On Tuesday, September 8, Vancouver police were notified that homicide suspect, Mai E. Hinton, had surrendered to police in Tacoma and was currently in the Pierce County Jail. Hinton was wanted for the homicide of Berlin, Caitano, who was shot in Vancouver on April 18, 2026, while sitting in his vehicle in a parking lot in the 1100-800 block of Southeast Mill plain boulevard. Hinton was transported from Pierce County to Clark County by detectives from the Vancouver Police Department and was booked into the Clark County Jail for murder in a second degree, fire arm possession, and a fugitive warrant. Nothing additional is being released at this time.
