Gunnar Olshevsky, Austin adds motion and quick game threats.

He's best in 11 personnel sets, helping the Giants stress defenses without breaking

the bank.
