You're listening to the John Cobalt podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
And I've got something here that nobody knows except us, well, maybe accept me.
You probably don't know.
And we've just posted it on all the social media platforms.
And it's a tip from one of our listeners that on Thursday, March 26th, there is a farewell
open house for the CEO of the DWP, Janice Kenonez.
Now an open house means anyone can go, right?
Are you going?
Uh, you know, I could go.
The thing is, anybody can go.
And it's at the John, it says the JFB, and I looked that up, that's the John Ferraro
building.
And that is part of the city government.
The A level auditorium, and it's Thursday, March 26th, from one to three in the afternoon.
So we could stop by and say, argobies, what are we going to bring to the, I was thinking
a hose.
Oh, that's a good one.
Janice Kenonez, if you don't know, is the idiot, the absolute idiot who left the Palisades
reservoir empty 117 million gallon reservoir was left empty during fire season.
And that's a big reason why the firefighters had very little water to put out the Palisades
fire.
117 million gallons.
This thing was bone dry and it was Janice Kenonez.
When she started getting named in and subpoenaed in the lawsuits, uh, then she stepped
down just a few weeks ago.
And March 26th is the Ferraro party.
Now can you believe after destroying the entire town of Pacific Palisades, the city is
giving her a party, Ferraro open house for our esteemed CEO.
Now how do you get esteemed when all you had to do was take a hose and fill up 117 million
gallon hole at and you didn't do it.
And the Palisades burned to the ground.
Not only that, she didn't turn off the electrical power to the Palisades.
And eventually 12 hours later that night, the flames caused power poles to fall, bringing
hot wires down below to the dry brush.
And that ignited more fire, which burned all the homes in that section of the Palisades
that hadn't burned yet.
She never turned the power off to the part of the Palisades that had not yet been consumed
with flames.
She then spent the next 15 months not speaking publicly except to a Prattle on about
Earth Day.
And occasionally she would appear on a podcast, well, actually that was mostly before she
took the job on how much she believes in diversity and equity.
And that's why she took the work with the DWP because she was so impressed with their
commitment to diversity and equity.
Honest to God and they have her in a photograph here where she's holding her, she's smiling,
she's looking off to the left with her hands folded as if she's emotionally touched by
something wonderful that someone just said to her.
Looks like her look is like, oh, well, thank you so much.
I don't think she's looking at the Palisades burning in that moment.
Wow.
So if since this is an open house, then I think everyone's invited.
Yeah.
John, for our building, the A level auditorium from one to three, are they actually going
to spend tax money for two hours and give her all kinds of, all kinds of praise and
acclimation?
Of course.
This is what they do.
Boy, if I was in the Palisades, I'd be putting busloads of people together.
I mean, how many gut punches can you people take?
How many times can they spit on you and kick you and insult you and just rub your face
in it?
Now they give Janice Kenyones a party.
How many of these people have been to the Palisades?
You know what?
All the employees that the DWP should have been forced to help clean up all the rubble to
help cart away all the remnants of everybody's home.
They should have been forced into doing hard labor, heavy labor during the day, and then
they should have been taken to prison at night.
And instead, they're going to have a party.
Wow, they're going to have food and drinks and speeches and just probably music, too,
like that.
John, you should give a speech.
Wouldn't that be wonderful?
That would.
God, it's just an appreciation for all she's done.
Well, an appreciation for having good content on your show.
Yes.
I know.
I know.
I'm just, you know, the lack of awareness, the lack of remorse, guilt, humility, it's
just incredible.
This I don't understand.
Maybe I grew up in a different time when you were kids, didn't people screw up this badly
kind of slunk away?
They got fired.
Yes.
They got fired.
They got fired and they took responsibility and they apologized.
And they got out, wow, that is, that is so insulting.
I mean, I was so stunned when I saw this and I, I can't tell people to be angry, but
if this doesn't make you angry, I don't know what you're made of.
I don't really understand how they're going to be partying, but DWP is going to throw
a big celebration to say goodbye to Janice Kenones.
There is no DWP leader who burned down an entire section of the city.
I mean, she, she was groundbreaking literally, wouldn't, wouldn't fill up a reservoir.
And then never spoke about it, never gave an interview, no apologies, no regrets, no
nothing.
Just a party.
Wow.
Anyway, Thursday, March 26th, the John Farrah building, that's one of the government buildings
downtown, a level auditorium from one to three.
And you could say your goodbyes to Janice Kenones, but you want to bet the cancel the thing
now.
You're listening to John Cobalt on demand from KFI AM640.
Hey, we got to get the moist line going for Friday, 877, moist 86, 877, moist 86 or usually
talk back feature on the I heart radio app.
And you could, maybe you can give your thoughts on the Janice Kenones going away party, which
apparently you're invited to because a listener tipped us off that there's a farewell.
And it looks like, it looks like this sign is a placard on an easel.
Maybe this is in a hallway in one of the government buildings, they just realized like this
is not, this is not a formally posted announcement, but this somebody took a took a picture of
this farewell open house for our esteemed CEO and chief engineer, Janice Kenones, yes,
crazy person who did not fill up the reservoir, the 170 million gallon reservoir in the
palisades and the palisades burned down.
Yes, this is the great mind.
And it's Thursday, March 26th at the John Ferraro building, the JFB, a level auditorium,
one to three o'clock.
And it says an open house.
I think the public can come, I don't see anything that says the public can't come and you
know, when they scheduled this, you know, this is government, right?
So in order to schedule a party for an employee on her way out, high profile employee, there's
got to be a lot of people in the mix because you got to clear the use of the space and
there's regulations on that.
And there's going to be food and drinks, those are going to be budget items.
And I'm sure we're paying for that, either the taxpayers or the ratepayers, right?
And people have to, well, you have to have employees or somebody's got a higher up catering
service, maybe.
And you just have to, you have to account for all the behind the scenes preparation.
It goes into putting on a major party for a major figure.
So how many employees are in on this?
How many people in management at City Hall on DWP are in in this where they said, oh, yeah,
this is a good idea.
I mean, the fire killed 12 people, 12 people, burned to death.
Or suffocated to death from the smoke, 12 of them, because of what she did.
In addition to the fire department, had led by that other genius, Kristen Crowley, did
not stick around to put out the original New Year's Day fire.
So I'm just thinking if I'm responsible for the deaths of 12 people, because I didn't
have enough sense to stick a hose into a hole in the ground.
God, would I feel a little embarrassed having a party that I'm leaving?
And she's only leaving because she botched that up and bass is running for reelection.
Bass is such a stubborn goat.
There was no way she was firing Kenonias, because Kenonias didn't, didn't criticize
bass.
She had no guts either.
Crowley had guts, at least, pointed out the truth, bass defunded the fire department
and flew off to Africa.
Kenonias kept her mouth shut, never spoke of the fire again, is that fascinating?
After you killed 12 people.
And then, you know, about almost 7,000 buildings were destroyed, over 6,000 homes.
And you just go silent, is that, is that in portage, do you think to have a party?
I mean, think of all the children whose childhoods were permanently damaged, whose psyches
were permanently scarred.
Things lost everything they own, too, right, the toys, they don't get to see their friends
anymore, their schools are gone.
Some of these kids will never see some of these friends ever again, everybody is scattered
all over the place.
Parents don't get to see their family, friends anymore.
And Genie's Kenonias is going to have a party.
Like how many kids couldn't have a birthday party last year, because the parents had to move
away, you know, maybe 10, 20 miles away, and you can't really get everyone together
anymore to have the birthday party at the local park in the palisades, right?
But Genie's Kenonias is going to have a party, wow.
And how many of those 12 deaths, you know, in these fires, they tend to be elderly people
where the grandmother's grandfathers, who aren't going to their grandkids parties, because
they died, because they burned or suffocated, but Genie's Kenonias gets a party.
And I'm thinking, nobody at the DWP, no adult at City Hall said, wow, that kind of makes
me sick thinking about it.
I got to pit my stomach.
I got to, I actually do have a pit my stomach thinking about this.
This is awful.
But she got some party and everybody signs up, yeah, yeah, I mean, somebody had to, somebody
had to put together this placard, they had to select the photo, they had to do some artwork
that framed the photo, they had to set the, the typeface for the copy, they had to get
the easel, the stand, put the placard on the stand.
And there's probably a lot of these, right?
And as people are walking by all these government workers, anybody looking go, we're giving
her a party?
Didn't she destroy the palisades because she was stupid?
I really, I, and I think that, that's really been lost because I, I know it is now that
it seems like virtually no one in government cares anymore.
They just don't.
And the few who do don't speak out anymore and they just, there's no guilt, there's
don't remorse at all.
It's like they've all become psychopaths and the psychopathic disease has spread to
the point where now everyone's comfortable putting on a going away party for a woman
who didn't have the sense to fill a hole in the ground with water.
And 12 people died.
And I'm going to keep repeating this, 7,000 plus buildings destroyed, 6,000 plus homes
destroyed.
And she gets a party.

And let's say nice things about her, because it doesn't matter.
We can't get fired and none of the politicians will lose re-election.
Nobody will suffer any consequences for this.
Karen Bass is leading in another poll.
Everything is just going to continue and we'll pretend this didn't happen.
Certainly, we are no one's taking responsibility here and nobody's sorry.
This is the worst psychopathic behavior, mass psychopathic behavior, which is a new
concept.
I didn't realize you could have entire government offices, entire government buildings.
The whole structure of LA government is psychopathic.
No remorse, no regret, no responsibility, we don't care.
Your house was destroyed, we don't care.
Your children's lives traumatized beyond all reason, we don't care.
You burned to a crisp, we don't care.
Choked to death on the smoke, we don't care.
We're having a party for Janice Gannonius, open house.
We come back, we're going to talk to, we're going to talk to Rick Scott.
He's a Florida state senator, a Republican.
He's leading the investigation into the Palisades fire.
He wants JD Vance to investigate maybe a whole lot of fraud because the federal government
gave the state of California a lot of money for wildfire prevention and they think maybe
it didn't go to wildfire prevention.
So we'll have Rick Scott on next.
You're listening to John Cobalt on demand from KFI AM640.
We're going to talk with Florida Senator Rick Scott.
He has been conducting a US Senate investigation along with Ron Johnson of Wisconsin into the
Palisades fire and he has announced publicly that he wants, he's asking Vice President JD
Vance to investigate if federal wildfire prevention money sent to California was spent
on something else other than wildfire prevention, mitigation and recovery efforts and we'll
see what the latest is on the specific Palisades investigation.
Let's get US Senator Rick Scott from Florida on, Republican.
How are you?
I'm great, we're going to get people to facts, we're going to find out what went wrong and
we're going to find out if anybody ought to be held accountable and we're going to do
everything we can to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Well, let's talk about the funding that you want, investigate it because Vice President
Vance has a task force looking into this sort of thing, the fraud that's going on all
over the country, but more in California than anywhere else.
What do you want him to do?
Yep.
So, as you know, Trump appointed JD Vance to look at fraud around the country.
So, I similar to Vice President Vance urging his anti-fraud task force to investigate
California's use of federal funds for wildfires and then they had wildfires.
So, what did they do with the money?
Because it sure didn't seem like they did anything to prevent wildfires.
And so, we're going to get to the bottom of it, I've asked for information from pretty
much, you know, all the agencies, Department of Ag, Homeland Security, Interior, DOT,
and Treasury just to get the facts.
So, we are working on getting all that information and then I'll be working to make sure Vice
President Vance is in it for our task force has it, so we can get to the bottom of this
and make sure one, we make sure there's no money wasted and two, if we're going to spend
money in California, we're going to spend it to do what we sent it for.
If we sent it for wildfire suppression, we're going to do it for wildfire suppression.
Well, they certainly didn't cut the brush in the palisades, that's for sure.
I mean, I saw some video in one of the documentaries that the brush looked like it was about 10 feet
high.
It didn't cut the brush and on top of that, they had a fire that they didn't put out
and left it smoldering.
Now, I'm not an expert firefighter, but every so often in the Everglades, if we have
a dry year, we'll have a few fires down there.
We do prescribe burn and we clean out our brush in Florida at the state level.
Now, the federal government, they don't have a lot of land, but they don't do it on
that, the federal land, but we do it.
But even with that, when I've seen the fires, they stay way after the fires over just
to be turned over the ground, doing everything they can to make sure it doesn't reignite.
What they did here is they left it smoldering and then that's ultimately what ends up
with the politics fire.
So we're going to find out why that happened, who made that decision, but my big focus
on with fighters and vases, all the federal money, unbelievable amount of money has gone
to California for a wild fire suppression, and where did it go?
Yeah, that's a question about a lot of categories of spending, many, many billions of dollars.
In the fire here, I mean, you know, there's a civil lawsuit by the residents of the
Palisades, and I've had the attorney Roger Bailey on one of the attorneys on several
times, and he's taken depositions, they've released some video and audio of the depositions,
and it seems nobody really has a clear answer.
Everybody said, well, I talked to this guy, I talked to this captain, this is, and the
this battalion chief, and they just, nobody was responsible.
He can remember who had a conversation with who about what?
Right.
Nobody, in government, nobody ever wants to be held accountable.
So I had, I had, for hurricanes, when I was governor of Florida, afterwards I, we had
after-action reports, I didn't even read them before they were released.
I just made sure that they were released, and then we changed.
Well, we've watched with this, it appears that the after-action report with the Palisades
fire, it was, how do you make sure Karen Bass looks like she was doing something, even
though she was in Africa at the time.
And so, and the, so we're going to get to the bottom of that, but it sure appears that,
you know, there's a cover up there, and people died, 12 people died, I got, what thousands
of people without homes, I've got, I've got-

Not cost survivor, Rachel Schwartz, who lost her home, Spencer Pratt has been very helpful.
He's shown me around what happened to his house, but I talked to a lot of people.
We did hearing out there with Ron Johnson and listening to victims, so we're going to
get to the bottom of this.
It's not like the city and the county and the state have been helpful, but so Gavin News
himself said he was going to, but then he didn't.
Yeah, well, that's a shock.
And the state's involvement in possibly chasing the LA firefighters off that original burn
site.
There's been a lot of accusations back and forth about that, that, you know, I don't get
it.
I mean, it's, and it's, you know, firefighters are good people.
They want to do their job.
And when politics gets involved, it's here and makes it very difficult for them to do
their jobs.
And that's what appears here is that some politics got involved in this instead of letting
the experts, the firefighters, figure out how to do it.
How long do you think your investigation on the cause and the cover-up will take?
When do you think we'll get some meaningful news out of it?
I know it's, it's not easy and you have a thousand other things going on there.
Well, it's pulled in teeth to get the mayor, the city council, the Department of Water
and Power, the fire department, parks and recreation, to tell us until we have to keep
asking and keep bugging them and keep calling them.
So we're going to get there.
It's, I don't, like, if it was me, I would just be transparent and say, you know what?
This is what we should've done better.
Here's what I learned.
Every hurricane, I was a better governor.
I learned something, everyone.
And so if I was carrying back, let's get the real facts so this never happens again.
I'll take, you know, and she should take responsibility that, you know, but she can
say, look, I've never been to a wildfire before.
I'm disappointed, state that they allowed this to happen.
But, you know, and we will, here's what we learned and here's what we're going to do
different.
So if people would be understanding.
If Vice President Vance takes up, takes up your request, then that's going to be a whole
separate investigation on to where the federal money's been going for these fire prevention
efforts.
That's a whole nother.
Absolutely.
Yep.
And we will turn over everything that we have.
So, accelerate his investigation.
All right.
US Senator Rick Scott from Florida, thank you for coming on with us.
And as soon as you find out something, please come back on the show and let us know.
Well, and Johnny, if you have any listeners that had any information out of follow up on,
just let me know.
All right.
We'll do.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks, John.
US Senator Rick Scott Republican from Florida is leading an investigation into the
Palisades fire.
And this week he asked J.D. Vance, the Vice President, who's in charge of an anti-fraud task force
for Trump to set his sights on potential fraud for all the federal money that was supposed
to come for wildfire prevention in this state.
Can you believe that the Bass and the Newsom offices not cooperating all that quickly?
All right.
Shocking, isn't it?

rides on the trains and the buses to see what's going on and here's the headline.
I rode on L.A.'s Metro.
It was a hellscape of disturbing acts, violence, and drugs.
I saw this morning when I go get my bagel every morning on Milster Boulevard, buses
go by and I saw two buses back to back and I thought, oh, what's this about?
The first bus was completely empty and I noticed it was flashing on its sign, training bus,
so they had a woman who oddly looked like Karen Bass, I'm not kidding.
I thought, oh, maybe she's training for her next career, that'd be a good move.
Let her drive the bus and deal with all the murderous vagrants that she's allowed to
roam free and then the second bus comes and it's the regular bus driver, excuse me,
and there's actually one passenger, one, so I saw two buses go by, total of one passenger.
And it's like this every morning, every morning, these big buses go by, there's almost
nobody on them.
And whoever's on them, I'd say 80% of the time, they're homeless vagrants and they're
just sitting dead eyed or unconscious and the bus is taking them up and down and up
and down for hours and hours.
It's ridiculous and I see, I'm thinking, how much money does this cost to provide day
care for people zonked out on heroin?
I mean, how much money do we spend?
And yeah, this is actually a longer article, I'm only going to have time to give you a
couple of highlights here.
Just give you a taste of it and then we'll talk more after Chad Bianco.
The crime has risen.
It was about 2700 incidents in 2019.
It was 4,300 incidents in 2025, 4,300, 286 aggravated assaults on buses and rail lines.
That's up 38% over a seven year period.
They flag the same problems over and over again.
People openly using drugs, smoking, drinking booze, beer, graffiti, harassment disorder.
This is what you get on many of the buses and trains and we pay for this too.
This is just fascinating what we pay for.
Over the course of the week, these California postwriters watched homeless passengers unraveling,
pacing the aisles while shouting or muttering to themselves.
Drug deals were conducted in the open.
Customers lighting up in public, filling the train cars with smoke and those train cars
are sealed.
So you know, if some guy starts lighting up a pot or meth or whatever, crack pipes clattered
across the floors, sour stench of sweat and urine that soaked the seats, you look upset.
Want to go on a train ride?
No.
We could do a live show from.
Can we cover it in plastic?
We got to wear the plastic.
Well, we'll wear plastic as well.
A woman pulled a knife during one ride, waved it in the air and then put the blade back
into a holster and continued on like nothing had happened.
Yeah, yeah, just in the mood for a few seconds, I say, hey, maybe I'll cut somebody's
threat.
I tease my mind.
Yeah.
I will have more on this later.
Chad Bianco, he's the Riverside County Sheriff.
He's running for governor.
He's in the top two in many polls, Republican.
And he has confiscated a very large number of ballots from the November election, 650,000
saying that he wants to investigate and see if these were fraudulently counted fraudulently,
the votes are fraudulately taken.
I'm not sure.
We'll see when he comes on.
