A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada — God Knows What We Can Handle. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
Hi, I'm Johnny Erson Tata. Have you ever looked at someone going through a really tough time and thought, boy, I'm glad that's not me. I could never handle that situation. Well, I'll tell you someone else who thinks that. My friend Charlene. Some time ago, she was in the hospital having temporarily lost control of her muscles. Like me, she had to be fed, she wore catheter, others had to bathe her. After she got out of the hospital, Charlene told me, Johnny, I don't know how you do it. I just couldn't live like you. But I had to laugh because Charlene is blind and deaf. I could never live like that. Oh, friend, aren't you glad that God is the one who knows what Charlene and I and you can only bear with his grace? And he'll help us handle whatever situation we find ourselves in. It's why Romans chapter 11 says, Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and the knowledge of our God.
