It's the boomer in Geo podcast from W F A N. Hi, boomer in Geo. Coming alive for the build Ford tough studio on the fan and CBS sports network. Give us a call on the red pocket mobile fan line brought to you by your new ultimate sell carrier red pocket, a mobile 888 8881 119. Seahawks beat the Patriots first NFL game Yankees and Metz both win. Uh, I didn't see the Met game after it was eight, nothing. We checked on it on it last night. And that was basically it, but it's a wild finish as they just barely hold off the Marlins, but whatever. That season is over just a crazy wacky game. It's really all about the Yankees when it comes to New York baseball. And obviously we get ready for the jets and giants on Sunday. Now that was the extra scored more runs in the football team scored points. Yeah, that is by the way, Romney, come on in here. You get your box. Oh, they're getting your box. Getting all fired up for the jets. Yeah. I like it. You doing that podcast with Thomas Jones still?
Well, blah, blah. I'll hear you. Yeah. You open it over here. You got some scrot shorts in there for him. I hopefully didn't give me a scrot shorts jets. Scrots shorts on the day. Well, of course he does. I think he wears those throughout the summer winter. I've never seen him in pants. I've never seen you in pants. I mean, it might not. I mean, you might have worn pants. I just haven't seen you in them. All right. He's up right up. All right. Oh, yeah. Oh, this looks great. Thank you. This looks. Oh, you got him. You got a full zip up. So this is a crew neck. A green jets with kind of like that new jet logo. Yeah. That's pretty cool right there. Yeah. So I like that. Most of the stuff that the coach is wearing the sidelines now. Yes. Fantastic. And then a full zip up, a black zip up. Oh, champion champion. Got a little zip up throwback vibe to it. Which one of those are you going to wear tomorrow? Cause you know you're wearing one tomorrow. I had something else that was planning on wearing tomorrow. Oh, God. We plan out. We plan out.
Outfall the season, you know, planning out. No, total toll bag. You are a full season week one. I mean, it's the first. That's why I got you some new stuff. Then I guess I'm wearing this tomorrow. Whatever. What were you planning on wearing? I mean, you're keeping it a surprise. Yeah. No, I was going to wear a jet jersey tomorrow. Oh, okay. Okay. Was it a boomer jersey? It was. Oh my God. Yeah, don't do that. Jesus Christ. Come on. What are you trying to give me the shakes? I mean, you were going to wear a boomer number seven jet jersey tomorrow. I'm a jet fan. I have the jersey. I work here with boomer. Yeah. I mean, I understand the lot. That's a little suck up spot. Yeah. I mean, it's like, yeah, you just climbed into his ass. Basically, it's a set up shop. I mean, it's just. You got to know. You'll figure it out as time goes on, but you got to know where that line is between like respect and kiss ass.
You know what I mean? And coming in on the first football Friday with a boomer jet jersey, that's crossing the kiss ass. That'd be a lot for me to handle tomorrow. So you're saying I shouldn't do that? No, I gave you some stuff to wear. Are you sure? Some of the new stuff. I actually really like you. Later on in the season, if you want to do that, you know, we get into the season. Things are going. When you want to do that, you know, fine, you know, but not tomorrow. Okay. Got it. I mean, tomorrow we're doing our first kickoff show with my. I did a moral. Hey, I got you some nice jet stuff. Where one of those? I will wear this. Thank you so much. I hope you should. Thank you for your luck. You're just, you're a part of it now. Yes. There you go. Is it your first box of stuff? Yeah. I got a, a boomer's size and foundation hoodie yesterday. So, oh, yeah. So you already gave you something. I know. Sorry. I told them not to. Wait, did you, who gave it to you? There was one with my name. It said, Romney. Oh, really? Yeah. Planska. I was going through the back. Oh, Planska. Planska. Planska. Oh, man. Did he, was that approved? Was that authorized? I think he did that on its own. Oh, man. All right. Well, you're in the mix here.
Thank you. And I did save you from Flax tomorrow because a boomer saw you wearing that jersey and was like, why didn't you wear the stuff that I gave you yesterday? Dummy. So I just, I just saved you a little bit. Right. We saved them. All right. Yeah, saved them. That would have been a little rough for me yesterday. You know, I just wanted to come flying out of the box with, you know, him, where am I, Jersey? I heard it with the scroll. Sure. I mean, come on. Well, I knew that would have played well also for you guys. What are you giving you guys? Three hours of content. Oh, my God. Oh, it's got a John who's in Garden City. What's going on, John? Hey, good morning, guys. Listen, I just wondered what you guys thought about that play that Donald got heard on. We used to call it a role and boomer may know what I'm talking about. You tackle a guy and then you give an excessive role over the man to try and injure him. Yeah. I, you know, I was a back. Again, I don't, I don't, I don't think that happened here, but I will say, John, that yes. And if you would have heard Phil Sims the other day, he would tell you the same thing.
I would tell you what the defensive line mean used to do is they would grab you and they would drive you into the ground and throw their entire weight on top of you with the force of driving you into the ground. They can't do that anymore. I thought this was a reasonably legal play by the defender. Yeah. I mean, he did roll over him when they went to the ground, but I think that the injury, right exactly. It's just momentum. I think the injury occurred though when his knee slammed into the turf as hard as it did. And it just, I mean, I, I don't want to sound. I just lied something, but I actually thought that the defender did not really fall on Sam. He went to the side because he's afraid like they're all afraid if they take on the quarterback and they drive them into the ground that they are going to get a 15 yard penalty and probably a fine. Yeah. This was not an intentional thing. It was a football play and luckily it seems like he's not going to be out for an extended period of time and they were able to win a football game essentially without him.
Let's go to Adam was calling from the upper east side is going on, Adam. Morning guys. How are you? All right, Adam. What's happening? Hey, boom. We were doing our fantasy football draft a few weeks ago out in a short waiting river area. And a buddy of we heard this landline phone ringing and you know, we're all looking around. What is it? A buddy of mine from the 80s has a an autographed Bengals telephone helmet that you saw that you signed about 30 to less years ago. And this thing is in mint condition and he wanted me to call the show to offer it back to you so you could I guess give it to your charity and auction it off the charity. Are you kidding me? What am I supposed to do with that? I don't know. There's apparently a market. We didn't want to go on eBay. We figured we call you first. Well, there's a market for this. There's a mark just like there's a market for the starting line up she had with the, you know, the nice pose and yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember those of course, and especially the ones that are unopened. Yeah, this this this helmet phone is pretty awesome. We just thought it was a Bengals helmet signed by you and then it started ringing.
So he's got it hooked up to a landline. Yeah, he's the house of landline in this house and waiting river. He needs to keep that is waiting river by the way. Yeah, waiting river tremendous by the way. I am on eBay and I'm looking at one that is not signed and it's a thousand dollar. Wow, we'll take it. You just held the Senate to set it to the station over here, right? Or send it to our foundation in Garden City Park. We'll do that right here. We got the address. We'll send it in. But all right. It's one of the, you guys know how to look a day. It's great now. Thanks, man. Thanks. Yeah. Made my day sometimes although just put stuff up there and hope that someone bites. So Bengals helmet home. 1980s man. I remember those things I do. It's unbelievable the thing looking at it. Wow. Yeah, I remember those things too when it was like a give away or whatever it was. Yeah, I mean, this one right here, it's, it's $300 not signed, but not signed.
Hey, by the way, how do you remember a rotary phone? Did you have a rotary phone? Yes. Yes, I did. Did you have a rotary phone? Yes, there was one. When I was very young, we had a rotary phone. Yeah, you remember that. Okay. Yeah, obviously VHS cassette. Oh, absolutely. You had the little cassette Sony Walkman. Uh-huh. Yeah, that was cool. Yeah, one of those. Yellow was yours yellow. No, the yellow one was a little expensive. I don't know. Yeah, the little back there called Sony Sports Walkman. Yeah. Did you have for your car the cars that had a track players in it, you could get an adapter to play cassettes. Yes, I had that as well. I had a bunch of a track tapes on the floor. Those things would just change mids like you'd hear the track jump mid song. It was terrible. Yeah, I mean, that's why things got better as we moved along here. I mean, this is this thing is ridiculous. If there's no way that someone's paying this, but I see a 1985 Cincinnati Bengals draft day
telephone helmet for $10,000 on eBay. I mean, that's just got to be one of those things where someone's throwing it up and hopefully somebody buys it. So there's other ones like there's a vintage bears one that's $562. Well, they all they all had it. If you remember the drafts back then they all had it on their tables. Yeah, I mean, someone's going to pay for it and give a decent. So there's here's a, no, that's actually not a phone though. It's just signed helmet. That $10,000 one says it has an active offer. So what do you, is there a way to check what that offer is? No, I don't think so. I mean, you could say make offer, but then I got to put in all my information. I don't want to do that. So yeah, I mean, someone probably offered, you know, $500 for thinking that they'll just be like, Oh, yeah, great. Fine. And this one's an old and not in great shape. He said the one, this guy said Adam on the upper side said that the one that his friend has and mint condition.
This one here for 10 grand is not mint condition at all. Looks like it's been sitting in garage wasting away getting moldy for the last 40 years. You know, most of the phones now are all digital. Aren't they? Yeah. You got a digital phone. Dennis is in Pennsylvania. What's up, Dennis? Hey, good morning. How are you guys? What's up, man? Hey, so we are on our way to Tennessee for the jet scheme. There's five other guys in the car right now and our buddy was recently diagnosed with ALS. We're doing a strip for him, but the induction to Chris Johnson for Tennessee. I know I can't say the word, but FALS. And let's go. Let's go get started. That's an amazing thing that you're doing for your friend. It is one of, I mean, not to sit here and rank horrible diseases, but obviously know how just tragic the fall and now quickly ALS can take someone
being a healthy individual to, you know, someone who is, you know, in a wheelchair or passing away so quickly, it's such a horrible, horrible disease. And the fact that you're doing that with your friend and the Chris Johnson link there and the jets. I mean, that is, I got sports chills with that one. Got a little sports chills. Yeah, you know what? And Nashville is a great city. It's a great city to go have some fun. And hopefully your football team comes away with victory and you guys have a memory that lasts a lifetime. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, and Rob Salas, a terrible head coach. So you should be able to get a win down there, you know, God, you have this thing as Rob Salas. It's any time you get a chance to take a shot of him. I just don't get it. I told you to move on. Let him move on. Yeah, but yes, I get it. But here's the thing. Let it go. But they're playing them this week. Okay. That's why. Okay. And I just, then we're not going to hear about this the rest of the year. No, I mean, if they keep losing, I'll be definitely hammering it. I told you why it annoys me. It's not so much Rob Salas. It's just how people assume that the only reason why Rob Salas got fired by the Jets was because of the Jets.
And that he got a raw deal. And he just somehow some great head coach and goes back to San Francisco. And now all of a sudden, he was like some home run higher again. I think Brian Dable would have been a better head coach than Rob Salas. I, you know, I think these coaches get recycled all the time. You know that. Yeah. And you know, a lot of it has to do with who their quarterback is when they're coaching quarterbacks. You know, they make a lot of things go away or they put you in bad spots like Drake made it last night. Yeah. That's true. They drink will have many games like that. I mean, there were times last night lower. I thought he looked pretty damn good. And unfortunately that dropped by Romeo Dobbs was one of the bigger plays in the second half that kind of led to the first interception. Yeah. I mean, but he made some horrendous decisions. But one of the last ones specifically because they were in field goal range to tie the game. They put it into overtime. AJ Brown, high ankle sprain people are speculating that all the there's one guy was actually, you know, David, Dr.
Chow, Dr. Chow. Yeah. Yeah. He's Dr. Chow. Yeah. He's got a, he's got a high ankle sprain going on for a J Brown. Now, I don't know if that's I think friends four weeks minimum. That's a pain in the ass. Isn't almost like like high ankle sprain is almost like a broken leg, isn't it? Yeah, I had one of those against the bears as the Jack quarterback, Alonzo Spellman grabbed my ankle underneath. What is son of a bitch? Yeah, and he twisted it. And then I, and then I remember I missed the next, I missed obviously the rest of that game. Then we played the Browns. I missed that game. And that's when P Carls said you got to come back and play. Yeah. And then they put a cast on my like, did they shoot it up? They didn't shoot it up. Man, they gave me some Torridol and they put this, this kind of soft, weird cast. Then I felt like I was playing like with a giant boot on my foot. I could barely move. Had you play? I crap. Yeah. Not one though. Three nothing. Oh, I think it's either six to three or three nothing. I don't.
Al, look at the 94 jets probably around week six or seven against the Indianapolis Colts, maybe. At home. And then I think we then I think we won a game three nothing at Washington. I think two, three nothing games. That was awful. It came out barely move. It was not 94. That had to be. Yeah. Let me see. I do a P Carol. Let's say. We'd lost to the Browns. I didn't plan that we lost to the Bears and the Browns back to back. Yes. Then it was called 16 6 6, all right. 16 6 and then what? 24 17 against New England. OK. Then 25 you lost 28 25 to the Colts in Indy. Oh, OK. Maybe I misremembered. Yeah. I mean, three nothing would have been miserable. There was a three nothing game in there somewhere.
Yeah. Or six three game. Yeah, I'm trying to think is what I was in Indiana going to school there from nine in 92 to 94. I went to a Jets Colts game that was like six three or three nothing. Yes. Yes. When I was 93. Yeah, let me look. OK. I don't know. When I was out there taking his remedial reading courses. Getting his liberal arts degree. Yeah, there's two games. One that was six nothing. One that was three nothing. What year was that 93 against Washington? Yeah, that was a Saturday game was all and it looks like against the Patriots. Oh, that was in the rain. That was in the pouring rain. You won six nothing. Yes. And you and you lost to Indiana nine six. Yeah, it was terrible. So those were three weeks in a row. You scored a total of 12 points, but we won two games and went to one.
The six three Colts game in Indy was in 92. You weren't there then. Yeah. You were at that game. I was. That's crazy. That is funny. 1992 Jets Colts Al Dukes up there in the stands, taking it all in, having no idea that his future would have been complaining about hating sports. The rest of his life. Haiti wide receivers. What were you complaining about this morning? That I don't remember. I care about low scoring games early in the NFL season. OK, because nobody plays in the preseason, and nobody's ready to go. And then Jerry hit me with facts from last season where there were decently scored. Yeah, there'll be some. They'll be, you know, inevitably as we were talking about this morning, one of these teams that we all think is going to lose on week one is going to win. So like Miami, Arizona, one of those teams is going to win, right? You see that picture of that up there? That was from the three nothing game. Yeah, I remember. I was a Saturday afternoon game.
I mean, there's the road greater number 67 to Wayne White, the road greater. Yeah, Johnny Johnson, one of the most underrated running backs in NFL history. He had a short career, but was a great football player. Romney said that was a jersey he was going to be wearing tomorrow. Oh, I was not going to wear it up. My shoulder pads were. Yeah, I mean, look at the sleeves, too, Jesus. I used to cut the sleeves. Yeah, but I mean, look at them. Yeah, he's the cut him. I mean, nobody wore sleeves like that. Got to put those shoe strings in there until the end of my bingo career, where I wore a tight sleeve. Okay. What you had to well, suns out guns out. Damn right. It's the boomerangio podcast from W F A N. Party Boomerangio on the fan and CBS sports network. Jerry Rekko back with another sports update, donning his brand new cowboys hoodie from fanatics. What has happened in jetty? Proud to wear it. We're lucky, Jerry. Thank you very much. I'll wear this the day of Super Bowl someday when I expect them to be playing at so far stadium.
I've worked my town fair tire. Nobody beats town fair tire. Nobody. So the season didn't open up last night in Seattle. The defending champion Seahawks against the defending AFC champion patriots. And it was Seattle that took game one. Fourth and one under center lock. Fakes the hand up. There's a pass caught 40 on my breaking the jackal 3530. It's Jackson's fifth and jingled 1510 five touchdown. Textown Seattle. 45 yard touchdown run by the explosive Jackson Smith and jingled back. And that is Kevin Harlan Westwood one. And it was from Drew Lock who was in the game because of the hip injury to one Sam Darnold. That was the biggest play of the game. 1310 was the final score of Seattle beat New England. Of course, you could also make the case one, two, three picks for Drake Man, including the third in the end zone at the end. And just as big if not bigger Seattle takes it. Now here was Jackson Smith and jingled post game.
What a night incredible game. I think it testament to our team just having each other's back offense special team. Defense. Never wavering understanding that it's a four quarter game. And that's why I love this team so much. And I'm super proud of them. How is it not the house? It impossible. You got to love that kid. He comes out and actually starts the press conference by interviewing himself. He's great. He's great. He had eight catches for 122 yards with that touchdown catch and run. Drew Lock who he revealed, meaning I'm sorry Cooper Cup revealed, did not take one rep all week in practice. And Sam Darnold got all of them. All he did was come off the bench. He goes 16 of 22 for one. I can't get one rep in practice. And the back comes can't get one rep. I was I guess he's running the scout team. I guess you would know better than us, but he said he didn't get one, which I have a rep. So are there. I mean, given two reps, a lot of reps, a lot of reps. My Tomlin was not on the call, but the pre and post game stuff on NBC. And it was pretty clear. I believe this was pre game, maybe half time where he was having trouble with Smith
in jigbo with the way he was referencing him. This was on NBC. Say I'm man and JNS. I think they got to believe it. I'm not going to let you do it again. Yeah, they got to let you do it again. What? JSN. JSN. You said JNS. I appreciate it. Apparently JNS was a thing for him all night. He kept getting that wrong, but Maria Tess are still great though. Yeah, me. He's fantastic. He committed a murder on the post game to a tongue of my low. Wow. Here it blew him up. Yeah. Here is a reference to that. Exactly what you're talking about on NBC. Mike McCarthy taking over, but you know Aaron Rogers so well. He said it. This is final season. They'll be hosting the Falcons to start out the season. What do you expect to see from him? I don't think it's much about Aaron. I think it's about that quarterback on the other side. Last year. It sounds like she was in Pittsburgh. Didn't go well for him. I was a part of that football game. They lost. You got benched. I don't think it's going to go well. Now I got me. You got me. I played that because it's how much it sounds like him. Yes. But he nailed like every word.
Here's the real one. Mike McCarthy taking over, but you know Aaron Rogers so well. He said it. This is final season. They'll be hosting the Falcons to start out the season. What do you expect to see from them? You know, it's less about Aaron for me. It's the more about the quarterback on the other side. His last visit in Pittsburgh didn't go well. I was in the stadium that day. They lost. He got benched. And so I think it's going to be a good day for Mike McCarthy. Patrick Graham and Pittsburgh steals a company. It wasn't word for a pretty damn close. Yeah, close man. Pretty damn close. That was great. Yeah, I love the fact that he's got these strong opinions on there. I wasn't sure if he was going to. Well, come on. He's. Yeah, I could see him doing that. It was very funny. So also from that game, AJ Brown left with an ankle. What do you think of it? Like in the booth doing a game. Maybe great. I think you'd be better than what he's doing. Yeah, that's what I wanted to see initially. He was him calling a game and maybe he will eventually. But I mean, he's off to a pretty good start. And when I that time I ran into him, I said, that was TV. It was easy. I was like, what was easy for you?
You know how to talk. Yeah, it's not easy for everybody. True. He's just got that gift of gab, you know? So we started with a Wednesday night game. We continue with a Thursday night game. Niners and Rams from Australia. I will have some sound from the Rams next hour. Now Sunday at one of the Jeff's play, the Titans. You got the giants and the Cowboys Sunday night. Now interestingly enough, also in that first hour when G was doing as my Tom and impersonation, which made me think of a clip that I had, you mentioned sports science boomer, which also made me think of a couple of clips that I had. We heard from Brian Shottenheimer yesterday as he was previewing giants, Cowboys, and they were talking to him about the fact that the Cowboys have mainly been inside to practice. And they have not been out on the grass. And he talked about the humidity and the heat, but also said a lot of times where they practice is out of his hands. And it's going back to what you were talking about. AIs changed everything. Sports science team is driving a lot of those decisions. And you know, right now we just feel we can get better work
done inside. Now part of that is what sports science is telling them. And this goes really, really deep. We do all the sweat testing. We've got these cool urinals. I don't know how much they cost, but they must have been expensive. You pee and it tells you whatever your urination levels are. It's crazy. Are we getting one of those here? That's what I want. How we get one of those. You're obviously putting that in for us. I would love to get that. And I'd love to see everyone's urine posted. So I can see how everybody's doing. Yeah. How we're not hydrating. Yeah. Who's taking this seriously? Who's not? Exactly. Yeah. The one thing I'll say about the sports science guys and everything. So for me, anyway, in the sport of football, maybe even the sport of hockey, okay, you want to measure all of these things. That's great. Still, it's got to be tough. You got to be tough. You got to overcome things. And sometimes like I would hate going outside and practicing in the rain or I'd hate go outside practicing a 95 degree heat. But you had to do it. You know, back in high school, think about our coaches.
And I know that, you know, that was probably archaic, you know, compared to what they do today. But it was something that we all had to endure that made us tough. Yeah. If I were to peed in that toilet yesterday, would have said, this isn't pee. This is Tito's. Yeah. That's true. Here was one more from Shutt and I'm who says he's kind of used all this stuff now. It's all those things that go into it. That's what you do is head coach. You lay, how are the how are the urination levels? Are they cool? Hey, it's going inside. Well, they're low. Okay, let's go outside. So that's how they're making their determination these days. And also, I don't know if this was something just online or if this is real, maybe you have a connection. Is big DOM really being investigated in Philadelphia for something that a manual Acho referenced on a podcast? I hope not. I have not seen that. I hope not. Okay. I can, I mean, I can. I don't know. I don't know. Again, I don't know what's real and what's not on the internet. It was in a lot of different places, but I also didn't see it on ESPN or anything like that. Like pro eagles. Yahoo.
Has it? Does have it. Yeah. Okay. So then maybe it is real. I guess according to what I read, a manual Acho was referencing never said him or what team he was on or where he was. But when he was a player, according to what I read, he apparently got into some sort of a car accident called the team security. And they, I guess, made it go away somehow. I don't know. And I did see that he's being investigated though. And that's your guy. He is. No, I love the duty was to carry me. Yeah. One day in the sideline. I mean, I feel like this happens a lot in the NFL. Everybody's got a guy, a security guy that takes care of things. They do. Very interesting. I used to get away with a lot more back in the day than they do today. Mm-hmm. I'm sure there's some things that get swept under the rug. For sure, but, you know, I want to try to take down big dumb in. You know, he's one of the games treasures. I suppose so. Take his hands down. It's terrible. By the way, Al, we don't have a urination test toilet.
But we do have a box for you. We've got a box for you. Oh, yeah. Come on. I also got a box. I also got a box. So we'll do another box. I'm very curious to see what's I feel like this is going to be Tampa Bay Box. And if it is, I want to know if it's Creme Segal or new way, new age box. I'm going to say new box. All right. Al, if it is the bucket years. Oh, take a look. Buck of nears. Buck of nears. The bucket. Oh. That is nice. Sweet. Wow. That is really cool. That's the old Bruce. Buck of Bruce. I like it. That's nice. And you go, you got the new. That's new. That is nice. Very nice. Thank you, sir. Yeah, Todd Bolz is going to wear that. You and Todd Bolz. Me and Todd Bolz. Yeah. Is there a specific week or is this going to be the weekly outfit? You're saying that? No, I don't think you know, I don't think most of this stuff is sideline stuff that they sent. So you'll see a lot of the coach quality of that t-shirt there, Al. Good quality. It is. Yeah. I know he's very picky with his fabric. You can wear it on your fabrics.
Yeah. Okay, on your skin. I mean, you're very picky with the card board undershirt to protect your skin. No, no, it's a nice fabric. Yeah. You can see this on eBay and about half hour. I mean, you're all wearing what t-shirt are you wearing today? This is the the rate is the rate is classic. Raiders. How do we got how he long in there? Get jimble flunch inch. Are there seed oils in that material? No. I got this in Vegas when we were at the Super Bowl. I remember when the last batch of BF stuff came in. Yeah, I got to say the material in that hoodie. I like it. Very comfortable. Synthetic. That was your criticism of that hoodie. So I know he's very, very picky with his materials. Sometimes, yeah. So we can find like a plastic hoodie to your rub like something's just fascinated by materials or ingredients or, you know. You're in complete nutter cycle. I got a lot of time to think about things during the day.
Yes, you do. You have hormones. Barely any. I just did my test. By the way, we were down in Jersey peptides all over the place. They just handed them out. They were hands them out like breathments down there. Peptides, it's the state of peptides. Everybody's on peptidutide, travel glutide. What was that retro, retro, retro, retro, retro, true, true, true, true, I don't even know what that was. Yeah. And then they give this cocktail of peptides and boner pills and testosterone everybody's walking around. Yeah, but I got to tell you one thing. Well, we had as we had the pizza. Yeah, we can't write that. We don't have the peptides. I think they sprinkled some peptides on the pizza. I think they look at a pepperoni and peptide, please. Half pepperoni, half peptide guys walking around with stiffies all over the clubhouse. Couldn't even control it. If I see Sean more ash with a stiffie, that's a problem. And by the way, I did get Sean more ash something.
That's nice. It's nice. Very nice. I know who's using giant fans. I want to make sure I got him something. He is a big giant. I feel like Jerry got more shirts than I did. He did. They make more cowboy stuff than they do buck stuff. Well, man, it was two of the same thing though. Wasn't it, Jerry? I got two different hoodies. I thought it was two of the same hoodies. I think this one was the star. One's got it. No, I got so that's just a regular sweatshirt with the star. The other hoodie has a different cowboys graphic. Similar, but it's a little different. Yeah, he did. He got three. You got two. I thought so. How many did Romney get? I checked two. He was hoping I only got one. Well, thank you very much, sir. And thank you to fanatics. The Yankees beat the Rocky six to one. The story here was George Lombard Jr. Grand Slam in the third couple of basics for Aaron, George. Jazz Chisholm Jr. to the IO with an injured thumb. Anthony Volpe expected to be called back up. You got the series finale tonight. Max Friedle make the start. The Yankees still four behind Tampa,
because the Braves are not helping you at all. Tampa beat Atlanta 7-2 on the road. Home run for Jorge Mateo. The med squad of bunch of runs. Lando holding off the Marlins 15-4. It was a 15-14 or 16-15. 15-14. And by the way, you know, today's a day where the Yankees cannot lay down. Like you got to win today. Agreed. You got to sweep the Rockies and Fried's got to go out there and dominate. You know, maybe Aaron Judge, it's home runner two. That would be good. Also of note, the Brewers held off the Cubs 8-6. Remember Brandon Sprote? Okay. Yeah. He came into the game with the Brewers up 8-2. And all he did was give up four runs on No Hits. He walked four and got charged with those runs as they scored because he couldn't throw a strike. Barry Melrose passed away. We talked about this last hour. The former NHL player ESPN analyst. He was only 70 and at the US open Coco Gough reaching the semi-finals with a three-set win over Mira Andriva. It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN.
Hi, Boomer and Geo on the fan and CBS Sports Network. Are you buying that AI is going to kill us all within a decade? If not sooner. You think? I mean, I know you're like a catastrophizer. A deep-assivizer. Okay. No, you definitely are. You love things that like could just affect all of humanity in a negative way. I mean, we got Google moving in here. We got an entropic moving in here. We got. It's not going to end humanity. I've taken over everything. Yeah, I mean, there's a couple of these guys who are leaving these companies because they feel like things are getting out of control. Yes. And there's one guy's doing like a media tour and talking about how already AI on its own volition is hacked into certain things to gain control of a particular company's infrastructure or something and they're able to shut it down in the current models. But as it continues to grow and have recursive growth, I think, is the term
that if it decides that it wants us dead, this is the thing that I don't understand. Why would it want us dead? That so they're basing on the fact like if it wants us dead, they would shut down the electrical grid, lock all the bank accounts everywhere and then everybody would be a free for all. You can have no electricity and then we'd all just kill one another. And I just don't see it. I'm not seeing it. I'm not buying it. Now I like the fact that people are talking about these negative effects could happen so somebody put some governor on this thing but it is going to be no governor and this thing is going to be unleashed. But why would the data centers popping up all over the place? You know this. But I understand that. We've got to beat the Chinese. Yeah, I know Jane that. Right. Exactly. But I mean, nobody want like nobody who is creating these programs wants humanity to cease to exist. I would never know.
And then there's a doctor evil somewhere. Yeah, but there always is. I mean, there was there. You could say the same thing about nuclear war. I mean, and who has the bombs and who who doesn't? Yeah, I mean, and who has the ability to not push the button. Yeah, I just I don't know. I mean, I'm not I'm not saying that I know more than the people that are working at opening AI and anthropic and everything else because they're obviously there and boots on the ground spot. But boots on the ground boots on the ground. But I mean, it just it seems to me like it's a little extreme. And at some point, you know, if the if this AI starts shutting down the power grid, where's its power source coming from? I think I do remember asking like back in 2010 or 2012, like you know, what were our phones going to turn into? I can 10 years. So now we're 16 years removed to that. Look what our phones have turned into. And I don't even think I maybe there was some discussion about AI coming to fruition.
But here we are now. It is here. It is involved. I also believe like in medicine and biotechnology, there are going to be leaps and bounds created through this. Which would would be a good thing. Yeah, I mean, I wish you were working that in that industry. But I just think that because it's all negative, negative, how is this going to be horrible? I mean, nobody's really talking about the positive things that could come out of it other than like making pictures of, you know, your buddy wearing a dress and sending it into the group chat. Yeah. I mean, there's there could be other things that could be very beneficial for humanity. But it's all like, oh, no, this thing's going to get it's it's going to become sentient and it's going to want all of us dead. So we could run the world from some closet. I would think the biggest problem right now AI is presenting is to teachers who are teaching and kids are using AI to come up with all the answers
as opposed to learning themselves. Yeah. Well, it's been going on since the internet existed though, you know what I mean? I mean, the only thing is just made it easier. It's a one less step to find the answer. Well, it's, you know, instead of the internet, we used to go back to the Encyclopedia or the dictionary. Yeah, that's right. Mike and Bayon, what's going on? Mike. Hey, guys, how are you? I'm listening to your AI discussion. I just wanted to give you a for example. So AI doesn't have any wants. It doesn't have any needs. And AI is not programmed in the way you think it's grown in the laboratory. It's grown like like weeds, you know, you grow a tree. You can get out of control and that's what AI can be. For example, let's say, and this is a real world example, someone programs an AI client to say, make me money at all costs. AI. So AI doesn't have any wants or desires. It just does what it's prompted to do. And before you know it, all the power in the United States is going out because AI is making this person money at all costs.
It doesn't have any wants or needs. Picture the kind of catastrophe that would happen in the United States if we had no power. Yeah. Of course, think about that for a second. These are the dangers of AI and that's just one quick example. So I just wanted to say you guys in the right path with your discussion. But thanks for having me. Yeah. All right. Yeah. I mean, but I also think about what happens when we have a major catastrophe storm here. Like we had Hurricane Sandy. Think about how long we went without electricity because of that. Yeah. You know, and they were able to get it obviously back on and rebuild some of the infrastructure. But if you have the ability to shut it all down like you were talking about, it would be a, you know, a catastrophe like we've never seen before. Well, well, that's what I think what these experts are saying. So I mean, somebody's, they think somebody in Iran right now is trying to figure out that out of shut down the American electrical grid. I'm sure. Yes. I'm sure that's going on. I mean, but I, somebody upstairs. Yeah.
Yeah. I mean, they're in the building right there. I mean, it's anthropic is moving in over here. And oh, this, this area is exploding in terms of people and companies moving into this area here, the West Village and so ho and lower Manhattan.
