1:00Now there's been a showdown in Canberra. Anthony Albanese has faced off against one of his loudest critics in a game of tennis. Joseph Dowd has been raising the alarm about labor's changes to capital gains tax and negative gearing. Since the budget, the mortgage broker has been running a campaign called Stop the Ambition Tax. He paid more than $16,000 to secure a charity tennis match with the Prime Minister. And now Joseph has finally had his day on the court. And he's brought along three everyday Aussies with him to speak directly to the Prime Minister about the impact from his budget. And sadly for Joseph, he was beaten in straight sets. But prior to the match, he took his message to the sky to make sure that Albo didn't miss it. He had sky writers spelling out, stop the tax above Parliament House in Canberra. 2:01doing? Good. We'll get to the tennis. We'll get to the tennis later. I want to start off with the the mood, the conversation. How was the Prime Minister? To be honest, I couldn't believe that the guy was so good at deflecting. You know, we're in there. We were discussing hot topics. We brought up data. We brought up key points, even one of our guests cried in front of him. And he kept bringing up incorrect points that weren't factual. He brought up the GDP growing. He said, it's up this march is better than the US. And I go, what's the GDP per capita? Because that's actually negative. So so many times we brought up key points, key concerns of every day Australia that he just kept deflecting, deflecting, deflecting. I could not believe what I was listening to. And then when a small business owner cries and I'm the one that has to get up and say, hey, could somebody get her glass of water? That really told me everything about the Prime Minister's office and his team. Right. So is that Samantha from Western Sydney? Who's upset? That is correct. She told her

3:03stories of the Prime Minister. She was bawling her eyes out. Okay. And to be honest, I feel like that the concerns of the everyday Australian actually went on death is, you know, I've had a lot of money to have this match. I donated the charity. The Prime Minister was kind enough to actually book it in. But then when we bring the concerns of the everyday punner and they it's not listened to, mate, this is not a fair go. I'll tell you that now. Yeah. So Samantha runs a cleaning business in Western Sydney. She says, I'm a single mum. I started my business more than 16 years ago. I'm finally at a point where I can secure my family's future. But just as I get there, a government that hasn't listened to the people pulls the rug out from underneath me. So just tell me a little bit more about the PM's reaction when Samantha started bawling her eyes out. Well, he's under and he said, oh, you know, these laws have come, these laws have been legislated, but they don't really come into effect until July 1, 2027. And that's when I kind of sat there and said, this guy's never had skin in the game. He doesn't understand what it's like to deal with clients. He doesn't understand

4:05what it's like to do only own business because that means we now have to plan. We have to pivot. We have to make shifts in our business prior to July 1. He just said, oh, yeah, it's just a switch that we could turn on and off. And truthfully, we should not have these bureaucrats making decisions for small business owners when they've never had to have skin in the game before. We've also got to remind ourselves that he lied over and over and over and so did Jim Charmers. They told us these changes weren't coming in the budget. May he lie about the score as well? I'll tell you that right now. I've never seen anything like this. I have never seen a manufactured tennis score and the Prime Minister's biggest political win being a rigged tennis match. Oh my gosh. That amount of time. I'm happy to say it, mate. I'm happy to say I'm happy to go all out and say it was a manufactured score because I walked out of the lodge and I go, you know what? He was nice. He was hospitable. And then all of a sudden, I stay here and about scores. Why were the individuals that I brought along with me able to watch

5:05the tennis match? Why was he able to take a 15 minute tickle break in the middle of a set? A tickle break? He took a tinkle, mate. A 15 minute tinkle. Oh, a tinkle break. I thought he was having a tickle. So hang on a minute. I'm keen to get to the bottom of the tennis now. So who was playing against who? He was myself against the prime minister. It was the two of us on the court. None of my guests were able to be in attendance. It was only the prime minister's staff and the staff of the lodge that were able to be there. So I thought to myself, okay, you know what? We'll have a bit of fun out here. We'll go back and forth and then all of a sudden a manufactured tennis score was breaked out to the media and I could not stop laughing. Hang on a moment. Hang on Joseph. Joseph, who won? Pardon? Who won? I will openly admit he won the first set but when I do stood up in the second and he took a 15 minute tickle break and then all of a sudden he double-felt to gave himself a point. He went out a couple of times and gave himself a point. You told me the people that why hang on, hang on, hang on. Joseph Joseph. Let me ask you something. Are you telling me

6:10that he was making some dodgy line calls? Oh, mate. I am more than happy to say that a few times it went out and it was counted in and that's when I knew what type of match I was in that day. Who won the second set? The score was two two and the shenanigans began. So the pay-in won on the score? The three straight sets was it was it was it just another change in position on what the score actually was. You can hear me fire it up Ben because when I walked out of there I said you know what this guy was all right he listened everything and then I found out a manufactured test goal and I graded myself. You know what? If you just want to have your team there, your paid staff, all those people there and they want to make up this story, how about instead of that let's do a public match next time so that he can't hide behind these paid witnesses. What an absolute joke. What an absolute joke. I'm fired up mate. I'm fired up. I've got a feeling that you've got him beat on the budget but he had you beat on the tennis court.

7:15I never said he was a bad tennis player. I never said that he couldn't move sides of side but when I found out he manufactured a score after I had one two a couple of points and I'd do sit up after all of that. I go okay mate let's go tell the public what actually happened last night. I'm calling rematch. We'll talk to you soon.
