America leads the world in medicine development. It matters. We get new medicines first, nearly
three years faster. Five million Americans go to work because we make medicines here at home,
and not relying on other countries keeps us safe. But China is racing to overtake us.
Will we let them? Or will we choose to stay ahead? When America leads, America cures.
Let's tell Washington to keep us in the lead.

Power. Power. Power. Power. Power. How many was that? I don't even know, man.
It was no significance to that, but I am looking at the available for agents.
You know, surprised that the jets were going like with the young outside guy that it wasn't like
Leo Chanel. You know what I mean from. It's a lot of talk about him from from, you know,
but he would seemingly be like a bigger contract guy, which, you know,
let's me think that, you know, is I know we talked to Rich, but maybe Billy and him are still
because I think they believe in my know. It may be my know. I can underneath
the Mario Davis. Can learn how to be a a mic linebacker in a in a in a three four.
Because he played a lot and they started him a lot, you know, his brother of my know,
right? It's going to be a first round drive pick as well. But this definitely means,
you know, that, you know, you don't need like you don't need that many inside linebackers anymore
if you're going to a three four. You maybe need five of us to stay on the roster and you need like
maybe another five for outside. And you need somebody that can do both. But, you know,
maybe they believe in it in my know, to be able to say, okay, he can be that guy. We can still go
get a guy like Arvel Reese and say, hey, he's going to eventually be our pass rusher. But no
pressure. Look, what the Jets did yesterday was get better. And I still ask the question around it
of how much better is it going to look this coming year? Because I can't point to whoever the
quarterback's going to be and say, I feel infinitely better about their chances of making the playoffs
this coming season unless something dramatic happens. And I don't foresee that happening as much
as defensively, they got better yesterday. To me, it's almost more important from a psyche
standpoint of we are not going to get pushed around. We are not going to get run over because to
me, that was the most disheartening thing of last year. They could stop the run just how bad that,
I mean, that, that just breaks your spirit watching. And I can't imagine what it's like as a player
when you can't stop the run. And because they're in a four or three, they try so many different
things. They try sink fronts, but they didn't have the personnel. So they were bringing like an
inside linebacker up front. And then he's the guy that's in the front as the defensive end at 240
pounds or they'll bring like Quincy Williams and Quincy Williams is now the outside linebacker,
but he's only 220, right? So you're trying to go with speed and team just double team and pounded
the Jets to some missions. Nothing they can do. And you know, they better do something because you
think about the, you know, what, what is Glenn saying? This is my superpower. So you better get some,
you better get the marvels. You know what I'm saying? If you're going to play, if you're going to
play, uh, who's the, who's the guy? Uh, Fury, if you're going to play Nick Fury. And, and
Marvel's, you're going to be Sammy O'Jackson, you better go get you some Avengers. Yeah, I don't know
that. I don't know if they got any Avengers yesterday. Well, they went and got enough of it. What
I'm saying is what they've been doing, getting big guys, right? Going to, going to get the, um,
making a tray for the, for the, for the, for the, make it for the Spadrig. No, no. Oh, the guy
from last year, you're talking about Tyson. Oh, Tavondry sweat to Andre sweat, right? Yeah.
Oh, how to get to Vandray. Yeah, to Vandray. I am starting to lock in again on to Vandray.
To Vandray. Yep. Briggs, um, a modder. Yep. On your modder. Yep. You get him, you get him,
like you, you ain't going to push us around. Like you might throw 4,000 yards, but we're going to stop
something. We don't be beefy up top. Yeah. You might chuck it over the, over the top of the
you can deal with that. But at least we got Mika. He can help. Yeah. He'll, he'll make them better.
They gave him a reasonable deal. It's, I, I, I'm so in between on this and it's such a complicated
feeling for me because I'm tired of watching them blues. I'm tired of watching them just be bad
for 15 consecutive years. And they haven't been bad for the entire time. But Tavond made the playoffs.
And the point is, I, I know it has to be an incremental thing.
It just feels like it's always been about it being an incremental thing and incrementally,
they've never gotten better. So you want to look at it as optimistically as you can. But the
realism factor does nothing but smack you in the face when you realize that there's a good chance
to, you know, Smith is your quarterback for next year. You know the crazy thing is too. We need
new kicker. Nick Volk got a two year deal for Pete.
Hey, what do you go to Atlanta? Yes. But at least he's kicking indoors. I said two year deal.
Yeah. And all nice stuff. You know, I mean, he's kicking indoors twice and out in favourable
landscapes when you think about the other stuff. Well, as long as you find a kicker, it's fine.
Somebody you, you're not having to swap them out like fantasy football every week. Justin Tucker.
You want to do that? Yes. Well, here is me. He would be my problem with this. Yes.
Well, he would be my problem. The most accurate kicker and second most accurate or no,
I think he's still first in history. But he was also, he also had a horrible year his last year.
All kickers do. That's why Nick Polk came to us the first time. Nick Polk came to us because he
got the surgery and Dallas and he's like out of his career. And with his baddest that year was,
he's still 85% out of the, and he's kicked in cold weather. 65 yard field goals. It's had a year off.
He was eligible to be picked up after when he was suspended for 10 games. Yep.
Change of scenery. Well, it's not even a change of scenery thing. He has to go to the
jets, but instead of the giants, because the giants got their other situation. The giants can't do
that. Right. But the jets can. What he's not in the, what he's not. I'd be careful before I
finish the rest of that sentence. I'd be careful. Okay. You're right. I don't know. I don't know.
I haven't gone through them. I don't know. Everybody calm down. Exactly. Exactly. Everybody just calm down.
But having said that when I'm trying to figure out who the quarterbacks going to be,
I actually would feel a lot better about where they were headed in the short term. Even if it is
just about the short term and next year and getting through next year, they have to try to win
as many games as they can. You can't sell me that when you're going and signing Geno Smith and
Carson wins. If you're going and you're somehow being able to convince Carla Murray to be here
or convince and not that Carla Murray's amazing, but he's a good player when he's healthy. I think
he's, I think he absolutely is a good quarterback when he's healthy. If you wanted to try to trade
for Matt Jones, I'm good with that. If that's a second round pick, I'm good with all of that. But
when you look at what the pool is, it's not terribly deep. And we're going to start to see some of
the dominoes fall here pretty quick. Yeah. I mean, they've had to talk, talk about this
in nausea. Like they've had to discuss this. This had to be the first conversation
about what they're, what they're going to do with the quarterback situation. I mean, maybe they're
still working the lines on seeing if Matt Jones is possible. See, but outside of what Rick,
what Rich was talking about, I think that trading for Matt Jones and he only having one year left
on his deals is a good thing. Yeah. Because it forces him to say, okay, well, listen,
I have an opportunity to win. So at this point, who cares? He has an opportunity to start.
He's not going to get that opportunity being anywhere else. So like, how valuable is the opportunity
to start from Matt Jones as far as being able to be able to be a starter? And he's got to say,
you know, if I play well here, I'll have opportunity somewhere else. Now, he knows he's going to have
opportunity somewhere else. But anyway, because of what he done and, you know, we saw Malik Willis get
get a starting job based off of people projecting what he's going to be. But for the jets, if he sucks,
then you just move on. You still got Carson wins there as the backup, but he's the starter. And if
he sucks, you lost the second round traffic. Well, you got to, but if he's good, you franchise tag is
as say, you ain't going nowhere. Hold up. We need to make sure we're going to hold on to you with
this franchise tag until we see if we're in position to get one of those quarterbacks. Now,
we can use our picks to get up. Get that quarterback. If not, then we might be just stuck with you.
Get your comments in on the ESPN, New York YouTube channel. Go there, subscribe,
but watch the show and get your comments in the live chat. We will go to some of them here shortly.
But I'm not going to lie. Some of them right now kind of suck. So how about we get some good comments
in there about what we're trying to do here with football. Here's your main, your main.
Here's Craig and Michigan. I can only got him Craig, your main. What's up, Craig? How are you, bud?
I'm doing great, man. Good afternoon, fellas. Look, I just, I don't usually call when they talk
about the Niners, but I am a 49er fan. And so when I hear you guys talk about Mac Jones,
my initial reaction, I immediately think of the NFC championship game, you know,
that year, Tray Lance broken ankle week two. Garoppolo out with a broken foot week 13.
Purdy had a bad elbow. I mean, they even couldn't even keep Josh Johnson in the game. He gets
goes out with a concussion. Next thing, next thing you know, McCaffrey is the emergency quarterback.
They bring Purdy back in, hand the ball off for a half a football. I mean, I just don't think
that memory is going to fade far enough for them to trade a former pro baller that's a proven
starter in their system on a $5 million contract. I mean, it's worked too much. There's nothing
they can hit for a second round pick. It's more valuable than that. But my opinion, which,
what's your opinion? I think a lot because what I'm thinking is they got, you guys got financial
problems, right? You haven't solved the brand and I you situation and how to get rid of him and
try and get that money off your books. And then now you got a Trent Williams problem where you
put him on a trade block. Now if you trade him, then it's fine because you got an opportunity to
get a lot of money to go out and do spending and go get some more stuff and free agency. But if you
don't, you're kind of cash strap and you're in a weird window where you got to try and win some
games because Christian McCaffrey's not too far from being going the other way. So I think that
second round draft pick, you can look at all the other people that you can trade for and Kyle
Shanahan can work as magic. He's worked with Sam Donald. He's worked it with, he's worked it with
Mac Jones. He worked it with Jimmy G. So you don't think he can go out and get one of these other
quarterbacks rather than Marcus Marriota, rather than Mitchell Trebuski and make them just as good
as what Mac Jones looked like and win games and play good high quality football. Is that not worth
the risk? I'm sorry with the commanders for sure, but the guys on my list I was looking at
for any franchise. I like Flacco, Russell Wilson and Kurt Cousins. Not because they're great thing.
We could all talk about their shortcomings, but I mean compared to the rest of the list,
they're the only guys with starter experience and you know what? They played well recently.
I'm not going to say Russell Wilson played well, but certainly not. I mean, and those guys are going
to be too expensive going to what you just said to sign. They will cost more than Mac Jones,
I believe in. So that may be Flacco. I mean, they get that flacco curve about the same price.
Well, Kurt Cousins is going to be free. If he doesn't get any starting jobs, his contract is getting
paid by this contract to be paid by these Falcons. Yep. And look, I'm the Mac Jones thing.
The only reason we brought it back up is because Adam Schefter brought it up. And Adam Schefter
had initially said a few weeks back, they are not trading Mac Jones. And that makes all the sense
in the world. But then they brought it up again. He brought it up last week on unsportsmanly.
If I were the jets, I would call the 49ers and offer a second round pick because that is a premium
pick. I think I'll second and you can have this this fourth competitive story pick I just got.
I'll ask you this. If you're the 49ers and you thought about that, you got that kind of an offer
for Jones, how about they just sign back Jimmy G to be the backup? How about they just sign
a tie ride Taylor? I mean, they can bring any of those guys and I wouldn't I wouldn't sign Taylor
just based on the injury, although Jimmy G does get hurt too. But my point is simply that you can
go and get someone who if Kyle Shanahan is this genius, this you're talking about, which he's
proven to be if he is this guy that is a quarterback guru, he's going to be able to make somebody
into a serviceable back. Hey, or he go get or he go get Carson wins. And Carson wins play
well until he heard his elbow. And if he's the one that can do that with Sam Darnold, Sam gives him
a lot of credit for his development before he went to Minnesota and then on to Seattle.
Why wouldn't you think the same thing with Matt Jones? Chris is in Wata next ESPN New York. Chris,
what's going on? What's up guys? I'm just going to piggyback off what he said, but from the
jet perspective, you guys want to give away a premium pick, which we could end up being a guy
like Breeze Hall. We just spent months around about being that he's a culture guy throwing you
built around. So you don't give up premium picks for a guy who's most likely a bridge quarterback.
When I'm also going to say like to Kobe percent for a fourth, I'm not doing that either because
again, I'm not saving for a bridge quarterback when you could draft a guy. But you don't know
that Matt Jones is a bridge quarterback. The point about the second round pick is this. He can
be your guy. He could be your long-term guy. Just like that. You used a pick to draft that.
Like I'm taking Thai Simpson over Mac Jones for that premium pick. Thai Simpson won't be there.
We're built for our our our our trajectory. We still have five picks next year that are all premium
picks, but we don't. But guys, one of them invest in Mac Jones with a second round pick that
just doesn't make sense. Just like it doesn't make sense. Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris, can I explain
it to you? Can I explain it to you? The jets. The jets aren't hurting for picks.
They got more picks than they need players, right? They have they have five first round draft picks
in the next two years. So so what I'm saying is let's let's talk about the reclamation projects
that we've seen over the last. Let me finish. Let me let's talk about let's talk about the
reclamation projects that we've seen over the last couple of years. We thought we thought we thought
Banker Mayfield couldn't play turns out he's he's the Tampa thinks he's their franchise quarterback
and they win a lot of games with them. Now helping them out right now. Let me let me finish.
Well, he'll let you finish now because he's gone. He couldn't shut up. Right. Get out.
We shut up. We talk about we thought Sam Darnock couldn't play. Turns out,
he's a franchise quarterback and a Super Bowl winning to quarterback the first one to win
that outstanding class. We thought that Daniel Jones couldn't play. Daniel Jones has played play
well enough that he's demanding $50 million a year. Brothers deserved to not anyapolis has put
Anthony Richardson on the training block and told him we go seek a trade because they believe
in Daniel Jones. Right. What makes us think that Mac Jones isn't made out of the same stuff
that those other guys were. He got drafted to a place where he was a pro baller his first year.
Then the his genius Hall of Fame quarter coach decided to make his defensive coordinator,
the offensive coordinator. Didn't work out worse roster and football. Yep.
Went to went down to Jacksonville just back up Trevor Lawrence understood. Set
last year behind Brock Purdy got in and won five out of three games. Not only just with him being
the only difference without Kettle with Falk Pascal, uh, Pazel healthy with no brand in IUK
and he and Trent Williams banged up and he won five out of eight games.
What he's proven up to this point. He's proven up to this point more than what those other guys
that were reclamation projects were before they got their opportunity. Maybe not Sam Kassam
when 14 and two the year before we just lived we just lived in a world we watched Malik Willis.
Somebody think Malik Willis have the his sack at the way he did in in Tennessee.
Think that he's a franchise quarterback. So why wouldn't you so why wouldn't you take a risk with
a second round draping which you have to for the opportunity to maybe get your future franchise
quarterback as well outside of hoping that in 2027 you stink just bad enough for one of those
other quarterback to be available. It's just such a low risk move. It's silly to not do it.
Silly right because if you do have the guy you pay him after the year or you franchise tag or
you franchise tag or you tag him whatever it is you've got the guy even though you only
happen for five million this year beyond that you have him in a good position for you the ball is
in your court completely that's all. So when you talk about it it's too much to give up a second
round pick for Mac Jones. Don't get get a clue about where you are as a franchise. What player
is going to come in as a second round pick at number let's just say it's number 44 and make more
of an impact than Mac Jones would as a quarterback this coming season. Like I would actually believe
that the Jets could become a playoff team this year if Mac Jones was here. I'm not going to sit
here and try to tell you he's going to win an MVP but he I've seen what he did with San Francisco
and I know about the coach that they had but that coach has done it with other guys who have left
and had more success elsewhere. So maybe that's what he needed and just I don't think we I don't
think we really give enough credit to Mac Jones for the absolute disaster that the Patriots were
the last two years that he was there. Yeah it was it was a Matt Patricia was your offensive coordinator
dude. How is that possible and and you somehow think that that's a reflection on this quarterback?
Come on. Just get a clue on Bart this one I'm just going to bring it up because it's ridiculous
okay and I just want to get your reaction. Kev Chad I have a trading will McDonald for Brock
Bowers. You're not getting Brock Bowers for Will McDonald. Come on. You got to be better. What are we
talking about? Yeah. Be better. Be better than that. Road dog. Bart's t-shirt reminds me it's hunting
season. Part is a picture of a little baby deer on the front of his shirt. Are there bucks?
Are there bucks? It's not breeding season is it? I don't think so. I don't know man like where I
used to live in South Jersey. There was a lot more deer all over the place than where I am now.
Then he just dares humping in your backyard. I think that happened once or twice.
It's Barton Carlin ESPN New York about Jean and Jersey Jersey City next on ESPN New York.
You know what's up dude. Hey what's going on guys. How are you?
Go go man. I just got to issue it with the with the whole Mac Jones thing. I heard you guys
yesterday with the tour with the tour talks and I just feel like both those guys aren't really
that they're not that good. I feel like we got like different views on on these quarterbacks.
And as far as our Mac Patricia, I feel like the Jeff got the same thing and Aaron Glen right now
like they don't have a coach as far as what they're that knows what he's doing. So we've been
Mac Jones here is going to be like bringing him to the Patriots all over again. Well they know
they have an offensive coordinator man. Frank Wright is a former professional
starting quarterback in NFL and he's developed guys. He won a Super Bowl as a quarterback's
coach. Last off as a coordinator in Philly. We can't say this is apples to apples man.
Bill Bella check. How about this? Geno is better than Mac Jones though. I'd say that.
Minus that one year he had an Oakland last year or in Vegas. I feel like Geno got a bad
rap with that team last year and I feel like I prefer Geno over him. We're talking we're talking
about a guy that's a little younger and a guy that can be your future quarterback. If he
didn't tell me this when when when Baker may feel went out to LA for that year and then went down
to Tampa. Did you think he was going to be the long-term solution? People talk about Kyle Trash.
No, people talk about Kyle Trash. When Sam Donald left and went to Carolina and then went
went to that's like that's like three quarterbacks out of like a hundred. Okay,
guys that leave and go elsewhere and they don't pan out. Well, even Mitchell Trebrisky when he had
to come in and replace Josh Allen look comparable. Marcus Marriota look good a couple years ago
and and and and and watching it. We just trying to get a bridge quarterback. We're in our horrible.
We're not looking for you know, but if it turns out to be that way great. But we just don't want
to be a joke. You want us to go get Gardner Minto? Khalil. You want us to trade for Sam? How?
Khalil over here on the chat. You guys were laughing at Mac Jones when he was in New England. Now
you're just showing me on him. Yes, we were lying. Yeah, we were laughing. Just like people
people laughed at us. Oh, Gino Smith. You heard him. They wrote me off. But I ain't right back.
We were laughing at Sam Donald. Everybody was laughing at Sam Donald. All the just was stupid for
taking him third overall. Look at they passed on the March Jackson. They passed on Josh Allen. He
wanted Super Bowl. You right. We were laughing because it was because it was funny back then.
But it ain't funny now and he may be the guy that can make the difference.
QMC Quackers. Sports Illustrated said Mac Jones could be the next Sam Donald.
I wouldn't rely on Sports Illustrated since that's mostly AI right now. Yeah.
I don't know how many people actually work for Sports Illustrated anymore versus
how many people right have been replaced by AI already. Correct.
They got weird. I just saw something and it looked like these new like projections because
everybody's based everything off of the people that were picked. Yeah.
And it looked like they had the jets picking Caleb Downs ninth.
Maybe they had them moving down. Yeah, they had to have trades and stuff like that.
So like that's, you know, I think Caleb Downs is a live dog. Him and Mika's Fitzpatrick
gives you tremendous or if they move up, if they take RVL Reese second and move up and get Caleb
Downs, say 10th or something like that, they trade a future pick. Good happen.

Based on what happened in free agency day one, it's very interesting from the Jets standpoint.
He's still barred at number two, even after what they did yesterday,
has the Jets taking David Bailey. The defensive end from Texas Tech, the
edge rusher. Here's what he says. Jets have maximized their caps base so far,
make a Fitzpatrick, Joseph O'Suy, but the work is far from done to fix a weak pass rush,
which still needs young talent. No FBS player had more sacks last year than Bailey, 14-and-a-half,
who was dominant during his loan season at Texas Tech. He also forced a total of eight
fumbles over the last two years and is one of the most violent disruptors in the class.
Yeah. And like, Arville reached your project and remember, he only had to six sacks.
That's why I was surprised with who they picked yesterday because I thought they were going
David Bailey. You know, he didn't disappoint either. Listen, just because you win the, just because you
win the, the combine, so to speak, him and Sonny styles. You still have to put the tape on.
And Bailey is a dog and he has the ability to run at a 451 to be one of these stand-up guys too.
So it's going to be a tough decision, but it'd be interesting to see what's going on.
He's got Arville, first of all, he's still as Mendoza going one, obviously. He's got Reese going
three to the Cardinals. Four, he's got the Titans taking tape at receiver, even though they signed
Wandaile Robinson. Five, Giants, Caleb Downs. So he hasn't gone in safety at Caleb Downs.
Okay. Six. Well, they got the linebacker. So we ain't got to worry about him
wrapping his linebacker because they got Edmunds. Right. So back to who he is.
Caleb Downs makes sense. And that's that's why he says he says here, this pick ultimately came
down to Downs and Sonny styles, but adding Edmunds reduces the need for a linebacker at this spot.
Browns, Maui, know it. Seven has the commanders taking Jeremiah law. I'm sorry, Browns,
Maui, know it's six commanders taking Jeremiah law at seven styles eight to the Saints. Man,
sword delaying the corner from LSU at nine to the chiefs. And the chiefs obviously just lost two
corners yesterday makes it makes sense. You know, it makes sense though because they replace these
guys like they always do with somebody cheap and they get somebody that they coach up and like,
damn, this dude was a ball, but that's what I talk about when I talk about keeping. Remember,
they they drafted Sneet and and Trent McDuffey McDuffey. Yep. And they replay, they can replace them and
jailer watch them get them a matter and they can replace them and get them for cheap all over again,
same position. So they take the lane there, the best corner in the draft. And then 10, they had
the Bengals taking Rubin Bay. I mean, they're obviously going to lose Tray Hendrickson. Yeah,
they draft, but they brought in Quiddy Pay, right? No, the Bengals didn't bring in Quiddy Pay. They
brought they brought in their password yesterday. The Bengal Bengals, but they need to and they
draft the one boy in my face. Yeah, might be Brian Cook. Yeah, Muffet. Yeah. So from Seattle, but
they already got the kid that they drafts from A&M. They had the they had to buy Miller. No,
he had to buy Miller numbers. He had he actually had got from Cleveland.
You know, you know, you know the guy from Cleveland won the defense player of the year.
Miles Garrett. Yeah, he had to Miles Garrett numbers. Seriously, in the workout.
I don't even get to give a ding for that. He had to Miles Garrett numbers.
You know what I'm saying? Sometimes it's just I try. Anyway, the Bane thing, I really, I almost
hope for his sake. He doesn't end up in Cincinnati because that's it just feels like a death wish.
No, yeah, offense. No, you can't say that with the defense, though, I or without with the
organization with how they handled themselves. It's not a death wish in terms of winning and losing.
It's a death wish in terms of your earning potential for your career. That's what it feels like
at least. If you're not, if you're not, you know, Jamar Chase or Joe Burl or or Higgins for that
matter, that's all. Yeah, but I mean, you go with that offense, man, you can pin your ears back for
sure. Should I get Ben at a shape by the Nick loss last night? That's now two in a row.
I'm not going to sit here and lie and tell you I stayed up and watch the clippers. I did not.
I saw the highlights and I saw the score this morning. That's where I am. I'm not watching a
West Coast Nick game at this juncture of the season. It's not happening. See, but it's one of those
things that come on late and I did watch it. Kawaii was doing his Kawaii thing and it's clippers
team is different with with these young guys. Yeah, man, they're fast and like now you got
Brooke Lopez, you know, shooting the three and being a stretch five, but playing a lot more
minutes than he anticipated. But this team is one of the hotter teams since they made the trade.
But should I be getting back to shape about the fact that they've lost two in a row? Yes,
not because you lost two in a row. They lost to a clippers team that's at the bottom of the West
and a team in the Lakers that didn't have LeBron. So you're trying to ask yourself, what kind of teams
do we struggle against? And it's these athletic teams that can run down and up and down the court.
Right? That's why they struggle against the pistons because they got a bunch of athletes that
run up and down the court. It's not about the size. They find with the teams that have size.
They struggle with the teams that get up and down and now with Boston having taken back,
their team that gets up and down. So that's another team team like Charlotte would be a bad match
up because now they get up and down. They can shoot the three and it's so like it's concerning
because we talk about the type. We talk about, you know, the spurs. I don't know why they got the
spurs number. The spurs are big, but they find a way to beat the spurs. But everybody else they
struggle with. So now you get in concern like, damn, like now we got to try to avoid Boston.
But how do we go avoid Boston and Detroit? Well, we got to play one of them. Yeah, like I hope
we don't have to play two of them. Listen, if you're going to be really in a big problem against
athletic teams, that's going to really kill you in the playoffs. That's because if those,
if that's going to be based solely on that's that's ultimately what the nicks, uh,
kryptonite is, then they're in trouble. But I'm not there yet. Like I still,
all right, they lost it. They lost last night. They're inconsistent and that's just been the case
of what they've been all year. So I'm not surprised that they go out last week and beat the Nuggets by
40 on Friday. Yeah. And then have the rest of this happen the last two days against the
Lakers and the Clippers. I'm not surprised at all by it. So I
I'm nowhere near being able to really tell what the nicks are
until we get to the postseason. And even then, I'm going to feel like,
I mean, until I get to two round two, round three. Okay, I'll get a sense then. I mean,
they're three and two on this tough spot that we thought, you know, this tough part of their schedule
west coast swing. That's not horrible. We thought we thought three and two was what we were
hoping that they would be. We just don't like the order in which they're three and two.
Barton Carlin, ESPN, New York, and on the ESPN, New York, YouTube channel,
eight hundred nine, one nine, three, seven, seven, seven, six. They're watching. They're watching.
Who? Oh, no, I didn't throw it to him yet. It's all right. I'm not trying to catch off guard.
It's all right. I know I caught you off guard before that's partially on me.
But you, I mean, it did kind of have a look on your face like you were looking off into
the stairs. Am I wrong about that? Let me come in. Let's talk to me. You're out there.
Yes or no? Oh, you know, things happen.
Nicks had a rough shooting night the past two nights. It's, are you worried?
It's your boy Bridges. Are you worried? No, it's not anything to worry about. I think
tough back to back in LA. This Laker team, there, there might be something to be said that they
are better off without LeBron. That's what I can't wait to get his ass about it there.
Seriously? Because they don't get financial stability. They have to build a team
around Luca Dantes and what his, it's strange. It's time to go all in. Yeah.
All in on the Luca team. Yeah. LeBron is done in LA. This team looked a lot better without him.
And then last night was just more of a case of being a back to back in Los Angeles. I think
these guys had a little mini vacation out there. We used to have when I was at SNY,
we had this guy, I won't say his name, but he didn't do anything wrong, but he was, he was very
funny because he was the classic guy that if your team lost in anything, he would come up to you,
just side or right up to you. Are you concerned? Are you worried? Are you worried it's getting
away from here? You know, it would do it with a really genuinely concerning look at his face.
Lost two in a row. Yeah. Yo, yo, I funny enough, right? I don't know what it is about people
that serve the food or clean the buildings at places, but they be like these like sarcastic jerks
on the low. So when I was in, when I was in Baltimore, our eight man named was Mani and we love
Mani so much that we put him in our team picture. And like, we kicked the player off the team because
he yelled at Mani. Like got cut. Like, yo, you, you destroyed nobody talking to the man.
Every time we would come on Mondays, Mani blight. Hey, do you guys win?
Like, Mani, I know you know we win or not. You jerk and want and want over with the jets. Yeah.
You like, make sure a bar. You guys win. Like bro, all right, man. Not today, dog. Yeah, not today.
Our best, um, you know what breaker was the guy who was the janitor. Yeah, that's why
guy named Carlos. He was, he was so funny. It's always so dry. You know, but you know, he saw it.
Yeah. Oh, yeah. No, but he was from Ecuador and he would go up like Brian Custer. Yeah.
When Brian was there, um, huge cowboy fan. Oh, yeah. Huge cowboy fan. And Brian would have,
like if they lost a bad game, he would go, Mr. Brian, what happened? Yeah.
He would just go up and sidle up to you and the way he did it was so amazing.
And you couldn't, you couldn't get punched worse by anybody else than you could by Carlos.
It was so good. Yeah.

Nicks are fine. One misstep Ironman bridges has a bad game over reaction. That from aid. Is he
here's the problem? No aid. And you're right. I mean, he was awful the other day. But the problem
for him is always going to be he's never going to get the benefit of the doubt. Like the dude's going
to have to put together a really good season for people to start believing in him. He had seven
last night after the goose egg on Sunday. He needs to be better. But the inconsistency is what drives
me insane. So that's why like last week when we're having this discussion, I don't get too wrapped
up in how tough this long road trip or this stretch was going to be. Okay, I get that. I know that.
But I didn't feel like it was going to tell me anything about him unless they completely went
in the tank. And what's happened? It's been inconsistency. You win by 40 against a really good team.
And then you lose to the Lakers and the Clippers. So what am I supposed to do with that? Do I think
all of a sudden they suck? No, I don't think that I did see a question today on first take,
which I was very surprised by. On the bottom of the screen, it said, are the next closer to a
title or a relevancy? Like we're being a little harsh here. Are we not like every time you want to
get on us? I'm sure that might have been to tweak Stephen A a little bit. But I don't think that
was necessarily a fair thing to get into. Are they closer to a relevancy than a title? I think
it's pretty clear. They're closer to a title. I mean, they get a relevancy. No, not a relevancy.
Yeah, they're saying like mediocrity, right? Because they see Boston coming back. They see the
pissant. I'm just going based on what the wording was. Yeah, yeah. We thought it was going to be
Oklahoma City's world. They're going to be the many go to say dynasty. That may still be the
truth. But then we see what Wimby's doing. And we know that they only got the opportunity to get
better. And so you're and we know that this with this small window with Brunson and everything that
he's dealing with and have to get a new contract with that breakup. And you know, it's going to be a
pending extension for cat. Do or do you not go out and get Yannis next year? Then we see Yannis
play, man. Just like, God, this dude's unstoppable. You know what I mean? Like when you watch him play
coming back, even though they're still losing though. Yeah. But man, he just he looks like one of the
best five players. Like you watch him. You like that's different as you're watching him play right
now. It feels like he's trying to prove a point. Yes. And and the thing is he's reminding everybody
just how good he is. Yeah. And the issue is like when you saw when you asked yourself, that's really
what this last stretch of the season feels like before he gets traded. But he didn't have to do that.
He could have just set up for the rest of the year. Really? What he's doing is helping the box. Right.
Well, you know, he's screwing about the same time. He's screwing him by. Because he's screwing
him with that pick. Yes. But they lose in any way. So it's the best of all world. They're like,
who we still lose it? Nobody. But they also I don't want to say increasing his value,
but at least maintaining his value. It's not like they could get ripped off at this point. And then
listen, no matter what you do when you're trading away, Yannis, you're losing the trade. You know,
you're losing the trade. Yeah, unless you unless you get the first pick and you get one of those
dudes, one of the boozer or somebody like that, you get a generational talent to build around. Right.
Because this is a good draft to have a top pick. It is a good kid from Kansas or a boozer or
what an old guy. Yeah, I wouldn't take the kid from Kansas, Darren Peterson. He kind of, listen,
I think he's getting a little bit of a bad rap, but he is he's incredibly skilled. Well, just let
the players, he's going to go back to school. I'm going to see a couple of them. Well, they come up
to come up with a big number as you'd expect, but there's a few of these guys. I'm going to see
this week in the big 12 tournament, who are really good players. Peterson, Debansa from BYU.
There's another guy that's going to be like a top pick. If you want to see some of the top picks
playing in the NCA's or watching them play down the stretch of the season, big 12 tournament
this week is a good place to do it. I've got some good, good teams.
Houston is really good again. Really good. Barton Carlin ESPN, New York and on the ESPN, New York
YouTube channel. Nick's are mid to great. Depends on the night and the mindset. I think Bart,
though, does have a point when he talks about the matchups and what it looks like when you got
athletic teams get up and down the floor. It absolutely does get a little bit trickier for them
from that matchup. They got up with the matchup. I mean, if you have those teams that are much
more athletic and getting up and down the floor, then that's a problem. They have to figure out
how they're going to respond to that. Do they go smaller? Does Mitch get taken out? Do you find a
way to let Kat play like he played in Minnesota? Let him be a little guy and Rudy Gober was the big
guy. Yeah. Yeah. Because that's when they went to the championship. And so I Mitch through that?
No, that Mitch be the big guy. That's what I'm saying. That town's play like his power forward.
Right. You know, he I feel like sometimes when you help you against the athleticism,
because you're still going to be lumbering a little bit more up and down the court.
Yeah, but then maybe that means you got to you got to you got to make a decision in how you get it
more athletic. Maybe sham it and you take bridges out. Michael K is here suited and booted.
We call that we know in her, but we call that we call that casket sharp. You can get buried in
that suit. That's how good that suit. That could be the last. That's ironic because Michael thinks
about death pretty much every day. Yep. And shaking his head. Yes, he is coming up next. Anything but
death for the next two hours. You get gold. To wrap off it with that's too, too. He could. He could
run. Look at that. He's getting me get the pocket square. Look like he erased my taxes though.
