Psalm 68:4-10
4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.
5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:
8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
10 Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.

Sunday, April 26, 2026, God our Father, by Quenny Joyce Ibera, Mizami Occidental Philippines, Read Psalm 68, 4-10. A Father to the Fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling. My father and mother separated when I was eight years old. My mom raised me and my brother, but we had very few childhood memories of our dad. The steady father figure in our lives was our grandpa, whom we called Daddy. Daddy loved Jesus and his life exemplified his faith. He was our go-to person for wise advice. We enjoyed listening to his personal anecdotes and his fatherly presence
with the source of comfort and confidence for me. When Daddy passed away, I was overcome with grief and an intense feeling of being fatherless. Although I was comforted knowing that he was with Jesus, I couldn't help but feel weighed down by the pain and heartache of losing a loved one. In a quiet moment with the Lord, I remembered the phrase, a Father to the Fatherless in the Bible. I felt God assuring me that although I had lost an earthly Father, for a second time, God is my Heavenly Father. I'm grateful to God for my grandpa's presence in my life. Even though losing Him has been painful, it is also an opportunity to find comfort in my Heavenly Father, who is always present and faithful to me. Dear God, help us to know and feel that you are near to us. May we know you as our ever-present Father, whom we can turn to and confide in.
