Matter of fact, I don't think I've ever had a job where I only worked five days a week, so there. Okay. Pardon? You're taking Monday off, right? I am taking Monday off. Why don't you take Saturday off? Because what happened was last Saturday we had a glitch with the computer and the internet, so I couldn't do the show. I tried doing it and it just didn't work. So I had, it was a recording last Saturday, so I don't want it to happen again. I try to do fresh shows all the time, even when I take off. And it's, so for those of you that think when I'm off, that I'm just off, actually I'm not off. I'm not on even though I am off because I do a show that you haven't heard the phone calls

7:20It's so real. I know that I'm ever holding back. All right. That's enough. This is for 14 year old girls or, yeah, pretty much. Yeah. Yeah. We know like 14. They've outgrown it. I'm in the shops. I ain't got to think, Amy and Will of our crew like that music. Well, good for you. Hey, I'll bet you I could, uh, I could ask Anne to see if they shouldn't get you a ticket to a CBT S and then you can do a full review. Amy. Yeah. Absolutely. Oh, fantastic. Yeah. That's great. It's fun music. You think I'll get you know what? I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I like kids. You think I'll get you know what? I, I, I, I, I, I, I like kids go around. I, I like kids, uh, the radio and I like bubble gum music and I like all of that. And when I want to, uh, regress into my early childhood, during one of my sessions with the shrink, okay. Could you imagine Amy in a room full of 14 year old should be four feet taller? Uh, that's absolutely true. That's absolutely true.

8:20Korean, uh, no, it wouldn't be just be Korean. Yeah, it was. It wouldn't. I tell you one thing, you wouldn't see anything on a leash in that room at all. You might see leashes, but, uh, don't give me that look, Amy. It's so me. It's I'm giving you the look. Oh, she's also giving me the, yeah, we're both giving you the look. And Will is shaking his head. I think we're all giving you the look. Oh, it could be. It's a consensus look. It's a revolt. Mute me. Okay. We've got a lot to cover today, uh, because there's a lot going on. So, uh, let's start, uh, with, uh, the first story of handle on the news with Amy, uh, Neil and me lead story. Oh, yeah, it's a weird one going out in, uh, the Lindsey Clancy murder trial and the jury is still deadlocked. The defense brought up, uh, the fact that the deadlock is not because there was anything. Well, the defense said there's something dreadfully wrong in that one juror did not listen to the instructions. And here is the fine line that has to be played, played here.

9:23If a juror doesn't believe, uh, let's say, uh, jurors holding her off for insanity plea and the other 11 jurors that are not buying it, it has to be a unanimous worry. And if you can't get a unanimous verdict, uh, then it's a mistrial. That's it. It's a deadlock. Uh, everybody walks away and the prosecution has to retry it again. And so, uh, so now no one wants that. And so, uh, what's happening is the accusation is this one juror is not paying attention, which can, the juror can be thrown out for that reason. However, if the juror just says, uh, no, I'm paying attention. I just don't believe it. I just think the other way, the judge can't deal with that. Also, there is a rule that says, uh, you can only go twice, uh, tell, the judge telling the jury after it says it's deadlock, only twice can the judge say, uh, you go back and deliberate. He said it for the third time. Why? How? Because there was an instruction. There was a request from the lead juror about reasonable doubt and that kicks it all off

10:27again. A request for information goes back to a square one. I'm going to talk more about that coming up at seven o'clock. There are no, uh, I'm sorry, seven, twenty tons of issues with this one. I mean, it has the legal people just spinning on this and, uh, and we'll see where they try her again. Hell yes, they would try her again. This prosecution just walks away, especially if it's, uh, if it's eleven one, for example, for a plea for insanity, uh, the prosecution may not try it quite often. They look at the number of jurors in which way they were going because you can pull the jury afterwards and find out exactly how many jurors went one way or the other. Okay. Moving on. A miracle in the mud rescuers in Nepal have pulled two workers alive from a tunnel. It's a hydropower tunnel during an ongoing operation to rescue the people. They're still like five thousand people missing. The guys pulled out covered in mud, a mechanical form and a mechanical supervisor.

11:28The rescue comes nine days after the massive flash flooding devastated towns and valleys in Nepal rescuers, uh, believe people may still be alive. One of the people rescued rescued says there are people still alive down in that tunnel. And Neil, you've been in Nepal. Yes, I loved it. Yeah, I have not gotten any of the tunnels. I know I understand that. Do you even know there were tunnels under those hydroelectric plants? Did you ever go to a hydroelectric plant? Now, and there's a lot of rivers. I mean, it's, uh, electricity there is for the main part hydroelectric. And that's been wiped out too. So you're talking about a country that's not going to merely have to return it to, uh, the way it was previously to the floods, but it's going to take years to rebuild the grid. All right. Let's do one more and then take a break. What's in the name? What is war? Well, apparently war is not, you know, bombs being exchanged and stuff. Vice President JD Vance said yesterday that he wouldn't use the word war to describe the US

12:34fighting with Iran. He kind of steered clear of predicting that the six month old conflict would be over by November, which is of course midterm elections. Republicans obviously trying to swim upstream with that hang on to the narrow majority there in Congress. But he said over and over, he wouldn't call it war. Even though, uh, and even went on to say right now there is no active shooting, but this comes after Vance, you know, or he asserts this after there was firing in the US. Do you find it ironic when he said there is no active shooting and the missiles were flying at that moment? Yeah, it comes a little close to us, uh, yeah. And then the entire issue of a wait a second was going to be four to six weeks. We're now into one seven. Uh, there is, we're going to be there. We're here going. There's no firing right now. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And that would be wrong. Bartiromo gets the boot. Fox News media has abruptly ousted one of its most well known hosts and anchors.

13:39Uh, they put out a statement saying effective today, which was yesterday, Maria, Bartiromo no longer with Fox News media. They thanked her for her 12 years of service. Uh, Bartiromo, Bartiromo has been off the air since early August with no reason given for her departure. Yeah, it's not even, uh, we, by mutual consent, which of course means you're fired. Uh, and, uh, it, she didn't resign. Uh, she wasn't fired. Uh, it was, uh, we've parted company. It's not even we parted company. Hey, she doesn't work here anymore. Thank you. Past the piece. Uh, there it is. And I don't know why. I mean, does anybody know why? I mean, the scale, uh, this woman was vociferous defender of Donald Trump. Matter of fact, she was in the middle of those lawsuits, uh, one by dominion, which, uh, Fox settled for three quarters of a billion dollars based on the allegations of, um, voter fraud. And then the smart, uh, Maddie, uh, that lawsuit still is in the air. So have no idea why she was canned.

14:40So CNN was talking about it this morning and they were saying that there may have been because she had put out some posts or sent something to the White House saying, I want to cover these stories, but the big waves won't let me. And basically they said that she violated company policy or something to that effect. Okay. And she is a, she is a strong supporter of the president. Yes. And so you would think that Fox would keep her on, uh, because I'm assuming being a strong supporter in Fox viewers, she was very popular. And I don't know, uh, how popular she was as an anchor, no idea. How long before she becomes a cabinet, Maddie? Uh, oh, yesterday. Well, there was speculation that they said, oh, maybe she's going to be the next press secretary. But then I think, yeah, press conference or the press briefing, JD Vance had asked not happening. Is she blind? No, no chance. She has some blonde streaks, I believe. Oh, yeah, those are gray. No, they're not. Oh, okay. No, no Fox news. Nobody is.

15:40Yeah. I'm sorry. I'm talking about gray and his hair, Neil. Hey, before we, uh, get to this next story about mortgages, this just in from talkbacks. This is from Steve Ann. He says, I've got a little feedback for Ann. She is a hottie with a naughty body back to you in the studio. Oh, snap. Wow. Now what's interesting is Ann wrote that herself. No, I did not. Yeah, let me have it. Let me have it. Okay, moving on. Got an email. Okay, you've got it. Okay. Okay. Hotty. You got it. naughty body. Yeah. Margage rates, the global sell off in the bond market is hitting the housing market with US mortgage rates surging to their highest level of the year. So new pressure on home shoppers and home owners as it marches closer to 7%, which is still probably 50% less than our parents have. And this makes so much sense for the economy because interest rates are as high as they

16:42are. Certainly inflation is moving a hop up cost of gas and oil through the roof. Well, relatively speaking, fertilizer, things not going through the, the, the straight. And that means there'll be another thousand points up with the stock market today. Splend all of that to me. And I pay attention to this stuff and I just don't get it. Well, I mean, the argument is AI is moving this whole thing forward and the insane investment AI. Okay. Take a break. Uh, taking it all the way to the top, the Justice Department has asked the Supreme Court to intervene in an ongoing legal battle over the postal service rules for mail ballots, just weeks before the November midterms and very, very close to when ballots are being mailed out in an emergency appeal to the high court. A solicitor general D John Sauer requested the justice is halt a district court's temporary order that blocks enforcement of the postal service requirements.

17:43Yeah. Couple of things. First, I think one or two states have already sent out mail in ballots. That's for starters. Also if the justice is due grant the, the DOJ motion that says the post office feds can control how mail order, how mail in ballots are run, then you got mail in ballots have already been released. And here's how we can control it. That's all new ground. No one has any idea how that's going to go. And the president keeps on saying, uh, we're not getting in the way of mail in ballot. We're not getting in the way of balloting just through the US post office. That's how we control it and that's legal, which I think is unconstitutional. Either the states do have the power or don't have the power to control elections. And Trump is saying effectively he has the power, not withstanding with the constitution says because the pet, the postal service is a federal agency under his purview. And therefore he can change the rules based on the mailing, uh, the oversight of the US

18:47post office. So, uh, that one, uh, it's a little complicated, but I think that works. Does that work, by the way? Sort of. Oh, okay. I try to unlong stuff and I, and usually it sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, which happens on a regular basis. Uh, this is a rough story and I know exactly where it is. There, uh, one person was killed and multiple others injured. After apparently an elderly driver crashed, uh, her car into a security stand right there in the parking lot of the trader Joe's at the Beverly Grove area of Los Angeles. So this happened yesterday afternoon, about 120 p.m. Third street, uh, and Fairfax. Uh, we all know that area because that's where the farmers market and everything is over on that side. So this would be Cady Corner or right. I have a question. And, uh, that is, uh, how do you, uh, drive fast enough in a trader Joe's parking lot to

19:51hit anybody and do damage? Maybe that's too soon. We asking that question because we died. Right. This. Yeah. Been in a trader Joe's. Yeah. You can't get in or out of it. Everybody goes it a half a mile per hour. So, uh, just saying this was a security kiosk, which I've never seen either, uh, because maybe it's the area. Yeah, a little bit, but trader Joe's today, by the way, uh, making trader Joe's day night, huh? Yeah. Yeah. It's my day today. Costco, Costco yesterday, uh, trader Joe's today. He's going to go and get some sun on her naughty body. Okay. He'll be doing today. All right. Moving on. Look at her face. She loves that. That makes me so happy. Thank you. Not the first time she's heard it. Well, because Bill's always drooling all over Amy. I do not literally. It's what I, I, I resent that I drool all over everybody.

20:53As a matter of fact, I drool when nobody's there. There's that. I just drool. So don't accuse me of drooling all over Amy. Gross. Okay. If you have a license, listen up. FBI says it's investigating a report that tens of millions of driver licenses for people in the US and Canada are being sold on the dark web. Uh, guy says that he found a dark website selling digital scans of millions of driver licenses from people from both the US and Canada. The breach if confirmed could be one of the largest ever exposures of government issued identity documents in North America and could up the risk of identity theft and fraud for tens of millions of people. Yeah. That's a little frightening, isn't it? Yep. Hey, how do you, when a government, when the government issues driver's license or ID, uh, how do they know it's you when it's a picture of Donald Trump on the card? Could you imagine everyone? No matter who they are, gets a picture of Donald Trump on there.

21:56So you know, it's wow. Yeah. I have to go there. Uh, so the Wheel of Fortune announcer Tim Thornton, we heard a lot about this yesterday, was questioned by cops for Jim. Sorry, uh, Jim Thornton was questioned by cops. And apparently the attorney for Jim Thornton claims that the Wheel of Fortune announcer accidentally visited this pedophilia support site while on an airplane, which I know we're probably all gonna raise our eyebrows. Interestingly enough, I guess Jim Thornton is very active in suicide prevention advocacy since losing a close family member to suicide a couple years ago. And he visits these chat rooms, offering support to individuals suffering from suicidal ideation. One of the sites is 988 lifeline.org. And that's the chat.

22:59And it's a suicide prevention space. Well, his, the, the attorney is now saying for Jim Thornton that his client was misdirected to a forum with similar URL, the forum lifeline.chat, which is slightly different. It is a website to help those, uh, or offer mental help support to individuals with, uh, pedophilic thoughts. Yeah. Now, here's the story, which I, uh, that I think is overblown. Uh, because if it was a one time visit and it's close enough to what he, where you would normally go, uh, and he said this was a mistake and everything points out to that mistake. And they question him, okay, what's this about? And he says, well, this is what happened conversation over. And now this becomes a huge story about him somehow being connected to pedophilia. Well, that's the thing is it seems that the cops question him and let him go.

24:03Right. Right. And there's nothing else. I know that we know of and here we are. It's the story. And in the meantime, while the Wheel of Fortune is investigating, uh, they're actively recasting. Yeah. It's because of the accusation because he went on a website that looked exactly like another website easily confused. And uh, you seem to be defending this pretty hard. Everything. Oh, yeah. I'm, you stay here with me. You're defending pedophilia now. Thank you. Uh, not sure why things went south here. We told you about that shooting at an apartment complex in downtown Minneapolis. Police are now saying that it was a custody exchange or it happened during an custody exchange. The shooter died in an exchange of gunfire with Minneapolis police officers. Two people were killed. A 63 and a 61 year old. They lived in the apartment complex. The mother in the custody exchange was shot in the leg.

25:07The child was able to get away. Investigators say that after the guy shot the mom, he went into the apartment, shot two building employees, including one at close range. That person survived. Then he went up to the building's ninth floor where his apartment was killed two residents there. And then the police came in and got involved. They still don't know what kind of initiated the original shooting. Another route for shootings. Yeah, last couple of days, been a lot of these. Or we're just covering more of them. You know, I've asked you many times, Amy, is there an increase in this sort of thing? Or is the coverage just more? And we don't know. Or I don't know. But I mean, it does seem and this one is, you know, it involved a kid. Yeah. I'm interested in it involved the mom and the mom is okay. The kids okay. The guy's dead. That's more newsworthy, you know, as opposed to just a normal killing. I get that as normal killing. Notice I use that word normal killing and unfortunately, that works. Unfortunately, that's appropriate.

26:07Those domestic stuff. That's why cops are scared to death of that. All right. I saw this video and at first I thought it was AI or something because it was just silly looking. But there's this aggressive mystery animal in 2026 that's on the loose in New Hampshire. So it's gone after multiple people. The video I saw was a woman. I think she was standing by a truck and it kind of darted under the truck and then grabbed her ankle. She starts kicking it. You can't really tell what it is, but it's fast. So the Lebanon Police Department said that it's still insure exactly what the animal is. But it has reportedly displayed unusually aggressive behavior towards people. At least three unprovoked tax have been reported since August 30th. Yeah, but someone as the animal let go and ran into the bushes, you could hear someone going, Kujo, come here. No, no, it's Kujo.

27:07Someone did refer to it as Kono. Well, it better. It looks like a ferret. Well, ferrets can do ferrets can do some damage. Oh, well, the what? Wow, she kind of kicks it. Doesn't she? Yeah, she has to. She's got a big fluffy tail. Who doesn't? We hear that at least one listener thinks Anne does. Yeah, well, there you are. Well, they're not detail. They're all what the hell with their not detail and a naughty body. Okay. Coast Guard to the rescue. US Coast Guard has rescued 37 suspected illegal immigrants who are floating a drift in the water without food or water near Oxnard. They got a distress call from a pleasure craft 88 miles off Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard and they went to check it out. They found them drifting without fuel, food or water. They'd been just kind of floating around for at least two days.

28:08They didn't have enough personal safety equipment. They found them about five hours after they got the call at 830 at night and the Coast Guard was able to successfully rescue all 37. And they'll be deported instantly upon hitting shore, which because they are well, are they illegal? They might not be because there are plenty of tourists that set 88 miles off shore and a boat with no food, no water and floating around. Yeah. All right. Give me a time for one more. I'm not getting on anybody's pleasure craft. All right. All right. Hey, when it come on my pleasure craft. All right. Nearly 6,000 homeless people could be forced to move because you're going to have security officials imposing these massive security parameters, parameters rather in advance of the 2028 summer Olympics in LA here. So they're doing an estimation of all this, but there's going to be some displacement. Yeah.

29:09Well, they go there all over the place. Where are they going to go? And that's the point. History, a little bit of a little factoid of history, 1936 Berlin Olympics. Where the Nazis stop dealing with Jews for two weeks, Jews were fine. They were happy. They were contented. They weren't moved around. And then as soon as the Olympics were over, boom, they were the Nazis went back to how they were treating them in order to quickly Jews. And here it is homeless people. How we deal with homeless people, we're going to move them someplace. And then I'm not sure that it's exactly the same. I don't know what I'm saying is the guy. It's no, it's not, but the point I'm making, you know, I think you raised a good point. The point I'm making is hiding people during the Olympics, hiding that segment of society. You do not want visitors and athletes and the media to see. Okay. Technically in Germany, it was the reverse. We had to go back into hiding after the Olympics.

30:11Oh no, no, no, no, it's, they weren't hiding anyway. There was no place to hide actually at that point, not in 1936. Anyway, we could, I could spend an hour and a half on that one and I will not. But I will spend some time talking about Karen Bass testifying before Congress on the homeless issue. And particularly the LA housing, a so CLA housing authority, oh man, big problems. And I'm going to share a moment talking about that. This is KFI AM640.
