The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima. I can't focus on the future. I gotta focus on now. You know, if I try to look ahead and I get distracted on, I focus on what I need to do now, then, you know, who knows about the future of my health. So all I can do is control these moments now, these opportunities I have now. Well, it's been great. He is really embraced. What we do offensively, I think for him, it's been, you know, brother fresh air, new life, new opportunity. Now, now we've all got to take advantage of it, same with myself, so I'm excited for him. I would hope that all of our players, including to Sean, that were speaking the same language, offense defense, special teams, and speaking the same language, terms of our expectations on a daily basis, a weekly basis, and how we're gonna play on Sunday. It's been a while since that Buffalo game, so out of your mind. Look, Buffalo games. Proceeds in the game. Oh, yeah, I mean, yeah, that's, I'm not worried about that. You know, we focus on now. You know, it's about what we got, what we can do now. So it's not about what we were about in the future. In the past, excuse me.

You know, we know what about 24, we know what about last show, we know plan, we know what about the preseason. Right now we gotta focus on Jason. This is Cleveland Sports Radio, 92-3 The FAM. Kill you. Let's go. Hi. Hello. You excited for football last night? Didn't seem like I was for about 10 minutes in the first corner. Man, okay, I gotta tell you. Then Sam Darnal was limping off. And it's pretty clear. Neither team was going to put up a bunch of points. And I'm like, yeah, I think it might be a good night to catch up on sleep. Have we reached again tomorrow night? Have we are we finally reaching that point with the sport? Because it was Wednesday and Owen said, you know what, I'm a little thrown off because I sit up and I'm going to watch the first three quarters. And now I got a game tonight. And I'm like, yeah, I felt the same way you did. And then it starts off with this whimper. It's a Wednesday. Everything's thrown off. And now you got this game in Australia,

which they're going to play at 10.30 in the morning out in Australia, which is only going to strengthen my argument later on by the way, which we'll get into pre-Formeric K joins us at 8.20 this morning. But I'm seeing this last night. I'm going, yeah, I know it's a super bowl rematch and fireworks are going off in the stadiums loud. And it's packed and I'm just like, yeah, it still feels like preseason. Something about a Wednesday, man. They have Pearl Jam guitarist before the game. And then during the national anthem, tornado warning came up. Betsy Kling was on my TV. And I said, okay, this is not going to threaten my area. So prayers to the people there. Let's get it over to peacock. We're nothing muddies up the screen. I'm sorry, Betsy. You're doing what you need to do. They got to do. But not to be alternatives. They have a responsibility. I did the same thing. I thought peacock at least gave me that the only problem I have with peacock is, you know, how sometimes there's that spot where they don't have commercials to play.

So they just play stick around. We'll be back to the game. The music they use for that is also the same music they use for a special report on NBC, which made me think something nationally was they play the John Williams music. It's that same orchestra. It doesn't get as hyped up in the middle, but it happens for like five seconds and definitely. Now I was around the phone and I looked up like, oh no, that has happened. That is to every generate up. What do you think? It probably just John do that. John's 24 when he hears that. Tenor, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, at the beginning of it, it's like, I got to stop whatever I'm doing to look at the TV. It is, it is a, it is a dinner bell. I think that might be serious is going on. Unfortunately, I wish that weren't the case, but that might be gone with, with people on his age, age range. I'm a big fan of the sports jingles. I like the autumn wind. Well, that's not a sports jingle.

That's a breaking news jingle. That's a, we just had a national tragedy jingle. That's twice, that's twice a week. But now you're breaking news. Do you have that Ohio State non-con? John coming up here in the next couple of years. Have that forth? I think John and his entire, that demographic is getting the news from TikTok or anything anyway. They don't get the theme song. My kids don't care unless the, if you're like for a severe thunderstorm warning or a tornado warning, your phone usually just pushes and you get the loud, blaring thing. My kids are like the fun didn't glare so. Yeah. If there's no jingle, how do I know it's important? You don't? I have to know it's important. I don't know if there's a draft pick unless I hear the dun dun dun dun dun. Dun dun dun. Like I don't know then. I can't tell you there's a draft pick. That was more interesting to me than what happened on the football field last night. It was, it was a snort test. We get honest. Actually, other than drink may, can't complete passes to a H.

That's why I was, that's why I was taken in by it. Which was incredible because last year he had the best deep ball accuracy in the NFL and last night he had two picked off. He had three total, but he had two of the, two of the downfield throws picked off. Also the last, the last two weeks Mike Vrable has looked like a football coach who has no answers and it's just mad at everybody because the last game that they had was against Cleveland in the preseason and he was mad at the entire game because of the lack of effort. Yeah. And ball, who'd wide receivers leaving the field in a boot. You had such an advantage when the other teams starting quarterback plays five plays and then gets a yank test to leave the field. And yeah, I guess you didn't really know if he was going to return or not. And that's the, you know, they said he was leaving the stadium or something. I got, I got him. Well, he had to go get an MRI. Apparently the news is good. The initial good news is good for Sam Darnold. I've made, we're talking hip injuries, hip injuries are very serious.

So that's, that's not good. And then of course Drew Locke comes in there and play, I thought played pretty admirably. What do you think? I played pretty well. And what I saw because I was in sleepy land. Well, what I woke up to pass on in all sleep. I did you pass out. I was out so quick. It was only a Wednesday. I can't, there might not have been any boost. Let me see your eyes. And I know there's definitely no last time. See, this is, this is the one argument I have. I've kind of quarreled with football, football fans. There's just different levels of football fandom. And one of the themes I think of the arguments that sometimes mean you get in or mean the football fans all over the place is that there is a pretty substantial number of football fans who will say all football is good football. Defends the struggle, good football. You know, greatest show on turf or what good football. Oh, this one was just a shootout good football. Oh, two backup quarterbacks, good football, it's football.

And last night people were willing to accept any football normally. But I will say the social media I woke up to today is a much people were admitting that it was bad football. It was bad football, which normally they don't. Normally it's a celebration of football no matter what. I think usually you find that in college. Like if people see 62, 61, they're, oh my goodness, like now ain't good football. I mean, I got a dig deeper. Maybe it is. Maybe the offenses are just that high powered, but usually there's issues here. And you got to dig a little deeper. And I think last night, I think you're right. I think people were excited to see like the NFL come back. And then it was just it popped. I can appreciate good defensive football when there are a ton of like tackle your sorry sacks, quarterback pressures. Yeah. Guys, you know, making plays, saving, you know, potential scores and things like that. Didn't feel like that was happening at all last night though. It felt like two teams that, you know, I mean, they hadn't played their starters all three preseason games or any preseason games for that matter.

And then also had two weeks off or three weeks off since the last time those guys played Bingo. You had almost 150 yards and 17 goodbye taken penalties as well. Like that's that's a pretty easy game. That can be pretty slow. I mean, that's what it was. It's a pretty easy game. Let me tell you why that is exactly why I'm telling you like I can't tell you about what's going to happen. I'm not going to tell you about what's going to happen like in week two or any week after that. Last night is the exact reason why it's like I absolutely I give it. I know what the odds say they say it in half. I say it's a 50 50 chance. I think it's a 50 50 proposition. I am as I am as in tune for a Brown's football game as I think I'm going to be all year. Well, I don't know week two is probably going to be a big one. So I but I'm pretty in tune with these first two weeks about how things are going to go. And I it's week one. You both of these teams lost week one last year. Both of them did. Maybe it's a Patriots thing where they just come out and play like absolute garbage in

week one every year. Maybe they'll set sail. I think that some people are going to look at as a Super Bowl hangover. I know the Drake May was terrible last night. Obviously, but going back to the Browns. I know the 13 and four. I know it Vegas is saying. And I don't think I'll sound like this every week. I mean, if they go out there and they get boat raised, I can't imagine I'm going to sound like this every week. And we're going to place them hilarious Ross Tucker audio coming up here to rod 624 Vegas. Things you're getting boat race. I understand one of the bigger lines of the weekends. I totally understand that. But I imagine, well, you know, the new England was coming off a bad record, but they had. They had the pieces that people might be excited about going into the last year against Vegas and week one. I but I do believe that week one tends to be a slot fest. I think last night was an indicator of that week one is a good thing for us. Yes. If you can come out and you can just eliminate first and 15, if you can eliminate second and 12 because of holds or holds. I mean, holds happen. If you can eliminate pre snap, if you can eliminate turnovers, like if you can run the ball

with any decency and calm down to Sean Watson, like, yeah, I think you can get a little sloppy and find a way to win this football game on Sunday. You're not favored for very good reasons. One team is better than the other and the Jacksonville Jaguars have a better quarterback situation. They have a more proven coaching situation. I don't know. Todd Munkin might end up being the golden god. We don't know yet. One coach has gone to the playoffs after a terrible introductory press conference has gone to the playoffs and has seemingly has turned the Jacksonville Jaguars around. They got a good defense. They got a good front four. They're good against the run. A lot of this stuff is obviously based on last year. There's a lot of reasons why if this were a week and I go, yeah, take the Jaguars, but I'm telling you right now, if you're going to take the Browns, I think this week's the week to take the Browns. And you could just say it, Browns, you money line or Ross Tucker and wake his ass up and tell him to call up. I'll tell him right to his face respectfully. I take the Browns with the points or I'm taking the Browns to win. Oh, you just got to take the win.

I don't gamble, but you want a new money line. I'll take the Browns to win. Now what is Ken? You bring it up. In the past, what has Ken said at this exact time before every game one? Because it's week one or wins to six wins to eight wins to last year. Oh, that was last year. Famously. And then the coach got fired. I'm going to watch week one. Well, I'm going to watch week one. I'm going to pick him to win week one. I'm going to watch week one. Now I can't imagine I'm going to pick him to win next week. If Ken, the reality will probably set in. I can't honestly, I can't imagine I'm going to win next week. I want to ask the fans. It's not a Ken Karmie question. Okay. Ken tells you every year at this exact time that the Browns are going to win the opener. Does he lose credibility with the fans? We've won some openers recently. We have. We actually have. But if Ken does this exact same thing every year, do you brush it off? Do you say, oh, well, it's just Ken being Ken or does it get you fired up? I'm asking the fans. I can't answer that question. I can't answer that question. I have no idea. Two, one, six, four, seven, four, double, ninety two.

Ken predicts the Browns to win week one every year. Does it mean anything? Does it get you pumped up? That's week one. I'm not picking him to win every week. I imagine your own thing now. But here's the thing. If they do win, I try to pick the win. No, I don't think I will. I don't know if I will. Yes, you will. 100%. Well, now you're going to make me pick against him. One, six, four, seven, four, double, ninety two. If the Browns actually do win week one, we'll Ken flip-flop and pick the Browns wouldn't week two. So a couple of questions out there for the fans this morning. I hate you dearly. All right. I'll pick up. I mean, if they win week one, I'll pick them to week win two. Hell yeah, well, I don't know if I might just do it out of spite to pick against them. If they win week one and week two, then why are we doing when they come home for the home opener? We're booing. You kidding me? It's a boot fast. It's a boot fast. We were ain't forgotten about that. What are you talking about? Yeah, you forgot about that. He brought it up at the beginning of the press conference, but then he later on forgot

about it. That's right. Yeah, we got our bright screwed on real tight, don't we? But we are fully confident in ourselves, aren't we, over there? I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm not wearing this one on Sunday afternoon and now I come to think of it. Well, make a case. That's what I, this is the, the great thing about all this. You always make a case. Ken, it's easy to do. Outside of there, just the Browns and it's, hey, I like the Browns. No, it's, it's, it's week one. And I think that your offensive line can probably not be any worse than what it was last year. I understand that you bring up with the Shudor fans that they weren't that, that, that, that, that, that, they still were one of the bottom groups in the NFL. And it's their first week together. So that's going to be pretty hard to make an argument for. Uh, damn it. Fire up the music. Get me going easily yesterday. What? During his eight minutes of speaking, Dishon Watson, he was asked about his seven and

O record against the Jacksonville Jacks. Eight no eight no. Oh, and said seven and no. He's all Marikero eight. No, they said seven and no. Okay. Well, you know, I mean, you heard it quite. I listened to it three times. As well as do it twice. I was doing yesterday afternoon. I heard it this morning with Jeff, but I wouldn't, I only read the what Mary David. All right. Even though those were different teams, let's hear he had the He was a different long or whatever at one point and then wrote a bus all the way to Jacksonville to play. It is amazing. The fall from the guy. I want a bat guy. That's what the guys gone. That guy's gone. He's never coming back. That bus went the speed limit the whole way there. Or they're just thinking caught. I don't know. Six forty three. Used to be a time where athletes would get away with speeding. That is not today. Well, if you're going, you know, again, if you're going 74 in a 60, I might be able to cut you a little bit of slack there. 86 is moving a little quickly. More on that at six forty three.

Damn it. All right. You want me to get the mic in the sky. All right. No, no, I'm going to wait. I'm going to wait to one six four seven four to below 90. I'm going to get to these guys here in a second and throw out the number. Throw out the question again to everybody. Do you remember what you asked everybody? Yeah, Ken picks the Browns to win every year at this exact time for the opener. Doesn't affect my credibility. Yes. Does it mean anything to you? Does it mean anything? Two one six four seven four to below 92. I want to see what you think. I'm not just going to I know with my heart. They can win. But I know with how I sound. It sounds like I'm saying that they can just get lucky. Two one six four seven four to below 92. That and if any police officers have a polygraph with them right about now or access to a polygraph right about now. 92 three. The fan may need your help. I'll explain a really Ross Tucker will coming up at six twenty four on the. I'm going to be there.

Well, I hear come the calls. Well, I asked in there and I shall receive. Actually, you asked a new shall receive because I was like, oh, I'm taking I'll take the Browns on Sunday. Yeah. Out one take the Browns. I want to know if that continues. I remember you see a frustrated when we started hosting this show. It became all Ken's going to pick the Browns every week. Anthony Anthony is going to pick against them. And so we were a new show and everybody started picking sides. And I think we know we're most people. Yeah, but they did not appreciate that I was telling people things that you were not telling them. Well, after a while though, like you can't it first off, I can't just do it as a gimmick. All right. What I do like about hosting with you and I'm not saying this just because you're in my presence. I've said this to people out and about and everything. Is that you tend to see things. I'm a dreamer. It's not like you're a dollar individual all the time. You can be optimistic about things, but I'm more of a dreamer. I tend to lose grip with reality by those dreams. And you tend to keep me honest with myself.

And so I have to think twice before I go shoot my mouth off about winning, going to the playoffs, winning 10 games in a season or anything like that. Because you're going to call me out and embarrass me. I would also tell you I was jealous because I was like, I want to get back to 21 year old Anthony. Well, that I'm into the muni lot and getting excited and being a rational me. Now I'm talking about me getting a rational about my team's chances to win again. It's not about be I know what you're I know what you're trying to protect against and I respect it. And I don't want to name names here. I know you're trying to not be a negative individual all the time. I think you're just trying to be a realist. And that's my issue is that I've taken your realism at times that I've just focused it on negativity. Why? Because usually the negative things have affected the Browns. But I don't think you go out of your way. Like you have a dump on the roster. You haven't said that this team is incapable of building anything. You've not said that once. You have not been negative about this roster. I've been way more I've been way more down about other Browns. But yes, of course, like there's been concerns.

And I think we've shared the same concerns. I don't know what the offensive lines going to look like right now. Because they haven't really played meaningful football with each other. Total mystery. But I'm kind of trending. I'm starting to buy into a Todd has had his time with them. Yeah. And you know, I know we already have an injury. But for some people that injury is already a good thing. Well, because I mean, I'll have Austin Barber possibly in. And I'm no offense to Tevin Jenkins. I'm not trying to be mean spirited. You're just not part of the future. Austin Barber has a chance to be a part of that future or maybe he doesn't. You know, we'll find out. But I have like Parker Brailsford could end up being put in by the end of the season. And hopefully you'll play well. My my concerns. It's not it. It's not a nastiness. My concerns are depth in the secondary. My concerns are depth at defensive tackle. My concern at edrusher. I should say really linebacker. I mean, my entire defense, my the front side of my defense. Looks pretty fine. It's just if if one, two or three of those guys go down, then I'm going to be in trouble. All right. Well, those guys aren't down right now. Like this is as healthy as we're going to be all year long.

So I'm getting ready for Jacksonville. And it's week one. We have tape on them calling plays. I mean, Liam Collins said it yesterday in his press conference is like, they got tape all over the place of me. Like I know that Todd Munkett has called offense before, but this is a new team. I don't he's like, and I also have nothing on Mike Rootenberg calling plays at all. So they got a whole year of tape on me calling plays for my offense, where I don't have anything on them with their defense. So now I have and I look at the history of week one. And I'm like, hey, if you're going to give them a puncture's chance, like they can go out there and get throttled in history. If you want to get into the history, usually our first games with our new coaches don't end up very well. I mean, we went to the playoffs twice with Kevin's to fansky. And week one was an out and out disaster. I mean, Jamie Gillen got, got boat race to the end zone. They ended up losing like 37, 7 or 30 to 7 or something like that. It was so bad. Like you can lose history there and say, yeah, we can we can go out and get throttled. Can yeah, it's week one. The Scottish hammer. But I look at what we have.

And I'm thinking, all right, if you are bullish on the Browns, this is as good a chance as you're ever going to have to be bullish on the Browns. So like those who are like saying, we can win 10 games, we can win 11 games. And Ross Tucker will certainly knock that down very quickly. Okay, but you're going to have a very good chance of being on your way, or you believe you're on your way to being right about that after Sunday afternoon. This is as healthy as we're going to be. This is as good as we're going to be. I don't know about the quarterback position. That's a tremendous question mark and kind of a downside point to everything. But this is as good as it's going to get. So yeah, week one, I have, I, I solemnly swear. I will not say anything that will lead me to week two against Tampa Bay and everything that then will be on tape, but I'm only can go, I can only go week to week right now. And I'm going to week one and I'm like, yeah, I'm going to take the Browns. I'll take the Browns. And you wanted to know if I pick them to win week one every year, do I lose that credibility?

Well, let's go to the phones. Mike and Akron, hello, Mike. Good morning. Good morning, Mike. Hey, I just think we should cut Ken from grace here. I've been on Browns fan for over 60 years. And I have not gone into one game, not thinking that they might be able to win. And that includes when they went on 17. That's being a Browns fan. That's not about credibility. That's about being a Cleveland Browns fan. That's fair. I like that, Mike. Thank you very much for the call. Okay. I got one for me. Jim and Syracuse, do Yorkies listening on the free Odyssey? Apollo, Jim. Yeah, Mike's an illusion. And you're crazy as well. So I, the Browns are going to start on three. If, if the Sean Watson goes 17 for 24 with two touchdowns on Sunday, the Browns win, I will come to the studio and shine your shoes.

Well, now that sounds like a hell of an idea. I think Jim just hung up, but I would like that to happen. Syracuse is six and a half hour drive. Not asking that guy a drive section. No, he could just, he could just send me something. Fine. I'm not going to ask him to actually come. He's been here. Would say what? I'm not driving out the eerie to get my shoe shine. I've never had my shoe shines before. I don't know how long do they take. I'm not going out there. That I got to find one of those chairs. We got one down here in the basement of this building. I got to go to eerie and find one of them. The chairs. I mean, in a week, there could be the lake effects snow already. That's how quickly it happens. Well, he was on Watson. I wanted to ask him. He was on Watson. They're showing the replay right now. The AJ Brown injury by the way up there. Doesn't look great. He left in a boot, right? Yeah. I understand what he says about Watson. You can go to the free audacity. You can actually use the rewind feature, which is brought to you by Integrated Restoration. You can look at experts in Water Firestorm Disaster Restoration. 632 and 21 seconds for those scoring at home.

He said at the end of it yesterday, because it starts to hit after the Todd Munkin interview that we had the other day, where he's like, yeah, me and Deshan, we talked about it. And he said his sorry's and we're moving on and I'm going. Yeah, I know you say that, but this is actually where fans have a lot of power, because you have to take the fans' thoughts into consideration. Because he's that preoccupied with the fans. You have an eight quarter audition. If he can't get anything done in the next eight quarters, he has Jim and Cierce has zero belief that Deshan Watts is going to get it done. And I think very few people have any belief that he's going to be able to get it done. He has eight quarters to prove everybody wrong. And then to try to get people on his side when he comes home. If they're O and two and he's played like garbage, you can't start him. Why? Because he's in his own head about the fans. So the fans are the ones who hold the power here on whether or not he starts against Carolina. I know that a lot of people are down because he's starting against Jacksonville. More than likely, he's starting against Tampa Bay, but it is in their hands. If he goes out there and he plays poorly, they will make the decision, I think, for Todd Munkin. Yeah, what a wild week that would be too. Thinking about what are they going to do with Deshan Watts and the excitement about Shudor,

then the Shudor fans are back engaged and everything. Exactly. And who do they play? You know, that week at home at the whole moment. Carolina and then they got, they got a Pittsburgh at home on that Thursday night. So it's a turnaround. Right. And the reason I bring, like I know before the season is I'm going, hey, Todd can't worry about our opinion. He can't worry about our opinion. He's, he's owes it to the 53. And it's still true. You owe it to the 53. If I think my quarterback is going to be in his own head because of everybody else around him at home, he doesn't get my team the best chance to win. So I got to look at somebody else. Well, what percentage of our fan base thinks he gives them the best chance to win now? Very, very little. Very little. I know there are people that aren't in on Shudor either. They're both quarterbacks. Yeah, but they can still only go by what they see. But at least, what they saw was absolute garbage. Yeah, at least, at least I think there's always, there's hope that you could go vertical that you could throw the football down the field. When Zack Jackson came on yesterday and said there's nothing that he does to challenge a defense right now, a professional defense, I think that has people going, oh man, what is the point? It's true.

Mark and Wycliffe, you're next up on the fan. Hello, Mark. Good morning, gentlemen. Sam, you lost all credibility a couple years ago when you guaranteed those elementary school kids a win against the Raiders. No. And I lost money on them. I took your word for it. Well, I have to have you lose money on them. I have not a child. I care. I have not stewed finance. I feel bad about those kindergarteners. Can you tell us how badly you went into debt? I told I was going all in with $100. You told me I was crazy. That's all I got for the Browns. That's it. Well, in that way, Sam, if you vote a certain way based on last night, you could get five grand. Okay. We're moving on. Thank you very much, Mark. I appreciate the call. Those kids are in second grade now. Oh, man. You think their parents ever remind them? That's the cradle, man. I know. That was Sheffield, right? Sheffield, that kindergarten teacher called me live and had the kids yelling in the... Yeah, that was out of Brookside and that kindergarten... For all the people who have just joined us two years ago, I had a kindergarten teacher call me live from her school room, her classroom, and all the kids...

It's basically an episode of the office with Scott's tots. And I got gilted in a guaranteeing a Browns victory to the kids. And then they went out and lost. And I got blamed for it somehow. Of the Browns ineptitude. You get caught up in the moment. I get it. It happens. Do I ever do that? Are there going to be other teachers that call in with their kids and make me guarantee Browns victories in the future? That is a vivid memory. How could you not remember it? I remember the feeling I had after they lost. I felt I let all those poor kids down. It's like if Babe Ruth didn't hit the second home run. Who the hell knows what would happen. Why do I need a polygraph? I will tell you why we need a polygraph. Because we are inundated with calls of people who want to attack my credibility over taking the Frats week one. I'm sorry. I promise you. In five minutes, I will explain to you why I need a fine officer of the law out there to bring us in a polygraph as soon as possible.

Can Carmen Antirelima and call in each other out with guests in five minutes on the fan? Guys, do you want Ken to guarantee a win for the Cleveland Browns? Yeah. You. Saddie, Heather. You guarantee a win. You. Nobody else. You. You. You can. We need to hear it. Right now. Five-year-old. Let's go. I can't turn down the key. Let's go. I guarantee a win. I guarantee they're going to be the Raiders. They didn't beat the Raiders. Should I remember anything about that game? What? Should I remember anything about that game? How could you forget I guarantee they beat the Raiders and then they lost and now a generation of children. If things go the way they're supposed to go, I'll have a generation of kids coming up to me on the West side going, you know, I was in that class years ago and you guarantee this. That'd be nice.

I'm not guaranteeing a victory on Sunday. I'm picking the Browns to win. I got five wins for the season. Lime of UF4. I pick Sunday is one of the five wins that we have. Four is so few. Yeah, I know. I didn't say it was going to be a good year. I'm also not saying that this is a totally, like I yelled about this a couple weeks ago. It's not all or nothing, guys. Like I can be building towards something. And there's been times where they have absolutely built towards nothing. And yet there's a lot of stuff here. But if you would have gave it, if you would have given up on Watts, and a lot of people would have been happy for the right now, I think we would be very nervous about the future because we're trying to make this a good landing spot for a young QB next year. And I can enjoy some of this this year, though. I know that this year is about next year, but it doesn't mean I can't stop and smell the roses every now and then. And I think that Sunday's the day that we smell the roses, which is interesting because I mean, I got to take aim at somebody else and I hate to do it because I like him. And I think they're entertaining to me.

But when I'm saying five wins and you're saying four wins, and then we're getting accused of negativity, I'm like, well, wait a minute. Who's the one who's ripping Todd munkin' up and down and asking people if it's a one and done every year or every day? And saying that they don't trust and Todd anymore. It's taking a big hit because of the Watts and stuff. And they can't think anything of redeeming about the Sean Watson. But somehow they have eight wins. One of the words of them show your work. Well, this issue got brought up with Ross Tucker yesterday. And well, this is where I think we need some people from the fine police officers, the police departments around here to possibly give us a polygraph test to make sure everything's on the up and up. Because Ross Tucker thinks it's something stinks. I have the Browns at eight and nine and I have the Steelers at seven and ten at finishing last place in this division. Which one is the hotter take Ross? I do not believe in your heart of hearts that you think the Browns are winning eight games this year.

I don't believe you. How do you like it? You know what we should do on the show? You know what really get good ratings? Let's bring in a retired FBI guy or a cop and have them bring in a polygraph, a lie detector, a lie detector. And why is it you guys want to tell me? I'm telling you now, Nick Nick will do video. He walks your video to social media, so your social media can go viral. That was all viral. You're saying on the air that you truly believe with all your heart, the Browns are going to win eight games while you're taking a polygraph. That I will watch. Well, if you were asked to justify it during it, you couldn't do it. You couldn't do it. it. I mean, who's been nastier towards the Bronx here over the last couple of months? Has it been me or Nick? I don't think you've been nasty. So you think Nick has been nastier. Yeah. Okay. How depends. Three more wins than me and four more wins than you. And he's been way meaner spirited towards the Cleveland Browse than either of us. I think

he's been more nasty towards ownership and Deshan Watson. Well, I'm sorry. Jimmy Haslamate playing quarterback on Sunday, but guess who is? And he ain't had anything good to say about that fellow. Now, has he? So where do you get a wins? We're going to save ourselves with Shunor Sanders. A guy we didn't want to take. Well, that was that was the map that Ross obviously ended up walking him through, which is the same thing that I had put together. Like, all right, if they start out, oh, and two, now all of a sudden, they're going to roll off now the schedule. We have all said schedule is supposed to be one of the easiest in football. If you just look at the teams and base it on last year, which we know is kind of a fool's errand. These teams, some of them fluctuate from year to year. That's a hallmark of the NFL. But I do think Nick believes it. I do. I agree with Jonathan. Like if he actually had to stand up to the test, then I do think he passed it. I do think he really believes they're going to win it. I think a lot of it has to do with he's a big belief. He's become a big believer. Thanks to Jonathan. It's kind of talked him into

Shadour Sanders. Probably Shadour is not starting the year. So what does it look like the first two? That means they got to get Dishon out of there in a hurry for them to get to the eight wins because he believes Shadour is that much better. So now we have to catch up with our schedule and Shadour is going to fix things and take us to eight wins. Okay. Are they watching quarterbacks then for next year? Because if Shadour takes you to eight wins, with a roster that is incomplete, then forget about any of that other stuff. See that's, again, you just keep running into walls here about the logic of eight wins. Like five wins, five wins. I can find you five wins. I really can't find you many more. And I got Jacksonville on Sunday. So when I hear Ross say that, I start laughing my ass off because I'm like, yeah, Ross is kind of saying what we've been wondering here over the last several months. I I've been able to really pin down a number. I think it's fluctuated between seven and 10. Well, here's staying to 10 or staying to eight wins. I still it's hard to find it to get to eight. The offensive line. It really has to be one of the great comeback stories. Yes, it

does. That I can remember for a Brown steam and for most offensive lines to overhaul the entire thing. And now already because of the injury, you know, you've got a young guy that is going to be thrust into a situation where, you know, what do you think Jacksonville, their defensive line is thinking right now? I mean, they think that they probably think they are going to be able to feast in his opener. But one thing that that we know has to be true, the offensive line has to have a big turnaround because regardless of how you feel about the Shawn Watson or Shedor, and what the gap is between them or how much how much better you think Shedor is, Shedor is not going to succeed if the offensive line stinks. It's not happy. He's not good enough. He's not good enough. I mean, we saw over the over time, Patrick Mahomes struggle with a bad offensive line. Like that, that's how it normally works for quarterbacks in this league. So if Patrick Mahomes struggles when the offensive line goes south, what are our quarterbacks going to I think it's going to be a good yes, I think it's going to be a bit of a struggle. Like if we were

on sports talk radio in Jacksonville, which is not something I would want to do. But if you're like if we were hosted on 92 five in Jacksonville, we'd be going, man, this this front four that's been great against the run. We're going to be able to stop them and Shawn Watson's afraid of his own shadow. We're going to get after Shawn Watson. Like I think Jack, I think people in Jacksonville would say that my reasoning is probably flawed just based on dumb luck a week, a week one. I can admit that. Oh, we got Nick here. Oh, Nick. He's on the Y start right. We make it right. Call Kyle right. Hotline Nick Wilson. Good morning. Top of the morning, boys, when did eight and nine become 14 and three for the love of Christ? Like the brides. I mean, for the love of God, you guys are like that like you guys are acting like eight and nine is some hallmark moment for the browns this year. I mean, the Vikings had the third worst quarterback play in the NFL last year and they were eight and nine, the panthers or the playoffs. What'd you say? That I'm working with team than we have right now. And listen, if you want to say the browns have too many ifs,

I can't really fight you on that. But I just feel like we're I feel like somehow saying eight and nine is like I'm out here like my like several of my are listeners that say, you know, 12 and five and we're going to the playoffs. I feel like I feel like I'm kind of middle of the road here. That's it. Nine point. You remind me of the year that I said that they would win five games and they won zero coming off a one and 15 in our first call was I think Scott Mayfield who said I was the biggest home or in Cleveland history. I go, how am I a home or for one in five games? So I know where you're at on this. I totally do. But Nick, when I hear you're ripping and I feel the same way about the quarterback for the most part that you do. I feel the same way about the decision, even though I support him in the decision because they see things that I don't. There's so many things that I have to agree with you on. And I'm like, I'm sorry. How does Nick see eight wins? Because if you do see eight wins and we might as well just tear up these these conversations about 2027's quarterbacks. Because I think that this is such an incomplete team that can still build. There

is some good. There's good players that are young. But if if Shadore comes in and takes you to eight wins, let's like, hey, forget it because you're going to end the season on a very positive note than where you started off. I don't think you have to choose between being competitive and getting the quarterback next year. I mean, the chiefs were picking in the 20s and traded up to the 10th pick to get that my homes. Okay. As the bills were picking, I think in the 20s and traded up to get Josh Allen. I understand that the easiest way to think about this is you suck for luck, right? You end up getting the the best quarterback. But even that doesn't work. Bryce Young was the number one pick in the draft and let's ask our panthers friends how that's working out. And listen, again, I understand the ifs are there. I think the ifs that really need to work out are. I think you need to vote around the ball. I think the offensive line needs to stay healthy, which I think. I know it's five guys instead of four. The Bears and the Patriots showed you overhauling the offensive line can happen in one off season. And then that defense just needs to not take a massive step back.

I think that the events given for the little step back because you have the cup cake of cup cake cities for your schedule this year. Well, I want to see what they do with the come when it comes to zoning man because I don't think you can play nearly as much man without miles. Garrett is you having the past and I according to grad Delva yesterday, they still plan on playing plenty of man. I will see on Sunday. But let me go back to something here. What you said is right. I've used that same argument to I agree with you. Chiefs didn't have to tank for Patrick homes, bills didn't tank for Josh on. I get that. Now they both had older quarterbacks. So does that mean if this Browns team that again, we'll probably be back loaded with wins. If should or Sanders is coming in. Are you willing to dig that trench and stand in there and fight Browns fans coming up this winner? If they do finish it eight nine after a young quarterback has come in and taken them to eight wins because I don't think I would a lot of people don't think that the Sean Watts is going to get him any wins. I do think they're going to get him one win on Sunday. Okay. So seven more wins at what I'm what I'm saying with the Sean Watts and seven wins in the set in the back half of the year.

Are you willing to fight against those fans that want to give Shadora chance with that bad off with that unproven offensive line, the unprovenness of the wide receivers and everything else. The questions on defense. Are you willing to fight those fans this winner to take that quarterback out of college? I think you know Ken that at no point am I not willing to fight. I don't need anything. I hope you are. It'll be a long winner. It'll be a real kick in the pants that I go from the rallying cry of we can do eight nine. We can do eight nine two. Yeah, bleep that quarterback. Let's keep Shadora here and let's go ahead and trade up for Jeremiah Smith. I'm I'm ready for those wars even if even if it's going to come at a great personal cost. Nancy in the pants. All right, Nick. Well, you know what? The challenge is out there. You responded to it. I thank you very much. I hope you do it this afternoon. Appreciate you guys. Appreciate you. Nick Wilson on the Wise Heart right. We make a right call call right hotline. Speaking of miles Garrett, by the way, he may be gone, but a spirit lives on

on the highways and byways in Northeast Ohio.
