Jay Zawaski and Mario Tirabassi discuss whether Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno may have played his last game with the Chicago Blackhawks as the NHL trade deadline approaches. With Kyle Davidson already making multiple moves this week, could Foligno be the next veteran to be dealt, or are the Blackhawks done making trades? The guys also break down what other potential moves Chicago could make before the 2 PM CT Friday trade deadline, and what it would mean for the team moving forward. Plus, hear from Connor Bedard, Alex Vlasic, and Foligno himself as they speak with the media at Blackhawks practice today.

So some people in the chat noticed that the thumbnail for the show changed and the description
of the show changed.
And they're probably wondering why?
Well, within the last few minutes and within the last couple of hours, we all, we meaning
Mario and I and Chloe based on some context clues we picked up today from some stuff we've
heard over the last few weeks and from a recent tweet by Frank Saravali, I think there's
a pretty high likelihood that Nick Fellino is dealt by 2 p.m. tomorrow.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, if anything is possible at trade deadline time, he is on an expiring contract.
He's at the end of his career or close to the end of his career.
And he's a guy that is highly competitive and we'll play his media availability today
and he kind of talks about where he's at currently and how he feels and he talked about
like having difficult honest conversations with Kyle Davidson, how he is competitive and
wants to be playing games that matter, how the competitive games at the end of the season
and there's been a lot of smoke, mainly from Aaron Portsline about Fellino and a reunion
with the Columbus Blue Jackets since before the Olympic break.
Yeah, that was, yeah, that was, you know, rush tag March 6.
That was early in February.
Yeah, so as it stands right now, 3 o 3 p.m. on Thursday, 23 hours away from the deadline,
Nick Fellino is still a Black Hawk, but I think a lot of, a lot of signs and gears feel
to be in motion that that could be changing pretty quickly.
So we can take it, we're going to hear from Nick Fellino here in a second, but we can
take you behind the curtain a little bit.
As everyone knows, who's followed us for a few years, Nick was a part of our show for
a whole season.
And then when he was named Captain, he wanted to step away from doing more individually focused
stuff and be more of a team captain, not put the spotlight on himself, which is very
on brand for him.
So today, at the end of practice, he had just spoken to the media.
We were sort of wrapping things up and I watched off to him and said, hey, man, you know, just
in case, like really appreciate what you did for us, you really helped us gain some legitimacy
early on.
Your impact was, you know, was still kind of felt around these parts, like it really
mattered us that you did that and he, you know, returned the kind words and everything.
And it just, in that moment, felt like the last time I'd get to talk to him.
I don't know.
It was just a gut feeling, you know, and I saw Charlie say, goodbye.
I don't know.
You walked up to him too.
And, you know, just in case this kind of the, hey, you know, we might not get to chat
with you again.
So we wanted to thank you for everything.
So that's in the back of my mind.
The port line stuff's in the back of my mind.
241 PM today, Frank Servali sends this tweet.
Imagine Blackhawks Nick Felino is in a similar spot as Jeff Petri, who was just traded to the
wild today by the Panthers, both well-respected veterans who want to compete.
Felino is open to moving for the right fit.
And like the Panthers, Chicago will do right by their captain to try and make it happen.
So that last sentence, Chicago will do right by their captain to try and make it happen.
Sounds to me, like Nick said, hey, if there's an opportunity for me, and maybe this,
or this place, I'm open to it, and I would like to give it a shot.
Yeah, I think, you know, you look at, you know, how his career has gone and how he's been,
you know, captain of the Blue Jackets for a long time was kind of the, you know,
one of the faces of that organization for a while, the impact he had in that community.
And then, you know, he got an opportunity to go and play in Toronto, trying to, you know,
be on a contender, went to Boston and played on that team that won the President's trophy
and set the record for most points in a season and all that, and then lost in the first round.
And, you know, he talked to the guys with what chaos was that last year might have been,
or maybe two years ago, Taylor Hall was still around.
He talked in that interview about how much he really was pissed that that season ended that way.
And, you know, since he's been in Chicago, he's been, you know, the, a consummate professional,
he's gotten a contract extension, he was named captain, he's really been invested in the
community and the black ox, and he's been invested in his role, but as all of these guys
have that desire to play at the top of their, their games and play the most competitive hockey that
they can, this might be the end for him in the NHL. And I think if he's asking for a trade,
that indicates that this is a true. Yeah, that probably indicates that this is the last
go around that he's going to have, because otherwise he'd be a free agent this summer. And if he
was going to come back and play another year and maybe he says, okay, well, I've done the captain
thing in Chicago, I wrote it out to the end of the year. Now I want one more chance, one false.
He's ton of time, for sure. Yeah, he's, he's, he's put a lot in, you know, to, to the role that he
was asked to do. So yeah, I think if it came down to it, if he, if he approached Kyle and said like,
listen, like, I, I've done all I can here. And, you know, I'd liked, I'd like one chance,
it's clear that we're not going to make the playoffs. It's clear that, you know, you, your,
your vision is still going young and opening up opportunities for, for the new guys. I'm,
I'm willing to also raise my hand and open up an opportunity and, and try and go compete elsewhere.
And I think Felino is a guy that Kyle Davidson would absolutely be like, whatever you want to do,
we'll try it, we'll try our best to make it happen. So yeah, I mean, and, and Sarah Volley's kind of
alluding to maybe a connection with the Petri deal, which just happened a couple of minutes ago,
a conditional seventh for Petri, like if Felino is moved, now obviously they can't retain any
money. So you'd have to maybe get creative. Columbus might be a team that can just take him on
as is. Yeah, which would be interesting. But I think if you're moving Nick Felino, you're not,
you know, you're not holding out for something really good from him. They have a nine million
plus in cash space so they can take on Nick Felino usually. Yep. Yeah. So that might, I mean, you,
it might be future considerations just to, to, to get him to Columbus, because, um, you know,
and Phantilly. Sure. Um, but I just mean like, I just mean like, it's, it makes more serviceable
than a future considerations return. He is. Um, but I just, I just think that if that trade does
come down between now and Friday, I wouldn't expect it if it's, you know, to go to Columbus,
which is that really feel like the really only place that makes sense. I think so too. Um,
because he's probably going to want to go back to that community and that team is on the cusp of,
you know, being in the playoffs and they're a hot team right now. Yeah. So I wouldn't,
I wouldn't expect the return in a Felino deal to be anything big. So, oh, not at all. Yeah.
There are three points out of a wild card right now. Right. And they're like 13 and two. Yeah.
Eight one and one over their last 10. Yeah. Um, so yeah, I mean, I wouldn't expect the return
to be anything big. Um, so I think they, I think if both sides just want to make it happen as
like a feel good story, um, as a, as a move, that's like a, a good faith move. I wouldn't be
surprised if it happens. And, and that's changed from, you know, six hours ago this morning when I'm,
you know, on my work, uh, on my way to the practice rank and not really. Now, I still felt like
that's he's probably still going to be a hawk after the media availability after hearing him talk,
which will play, um, and then just, you know, kind of off the record, quote unquote, talking with him
once the cameras were put away. Uh, and then this ceremony thing, like it really just feels like
everything's kind of stacked up that like, I feel almost, I'm almost confident that he gets
traded. Yeah. It feels narrow. It does. Um, Cody, do we have time to, uh, play Nick first,
we go to the break zone first? We should probably go break zone first. Why don't we do the break
zone early? And then we'll play Nick Felino, uh, here coming up in a minute. If you've not hit the
like button, please do. Uh, we back in two short minutes with Nick Felino, uh, familiar today on

All right, we are back on CHGO Blackhawks. And let's let you hear from the Blackhawks captain
himself. Uh, Nick Flino met the gathered media today after Hawks practice at Blackhawks Ice Center.
He's moving to get a playoff shot that's still in there. Yeah.
So guys, it were good guys in here. Yeah, well debated.
No, I think that's exactly the word to use in this situation because, you know, for a guy like
Murphy, it has been a sweet because you love him and what he's meant to this organization and the
city and how he's come in and just been a, you know, real great ambassador for Blackhawks for
probably a tough time and tough transition. He's always kept his head up and led the right way.
And so to see him get an opportunity with a really good team is gratifying for us all.
And then you see what, you know, Jason Dickinson's meant to this group. And, you know,
that was a tough guy to lose just with the way he's connected with every guy and how much he
matters the way he led what the minutes that he ate that were hard minutes and not so fun times
here. You know, you're thrilled for a guy like him too that gets a chance to really slot into an
area that really makes a lot of sense and you look at it. And then Docker, the young player that
gets an opportunity to go to a really good team and find his game. And, you know, this is the,
this is the tough part of the season right when you get down to it where you're not in.
These are the emotions and feelings you have where you lose some really good people. And,
you don't want to be in this spot too many times. And I think that's probably the message that's
been heard the loudest the past few days here from the group. I think they're getting tired of
being in this spot. So hopefully it's a motivating factor for years to come.
Connor gets the A for the rest of the season and everything. And he fed a front row seat to kind of
watch him throw, you know, how it would have been like to just watch him continually grow into a
leadership role. And now it's a letter to boot. Yeah, I think I think you're just seeing the
maturation of a 20-year-old, twenty-two, a 21-year-old soon to be 21-year-old. And, you know,
the weight that he's carried already at the young age and how he seemed to have been able to handle
that. And especially this year, I think he's just really comfortable with who he is and what he
means this team on and off the ice. So I think it's a no-brainer and all our eyes for how he's
led us and what he does on the nightly basis and daily basis in here. So it's exciting for him to
get that opportunity. And, you know, it's going to be part of who he is. I mean, he's a leader of
this team. He's going to be a guy that this franchise stands on for a long time. So it's exciting
that his journey has started. You know, we need to see who else, you know, rises to the channel
of making the shape in here. Hopefully, myself, Murphy, Dickey, I've been screwed up too bad
and can make sure we hand it off for it. I walked up right there. Have you got any information on
your status? What are the things? Yeah, I mean, right now, obviously, nothing's changed.
Kyle and I have talked and, you know, we're going through that process. I'm as a right now,
Chicago Black Hawk. So I'm fully invested in what we're doing, but have obviously had that
honest conversation and we'll see where it goes. What is the emotions like that when you have those
conversations in the deadline still a day away? It's tough actually. Yeah, it's tough. You know,
I've made it no surprise how much I care about this group, and especially as a guy who's led
this group for a few years, it's, you know, you feel weird when you have those those hard conversations,
but, you know, it's the reality of where we're sitting, right? And, you know, when you have
expiring contracts or the age of matter, you know, there's there's there's always a personal
thing that you go through to or you want to still you can battle and win, and so that's the
that's the fight that you have, right? I believe in this group so much, and it's been an
absolutely honor to, you know, be the captain here. So I'm still fully committed to that until
told otherwise, but yeah, there's there's a competitor inside you too that wants to be playing
game full games. Is it tougher to deal with the deadline when you've got a game like five hours?
Yeah, I always thought that was stupid, um, personally. I just think it's such a distraction for
everybody because regardless you're watching it, no matter even if you're on the block or not,
and I just think it's a weird day, and I don't know why the league hasn't decided just to make it
a practice day for everybody. Um, I think it would help a lot of the teams travel, and so I think
it's a stupid thing that we play, and I don't even for fans or, or guys that make plans to have
family, and there's just so much that goes into that game, um, and I'm first seen certain things,
so yeah, I'd say it's a, it's a weird day. I mean, it's part of being a pro, um, but I,
I don't know why it has to be a game on that day, and you know, just make it a certain day every year
and go with it, you know. I still too early for me to reflect on that, honestly. Um,
I'm still going through it, right? So, um, you know, I think the, the one thing is just how much
I care about this group. I think that's something that's probably even surprised me a little bit in
the short time about how much I've enjoyed being a Chicago Black Hawk and, and, and being here with
this team and seeing the growth and, and the maturation of a lot of guys and, and, and where we're trying
to get to, and I think it's a lot of that gives, you know, give a lot of credit to the players that
are here, but also the coaching staff that stepped in this year and then done a hell of a job and
getting us going in the right direction. So, um, you know, it's, it'll, you know, it's something
that I'll look on and probably have a better answer for you later on, but right now I'm just
trying to worry about tomorrow's game. You kind of alluded to this earlier, but do you sense that
there's a frustration in being with positioning and where you guys are selling again? Yeah,
sort of welcoming people into the building. You are saying goodbye to friends years.
Big time. I think because it hits home especially with the guys that we lost this year, right?
Over not to be, you know, rude, but over the past few years, I think we were trying to
sort out who wants to be here, and now it's every guy that really does want to be here, make a
difference, but the, the reality is there's other teams that really want these players, you know, and
this is what happens when you're not putting a position that the organization has to make hard
decisions, and guys have to also make decisions for their careers, right? So it's the realization
that if you're winning, if you're in the dance, you're adding, you're excited. The emotions are high
because you're looking to add and strengthen your group, as opposed to losing so many good people
that, you know, you know, you know, matter and have mattered for a long time. So this is the,
that one year where I think it's a, it's a wake-up call to a lot of guys in here. I'll,
this, this has got to get turned around quick, and we got to be in a position at 10 points
next year, and, uh, and how much more fun and excited it really goes because of that.
Honestly, you've been losing a little bit of life, a lot of nice talent, you've been losing your
ship, but you've been just a life experience, you've grown ups with life experience. What does that mean
for a young team that, you know, you've been kind of on their own for this? Yeah, well, I would not take
any advice from anyone in here. I think I'm staying, I would say, uh, there's slim pickings of guys
I'm going to. No, it's, it's, uh, it's tough. Like, listen, these are two of my really good
friends, Docker, great kid, you know, got to know him really well, had him up in my house in the
summer. Like, these are guys you care a lot about, right? And, and this group cares a lot about,
not just myself, like, they've ingrained themselves and the guys that, you ask any player in here,
they look to every time they, you know, come into their excitement, see their face, it's
weird to have them not in this room myself and for, and then I've been doing this for 20 years. So
it's, uh, it's a tough feeling, you know, you, you, you miss, because especially the battles that
we've gone through the past couple of years, those guys were a big part of these are myself leaning
on a lot of those guys and especially guys in this room looking to them for answers, you know,
they've been like big brothers to those guys. So, um, it's, uh, it's, it's tough to see and, uh,
but it's, you know, it's, it's the reality. I think I, but I've had it in my career where you,
you wonder what's it going to be like to, to lose this guy and then you realize, well, there's more
that I can give, right? And I think that's the message that these guys have to understand is we
as a group have to understand that there's more of yourself to give. These guys were once in your
position and had to figure out how to be good pros, how to be the guys that people look to. So
that's the journey that these guys are going to go on now. Um, it should be exciting for them to know
that they're thought of in that regard and they're here to make the difference of being the team that
struggle back how to expect to be. All right, there he is. That is Nick Filino, uh, and some people in
the chat saying it sounds like a farewell interview. We don't know yet. Um, but it, it definitely feels
more like it could head that way. Um, then it did a few hours ago, four hours ago, five hours ago.
Yeah. So I don't know. It's, it's, I do believe that, you know, look, I think it was, um, Jason and
the chat said, I'm really concerned about how young this seems going to be down to stretch.
You know what, they're out of it. Um, you want to give as many guys a look as you can here.
Andrew Magiapani is going to get an opportunity here as a reclamation project. And let's
be honest, it worked with Jason Dickinson. It worked with William McKev, right?
Like those are two guys who Vancouver and it could not wait to move on from like we got to get,
we've got to give assets to get rid of these guys, right? We got to have Riley Stoeman. Right.
And it worked out because the opportunity fit better. Um, so I, I agree. I would like to,
I am a little concerned, uh, you know, that it's so young and you've got Tebo, you've got
Bertuzzi, you've got the Nato and McKev if, if, if Flino is moved, but none of those guys are really
and grizzly and grizzly, right? And none of those guys are really vocal leaders. Grizzly can be,
but I feel like he kind of feels, he feels like a bit of, uh, I'm going to say outsider,
but not like in a mean or a bad way, but just he's here and he came on a PTO. He wasn't drafted
here. He's no, he knows he's not here for a long time. Right. Yeah. So what he says, like,
probably doesn't carry as much as it was for some others. So it's going to be interesting,
down the stretch and look, get used to it because it's very likely the next season,
the Hawks are going to be super young. I would venture, I guess, that they're going to be
the youngest team in the league to begin next season. Outside of if they bring in any other
veterans, which I don't think a lot of science points to that being the case, I think it's going
to be a lot of the, the players that we've been talking about through the draft, internal guys,
um, you know, the, the additions to next year's roster that aren't, you know, currently here
right now, frontell, cancer of maybe boi there, um, Lardus, like, like those guys will be stepping
up and taking opportunities. Ethan Del Masha was still here. Kevin Kurchinsky, you'd imagine
comes back next year, like, like he's an RFA. There's no reason to get rid of him.
You know, if, if you don't trade him by tomorrow, there's no reason to just let him walk that,
that doesn't make any sense. Um, your defensive depth, like you still could, you, you still need
to use him, I think. Um, so yeah, it's just going to be a lot of, a lot of young players and,
you know, they can have, they can kind of get by with some of the veteran guys, um, being like,
guys that have been in the NHL, know the ropes can help some of the other young guys, um,
you know, get acclimated to the professional game, to the, to the NHL game.
Tyler Bertuzzi has been someone that a lot of the young players have mentioned, you know,
we might not see it in the media from, you know, outside perspective, um, but teammates love him
and, and I feel like, you know, he has a big impact in that room. Um, but as part of rebuilds,
those young players that cycle through, they start to become the players that have to kind of
shoulder the load. Yeah. So it's Alex Vlasik, who is now the longest 10-year Black Hawk. First
guy we talked to today, that was the first guy we went and talked to has less than two, has less than
300 games under his belt. And he's the guy that's been in Chicago, been with the organization,
the longest and has the most NHL experience combining those two things. Um,
so it's, you know, it, it's going to turn over. It's going to be Vlasik having to do that.
It's going to be a badard having to be, this is, you know, coming to the end of year three for
badard, you're getting to veteran status. Like even though years, you're, you'll be 21 at the
start of next season, you're going into your fourth NHL year. Like that's, you've kind of learned
those, those ropes to a degree. Um, it'll be your three of Frank Nays are next year. Um, you know,
these, these younger players will have had some experience and they will have to start taking over
the locker room even more. Um, and, you know, these guys are going to start looking around the room
and, you know, they can send in Murphy or gone. Okay. Like who's, who's, who's the leader?
I wonder who's, who's the guy that needs to step up? I think I'd start pointing the thumbs.
It frees some guys up though to take because I, we go back to the comment that Alex Vlasik said,
the first time we had him on forever ago, we're used to term walking on eggshells around
Taves and Cain. And I don't think he meant it in a way of like, if I don't, they're going to be
jerks and yell at me. I think it's just like those guys are there and they've accomplished,
they've accomplished. And I am still young and I'm going to stay here and I'm going to stay out
of their way and I'm going to let them lead. And I think that, yeah, you don't step on toes.
Yeah. And I think there's a, or Taves, or Taves. I think there's a lot of young people in the room
now that our leadership quality that have just deferred to Fleto and Dickinson and Murphy as they
should. They totally should do that. But I don't think now that they're gone, it's necessarily going
to be like, what do we do? How do we tie our shoes? Where's my milk? Like, you know, like,
these guys know how to like, that I think you're going to see guy. And look, we, we talked about
yesterday, everybody when he's city hockey ran the numbers about how well bedard plays with the
Anna sweater and as much as he downplays it and we'll hear from him later. And it's only actually
talks about it. There is a difference to him when he's wearing that. He might not notice it,
but we notice it. He plays a different kind of game. And Alex Vlasik was asked, hey, we'll hear
from him too. Is he going to wear? He doesn't know. Jeff Vlasik said they're in a process of
making that decision and who gets the A in Jason Dickinson's place. But there are guys in there
able to step into leadership roles. I think another guy who could be that we haven't really
talked about is why Kaiser. I think why Kaiser is really thoughtful, really well spoken,
understands the game. You have seen him take Ardom Levchov under his wing and kind of be the guy
who helps him through practices with the language barriers and things like that. Like Kaiser has
taken that role and embraced it. So there are guys on this team that can take on that role.
I think it's going to be bedard. I think it's going to be Vlasik and I think some other guys
are going to jump into it too. Yeah. Well, I mean, and then if you are trading Falino,
that is another leadership role that opens up. It's not just Dickinson and Murphy. It would be
Vlasik or Falino as well. And I'm not I don't think that they would just if they do move Falino
in the next 23 hours, I don't think Friday night counter-bredards on the ice with the sea on
his jersey. I'll let's say make a part of the the next originals. It'd be a really nice time
to introduce your new captain from a marketing standpoint. Interesting. But they won't do that.
I think you'll have three eights going down here. Yeah. And that's all the Euro.
But yeah, I mean, to your point, like, you know, as Kyle Davidson has gone through these
drafts and these draft classes, a lot of these guys have been beaters amongst their peers
at the junior level and at the NCAA level. And for, you know, if they played for world
juniors, like a lot of these guys have had those leadership roles at those spots too. Ethan
Del Mastra was a captain of his junior team. Frank Nasar, Oliver Moore, Sam Ranzell, I believe
all-war letters in college. Ryan Green was a was co-capped in at BU his final year there.
Nick Lardus was a leader with with with Branford. Like, just a lot of these guys have all been in
those roles amongst their age group. Now it's now it's like, okay, like hot now that some of you
have been in the league for a year, two, three years, you got to start seeing yourself as an NHL
or like, you are amongst your peers. You can kind of tap back into those leadership qualities
that you've had and feel comfortable in that role. And like you said, like, nothing really changes
with these guys. Like, you know, you it's not like you put a A or a C on their jersey and they get
like a actual power. It's just I think a little bit comes with feeling like you have the floor,
right? And not having to kind of be like, well, is this my is this my place to kind of step in
and say something or do something or whatever? Like, you kind of just like, okay, well, I've kind of
been entrusted with this role from the organization, from the coaching staff, from my teammates.
Like, it just gives you a little bit of that. Like, you have the green light to go and be, you know,
a, you know, go and be one of those guys that, you know, people are going to are going to look to
and lean on and even if it doesn't really change what you do or what you say, it allows you to just
kind of maybe feel a little bit more like, okay, like I'm at the front of the line. So I got,
you know, it kind of gives you that like extra motivation to make sure you're doing the right
things, saying the right things, executing being, being the one that's kind of leading the way.
All right, we have a $2 super chat from PIP Hastings who says, will you commit to being patient
with the youngsters? I don't know who that's aimed to. We're the CHGO Blackhawks show. We started
on March 4th, 2022, believes about three days in the Kyle Davidson's official tenure as a general
manager of the Chicago Blackhawks and we basically started when the rebuild was fully underway. So
all we've known is patients with the rebuild and all we do is spend our free time at home arguing
with people on Twitter about how much good young I know you're not a new, I know you're not new here.
Is that is it aimed to us? I don't know. If it's aimed at the fan base, yeah, there needs to be
a lot more patients. Oh yeah, he says we're going to complain corners of the same. Not be patient.
The hawks are going to be super bad and Jay and Mario are going to complain with all due respect
and not be patient. Amen. I don't know where you. I don't know what to show you. I'll say back that
you're not new here. I don't I don't know if I don't know what you've been listening to.
Somehow I'm a water carrier four Kyle Davidson and impatient with the we're going to complain and
be impatient with the young players. That's us. That's every day. All right. Every day. Man. All right.
Well, we're going to hit the break. So we come back. We're going to hear from Alex Flazic. We're going
to hear from Conor Bedard. But first let's hear from Jeff Flazic who has a little bit of a thought on
Andrew Mangia Pani who should be joining the team shortly after you got a break. That's what I said.

All right, we are back on CHGO black hawks. Andrew Mangiapani is in the black hawks plans. He was
not a practice today because he has visa issues as a player. He's got to go through the process.
He was just traded last night. But we don't know if he'll be patients, Jay. I know I'm
pleased. They'll have no. We don't know if he'll be here tomorrow. If he's here tomorrow,
I would still shock me if he plays. If they're just like, welcome to Chicago, jump in there.
Yeah, surprise. Jeff Fleshall, as he'll say, sounds like a guy that wants to give Mangiapani
like an actual practice first, but we'll see. Well, it's here briefly here from Jeff Fleshall
on what he expects from Andrew Mangiapani. First off, he gets an opportunity to have a clean slate here
and he's been a good player in this league. He'll get an opportunity to be a good player here.
And he's what I, in the city and say that I know him in and out, I don't think he ever
wants to really coach somebody. And that's the same thing I told every guy that was in that
room at the beginning of the year. But what I've known about him is he's been a guy who's got
kind of that really, really good work at that can speed. So he's kind of a dog on a bone.
I think that fits into how we want to play. And he's got that with some offensive touch. And so
that fits into how we want to play where he slots in with which line we'll see as we go. I don't
know for sure if he's available tomorrow or not just working through he'll be in town. But you
just got to work through the immigration stuff. So I'm not sure on that yet. All right, there you go.
There's the answer for Mangiapani. Our buddy Wendy City Hockey wants us to know that he
won number 26 for the Barry Colts and the OHL. So he will might probably wear that since 88's off
the table. All right, 26, good old Steve Sullivan. Is anybody 26 right now? No, like down in Rockford.
I think so. I don't think so. Kyle Komiske. 26. Sure. Who could forget? He's a Stanley Cup champion.
Yes he is. His name is on the cup. Yeah, I'm I'm I'm all for
Andrew Mangiapani coming here and playing a role and being serviceable. I'm all for that.
If that if he can come in and he can play and he can contribute and he can fit a role with this
team. I'm totally fine with that. If he comes in and plays and is terrible, then I have no
qualms about sitting him or buying him out or whatever. Because I think
is he even part of the, you know, team beyond next season where where he's under contract?
I don't think so. Probably not. Even if he plays well, probably not. No. So yeah, I'm totally fine.
If he steps in, plays a role is effective. Great. If he's not, please move to the left for
faster moving vehicles because there's a lot of younger players that are going to be coming up
and, you know, deserve those opportunities. His last three seasons in Calgary,
Mangiapani, 21, 22. He had 35 goals and 20 assists, 22, 23, 17 and 26, 23, 24, 14 and 26.
So 55, 43, 40 and points, then with the capitals and 24, 25, 28 points. And this year he's got 14
with Edmonton, 7 and 7. But the ice time has gone slowly down since that big season. So look,
like I said earlier, Reclamation project. Mk of Dickinson Dickinson or Ben others were the
Hawks have taken him on that's turned out okay for those guys. You could probably say the same for
Mack Rizlik. Who knows, but I would say this, if he sucks, I don't think that any qualms about
sending him down or benching number, whatever it might be. No. He was taking him on in the Dickinson
dock, Hickory Dickory trade, Hickory Dickinson dock. That was a favorite to the Oilers.
That was we're helping you get this money. And it probably made a second of first.
And it, yes, and it turned that that pick into a first round pick coming back for the Hawks.
So yeah, I mean, again, it's it's low stakes. So I'm completely fine with it. If it either way,
it's it's it's fine for the Hawks because you you've already gotten your first round pick out
of him. So that's if he if he provides anything to you at the NHL level, then it's a bonus. That's
a yeah, exactly. All right. Let's hear from this is we are on the leadership thing. Let's hear
from Alex Vlasik. This I had to kind of hustle into the scrum here because it starts with Alex
Ne. He is actually responding to the question from Mark Lazarus about being the longest tenured black
hawks. So that's what he's laughing about here in the beginning. Yeah, same for me. It's
definitely pretty weird, but you know, obviously a great honor and a cool opportunity for me to be
here with with everything that you know, this organization has been through since I've been here.
So I'm yeah, really really grateful for my experience here and looking forward to the future.
You know Dickinson and Murphy are obviously two guys who had a big presence in the
room. You guys looked up to how does the dynamic change as this team gets considerably younger?
We're tough. We're going to have to yeah, guys are going to have to fill some roles. We're going to
have to figure out who's going to step up and you know, whether that's being more vocal or just
you know, even you know, the way that Dickie and Murphy played the game, both very honorable and
the way that they played was was a way to set the tone and be a leader. So we're going to need
some guys to step up and do that. You know, I consider myself one of those guys that can potentially
do that. So I think it's going to be a contribution from everybody in the locker room.
When you're part of a rebuilding team, how does the trade deadline time hit in here? Does it feel
a little bit uneasy? Like the unknown of still a couple of more hours to go? Yeah, absolutely. I
think it's it's kind of scary. You know, you don't want to lose any of your good buddies. You don't
want to get treated yourself. So you're obviously, you know, the way that I figure out stuff is just
checking Instagram. So the last couple days I've just kind of been constantly refreshing my page,
making sure I'm not missing out. And yeah, it's it's it's definitely pretty nerve-racking to kind of
not really know what could happen. You know, you have a group of brothers in here and all of a
sudden that can kind of just be completely, you know, separated. So it's yeah, it is scary.
Is there a pressure? I mean, so a couple years ago, you guys have been sellers this time of year,
where you've had the biggest process of watching friends. Is that frustrating on some level?
Is that something where you're like, gosh, I can't wait to get to maybe the other side of this,
maybe you're welcoming guys instead of fixing. Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't say it's it's frustrating.
I think, you know, we all kind of knew that this was part of the plan going forward. And
if anything, it it like I kind of said earlier, it is a little bit more sad just to kind of lose
some of your buddies potentially. But yeah, definitely, I mean, we talked about it as a team. We
want to become a team where we're not losing anybody. We're keeping the guys that we have in here
because everybody's contributing and, you know, pushing that effort to make playoffs and potentially
being a contender. So over the next couple of years, we hope to be like you said, somebody that's,
you know, a team that's not selling and that, you know, potentially we're about, we could be
buying and adding to our great group in here. Do you know, are you getting the aid? I have no idea.
No, no, no, we'll see. Yeah, I mean, I would be grateful and honored. But yeah, we'll see.
All right, that sounds fly. I said, I really, I've been kind of bullish about this for a while.
I really think that he is, he is primed to wear a letter for this team. I think so.
I just, he is so level headed. I know there's been, I don't know if it's been frustration,
but I think some people have maybe thought he would have turned a bit more of a corner here than he
has because he started out so promisingly. And I think he's still a very good player, but it feels
like that big massive jump hasn't come for him yet. And we are getting to 300 game mark that Chris
Pronger so famously talks about. But in terms of leadership, in terms of value, in terms of
presence, like it is all positive for Alex Flasick. And I think he's going to, it would shock me,
if, especially if Lino's gone, if he's not given one of the A's, I wonder if they'll do it,
give it to a veteran, probably Dave O or Dave Overtuzzi, maybe or Denado. Yeah, maybe one of those
three. Well, I think those three have all worn it at some point, either this year or last year.
So, yeah, I would say if, if Flino's dealt, it's, but Dard, one of those guys in Classic,
probably would be mine. And you get, you get four when you don't have a captain. So if you don't name
a captain, you get four A's. So does it have to be like at any point you don't have a captain
or is it just like you start the season and you don't name a guy? That I don't know. I just know
from time to the past where there's not been a captain, they have had four alternate captains.
So we'll see. Kind of, but Dard also spoke today. I was a little bit taken by how, I don't know,
I use the word emotional in the tweet. He's not crying or anything, but you could tell he's
a little bit shaken by the results of the what happened the last few days. Yeah, I mean, this is
now the, the third time he's gone through a trade deadlines part of the season and the hawks
are trading players of value. You know, he, he was real tight with Taylor Hall. He was real tight
with Taylor Rattish all the time. Jonathan Taylor Thomas Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift.
And, you know, he, him and, him and Doc have been good friends for a while and they've come up
together and in the organization they played for Team Canada, all that stuff. You know, he,
he gets to know all the, all the guys and gets to have type bonds with them. And so yeah, it's
tough to, it's tough for, you know, those guys to continuously be, be traded and, and experience
that. And, you know, you'll hear at the end here, he kind of talks about like that motivation,
that, that factor of not wanting to go through this anymore. And I think a lot of people are kind
of twisting that of like, he doesn't want to go through this so he's going to leave. I think
kind of Bernard is, is to, you know, just assume being his brain for a second. I think he's
probably processing that as this like, I want to win. And I want to, I want to do it here.
You'll hear other times where he's talking about like, you know, he's talking about his future
in Chicago and things that they're going to accomplish and all that stuff. Yeah. It's, it's a
motivation to bring the black hawks to that point where they're buyers and they're winning. It's not,
I'm just going to dip and just go to a contender because whatever, like, I feel and I get the
sense that he's got the, the drive in him and the competitiveness in him that he wants to be the
one that turns it around and not just, you know, quit when it's hard. Right. All right, here he is.
This is a counterpart after practice today. Here is for us as far as playing the
bite of teammates and everything. And just, we have a lot of toughest hit every year to say goodbye to
guys and out there. Yeah, that was, I guess it was really tough. Like, you know, like,
Dickie, I've been with the whole time. It's kind of like, no, I can't hold it brother to me and,
um, so much that's a lot of time with and, uh, so it's, it sucks and, you know, it's part of,
part of what we do, but, um, yeah, it sucks and, and Docker as well as someone, you know, that,
you know, two weeks ago, uh, me, him and Greeny were on vacation talking about, you know, after
when the calpher, you know, go back and stuff like that. So, uh, you know, it's hard and, you know,
obviously, Marif has a couple of days. I feel like we, I talked about that already, but, um, you know,
it sucks for sure. But then, when you're getting the rest of the season, just, what is, what is
I mean to you? I mean, you know, at some point, maybe it leads to more to see at some point,
but just to have that letter. Uh, yeah, end of the day. It doesn't change anything I'm going to do,
um, as a person, as a player, uh, but obviously it's, uh, you know, good honor to be, be recognized
with that. And, um, you know, I've been able to learn for a lot of, a lot of great guys in the
last three years. And, uh, I feel like I've grown a lot in a lot of ways. Um, you know, I'm, um,
obviously happy about that. And, um, you know, I want to keep, keep getting better on the
air. It's all the same in those ways. Yeah, like I said, I'm not going to change anything about
who I am. So, you know, I'm just going to see myself and obviously, uh, you know, I feel like,
you know, I do things that, um, have those qualities. So, uh, just keep, keep being me kind of.
It's a little, uh, very, very sad. No, I'm a terrible. I'm good at one thing and, uh, you know,
it's my job. So I'm lucky. Is there any, any any illness in the room you feel with the deadline
still tomorrow and still potentially more change there? I don't know about uneasy. I think,
you know, I personally don't think I'm getting dealt. So, um, you know, there's different, different
different things for each person, but, you know, like I talked about, you know, it's
a family and you're guys, you're with every single day, so, you know, you're just maybe
a little nervous that guys are going to get moved, but, you know, like I said, it's part
of it, and, you know, it's motivating that this is the last year that we're in a spot.
We're a little moving guys that help us, you know, we move a lot of guys that help us
win games, so that's a shitty feeling, but just try to not let that happen.
Connor Bedard, potty mouth, watch your dang mouth, absolutely ridiculous, open that mouth.
I am growingly agreeing with the players that there should not be a game on tree deadline
day.
Absolutely ridiculous.
It's terrible.
It's so stupid, so dumb.
Yeah, I would not, because, because not only, yeah, as Phelinos talked about earlier,
not only, like, do those guys have to kind of go through the roller coaster of what
the day could be and then prepare and go play a game, you know, there's people that
will travel to go see a game for, you know, family members of players.
And if they're getting traded and they're in transit to, like, you know, if they're
flying in from home and coming to see a guy play and then it's like, actually, I just
got traded, like, you know, it's pretty crazy like that.
And I'm sure the organizations, you know, have to do a quick turnaround and, you know, us
with doing our jobs, like, it can be a crazy day, a quick turnaround.
So just, if you just treat deadline day as it's like its own day, and then you get back
to it later with games and stuff.
Like, I'd be, I'd be really happy with that.
I do remember, just came back up in my Facebook memories.
I went to a Black Hawk scheme about 10 years ago it might have been.
It was the day of deadline day.
And yeah, I just, I remember going and watching that game and being, and being like, what,
you know, what are they going to do at the deadline?
I can't remember exactly what it was.
But yeah, it was, it's, it's, it's just crazy.
And Felino too mentioned that his first season in the NHL with, with Ottawa, the, they had
a game, I think in, I think you said in Boston on deadline day and he's like his agents calling
him.
And apparently there was a deal that included Felino as a rookie Antoine Vermette and something
else going from Ottawa to Atlanta to bring Mary and host a back to the senators.
Wow.
And he was like, if he said something along the lines of like his agent told him like,
it's like 90% done.
And then it didn't happen.
And then the deadline goes by and he's like, oh, I guess I'm playing the Bruins tonight.
Like, let me get ready and go.
Yeah.
He's like his bags half-packed.
Yeah.
Nick, where are your spades on?
Oh, I'm just waiting today to do that.
Yeah, so, so he was, yes, he was telling us that story.
He was like, so you're welcome for not screwing up Hosa's trajectory.
Man, that is a, I think of the all three, like the altering of Hawks history that would
have made.
Hosa maybe never reaches free.
Yeah, if he goes, yeah, if he goes back to the senators, never goes the Pittsburgh, never
goes the Detroit, never comes to Chicago.
Antoine Vermette has a different, totally different trajectory to his career.
Yeah.
Never joins a man.
That's, it's like, maybe you never know.
Maybe Atlanta flat thrashers stick around.
Yeah.
I don't think so.
Maybe Antoine Vermette and Nick Fellino are the faces of the Atlanta thrashers.
Thrashers legend this day.
No, no.
All right.
It is time to take to temp presented by your trusted local experts for heating, air conditioning,
plumbing, sewer, and electric.
It's four seasons, visit four seasons, heating cooling dot com for all their special offers
and money saving coupons.
That's four seasons, heating cooling dot com little.
This would be a way bigger story if it wasn't today.
Kevin Corchinsky, who has spent the last, what, two and a half weeks in Chicago, played
two games when Sam Ranzell was sick, has been sent back to Rockford.
So don't really know what the point of all that was.
Maybe they just wanted to get a look, maybe have somebody around in case they have to trade
another defenseman, but courts back in Rockford.
So guest goes screw the article I wrote.
This is specifically despite.
It is despite me.
Yeah.
It's a really great chance for Kevin Corchinsky to play the last 20 games of the Black Hawk
and really make an impression, um, yeah, I made it time there.
I sure I think there could be a part of it is the, you know, the deadline, um, players
that need that can be sent back to the AHL after the deadline have to be on the AHL roster
by the NHL deadline.
So that's potentially in play.
If they want to move them back and forth at the end of the season.
But new rules require that if a player is sent down to the AHL, they have to play in
at least one game.
There's no longer paper transaction that should used to be, um, but I mean, he's going
to, if he goes down and plays one game and comes back like whatever, um, but we were
kind of talking about it today with eight healthy defensemen with Corchinsky around.
You had, you have 13 forwards.
You have a full, full roster.
So if you're adding frondelle at some point soon, you're adding bovair to the mix, like
there's going to be some roster decisions, uh, made, uh, they have to be made and you
have a monjupani as well, like, because they have 12 forwards, yeah, 12 forwards right
now, um, for tomorrow's game and then if monjupani is here and available, he makes 13 forwards.
Um, so you don't want to be at the max capacity of roster size.
If you know that potentially, um, you know, you're bringing guys in, but again, we're still
23 hours, 20, almost 22 hours away from the deadline.
Maybe roster spots are opened by trades that could still happen, whether it's Filippino
or McKayla or maybe Grizzly, who knows, um, or maybe Corchinsky or maybe Corchinsky.
Yeah.
It's, it's, um, I think strictly from a giving a player a chance and an opportunity standpoint,
like if I'm looking at that in a vacuum, Corchinsky was brought up.
This was Jeff Blaschel's longest time to see him in person.
Yeah.
And I think not impressed to steal a line from George St. Pierre.
He was not impressed by his performance and he said, get me Ethan Del Mastro.
Fly him up here now.
And that, that changed things.
So absolutely.
We'll see.
Well, it's interesting.
And now with, uh, why Kaiser, who will play tomorrow, but I mean, that, unless you wakes
up, heard again, somehow, it really looks like why Kaiser will be in the lineup Friday.
So, um, yeah, Corch is running out of spots, man.
He really is.
Yeah.
Um, like I said before, it makes no sense to cut bait on him, uh, you know, beyond, beyond
Friday, if he's still around, you still need to invest in his development, um, you still
have to have, uh, time for him to figure out what he's going to be as a professional.
And he's 21, like he's still a young guy, he's still got to figure that out.
He's not even 100 game yet.
He's not anywhere near fully mature, uh, immature as a, as his NHL skill set, um, so I think
like, you know, if you keep him around, he needs a new contract after the, after, you
know, this season's over.
He's an RFA.
So you have all the control in the, in the situation, you, I mean, you extend him.
One year, two years, who knows?
I would go to, to give him that runway, um, because you still think he's going to factor
into the future of this organization.
At least I do think how David's and probably still thinks that, um, but he's, he's going
to need to earn and take advantage of opportunities beyond what this one should have been for
him.
Uh, super chat here from Rutra.
That's a new name.
That's a new name, but that's, um, yeah, I'm all confused.
AJ, AJ.
Yeah.
He changed his thing.
A game on, uh, TDL 2006, that's trade deadline, Hawks, Avs, Jim Dowd got traded to the
Avs and played Brandego Brocinski was traded for arrived after the game started and played.
If I recall correctly, Daze was dressed, but didn't play.
There you go.
Trade deadline day.
There it is.
Yeah.
I still don't like games on that day.
No, it's stupid.
Um, by the way, you see, uh, our new Tommy Hawk Wobblehead, that will be handed out
tomorrow.
First eight thousand fans, uh, first eight thousand fans in line, uh, here's what's happening
tomorrow.
It is the last chapter of the centennial season.
The next originals, atrium doors open at five, uh, inside the atrium fans can explore
in NHL edge exhibit, highlighting next gen advanced stats and how they shape the game.
Fans can also step into the crease with an interactive virtual reality goalie experience
alongside a visual evolution of golden equipment from Tony O's era to today's modern gear.
At six p.m.
The UC gates open.
That's for the first eight thousand.
We'll get their Bobblehead and then they're encouraging you to be in your seat by seven
for a camp miss pregame ceremony.
Will the curtain get stuck?
Yes or no?
Mario Tiribasi.
It's like a hundred.
It's two foot four.
Isn't it batting?
Oh, I thought it was batting a thousand.
Two for four.
Um, yes.
Because because it has to.
It's not a black hawk's ceremony this year if the curtain doesn't get stuck.
Yeah.
He starts at seven, uh, Darren Pangwell, MC, the tribute, full of surprises and unforgettable
moments, moments honoring the next generation of players, fans and moments still to come.
So we will be there.
We'll be here post game.
Well, Kyle Davidson is also speaking at 430 tomorrow.
Um, we will do our best to record that.
It might not be the ideal place to do that.
But we will try it.
I mean, it'll be like, uh, we will post it to YouTube.
It will be like, uh, when Blaschle does post, uh, post game.
Yeah.
I'll use my little Lavalier and put them on his table and ours.
So we should have that for you, uh, depending on how long he talks.
But before the game, we'll have that up on our YouTube channel.
So you can watch it.
Totally fine.
And we'll talk to you post game.
Do we want to, uh, talk about our experience today?
I mean, we can go to overtime.
Sure.
We can go to overtime.
Well, in a minute and a half, we'll be going to wait.
See, we've never done this this way.
Do we have to wait until the minute and a half is up to declare overtime?
Or can we just say right now, we're just going to stand behind the net with the puck
for an out for a minute.
Exactly.
And just decide to go overtime, communally, you have to wait until the hour is up.
All right.
Hang on.
All right.
Everyone take this next minute.
Close right?
I'm ready to take a drink.
Breathe.
One with the universe.
All as well.
Patience.
Patience and prostitutes.
Talk about whatever you want up to that.
Oh, no.
I'm nothing else.
I'm out of stuff.
Yeah.
But you don't have to wait to go to overtime to talk about the experience today.
You can just talk about it.
And then just throw it in there.
That's awkward.
I mean, that's why you have to force people have to go to YouTube.
Quick.
Everyone.
Yes.
Find us go to allchto.com and watch the rest of the show because we're going to go to overtime.
If you're watching us on the factory, your screens are going to go dark and we're going
to go get cut off midsens, but go find us.
Watch the rest of the show because this is the most can't miss content you've ever
couldn't miss.
Yeah.
Good job, Mario.
Yeah.
That's been it.
All right.
So today, we had the opportunity to try some of the new food items at Blackhawks Ice
Center.
And it's really interesting the way they're the mindset that Danny Words and Jamie Falkner
had in this design where it's going to be open all the time in the mornings.
It'll be the downstairs cafe pastries, coffee, all that, raise the cup, raise the cup.
And then the afternoon, the Rockies area will open where they'll have, we had chilly
dogs, we had chicken tenders, gluten free.
Yes.
Some of us had salad.
Yes.
Some of us did.
Weren't over time.
Boom.
Officially.
There you go.
Pizza.
Tavern style.
Very thin crust.
Yeah.
It was great.
The fries, charcuterie.
Yeah.
It's just the, they had smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, all available like tons of food
options and it's going to be a full bar as well, all those offerings and cocktails and
stuff.
Yeah.
They did a tremendous job kind of laying out what's going to be available.
And I think, you know, with all the renovations and additions that they did to the Blackhawks
Ice Center presented by a fifth third bank, they've really made it more of, even more
of a like hockey community hub where you're going to have those, you know, food and drink
and cafe venues open like around normal business hours.
Like it's not just going to be open on 1 a.m.
They said as far as, yeah, as far as we understand, it's not just going to be on weekends
when there's hockey tournaments will open up the cafe for an hour or whatever it is.
It'll be like a place to go.
That's right across street from Malcolm X College, like people, I've seen people go in,
you know, with book bags and stuff and, you know, working on whatever and, you know,
get a coffee and stuff like that.
So it's a really good, really good space that they can use that's not just be holding
to the hockey schedule.
Now, of course, the Chicago Steelers are going to be there.
They still have a bunch of tournaments at the facilities all the time, you know, junior
tournaments, youth tournaments, stuff like that.
And then, yeah, you know, it's going to be open on game days and everything.
So it's going to be a good location for people to go to.
And yes, the chicken tenders that are offered there.
We've got to show the bucket that Chloe is oddly just maneuvering around the screen.
Like it's 1992.
Go ahead and throw to it.
Ta-da.
What a visual aspect to this podcast.
The KFC knockoff of Rocky Words on the Chicken Bucket is a wonderful touch.
That's great.
I love that.
That is so funny.
Yes, the chicken tenders are, and the chicken that's on the chicken sandwich is gluten free.
It is not flour breaded.
It is something called cup for cup to cup for cup for cup for cup for cup for cup.
I talked to the chef and he told me.
So it is buttermilk and pickle juice based breading that is flourless with potato starch,
corn starch and some other binders, but it's all flourless.
So this was the first chicken tender, true chicken tender that I've had in like four years.
And they are so meaty.
It's like basically having a chicken breast, a deboned chicken breast.
It is tenderized and it was so delicious.
I like almost had a tear come to my eye.
Do we want to show the taste test?
Oh, yeah.
That's right.
Yeah, let's do it.
Oh, by the way, before you hit play, look for the little cameo in the background here.
Right?
Well, we can call cameos.
But there's one.
There's one that will catch your eye.
Really funny one.
Yeah.
Right off the hop.
We've had black hawks eye center sampling some of the new items available to everyone
pretty much all day here a year around.
We're up at the Rockies on the top floor and the black hawks have provided a wide sampling
of food for us.
We are going to taste test the chicken tenders, which we learned are gluten free.
Yes.
And from one off catering, they say the best chicken tenders ever.
So put that to the test.
Let's give them a try.
Do the honor.
You guys, that is a large tenor.
You're going to see if I explode first.
Yes.
Put some barbecue on.
I'm doing barbecue.
Yep.
Hopefully that crunch comes through.
Boy, that is delicious.
I saw the gluten free bread him talked with the chef here.
It's something called cup for cup.
So it's a flourless breading still involves buttermilk, pickle juice.
You can taste that.
I can taste the pickle juice.
Yep.
And then it's potato and cornstarches.
So it's no flour.
You still get a really good crunch.
Great crunch.
And then you boil in the tenders, really good, chickens, really tender, thick.
Chickeny.
So big piece of chicken.
Plenty of chicken.
The chicken to breading ratio with this breading emphasizes the chicken, which is too
much breading can ruin a tender.
But sometimes without enough breading, you don't get the crunch with this.
You get the crunch and the good chicken ratio.
These are excellent.
This is really, really good.
Rest of the food.
Wait, what are we doing?
One through ten.
Oh.
It's the first chicken tender I've had in years.
It's got to be a ten.
So it's a ten right now.
Yeah, I've not had a better chicken tender.
I'll say that.
And yeah, I got to agree with you.
That's very good.
It's a ten chicken tender and it's dangerous for us because we're here almost every day.
And you can get a bucket of these.
And yes, the bucket is fantastic with rocky works his face in it.
Colonel Rocky works.
Really, really good.
But all the food we've tried so far, we've had fries are delicious.
Chili dogs, fries, pizza.
Tavern style pizza is really good.
I don't know who cares, but the salads are good.
Couldn't tell.
Hot dogs, brats, great stuff here.
Yeah, really good.
Come check it out.
Black Hawkside Center right on Jackson.
All right, so Rocky's table and tap is the upstairs part.
That's where the, like, that sort of food will be sold.
And then, of course, there's the public in breads on the lower floor for the coffee shop.
And man, I had, they had a whole, like, tray laid out of bread in Kersharkutri.
And I just, like, saw this piece of bread.
I'm like, that one looks really good.
It was, like, focaccia soft, a little, like, a little bit oily.
Oh, just tremendous.
Everything we try was great.
And we're not just, like, yeah, the hawks fed us.
So we're saying it was wonderful.
Way to carry water, Jay.
We would have just shown you the pictures and called it a day.
But it was really, really good.
And I really like the idea that, like, we can, practice is over.
We can just walk over there and grab one before we come to the show.
Yeah.
It's great.
So, uh, enjoy it.
Go and go and go.
Like, you don't have to wait for an event.
You can just show up anytime in the area.
Yeah.
The black hawks hall of fame is open.
It looks awesome.
So, uh, go check that out.
It's, it's, they really did a phenomenal job with the black hawks eye center.
Uh, and every hawks fan should take time.
Again, you don't have to wait for open hours.
It's open all day.
So you can walk in, see Centennial Hall.
See the hall of fame.
Get the food.
Yeah.
The other thing, too, is that's all, uh, open, uh, open and, uh,
walked around there, uh, a little bit yesterday, uh, a lot of cool stuff in the,
the archives of the Centennial Hall, they've got the 100 hockey sticks that, um,
commemorate the hundred years of black hawks hockey, uh, with like a timeline of
things.
Some of those sticks are colored differently.
You'll see the six sticks that stand out for, you can think of obvious reasons.
Um, and yeah, it's just, uh, it's, it's a really cool space.
I got the old like, um, uh, season programs that are framed like the big, uh,
big pictures of his, uh, it's very cool, very cool spot.
Basically, I know you've said it, but it's, it seems rare sometimes when, you know,
places that get these renovations or these new facilities or whatever,
actually look and live up to the, like, renderings.
The, it looks fantastic.
It's like walking through a rendering.
It feels, it feels, uh, modern.
It feels, yeah, it's, it's awesome.
So, um, it's a great spot.
Like I said, the Chicago Steel are going to be located there, starting, uh,
next season that, uh, USG arena looks, looks awesome.
I know it's some of the, uh, like, wreck league has played in that,
in that rank.
They've got, you know, figure skaters over there all the time.
Like, it's, it continues to be, now they've added the two ranks.
Now, there's four of them, including what already was already there.
So, um, yeah, it's just, it's, it's a really great addition, um, to, uh, to,
to the local hockey community.
It's awesome.
I believe the plans are now to, now that the new west area is done,
that they're going to kind of retroactively re renovate the east side.
They're going to match the new side and make it a little, because I think when they built
the fifth arena, it was, it's very like functional.
It's not designed to be a community space.
It's designed to host hockey, right?
Like, there's not a lot of, um, yeah.
What's the word?
There's not like a lot of, uh, hospitality there.
It's just kind of, uh, it's there for hockey.
And that's what it was built for, which is fine.
But Danny Words and Jamie Falkner said, no, it's, what's, we're in the middle of the community here.
Let's let people come in and experience this, even if they're not hockey players.
And they did a wonderful job with it.
And I think you're going to retrofit the east half to, to resemble it, at least more closely.
So go check it out.
The official address of Black Hawk's Ice Center, 1801 west Jackson, just east of Damon on Jackson,
uh, and go check out, uh, Rocky's table and tap and, uh, raise the cup and all the great stuff they got going there.
It's really a cool place.
All right.
Over time's over.
We just got scored on.
Warren Fogel.
Is being traded.
Oh, no.
Uh, are we staying on for the Warren Fogel tree?
I'm just, I'm just looking it up Ottawa.
Warren Fogel is going to Ottawa per Darren Dregor.
But on yesterday's show, we commended Darren Dregor for kind of being on it with the Colton Perico thing.
He was on it.
He was on it until court said no until they told Colton Perico about the trade.
And he said no.
Uh, and Lord Hosea says per David Pagnota, the Hawks are linked to Bruins prospect.
Matthew Pochois.
So who said it first?
Love that.
What a way to end the show.
We'll talk to you tomorrow post game.
Unless there's a trade tonight.
As soon as I drive into my drive.
Yeah, I'll be home in two hours.
So keep your keep by your phones over the next two hours.
Don't go to target Chloe.
Yeah, all right.
We'll talk to you tomorrow on CHG Black Hawks.
