Welcome to your daily dose of hope.
0:02
I'm Phyllis Nichols and I'm glad you're here.
0:05
I'm going to talk today about hope and how hope lives in motion, in action.
0:13
Sometimes the hardest part when we're facing something difficult is not really the problem
0:18
Sometimes it's just the feeling of being stuck, of being uncertain, not knowing what to
0:24
And when we're overwhelmed like that or when we feel uncertain, a lot of times our minds
0:29
can just kind of start spinning and playing over the same, you know, worst case scenarios
0:37
And which isn't really helpful, doesn't really do anything to get us out of this unstuck
0:43
So I want to remind you that hope rarely appears when we're standing still, right?
0:49
When we're just sitting and spiraling.
0:52
Hope shows up when we take action.
0:54
And it'll definitely taking action, even a small step will help stop that worst case
1:00
scenario thinking that we can, you know, kind of keeps us obsessed and not feeling any
1:08
When we take action, it kind of tells our brain like, I'm not powerless here.
1:12
I have agency, I have options.
1:15
And it also reminds us that our story isn't already written, things aren't already
1:22
We don't have to solve every single thing today, but we do need to take a step forward.
1:27
And maybe that's just doing something like sending an email or doing some more research,
1:31
getting some more information.
1:34
Maybe it's about reaching out to a friend who's been supportive and getting their perspective
1:38
or asking for help from a professional.
1:42
Action creates momentum and it creates possibility and it gives us the ability to instead of
1:49
focusing on worst case scenarios, it gives us the ability to focus on what could truly
1:56
So if life feels stuck now and then just understand that hope isn't far away, it's right there
2:04
and it's going to meet you when you take even one tiny step forward and help break that
2:09
cycle of overwhelm and create momentum.
