Early on, Katherine knew something was missing from her day-to-day routine of being a disabled single mom of children impacted with mental illness. But she couldn't put her finger on what was missing. She was too tired, and life was hard. Instead, Katherine maintained an outwardly sunny disposition because she feared that if she let that smile crack, she would lose it. But the kids grew up and moved out, giving Katherine time to reflect on her experience raising children with mental health issues. Only then could she identify what was missing all those years. How could she not see it sooner?

Katherine never practiced self-care. With all the activity and craziness, Katherine never took time to care for herself. To replenish her tank. It took her twenty years to realize how much her journey could have been improved had she taken care of herself, even in small ways like having a beautiful bar of soap to use or a face mask to apply to rejuvenate her spirits. That is when it dawned on Katherine that she was the perfect person to create these products for other stressed-out women. Women on the Verge.
