Today, at Mobile World Conference, Motorola just made a huge announcement.
Motorola will be partnering with the Grafino S Foundation to bring their privacy and security-focused
Android distribution to future Motorola phones with Grafino S compatibility in mind.
According to Motorola's press release, Motorola and the Grafino S Foundation will work to
strengthen smartphone security and collaborate on future devices engineered with Grafino S compatibility.
By combining Grafino S's pioneering engineering with Motorola's decades of security expertise,
real-world user insights and Lenovo's ThinkShield solutions, the collaboration will advance a
new generation of privacy and security technologies. In the coming months, Motorola and the Grafino S
Foundation will continue to collaborate on joint research software enhancements and new security
capabilities with more details and solutions to roll out as the partnership evolves.
What the combination of Grafino S and Lenovo ThinkShield actually entails hasn't yet been
established, including whether Motorola's enterprise features will be included out of the box.
A Grafino S spokesperson was quoted in Motorola's announcement, saying,
we are thrilled to be partnering with Motorola to bring Grafino S's industry-leading
privacy and security-focused mobile operating system to their next-generation smartphone.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in expanding the reach of Grafino S,
and we applaud Motorola for taking this meaningful step towards advancing mobile security.
It's unclear what Grafino S features Motorola might bring over to their standard phones if any
or what hardware for the future device will look like. Grafino S has previously stated that
none of Motorola's existing phones meet their stringent hardware requirements.
