Victor Wembanyama had another dominating performance last night and DP makes a case for him to be legitimately considered for the NBA MVP Award this season. And there is controversy at the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament where UCONN continues its dominance.

Now it's six and a half.
Nebraska.
It was one and a half against Iowa.
Still one and a half that they're favored.
Arizona was favored by eight and a half yesterday against Arkansas.
Now seven and a half Houston was favored by two and a half.
Now it's three and a half against Illinois and Michigan against Alabama.
Michigan was favored by ten and a half yesterday.
Now it's nine and a half also the odds to win the tournament.
Arizona is a slight favorite over Michigan.
Then it's Duke and then it drops down to Houston.
Then it drops down even further to Purdue.
Illinois.
Iowa State.
Yukon surprisingly is what eighth on this list.
But Arizona and Michigan.
Duke in there and then Houston at plus seven hundred.
Then Purdue plus thirteen hundred.
Illinois plus fourteen hundred Iowa State plus seventeen hundred.

Iowa Alabama and Texas.

If you listen to the program, you know what I think of Victor.
When Benyama that if he doesn't win the MVP this year,
it's going to be his next year because this is a coming out party.
He was a curiosity and then I wanted to see him with a good point guard.
I wanted to see him kind of figure out.
He knew how to play defense.
I wanted to see if he knew how to play offense where to kind of find his spots.
Well, he's finding his spots now.
And he's making a case a late run for MVP.
Now I've been pretty staunch supporter of SGA that he is going to get the MVP.
I don't think he's the best player in the game.
But it's not always given to the best player in the game.
You have to decide whatever your definition of value is.
Do I think okay see as a playoff team without SGA?
I do.
Now is that fair to him?
Is San Antonio a playoff team without when Benyama?
I don't think they are.
Jalen Brown quietly carried the Celtics while Jason Tatum was out.
I still think Joker is the best player in the game.
He's a statistical anomaly.
But this is where it becomes a little bit more of okay.
People want to know this guy play defense.
Does that guy play defense?
Jalen Brunson.
Does he play defense?
No.
I don't know if Kade Gunningham plays defense.
I don't know if SGA plays defense.
I know Victor Benyama plays defense.
And when you think about it, he's going to be the defensive player of the year.
So at one end of the floor, he's the best player in the game.
No doubt.
Best player in the game.
How much does that count?
How much does that matter to voters?
It seems to matter when we want to vote against somebody.
When you say yeah, but he doesn't play any defense.
Okay.
Now you've got a guy who's the best defensive player in the game who is going to give you
you know, 22 and 12 and three or four blocks every single night.
So at the other end, he's still very high level.
Last night, Benyama had 26, 15 and five blocks.
So over the last three years, there have been 11 games in the NBA where a player has had those numbers.
Wembee has six of the 11 games.
Anthony Davis is the only player with more than one.
This is the status of the day brought to you by Panini America, the official trading cards of the program.
But I want you to listen to Victor Wembee and Yama after the game last night.
And I want to remind you that he's only 22 years of age.
But listen to, he's just kind of matter of fact, pragmatic, just like pay.
Should I be the MVP?
Here's Victor Wembee and Yama.
My first one would be that defense is 50% of the game and that is under value.
So far in the MVP race because I believe I'm the most impactful player defensively in the league.
The second argument would be, we almost swept OKC in the season and we dominated him.
Three times with their real team and four times with their.
My third argument would be that offense impact is not just for us.
It just matter of fact.
Now I will say if LeBron had said something like this, you know, the media would be crushing him.
But he's 22, he's stating his case and he's right.
They won 22 of their last 24.
They are a real force in the West.
They're a real force to be able to play for a championship.
And if you watch them the previous years, they weren't a very good team.
But he's finding his spots.
He's he can shoot a three, he can take it to the hoop.
He worked out with Jamal Crawford who had one of the better handles in the history of the NBA.
So Wembee in the off season worked with Jamal Crawford because he wanted to a seven five guy wanted to improve his handle.
And he has.
But then you have him at the other end.
He can guard the three and he can guard the rim.
And he doesn't have to take more than a couple of steps.
He is truly unique.
And he's only 22 years of age.
So when we start to equate value.
That's where it's open to interpretation.
Is he the best player in the game?
No, is the most unique player in the game?
Yes.
Is he going to be the best player in the game?
Yes.
He's a late push for Luca Doncic.
Now he's leading and scoring.
I understand that.
The Lakers have played well.
They lost last night.
But how much do I give credence to he doesn't play defense?
If Wembee is an A plus on the defensive end.
And let's say he's an A minus on the offensive end.
Does anybody match up with those grades?
And the answer is nobody.
And if I look at what his team has done.
More importantly, we tend to look if the Spurs had the best record in the West.
Wembee would win the MVP.
But should it be that?
His team isn't as good as OKC.
But his value.
Look at what they've done.
Now it's not a, oh, you got to see the Spurs.
They're a curiosity.
Now it's like, OKC doesn't want San Antonio.
They're going to do their best to avoid.
Because Wembee can't wait to play against Chad Honger.
And that's another thing that I love.
You know what happened at the All-Star game?
Wembee cared.
And the other players started to care.
I love the enthusiasm.
And it matters.
He cares.
He plays hard.
Like these are all the things you want.
And he wasn't cocky.
He was just, let me lay this out to you.
In case you haven't thought of this.
And make a case.
He's not going to win the MVP.
But he should be finishing second.
And he's only 22, which is remarkable.
When you look at the skill of any player.
If he was six, I mean, he's Kevin Durant plus seven inches.
And that the other end, he's the best defensive player in the game.
Now, Katie obviously a better offensive player.
But not for much longer.
Because once Wembee starts hitting the mid-range jumper,
he can shoot a three and he can go to the hole.
You're going to have to pick your poison with him.
Because he'll make you pay.
You're going to let me shoot the three.
You're going to let me drive to the hoop.
Or you're going to give me that mid-range jumper.
And if I'm Wembee, I'd be pounding that mid-range jumper.
I'd make you pay.
Because then, once you come out, I'm going by you.
And then the defensive end.
It's remarkable to watch him.
He can cover both sides of the lane.
He can go out to the three.
He can guard the rim.
Yeah, Paul.
He had a block last night where the guy beat him
and was going for a reverse layup.
He was on the back side of the rim,
reached across the net and blocked it from the back side.
It was freaky.
It's remarkable.
And you have to go out of your way to sometimes find the spurs
when they're playing in OKC for that matter to be fair to SGA.
But with Wembee, it's such...
I mean, you're watching history.
And look, I've been around this game for almost 60 years.
Like, this is truly, truly unique with what we're seeing.
But there are other players that I thought could be like this.
I thought Ralph Samson could be like this.
I thought Sean Bradley could be like this.
Guys who were that tall, build, could run,
and they had great touch.
This is different.
This is unique.
Now, you know, we talk about people changing the game.
Steph Curry changed the game more than any other player in history.
Well, you can be Steph Curry because he's 6263.
Like, you can go out there and go, I can shoot that shot.
You can't be seven five.
So, you know, they had the campaign to be like Mike.
Well, nobody could be like Mike.
But we would like to be like Mike.
We can be like Steph Curry in our mind.
We can't be like Wembee.
Yeah, Paul.
Maybe Wembe Nyama changes your game
because you have to play defense completely differently on him.
Your offense, you can't take normal jumpers.
And I was looking how he's finishing the season.
In the month of March, he's up to 27 points per game.
He's up to 12 rebounds.
He's up to four blocks.
Though he's having his best month of his season right now.
And this is what, I mean, this has to count
for something a little bit more.
You know, this is getting ready for playoff position.
You've won 22 to 24.
Now, OK, C is 112 in a row.
SGA gives you a 20 a night.
And maybe it's not fair to him.
He's not exciting.
He's a great closer.
But he's known for what?
Drawing fouls.
That's the first thing you think of.
Oh, he's really good at drawing fouls,
which I don't have a problem with.
I think NBA officials have to relearn how to officiate today's game.
Because you can call holding and past interference
on just about every play in the NFL.
You have to decide how often you're going to call it.
It's not there isn't a penalty.
It's, do you want to call that?
And in the NBA, and this is the death of the NBA some nights,
where you're watching and it's forever.
We watch this in March madness.
Like there are games where you go,
God, how long is this?
Is this the same game we've been watching?
It's, I think the officials got to relearn on what they're looking for
and what you're going to call.
Because if I'm SGA, just like James Hardin,
can I get away with this?
I'm going to continue to do it.
All the great players, and even the players who aren't great,
they try to get away with this.
But if I can push off, you're not going to call it.
If I can draw fouls, you're going to call those.
I go to the line.
You're going to continue to do it.
But I think it's incumbent upon the commissioner and the officials
to look at the game and decide how you want to call this game.
Because there's nothing better than when the game flows.
Where it's back and forth and back and forth, it's, you know,
it's not tweet, tweet.
Nobody wants to see that.
But when be, I want to see him in person.
Yeah, Mark.
Is there a stat for shots altered?
Because it's almost like Max Crosby with a hurries.
Like, you know what?
He might win defensive player of the year just off of the shots that he alters.
Never mind the shots that he actually blocks.
Because he makes you think twice about even putting up a three point.
Right.
I'm sure that they have stats on that of affecting a shot.
But when you think about it, there's only one other player in the NBA.
When you think defense, you think this guy and it's Rudy Gobert.
But that's all he does.
And he is nowhere near in the area code of Victor Wimbanyama.
Rudy Gobert is going to the Hall of Fame because he has four defensive player of the year
awards.
He will be a Hall of Famer.
Wembee is going to do that.
And then everything he does on the offensive end.
Yes, Mark.
I'll go back to the Olympics.
Rudy Gobert was not on the floor for the US versus France in the gold medal game.
Yeah.
And you're the defensive player of the year four times.
Remember, Wembee was supposed to win defense player of the year as a rookie.
He should have.
He should have.
Absolutely.
But sometimes, you know, people get into this.
Oh, yeah.
I'll vote for him.
And I'll vote for him.
And we don't talk about defense.
Now, look at these points in the NBA.
Like, you're getting 130 in your losing games.
But you've got a guy who cares about playing defense.
Who plays it at a very high level, no pun intended.
And that has to be factored into the MVP.
I don't know if it will.
And once again, I think SGA is going to win.
They've been the best team defending champs.
He's consistent.
He scores 20 a night.
But they're the best team.
Yes, Mark.
And if the spurs and the thunder meet in the playoffs, if SGA wins the MVP award over Wembee,
you think he hated OKC before.
He's going to go nuclear on OKC in the playoffs if he sees them.
Yeah.
I mean, this is a rivalry.
It's a true rivalry.
And you could hear him.
He said, hey, look, we beat them when they had their lineup.
We beat them three times.
I like it.
But at 22, I know we love this story.
And I always go back to how would the media have treated LeBron at 22 if he said, you know?
I'm the best player.
This is what I do.
Nobody does what I do.
I know there's only 10 games remaining.
Thunder 57 wins.
Spurs have 54 wins.
If somehow the spurs steal the one seed in the east, how much would that affect the MVP voting?
It's possible.
It's striking difference.
Well, yeah, it's possible.
It's three games.
But OKC is not losing.
Now, they're back to full strength.
It feels like.
But if the spurs maintain this, I mean, this might be one of those 10 years from now we look back and say, wait, why didn't Wemby win it that year?
I mean, it might be that way.
But it's fun to watch.
It's fun to watch the growth that you see of.
You know, he was kind of not awkward because he had a flow to his game or rhythm to his game.
But he didn't know where to stand in the NBA.
He was getting roughed up, knocked out of the paint, and then he finally got a point guard and he positioned him.
Yes, he can.
I imagine, yeah, that watching Wemby right now is similar to what it must have been like to see Walt Chamberlain play.
You like, well, there's one dude out here that is just totally different level.
Yes.
All right, let me take a break.
I know I get carried away.
I have a friend who's a Boston Celtic fan.
He's already, you know, responding to me.
Oh, here we go with the Wemby love.

This is Rathie W. Kia from a really good cry.
I absolutely love getting outside, whether it's a quick walk or a mindful few steps between meetings,
or even a longer run to just clear my head.
But the one thing that can really ruin that for me is shoes that just don't feel right.
That's why I started wearing ultra running.
With the ultra fair, every step feels comfortable, balanced, and strong.
Like my feet can finally move freely.
What really stood out to me was the roomy toe box.
My toes actually now have room to spread out, which makes movement feel more natural and comfortable.
And when your feet aren't crammed, you feel more balanced like every step has a strong stable foundation.
I've noticed that with extra space, my foot muscles get to work, building strength.
So I can actually move with more confidence.
Ultra fits and moves with the uniform at your pace or your goals.

The only reasonable thing to do to balance Yukon women's hoop dominance is
make the Huskies have just four players on the court or allowing opposing teams to have six players on the court.
Okay.
Got to do something.
Yeah, Connecticut won handily over Syracuse yesterday.
And these Syracuse women's basketball coach Felicia Leggette Jack had this to say about playing Connecticut every March.
For us to do what we've done to continuously have to come to Yukon.
And every single school that I go to from Buffalo to is unfair to the young people.
I don't know what it is.
What they said is there's something that they might have against me if that's the case.
And we need to communicate about that.
But for us to be what we've done and our body of work to have to come and play that best team in the country.
I mean, Geno has this thing going and he is.
I love what he's done.
But we I thought deserved a little more respect after being in his business for 37 years and to have to come and be in this particular bracket.
And every freaking year is unacceptable.
All right.
No, it's not a neutral site.
This is what the women's tournament does.
They want to take advantage of local fan bases here.
They don't want a neutral site where maybe you don't get large crowds.
They want atmosphere here.
Connecticut is the number one team in the country.
Connecticut and Syracuse have been five times in the NCAA tournament since 2016.
They met in the national title game in 2016.
The last four games have been in the round is 32.
Yukon has won those games by an average of 31 points.
I understand coaches going to be sensitive.
You could see it and you could hear it in her voice.
But you got humiliated.
It didn't matter where you were playing.
You got to you got to be honest about that.
Did you have your team prepared?
And if your team is worthy of 27 wins or whatever you had on the season,
you certainly didn't showcase that.
And you're eventually going to have to play Connecticut.
Because they're going to continue to win.
I don't think this has anything to do that she coached at Buffalo or Indiana or wherever else and now at Syracuse.
That the tournament is going to go, you know who we're going to embarrass?
We're going to embarrass Syracuse now.
I think that's unfair to Connecticut.
Connecticut.
And Geno Aureama makes no apologies.
Geno says, hey, you have to raise your game.
Come up to us.
They're not coming back down to you.
And I think they made the announcement last night.
Like a $100 million renovation.
Arena locker rooms.
I mean, this is big business here.
This is a big deal here.
And yes, there are probably four or five schools each year that can win a national championship or at least play in the national championship game.
Syracuse got there 10 years ago.
They are light years away.
But for her to say, you're singling me out.
And I've been in the game for 30 years.
I think that's unfair to the performance of Connecticut and the lack of performance by Syracuse.
And like you've always said, the NCAA tournament is also building a tournament.
They're going to put local teams against each other, teams with natural East Coast rivalries.
The fact that Syracuse and Yukon played in a final is inherent that they're going to match them up as soon as they can going forward.
And it's just a coincidence that they're four hours away from each other.
So you're definitely going to try to fill that building with Syracuse fans as well.
And I understand the sensitivity.
It's not humiliated.
And then you go into that press conference soon after.
And you could see the emotion that was there.
You could hear the emotion that was there.
I just think you got to separate.
You got to separate one from the other.
The NCAA is not out to get you.
Because where they out to get you when you're at Buffalo, where they out to get, yeah, you're going to play Connecticut.
You should want to play Connecticut.
You want to play the best.
Do it early.
But I think you got to be fair that Yukon is just in a different stratosphere here.
And yes, are you going to play it Connecticut? Yes, you are.
Why?
Because there is no other women's team in America that comes close to the fan base.
Now, Tennessee used to have this.
LSU still has a great following South Carolina.
There are really good programs.
Connecticut's just different.
But it feels like coach might be trying to deflect a little bit here.
I mean, that's the kind of score you would see in high school.
Hey, Paulie said Connecticut will be up by 30 at halftime.
It was 65 to 12.
I mean, Connecticut's really good.
They're not 65 to 12 against the team that's ranked in the top 25.
Yes, Mark.
Well, I may have to disagree with you because the level is different between the top five teams and teams 20 to 25.
So it might be a 30 to 40 point.
Not not 65 to 12 different.
They were on fire.
I don't know.
I couldn't tell you what happened with that.
Yes.
There's very clearly a discrepancy between, say, even, right, say, well, Marvin said the top five, even the top 10.
The bottom is so much lower than the top is high.
And there's really, there's only, I'll make up numbers here, but if there's 30 really, really good players and there's another 970 of them playing,
you know, that there's going to create these types of situations more often than not.
Yeah.
Connecticut is an overwhelming favor to win the title.
I wouldn't rule out UCLA.
Texas, South Carolina, LSU.
That's basically it.
Yeah, Mark.
And it's difficult when you watch something like maybe the women's McDonald's All-American game.
And there's 24 girls.
And they're going to seven schools.
And three of them are going to Yukon.
And three of them are going to South Carolina.
And three are going to LSU.
And it's like, you're not even spreading out the talent.
I always go back to Yukon with Diana Tarasi was there.
There was one year they won the national title.
She was the third best player on the team.
Diana Tarasi was the third best player because she had Sue Bird and Swing Cash.
And you had all this talent on one team.
And you can't spread it out like you can in the men's game.
Yes, Todd.
And to suggest or think that if you're somewhere outside of Gample Pavilion, you can play the game in Antarctica.
Instead of 65, 12 and a half time would have been like 59, 23.
Would there have been any kind of significant difference?
It wouldn't.
It is tough to play Connecticut.
But it's tough because start with the talent that they have.
And then you have the environment there.
But I just think that the anger is kind of misdirected here.
It really should be at your team.
Your team played sloppy.
Missing shots, easy shots throwing the ball at about.
I mean, some of that is because of Connecticut.
But, you know, there's.
You don't have the NIL money where we can evenly disperse talent across America.
Where the best player like AJ Devanza can go to BYU for $7 million.
And BYU makes the turn.
You don't have that in women's basketball.
There still is a very, very deep divide of who is good and who is not.
Or who is great and who is just good.
But I understand the frustration.
You could have called a press conference at a half time if you wanted to.
Yes, Paul.
I was hoping weirdly because little sadistic that the, I think as Holly Roe was doing the sideline
that on the way to the locker room, she would interview the Syracuse head coach.
What do you need to do in the second half coach any adjustments at halftime down?
Nope, nope.
I like where we are.
We, we got him right where we want him.
Which do you need to get going more your offense or your defense?
We gave up 65 and Willie scored 12.
They're getting tired from all the show.
Yeah.
They're going to be exhausted from making all those baskets there.
Yes, Todd.
You just can't spot the Husky's 53 points with the other just 20 minutes left of basketball.
Back in the smoke.
We're going to give it a shot.
Thank you, Todd.
All right.
Some phone calls here.
8773DP show.
Jesse and Florida leads us off.
Good morning, Jesse.
Morning, guys.
Fellas.
Six, four, 285.
Double XLT, sir.
Dan, I say that because I think you just created a nice new t-shirt.
It's going to be simple.
It's a black tee, silver script.
When be cares.
Because I think he does care.
And I would wear that proudly, rooting him on the rest of the season.
I got a 50-to-1 ticket for him to win the MVP.
I picked up.
So guys, get the work on that Wembee cares t-shirt.
I would love it.
All right.
I still like Wembee, but Matt Nohio.
Hi, Matt.
What's on your mind?
Hey, good morning, guys.
How's everybody doing?
Great.
Good.
Good.
I think it's a question and then a comment.
So as far as Wembee, Neonah goes, he's kind of like a unicorn.
I don't know if that's the right word.
And I think in baseball, the same goes for Otani.
I don't know if you guys think there's somebody like that in the NFL.
And then my comment was to Marvin that the hands don't make the man.
No.
Okay.
Thanks.
Chris and Syracuse.
Hi, Chris.
Hey.
Hey, thanks, Dan.
Hey, Dan.
It's funny.
Local media and fans here in Syracuse echo your awards to it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Real embarrassing with Coach Legat.
And you were talking about Wembee in the first segment.
And I said it a while back, too.
It's going to be great for the media because he's the antithesis
of Tim Duncan's dynasty.
If he does turn it into a dynasty.
I mean, he was Mr. Bankshot, vanilla.
Didn't really give you anything.
I mean, Wembee embraces it.
He's animated.
He'll talk.
He shows emotion.
I mean, it's going to be, yeah, it's going to be a lot of fun.
And he is.
He is so unique.
It's fun to watch and watch an entire game because I always tell people when they show me highlights,
I always say I want to see the game.
And they're like, well, don't these, you know, kind of bear out how great this player is.
And I go, yes, but I like to see when you get a shot blocked or you throw an interception
or you get sacked or you strike out.
I want to see what you do.
You're next bad.
You're next snap.
You're next shot because that's what sports is.
I mean, you think about baseball, 70% of the time you fail.
And you're still really good if you fail 70% of the time.
With basketball, you might make half your shots.
So you have these moments where you're human or you get knocked down.
You get back up.
Now what do you do?
That to me separates you.
Because there are guys who play in college.
I mean, I mentioned this before when I went to see the Michigan Ohio State game.
I went to the Ohio State years ago.
And Justin Fields looked like he was in the backyard.
And there was no, like it was a pro day against Michigan.
They could have scored 70 that day it felt like.
And it, you know, gives you this false sense of that guy is unbelievable.
And we found that that is true.
He is, you know, he was on a really good team with really good wide receivers playing
against a suspect Michigan defense and took advantage of it.
But everybody got caught up in that.
And you're like, oh my God, look at that guy.
I want to see what happens when somebody puts you on your rear end.
You throw an interception.
Because that's what the NFL is.
All right, we'll take a break.
We'll update our poll results.

And that was their final home game.

Whose career would you want?
Past, present, and future.
Otani, WNBA, or other?
Is there even another?
Hmm.
Right now, Shohei is winning that one with 72% of the vote.
WNBA and other, if there is another, are tied.
I can't help but think back.
I think it was on this day that Mike Trout signed his contract.
It was 12 years, 465 million.
Let me see if I got the numbers.
12 years, 426.5 million.
So that was 2019 on this day.
And you thought at the time, man, that guy,
the next Mickey Manor, Willie Mays,
and he's the future of the sport.
And then all of a sudden, he wasn't.
And then all of a sudden, they didn't make the playoffs.
Then all of a sudden, Otani comes and goes.
Then all of a sudden, he gets injured.
Then all of a sudden, he doesn't come up in conversation anymore.
It happens that quickly.
And it can take an injury.
It can take management making bad decisions.
And then you're not relevant anymore.
You're relevant when you win.
Otani won.
With the angels, he's a curiosity.
Now all of a sudden, you're playing in big games.
And that's all we wanted with Mike Trout.
We wanted to see him in games that mattered.
He said three playoff games.
And that was 12 years ago.
He's been making $37 million a year
for many, many, many years and has many left to go.
Yes, Willie.
Mike Trout's first eight years in the bigs,
2012 through 2019, first ballot Hall of Famer without question.
Three MVP's, he finished second four times.
Since then, the last seven years,
he's finished top five for MVP once.
But that's why when you look at this guy, can't miss.
This guy, this team, they're going to be playing for championships.
It can close that quickly.
And Mike Trout is not part of the national conversation anymore.
And it's a shame.
But I can look at ownership and management.
They didn't help him.
We said at the time,
if you're not keeping Otani,
which everybody knew they weren't, then trade him.
Get something for him.
I would have traded Mike Trout.
We said that five years ago that I would trade Mike Trout.
Yes, is it going to hurt?
Yes.
But I got to figure out how to make this team competitive in the shadow of the Dodgers.
And you haven't done a good job at all.
You lost Otani.
Mike Trout is kind of mired in mediocrity as far as, you know, the team goes.
You know, they tried with free agent signings.
But yeah, it's on this date in 2019, he signed that contract.
So he's got till 2031 to get paid.
Yeah, Marvin.
But three MVP's gets Mike Trout to the Hall of Fame.
Correct.
Yes.
Okay.
If he had two.
Well, he finished top five, what, three other times.
Four other times.
Yeah.
Many needs.
He'd be MVP.
Or he'd be a first battle Hall of Famer.
I would think.
Yeah, Paul.
Trout's first eight years are almost identical to Poohol's first eight years.
Awards, stats, numbers.
But Poohol's played in 88 postseason games and won two World Series.
Trout played in three total games.
And the Cardinals wisely didn't risk disrespect Poohol's with the contract offer.
But they wisely got his best years and moved on.
And that's where the angels go.
We'll take him.
And I remember being on the radio.
And I said, if they win a World Series with Poohol's, then you could validate all that
money.
Poohol's made one all-star team.
Now, you know, Hall of Famer, but the Cardinals got ten years.
One of the best return on investments in recent history of what they got.
Let's see.
Patrick and South Dakota.
Hi, Patrick.
What's on your mind?
Good morning, Dan.
Six foot, a Svelte 160.
I just wanted to make the comments, you know.
I know you guys are going to be talking about Ty Simpson here coming up.
And I don't think if any coincidence that Dan Arlovsky is pushing Ty Simpson as being a
better quarterback, seeing as they both are represented by BAA sports.
You know, this is another opportunity to also knock on the Raiders.
First of all, the offensive line is poor.
We get Linderbaum.
They have too many holes.
We get all these dynies and get Max back, you know.
So I just, this is just a funny headline that they're trying to push.
And obviously, Arlovsky's pushing it because of their connection with CAA sports together.
It's not obvious.
It's be fair.
It's a, you know, that's an accusation.
Or Lovsky's credibility is at stake here.
These, you know, these hot takes don't go away.
But, or Lovsky, he's so pro quarterback and he's always talking great about quarterbacks,
was I surprised that he said he's better than Mendoza.
So the Raiders are making a mistake in Dan Arlovsky's opinion.
But I don't think I'm going to look at this and go, well, they're represented by the same firm.
And therefore, he's going to risk his reputation to say something he doesn't believe in.
Yes, he is true.
I'm not saying that he is doing that, but I don't know that he's worried about.
Is anybody surrounding any of the drafts?
Do they really have to worry about reputation for what they get right and what they get wrong?
I mean, nobody is really like that.
Man, this guy gets everything right.
This guy gets everything wrong.
People just kind of comment.
Yeah, but I think it's different when it comes to us.
This is a standalone, like he's saying that Tyson Simpson is better than Fernando Mendoza.
It's not, he's got a bunch of comments or opinions about these draft picks.
Like this is out of nowhere.
And I think that's the surprising part.
And I do think that we have a call back.
You know, when Chris Simms talked about Lamar Jackson, he said, I think he's the best quarterback in the draft.
So we do remember those things.
I don't know if Dan Orlovsky cares if we remember.
And this is a bad take.
A lot of people like Bryce Young.
And I kept going, I don't think that you're seeing the same guy that I'm seeing.
But hey, it gave us, keep in mind, ESPN has the draft.
I mean, they're trying to pump up a draft that doesn't sound like it's too enticing.
We know Mendoza is going to the Raiders.
The other curiosity is Jeremiah Love.
Other than that, what are you really interested in on that first night?
Maybe where Ty Simpson goes, do the jets take him?
Do the cardinals take him?
Like these are the possibilities.
But we'll play what Orlovsky had to say about Ty Simpson when we come back.
And then you could judge for yourself.
I mean, he's passionate.
He truly believes it.
Not the only guy, by the way, who believes in Ty Simpson.
One hour in the books, two more to go.
We'll talk some college basketball with Clark Kellogg, also Reggie Miller.
Can Wembee steal the MVP?
Two more hours to go back after this.
