BRAN’S GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 1 EPISODE 14 & 15) SYNOPSIS
We kick things off with Dean coming over for movie night. It does not go well because it comes out that Dean wants a woman who will cook for him while watching the Donna Reed show.
At Luke's, Lorelai suggests that he paint the diner. He doesn't like painting. She does and offers to help, so he takes her up on the offer because HE LOVESSSSS HER.
The next day, Rory is asked by Babette to house sit for the night because they just got a new kitten. She agrees and goes to ask Dean to come over but they argue about Donna Reed so that's a no go on the coming over.
Rory has a baby chick that she brings home and asks Lorelai to keep an eye on it while she cat sits. She says ok and then promptly goes to Luke's to start planning the painting. The sparks between these two.
When she gets back home, the chick is gone! She calls Luke and is like come over, a chick is loose. He assumes that means something else, not an actual chick being loose.
He runs over and ends up finding the chick.
Rory decides to make up with Dean by having a Donna Reed night, complete with her making him steak and taters. They have a great night together with Rory playing housekeeper for her boy.
Luke finds the chick and goes to take some trash out at the same time as Dean taking trash out. It's a whole thing.
Lorelai helps Luke get the paint and they set a date to paint. Suddenly, Christopher rolls up on his hog. Oh, who's Christopher? It's Rory's dad and he's going to be staying for a couple days much to Lorelai's chagrin.
That night, he tells Lorelai he thinks he's really close to having his business stuff really take off and he wants to be more a part of Rory's life. Emily catches wind that Christopher is in town, so she wants to have him come over for Friday dinner along with Christopher's parents.
To say that this dinner doesn't go well would be an understatement. Christopher's dad calls Lorelai out in front of everyone and blames her for derailing Christopher's life. Richard kicks them out.
Feeling like her dad finally stood up for her, she goes to thank him. Richard explains he didn't do it for her, it was for the Gilmore name. And they get in a huge argument. She goes out on her bedroom balcony and so does Christopher. Naturally, they roll around on the cement ground.
While all that's happening, Luke is waiting for her at the diner to paint. He's sad. I'm sad. We're all sad.
The next day, she wakes up and remembers she promised Luke. She goes down to apologize and he's clearly hurt. When she gets back to her house, Christopher says he wants to marry her. They argue and she says no. So on his hog he goes.
Rory finds out that she said no to his proposal and she gets kinda sad. She just wants her parents to be married.
She goes to paint Luke's all by herself. They're back to being good.

This is a Bramble Jam Podcast. You're more the maverick. Hi! It's great to be here. Wow. Great to be here today. It's so good to be here. Hi! Happy Gilmore to you. Thank you guys. It's great to be back this week, flew by. Absolutely flew by. Yeah. And there's one question on everybody's lips. But I've been with Ryan Cook. Did any, in the intervening week, has anybody heard from Brad? He has heard from Brad. He has heard from Brad. I said that Ryan Cook was self-defined and I could not find him anywhere. And you would have thought that the entire, you know, the throngs of people that listen to this show would have been able, over the course of, all right, combed out, would have been core, other course of a week, been able to make some headway on this.
Nothing. Nothing. I even put out it. I put out an APB on the Christmas Cousins with our 47.83 million listeners. That's right. Nothing bad. What is this? It's going to be awful. Maybe next week. Maybe next week. It never can tell. Because you might be back in studio next week too. Yeah. We get 50 ratings. We're getting close. We're getting close. So if you're listening, give us ratings and I get to come back down. It's going to be a lot of fun for us. Sounds Ryan Cook. He gets an autographed Gilmour The Marriere t-shirt. We don't have. It'd be a one of one. We would actually make it on Canva. We would print it out on Forth wall. We'd sign it. So Ryan. Would sign it. I can't speak for him. We can't promise that. Yes. You know what's a forgery of this. No, we eat the end. I'm just saying. You're trying to tell you no. That's all you know. We're not going to get to the specifics of how many we have. have review wise, but we're not. We're getting there. You're close. You can make a difference right now. That's right. Well, now's it next week. It'll be a big reveal. And you'll
know it's potentially good news, but it's not just the deck, the hallmark rating. It's on the other other. You got a search. Go more than Mary or on it. Just like Goku Bladdy did love this show. Peek humor. Crying emoji. Crying emoji. Prayer hands emoji. Shout out to Goku Bladdy. Goku. That's Goku Bladdy. Yeah. We got to have Goku Bladdy's last is a lifetime. It's crazy. There's no way to know whether or not Goku Bladdy is Ryan cook or not, because that's a, that's a handle. I mean, maybe it's her name, Goku Bladdy. I'm not saying it can't be. Just say there's no way for us to know. I'm the plume. Yeah. It's Ryan cook. How did you say nom to plume? Nom to plume. No, I'm to plume. That's very nice presentation. Oh, well, yes, we were excited about potentially having you in studio again next week. Jazz to do a lot of fun. Stop the car. I'm just waiting for that rating. You gasped it up a week ahead of time. I mean, you are really, are you worried
about a gas shortage? Yeah. I thought I wanted this world. And I agree. So you are in here first. Chad Cousin Wilmington North Carolina. That's going to be a gas shortage. That's right. Gas up now, everyone. We haven't, you know, we know what happened to Ryan cook. Yes, we don't. We don't know. I'm very excited because we work cruising through season one, folks, we're having a lot of fun because we're doubling up after this week, only three more left for season one. Can you believe that cruising right along? I would at the very least, we don't know for you are gasped up. You are ready to go. I would suggest that what if we did the rest of the season one and the start of season two and person? Yeah, I think we should do that. That's a good way to segue. Make sure we're sticking with it into that season. I feel great idea. I'll stay for the full four weeks again. It's fine. No, I think it'll be actually comfortable. Thanks. Wow. I bet it won't be as hot when you
come in March or April, whenever that is. Yeah. That's right. We're talking about two episodes. Once again, I'm going to, I'm going to speak some French here, but that's the name of the episode. So don't get mad at me. Episode 14, that damn Donna Reed, that damn Donna Reed. Okay, Danny. I just said the title that I said, that damn Donna Reed is what you said, damn, why did you say damn like that? You said, damn, man, I'm going to have to leave the show at this. I was saying, yeah, right. I didn't sign up for this. You talk about the Hoover Dam. Yes. It's a damn episode. It's about February, February 22, 2001 in, leave the end, leave it. It's just D. I.M. Yeah. Leave the end and get out. It's like the opposite of cook with the E. That's where it came from. Yeah. You dropped the end. You had to feel like we're really on track now February 22, 2001. And then episode 15, Christopher Robbins returns. I'm sorry. Christopher. You know, it's almost like we've been doing this
without breaks of a week in between to recover. This is not what is the poo. This is nothing to do with Christopher Robbins. 100 Acres Star Hala. This is where we are. 100 Acres Dam Donareed. That's right. Here we go. March 1st. He doesn't want to stop it. We kick things off with Dean coming over for a movie night. It does not go well because it comes out that Dean just wants a woman who will cook for him while watching the Donareed shop. At Luke's, Lorelai suggests that he paint the diner. Taylor loves this idea. He's been wanting for a long time. But Luke doesn't want to paint. He doesn't like painting. She does like painting, though, and offers to help. So he takes her up on this offer because he loves her. The next day, Rory is asked out, not asked out, asked by Bat Bat. Chris Robbins. The next day, Rory is asked by Bat Bat to house it for the night because they finally got
a new kitten. Remember cinnamon's wake. Yeah, shut up. Finally got a new kid's rest and send them. We hardly knew you. New kitten, but they're going to be gone. So just come over and make sure the kitten's okay. She agrees and goes to ask Dean to come over, but they argue once again about Donareed. So that's a no-go for the coming over thing. Rory has a baby chick that she brings home from school. The class project asks Lorelai to keep an eye on her chick while she goes to sit on the cat. She says, okay, and then promptly goes to Luke's to start planning the painting, the sparks between those two after. When she gets back home, the chick is gone. She calls Luke over and is like, there's a chick loose in this house. Come over. He assumes that she means something else and he comes running over. He decides, though, when he gets there to help find the chick, Rory decides
to make up with Dean by having Donareed Knights complete with her wearing like a Donareed inspired dress and making him stake in taters because he's a man. They have a great night together with Rory playing housekeeper for her boy. Luke finds the chick and goes to take some trash out at the same time. Dean is taking some trash out. Just two men taking trash out at the same time. It's awkward. It's fun. They both decide to leave. It's at this point that Rory sees Lorelai. Lorelai sees Rory and is like, they're having a big laugh about this. Lorelai helps Luke get the paint to paint suddenly. Christopher Robin comes rolling up looking for his sweet bear. Who is Christopher? You might be wondering. It is Rory's dad. He's going to be staying for a couple of days. Much to Lorelai's sugar in that night. He
tells Lorelai that he thinks he's really close to having his business really take off in California. He wants to be more a part of Rory's life. Emily catches wind that Christopher is in town. She wants him to come over for Friday night dinner along with Christopher's parents. It'll be nice to catch up. To say that dinner does not go well would be an understatement. Christopher's dad calls Lorelai out in front of everyone blaming her for derailing Christopher's life. Richard kicks him out, feeling like her dad finally stood up for her and is proud of her. She goes to thank him. Richard explains, I didn't do that for you. He was attacking the Gilmore name and they get into a huge argument. She goes on to her bedroom balcony where she always goes to do some thinking. Christopher knows that. So he joins her as well. Oh, bother. Naturally, they roll around in the cement for a while. Who knows what they do? All of below the balcony. While all of that is happening, Luke is waiting
for her at the diner ready to paint because she said that she would come over. He said, I've said when the poo said, doesn't know Christopher Robinson. The next day she wakes up and remembers what she promised Luke. She goes down to apologize. He's clearly herps. When she gets back to her house, Christopher says, hello, I'd like to marry you. They argue about that. She says, no, we're not getting married. And so back on his hog, he goes the head back to hundred acre woods. Rory finds out that she said no to his proposal and gets kind of sad because she does like the idea of her parents actually being married. She then goes to paint Luke's diner all by herself. They're back to being good. And that was Gilmore, girl. Season one episode 14 and 15. We did it. Let's take a break. We are going to come back. We're going to break these two episodes down here on Gilmore to the
everybody. Welcome back. We're talking about Gilmore, girls. We're still in season one. We're talking about episodes 14 and 15 this week. Lots to get to without delay. It's time for the hot take. Believe it or not, we've not delayed. That's crazy. That is that's crazy. I know. A lot of people think that we're on schedule right now. I see the time. All right, Chad. Let's start with the hot take. What do you think about these two episodes? Oh, really fun. Episode 14. I really liked how they started off with the construct of the Donna Reed episode. And Dean, sweet and a scene Dean is sitting there just applauding the normative gender roles that he's seeing and really liking it. I have no idea that Laura and Rory are just disgusted by his take, which led to that kind of technical or dream sequence. The neighbor's house next door more on that later, but I thought that was cool. How they did that. In episode 15, we see the dad show up. We've heard him, but he shows up, which is cool because I didn't know what kind of contact they had before. I love the casting. It really looked like Laura and Chris could be Rory's actual parents. That
was good. That gave it some gravitas and realism. And I liked how Richard gave his side of things telling Warly, you know what? Here's my view of you abandoning us. Here's my view of you leaving and why I feel this way, which we didn't get before. It's always Emily and Laura. Not always too busy reading the newspaper usually. I mean, you gotta take care of the news. The journals aren't going to read it. It's a lot of fun. How much money he made or lost that day. That's right. And that's more important, which is Laura Lies learning, which is crazy. But she took Rory from them. She ran away. Didn't give them a chance. So they feel like maybe they would have been better parents to her if she didn't. They had these harsh feelings. Hopefully, you know, work out in future episodes or not. But it was just fascinating seeing that. So my hot take was just really like that we were getting to see other sides of the story here. So it was good. Good progress for the story. They're all going to go to family therapy. Yeah, they're all going to say they love each other and sorry. It's going to work. Yeah, I'm sure. So these two episodes are interesting because they are,
they have this connecting through line of Luke, the paint job, all of that. So these two episodes were connected in a sense, which is fun with that happens with the way that we're doing it. I, you know, the Donna, the Donna Reed thing, that storyline, Rory dressing up like Donna, doing it like, I didn't love it. It was like, I, I, I, I understand what's happening there. And I really liked Luke and Dean coming out at the same time. That whole thing was very funny. But I didn't love it at all. I didn't love it. But I did love the episode with Christopher. I'm happy Christopher has, has been introduced in, in the show now, an interesting wrinkle to the Gilmore Girls storyline here. We know so far, we've just been, as far as the guys of Lorelai go, we've just had Luke, we've just had Max Medina. And now we have Christopher. And it's just interesting.
It's like, it's like she has, she even says in this episode, I'm always going to love him. And there's this interesting connection that she has with Christopher that she'll never have with Luke and never have with Max, that she can't get rid of even if she tried to because of the daughter that they've made together. So it's an interesting thing. She doesn't discuss Christopher in earlier episodes. No, that much is passing references. Yeah. And so that was, I really liked that episode. Obviously, the stuff that happens with his parents, we're finally getting some substance out of Richard, because it's all, all of the blame so far has been put on to Emily, rightfully so Richard hasn't said anything. Which is bad if not worse. Yes, but we do get this, this argument and it's continuing to give some, you know, backstory slowly as to what the relationship is like, which is really interesting to contrast that with
the conversation that she has with Luke. And we talked about it a little bit, but on the way to the hospital and how she still views Richard as just like, good guy, he's a good guy. He's always been there for like all this stuff. And then like clearly what like she was so happy to hear basically like my daughter, her career, like shit, she's worked hard and she's done all this stuff. And like to find out that the only reason why he was doing it was for selfish motivations was crushing to her and was a really like, I thought that scene was really well acted by both. And he's clearly a phenomenal ad Herman's amazing, but to see the range there was great. I love my team like a little girl again, like a younger girl. And when she's around Christopher too, like it's a, it's a, like this, the different type of lore lie. And then like the, but the thing with Luke with the painting, like it was really well
crafted kind of a two episode arc, which we haven't seen a ton of, so I really liked that part of it. So that's my, I love these two episodes. I getting showing Richard for the selfish, like me monster monstrosity that he is was great. Like I, I don't like those characters. I think the show would be better even without that particular conflict being a regular occurring conflict. I know that that's not the show I'm going to get in that's fine. But for him to, to say finally out loud, you're an embarrassment. And you're embarrassed me. And it's just all about me. And the way you made me feel and how you made me look in my community and my stature, like that was really good because Emily's been the real, real outgoing monster. And Richard's been the quiet, quirky, funny, pithy monster. But he's just as much of a monster. I really liked that. I really liked the episode with Donna Reed. I did want there to be more edge. So when Rory does this thing where she dresses like what they would, the kids would now would call the track a tradwife.
What when she does that bit, I was expecting more edge like I was expecting her to turn it on him at some point. And she didn't. And so that was a little bit confusing. But I love how the episode was structured. So I like, especially thinking about TV in the year 2001. This was a radically feminist episode of television on a broadcast channel. And I thought it was wonderful that this mom and daughter have this bond. And then talk about this idea of of like contemporary versus or like defined gender roles, dovetailing in why we don't need your dad to like to come back like why I don't need to marry your dad just because he's your dad in the next episode thematically really good stuff here. The structure really good. Some fun comedy with Luke and Dean meeting out in the yard as a as a two-parter, which it isn't a two-parter, but as a two-parter maybe my favorite.
I really enjoyed this a really good balance of the week to week cozy, funny Gilmore and the more serialized plot elements of a mother and daughter learning to be adults together Gilmore really enjoyed these two episodes quite a bit. Let's get to all the fields when we're talking about what's these two episodes gave us feels chat. Rory's dad showing up gave me hopeful and sad vibes because you see in the little Rory's face how hopeful she is oh dad's gonna be here maybe they'll get together she really needs her dad we see Laura like as someone who's in her early 30s still needs her dad you always do and I just felt like she was like oh wow my dad's gonna be back in my life he cares she's doing well then he can't buy a book he meant to but he couldn't did the credit card gets declined so she wants him there and I would say it because the whole time you know the guys like a bit of a loser and he's just gonna leave again selfishly look after himself and that's even going to be worse than if he had not shown back up. Laura lies dinner with her mom Emily
hands her a wine and it's a boredot clearly French and Laura like oh it's good you can even taste the Italian feet stomping the grades and then the mom says no it's a French wine and Laura like goes well what's in the Italian foot doing in the line it would pay me laugh out loud. Another funny yeah I thought that was a little I love Lucy vibes going there. Laura Rory is doing the full Donna Reed thing I thought that they lit the two houses I've told me if you guys got this as well differently so the one house with Donna Reed was like a Technicolor kind of 60s vibe correct and when they showed together the one on the right was like more modern and just dull yes it's almost like a dream sequence kind of thing it was weird uh I didn't know but I'd like that they did that a lot I didn't lie of that they were so grown up I don't know I don't like those scenes again I have a door to around the same age I don't like seeing you know what your daughter going home oh going home and making her boyfriend's steak and taters dress and I just absolutely I just I wanted I didn't mind like Rory doing something like
that made sense to me I thought at some point when he basically when Dean kudos to Dean going hey that's that's not this is not what I want like this is not what I my because if not Dean's character is going to take a real turn if he's just going to be the guy that's a chauvinist uh I like that's going to be tough but I wanted more than that I wanted her to like show him like there's nothing wrong with wanting to stay home whether you're a man or a woman there's also nothing wrong with that not being normal let's not make that typical you can make it whatever you'd like to make it and I felt like it just wasn't fully realized but I I agree with you and this will be my feels too because I do feel like it was one of the few things that wasn't complete I agree the way that they lit that house that house is weird I'm sure we'll talk about that in the way what's that bad uh and then you have this uh a much darker more like monotone look on this other side and when they meet with the trash cans you have these two kind of like apish men out there and it is a very it with the women standing higher like there was a lot
of symbolism like they packed in a lot of really good feminism that needs to be more overt but they couldn't make it that over probably in 2001 unfortunately but then like I felt like that rory thing I just felt like they didn't quite complete the circle on it do you know what I mean like it just do it all in right yeah she missed the learning opportunity was a lot to do in a very short amount of time because we see her on the couch and she's just in normal clothes trying to reach Dean and then the next time that she he says he calls like she's ready to she's made all that fish she's done all this stuff so right doesn't even know for sure it's out of box and stuff I mean I don't you know out of box so I want to be clear right no I had one more feel because if I did miss it we have a Gilmore girl surfing reference yeah where she says Laura lies this uh she's different her dad hit his head surfing rink on I searched rink on Puerto Rico that area many many times and of course fantastic and I got great watch right now so they had to call it out yes um I do
want to give a quick shout out to Christopher saying the title of the TV show she says he says the Gilmore girls which you get sometimes a movie I don't feel like you get a lot of shows where you hear that not like this that was that was that was I thought they handled Chris Christopher perfectly so like I thought he they handled imperfectly this guy who is smooth swav but and they have a natural connection and it made sense that they would they would have that intimate moment but also you know you see why he's not going to be a part of their love and I thought like I love the like the familiarity familiarity that too that they have together is unlike any other relationship that she has on the show correct um and and and this is my biggest fear with the prior cook like to be clear like old friends are the best friend like there's a there's something that happens there when you know two old you know love or best friends best friends best pizza friends you know so that's all definitely a fear but I like the hardest that I've laughed
so far yeah if you see a pizza delivery next door at a dance house and there's no cheese on top are you just going to every time I'm going to run over and be like let me inspect the pizza cook um I the hardest that I've laughed so far was the the awkward family gathering right Christopher's parents are there Laura lie blurting out that she doesn't like George Bush but going back and then this whole thing happens this whole entire blow up everybody's mad Christopher parents leave they are left alone and Christopher goes yeah and you brought up bush because it was so funny it was the perfect time amount of time to pass to make it and the fact that like well go at once again going back to the like how comfortable they are together like he felt comfortable enough after that everything that happened to make that joke it's it was great really like that all right let's take a break we're going to get to the way why the weather here I or I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I cook whatever here I get more the mario
hi baby welcome back now are you talking to Elvis yeah I'm talking to Mary baby baby welcome to come on the mario man uh I can't wait until next week when we hear back from Ryan and we get to 50 reviews next week I mean even the review yet and you're still listening come on next time Paul you could make a difference right now we're asking one for one for one reviewer all right let's get to the the way what it's worth talking about one of these two episodes made us go uh chat larlay says uh that Chris talks to them once a week but this to me seems like retroactive writing because they don't mention him enough he's never heard the mention of Dean with whom she's been together now for several weeks he was completely surprised that they talk once a week no way he would have come up that was a bit of a weight walk from me like they did it after the fact that we want to now have Christopher was about it was a bad bad bad they're trying to retcon some things there that did not quite pass muster I would agree yeah maybe once a month would have
worked better there and still had him involved with the family uh and 14 larlay causes Luke oh calls Luke and says and he'd help finding the missing chick clearly her tone her voice her pace and the Luke goes so who's this come on dude come on bro and a minute later gets there and they're looking for a chick he hears a chick squeak and he goes when what was that yeah I'll look so yeah nobody accused of the finals in some way you know what I mean yeah maybe the finals too tight the last thing in my weight what larlay finishes painting the diner entirely in green but meanwhile all over her face and clothing are white marks uh primer is primer come on man you never paint it in your life how do we floppy early that's right later she got together yeah yeah for sure for sure you've painted that paint that entire place and overnight yeah by yourself we're fine yes nothing damn um I just got to be honest with you you lost me at something cold lime fantasy supreme already like yeah out of the gate just with the name lime fantasy supreme I'm out on that
dessert but then we see it and it's lies just lime jello and with whipped cream trifle basically roaring yeah you did so good yeah oh my gosh I'm out on this I you know what bless her heart she tried so great and she made most things with the box yeah yeah can we get a workshop the dessert a little bit because he's going back for seconds of the match potato so she says hold on you're gonna want to save room no I'm not I'm not gonna want to save room for the lime it looks like the entities uh dessert from christmas vacation oh yeah I'm out of here um Christopher at one point talking about you know how he's really turning things around the businesses working out he says I think I finally got my ducks lined up in a row which he takes like this you know like I got my ducks in a row and he says I'm gonna I'm gonna make sure you know what I mean they're lined up in a row they're not just in a row I've got them lined up in a row shout out
Christopher the early bird wakes up early to catch the warmth that's exactly right you know the old only don't think Chris and then I at the end you know she she's painted once again by ourselves in one night whatever it's fine um she says can I recommend curtains and he says absolutely no curtains and then the cameras panning out and you know what is covering half of the window a curtain curtains there's curtains he's again anti-curtain well maybe it's because he's already got the perfect curtain he's right he doesn't need anywhere as a perfect one curtain sorry does he say something like what about manly curtains yeah because he says they're not manly and I'm like you have curtains up and why are they not yes he's got curtains up and they seem fine that's right yeah they were it was just tough with the with the pan out where there are already curtains yeah yeah yeah stings a little uh denim yeah so this town council is unlike any town
council in the world and I think that's part of the charm of stores hollow I'm not there there's not a way what there but two of them have a bet over if Luke will ever paint the diner and they show up and one of them pays the other even though it has not been painted yet and I'm here to tell you that's not how those people would act if I bet you something I will pay up if and when it happens he pays up just at the mere suggestion that Luke's okay with painting and that's just not how the those people would not be like they would be like uh show me when it's painted that's what they be like and they're not like that a dean goes over to pizza night eats a salad dean how dare you and second of all that salad I'm not mad about a salad I like a good salad that salad is just lettuce there's a tomato wedge there is just lettuce it's just iceberg lettuce there's not dressing there's nothing else on it it is a plate of dry lettuce that you're eating please stop it uh Rory when she decides to do the whole thing for dean she likes no less than 25 candles and knowing how
there usually is some physical comedy in the Gilmore girls I was just worried that the bed's house was going to burn down um there's a cat in the house there's a cat in the house that jumps on furniture the door to get in and out of their house has has a is maybe five feet tall and has something at the bottom of it you have to step over to get in it's like getting in the shire in Lord of the Rings I don't like I don't want any part of that as a six five that that can do around yeah my biggest problem with these two episodes is in episode 13 sookie and jackson go on one date it's weird and only ends kind of okay and in starting in episode 14 they are fully dating and have been dating a long time and that is an an oversight of epic proportions for two characters that I like and want to see more of for us to get to have to skip all of them actually like falling in love with each other through actual formal dating we would would like to see that uh they film a softball game at the beginning of episode 15 that I can only describe as not a softball game uh they are filming clearly in the rain
it's unfortunate the bleachers are soaking wet it's raining behind them there's two people out on the field Luke and Dean you can tell they're miserable out there I feel bad for them and then also if the even if the skies are clear and the sun's out what is this softball game is this an organized thing where adults and children gathered together on sari morning for a very competitive softball game amidst two teams that aren't good is that the way I understand that like sometimes a soggy softball it's a thing it's yeah I got to google it that's my problem I got to do it I I can't decide if it's something that I think Luke would actually be a part of because Luke is like grumpy you know go you know goes to the town hall meetings but only because you know he he wants to you know if there's actual town stuff going on thinks that the reenactment is done but also shows up early Saturday morning for softball
like I don't know if that's a loot a thing that Luke would actually do I haven't decided yet even though he wears it backward tat always really really ready he's always ready catchable yeah yeah that's all I got okay it's time for the written in the stars hollow it's where we discuss different stuff then we have early year yeah Chad what do you see written in the stars hollow I have two big questions here so given Christopher and Laura lie given their history together and their fertility together did she get pregnant from their balcony trist yeah he uh brands like the one that happened in this episode yeah it's a good question I know from the original one she did because Rory right that's where they consummated that's uh consummated is how we're saying that word today what in the world did we decide consummated words don't man I'm comfortable talking words don't mature anymore that's right no one's more comfortable talking about this type of stuff
no one's more comfortable I think is what you mean 100 percent 100 percent I want to know how they consummated I don't don't stately what's her name Donna read so anyway did it happen she did did she get pregnant on the balcony I've seen them live I also will say I would I would like to believe that those two characters of any are like well-versed in contraceptives you'd let's just say that because she was supposed to be using latex paint let's talk like they're just now consummating this thing you know what I mean brand you don't need this you go in the christmas cussage and get respect here just like you know yeah respect I get it it's crisp yeah respect yeah so I have another one they were talking about code words so Laura lie says oh with you sookie saying if you ask someone to come over and help find a chick that means something else right or I'm saying help me find a bat in the attic it means maybe
they want to hook up it's a code word so I'm curious because you guys keep asking me to come to Greenville South Carolina to quote record a podcast okay I'm just saying it struck me you know it's the code I don't know so I mean not not that I'm aware of yeah Chad we want to orgy brother get crazy last time you came to town brain brain couldn't even be bothered to go out to eat with us sure so I mean you know I was out I was out I was out on yeah he walked in sat down to the tree court and get out of here that's it you have to deal with Brian instead it was crazy yeah right yeah didn't expect that you know I don't give the 50 ratings everybody I don't you know I don't need that sort of promise yeah right and right yes right child right right shout out yes yeah listen I I as bad as Emily and Richard are like this was crazy crazy Christopher's parents to agree to come and then to do like how it like we know a bit about how
uh lower lies relationship is with her parents I'm like what's going on between Christopher and his parents like nothing what like what is what are we getting that's is there a spinoff coming where it's the where it's Christopher and his parents he's got to go ahead and boys yeah he's got to go to them uh weekly dinners so that his dad will continue to fund his uh is a lucrative career that's happening at California like there's like obviously both of their parents have have serious issues with their with their kids um that was wild and I do want it like how has his relationship been like with his parents over the past 16 years because clearly he's kind of like they portray him as being this guy who you know tries this doesn't work out go go surfing you know does this stuff and so like what's his deal does he have a relationship with his parents or is this like kind of the first
time they've really had a conversation a while I didn't get a good uh I don't I don't know they're worse than worse than Richard and Emily by far there's two parents I don't think that's possible I do think that they're bad parents but I think all four of those parents you know I tell my kids when somebody says something mean to you it says more about them than it says about you and I think all four of these parents are you know very much telling you who they are and how they're not happy with how their lives turned out by how they treat their kids and they're all four in the same boat to me but we don't get we only get you know Richard and Emily so there's that yeah Dan I'm gonna tell my kids that what do I say so is someone says something I'm just writing this down if someone to me like say like somebody bullies you or is mean to you yeah like if you them they're usually they're insecure right out there what's going on in their life so if you like mispronounce a word and then like yeah like it doesn't bother for instance that would say more about me and how uncomfortable I am being around my friend brand on that's exactly what about Brandon's ability because I know that you know five bodies that fasts more about them and you're
need boards so we're not just we're not just friends we're not just people who are not nervous that you're new boards this makes right right the right you never treat right cook like this you're not running right you got right okay order is cheeseless pizza you never gave him a hard time it was for papa cookie anything else you good I will say I'm fascinated to see how what they do with the the character of Christopher as we move forward I would assume he's an occasional character I think they did a beautiful job of setting up a character that could easily have this traced with Laura lie but also never be a threat to be a serious possibility for down the line I know that was excellent work that could have gone south so many different ways and instead they did a great job of it so I'm fascinated to see how much more we see of him moving forward and I honestly don't have the slightest clue if we see him once more or never or occasionally my guess would be 153 episodes he's going to show up a few more times but I don't know who's in it who's
in it more you think Christopher or Max Mendez if I had to put all my chips in the middle of the table I'd say Christopher's in it more but I don't know yeah he's connected with worry no matter what Max Dina can be coming out the infembles needs yes all right well we're going to be back next week maybe all together maybe with 50 reviews maybe with Ryan cook you never know you don't know we don't know you never know it's going to happen on the go Gilmore the Mario podcast so come come back next week it's going to be a lot of fun until then Gilmore Gilmore the Marriors of ramble jam podcast produced by brain and gray and yeah that greenville South Carolina for more and for Matty on on the show you can go to the socials at Gilmore the Marriors pod you can get this episode in every episode comersial free at ramblejambus.com I don't even know what you're talking anymore stupid show I hate this you're about to hear some ads that help keep the lights on here in the old studio thanks for listening
