SIPS Episode – Today's show is all about bonded whiskey. What do we mean when we say a whiskey is bottled in bond? Well back before the turn of 20th century, when a consumer bought whiskey, they had no way of knowing what that whiskey might contain as the industry was largely unregulated.
Today we have 6 different Bonded Bourbons to taste from 4 different Distilleries. From Heaven Hill, we have Heaven Hill White Label 6yr BIB, Evan Williams White Label BIB, and Henry McKenna 10 yr Single Barrel BIB. From Brown Foreman, we have Old Forester 1897 BIB. From Jim Beam we have Old Tub BIB (a brand only available at the Jim Beam Gift Shop). And from Buffalo Trace we have Co. E.H. Taylor Small Batch BIB.
