Ariel Coneg is back on the stand in Hawaii one year after she says her husband tried to
kill her during a hike on her birthday.

faces a charge of second degree attempted murder.
Prosecutors say he attacked her on March 24, 2025, along the Pallipuca trail on a Wahoo.
He has pleaded not guilty and faces up to life in prison.
Coneg told jurors the attack began near a cliff during what was supposed to be a birthday
She said her husband grabbed her and pushed her toward the edge after she refused to take
a photo close to the edge.
She described the moment the violence escalated.
I was screaming and so he's covering my mouth and stuff and then we had this moment of
like, he seems like he takes a deep breath and then he just starts hitting my face and
my head with a rock.
She says she tried to fight back as he continued the assault.
I'm screaming and he's telling me shut the f*** up.
Nobody's going to hear you out here.
Nobody's coming to save you.
Coneg told the jury he was on top of her during the struggle and tried to inject her with
He's on top of me and he had a syringe in his hand and he says hold still.
Prosecutors say two hikers nearby heard her screams and rushed to help.
One of them by the name of Sarah Bucksmom called 911.
There's a man trying to get her to the light all over her face.
You described seeing the defendant's eyes?
It's like a cold, emotionless stare.
Coneg testified that the attack continued until the hikers intervened.
She said her husband stopped when he realized others were there.
She was able to crawl away and get to help.
Doctors later treated her for severe head injuries, including deep lacerations to her
Doctors were shown the scars during testimony.
The defense claims the encounter was a fight and argues Coneg struck her husband first with
Prosecutors say the evidence shows an attempted killing.
The trial continues today.

An abandoned dog left tied to offense in the rain now has a new life after being rescued
by police in Washington state.
The dog now named Zeus was found in distress in Auburn after officers say he had been
tied to offense post and left outside for more than 24 hours in the rain.
They say officer McNabb responded to the call seeing the condition the dog was in stepping
in to help investigators say McNabb made sure Zeus got proper care and attention right
But what started as a rescue did not end there photo shared by the department show the
turning point in one the officer kneels beside Zeus as the dog rests on a padded bed.
In another Zeus sits buckled into the back of a patrol car ears up and alert a third
image shows him stretched out on the kitchen floor next to another dog already settling
into home life and a fourth shows him relaxed and resting a stark contrast to where he started.
Police say the officer formed a bond during the rescue process that connections led to
a decision that changed everything for Zeus.
The Auburn police department says officer McNabb adopted him.

Andrew Alex and Tanner skeleton were nine seven and five when they disappeared from
Marancy Michigan November 26th of 2010.
They've been spending Thanksgiving with their father John skeleton during a bitter custody
He was supposed to return them to their mother Tanya Zoovers that morning.
Zoovers got worried when she could not reach him.
She called police and Amber alert was issued but the boys were never found.
Investigators say John skeleton gave shifting stories at first he claimed the boys were
Later he said he gave them to a woman named Joanne to return them to their mother.
Authorities say that woman has never been verified and likely does not exist.
He also claimed at times the boys were with an underground group or even suggested they
were being kept safe and away from their mother.
Police say those claims were false.
Hours after the boys vanished skeleton was found at a hospital with an ankle injury after
what authorities say was a suicide attempt.
When investigators searched his home they found it into Saray.
The inside of the home was practically destroyed.
In 2011 skeleton pleaded no contest to three counts of unlawful imprisonment.
He was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison.
He's never been charged with their deaths but investigators have long said they believed
the boys were killed.
In March 2025 a Lanawi County judge ruled the brothers are legally dead with a presumed
date of death of November 26th 2015.
The judge said there was not enough proof to say how they died or who was responsible.
The case remains open.

His scars on his chin and near his hairline he'd be twenty two.
Tanner skeleton has strawberry blonde hair and brown eyes.
He was about three feet six and forty pounds.
Last seen wearing camouflage pajama pants and a scooby-doo shirt.
