You've had your worst or most memorable or painstaking losses.
I think Revenge Tour works well enough.
Revenge Tour?
For that, yeah.
What's that?
That could be, I don't know, I don't know Ottawa, where how the scales are tipped between
the Sabers and Senators, because they've each had their moments against their other.
Back to back years, yeah.
I think maybe the Sabers are more annoying to Ottawa than vice versa in Playoff history.
Sure.
Is it 99, the Sabers beat them in the first round?
Yeah.
As a seven or an eight.
Yeah, right.
Ottawa was the better team, you know, the Sabers just knocked them out.
And that aside from that, and then 06 and 07, back to back, that's it, that's their playoff
history.
Plant?
Oh, right.
Oh, right.
Yeah, no.
Yeah, we probably are way more annoying to them than we, 3-1 than they figured us.
Yeah.
Sabers over Ottawa in series.
That's right.
Unless I've forgotten another one.
But yeah, that's the only Sabers game seven win.
I would like to change that.
Yes.
That would be good.
I would like for the Sabers to go into whatever year of existence this is for them, 56 or
7, having at least a second game seven win in their in their history.
I still remember the morning of their last game seven, because their last playoff happens
to be their last playoff game in the spring of 2011, I remember going to the park.
I think I was running back then, or yeah, yeah, that was in the early days of me running.
And I just started thinking about how badly I wanted them to come through in that spot,
you know, just because of their history and our history of sports fans, you know, and
it felt very sort of on brand to me.
I don't want to be the here we go guy.
I don't want to hear from you.
I don't want you to have another log to throw on your fire of angst.
We all feel it.
We all know.
But just come on Sabers and that just come through in a game seven for us.
Just good.
I thought about it while I was running.
I went home and wrote, I don't think I've ever done this, like I thought it through while
I was jogging and then came home and just wrote, you know, it wasn't a long piece, but
you know, eight or ten paragraph piece about why I needed this.
We all need this so badly.
Then the game started and they just were just not up to it at all.
It was just an awful game seven.
Oh, so disappointing.
And Lindy pulled Miller at four nothing.
Brad Boyce scored early in the third after a Ville Lano goal.
Yeah.
That's their last playoff game.
Lano's on the flyers.
Right.
Well, he wins game six for the flyers.
That's right.
Brad Boyce from Derek Roy and Tyler Myers at 1521 of the third on a power play against
Brian Boucher is the last Sabers playoff goal.
And it made the score Philadelphia five Buffalo two.
No one cares.
And that's one of three goalies.
The flyers used in the series, but brosky, right, Michael Layton, yep.
You can't lose to that.
No, you cannot lose to a team that doesn't have a goalie and they like really you need
to do a post game show for the series.
It's okay.
I think it's okay.
The only reason they were in it was the goalies were horrible.
They got outplayed that whole series, but they didn't vanish.
Corp, I'm like behind the net in one of the games that they won.
Like they just were getting away with absolute murder because the goalies were so bad and
they still couldn't win it.
It might have been that game where they chased a goalie game six Easter Sunday to win the
series.
And they still lost.
Yeah, that's the lane.
Oh, going over time.
You get a reference.
Right.
Against Chris Butler.
Yeah.
Was that ever brutal?
So anyway, yeah.
I mean, you'd like you'd like to see again, moving on, I would like I'd love to see another
game seven win.
Holy cow.
Daniel Briar scored six goals in that series.
Yeah.
Well, I tasted good too.
He wasn't on the Sabers then folks, by the way, just in case you needed to straight
Rob Neeter.
Yeah.
Briar had been on the Sabers and had left for Philadelphia.
Lano was to become a Saber that summer when they couldn't get Brad Richards.
And they had a they had a press conference and they sort of disagreed about what position
he would play.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like Darcy said, oh, he'll play center.
He can play center for us.
And then Lano was asked afterward like, I'm not really a center on.
We went from there.
Yeah.
Should the Islanders speak a consideration in the revenge tour?
Almost everybody can be.
I mean, it's a long time.
Yeah.
I mean, there's definitely there's there's, I mean, the 80s.
He's riddled with the well riddled.
I mean, there's just a there's a few series there that the Sabers were great 80.
The Islanders were getting good and we couldn't we couldn't beat them.
78 and 80.
Okay.
I'm not sure 78's right.
80's right.
Conference finals.
I know there's more than one series.
I know.
Yeah.
80 is Lindy and Billy Smith.
Yeah.
Okay.
People say I refuse to believe this.
People say the Islanders are good and fun.
I'm going to have to I'm going to have to try that on.
You're not ready to say anything.
No.
No, they have been like to me, they are still.
I think of the Islanders.
There's a big there's a big defenseman that used to fight.
They're Karen's.
That's the Islanders to me.
Like six foot seven can't move.
They're going to block all the shots and pull you down constantly because I that's who
the Islanders are and that they'll know in my head.
This is definitely not right because it's in my head.
That's what I think the Islanders are and they have mostly been that team, you know,
without air.
Karen's obviously.
That's good.
You've been that team right up until now, the big differences that Shaefer has maybe
changed everything.
That's my daughter's friend, the rookie defense man.
Matthew Shaefer.
He is a smoke show like he's hot.
So I have not sat with them because I still and predisposed to like if I'm looking for
a game, I see the Islanders and I think of Eric cans and I just like I don't want
to watch this team play.
So I have not done the work on them, but it's possible that they are a very different
and fun team now.
I mean, it's probably right.
Shaefer, Shaefer is, you know, he's going to win rookie of the year like in a waltz.
He's fan that waltz.
I mean, there's other good rookies, but he's he's going to win it.
He's been, he's got, he's, he's set the all time record for goals by an 18 year old.
That's pretty good.
Yeah.
He's really.
I'm liking this thought experiment of who each team is best represented by in my
brain.
I don't have anybody for the Islanders unless it's like from way back, you know, like I
just, you know, they've been irrelevant to me for decades.
I always make fun of how the Sabers and Islanders have never played a good game.
Right.
And I'm not sure I'm wrong.
And it's last.
Yeah.
And I've ever fun games.
I want to largely blame the Islanders for that because even when the Sabers were fun
with Grotto and that was first blasting off and Taste Thompson first started playing
center because the walls can't defend them anymore, you know, or all that, right?
The Sabers were a, were a wagon offensively.
They'd play the Islanders and you'd be like, uh, nothing's happening because Eric Karnes
is blocking all the shots and pulling everyone down.
I can't, every time you say it, I have to say it too.
I'm done carrying around bulky drinks.
And I'm definitely done cleaning melted candy out of my pockets.
So yeah, I traded them both in for fruity rainbow five hour energy shots.

I'm Brian.
I work at Unite Healthcare.
So Brian, why do you care?
I care because I don't want to leave anybody behind.
I oversee one of the biggest resource center in Unite Healthcare.
I see people walked in in my office every day, just like my parents.
They have no idea about the healthcare.
I feel like they are my uncles, aunties.
I treat it as people's life family.
I'm Brian, and I'm committed to care.
I don't know who I...
I have to...
I don't know.
I'm really stumped.
It can't be like trachea.
You know?
I'm interested in that.
Right, good.
Since.
I mean, 30, 40 years, I've got to have somebody else in mind.
Well, what Pittsburgh feel like is a playoff series?
I mean, it's an easy story to write.
Crosby, Melkin, Latang, versus the newbies.
Throw Carlson in there, too.
And Carlson's not going to go back as long, but still he's that category of player.
It's an easy one to write.
Pittsburgh in Buffalo.
I mean, that's a one, Mario, Casparitis.
That's George Armstrong.
That's a trivia buff.
And that's a game six overtime loss with a chance to win the series.
Stracco.
The tying goal that puck up in the air.
Nobody knows where is it.
Oh, it's on the ice and in the net.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Just, you know, we found out in game seven, it would have been allowed.
Just catch it and throw it in the ground.
Right.
That's all you need to do.
Warner.
That's all you need to do.
Just catch it and throw it.
I don't know.
I just stuff it in your pants.
Right.
I watched the Armstrong goal.
So that's 1978 or nine.
Best of three.
Wow.
And it's a game in the odd.
On a week day, week end afternoon.
Pittsburgh Buffalo, one, one to overtime, maybe.
OK.
And that's the name of the guy who scored for Pittsburgh.
George Armstrong.
I think.
Wasn't there a famous?
Am I right?
There's a famous George Armstrong from the Leafs.
Yes.
This is not the same person.
I maybe I've got the name wrong because of the other guy.
Yeah, I don't know.
And that's sure there were two.
Now, I'm wrong on the name.
OK.
Who is it?
I don't remember.
I don't remember.
I feel like I've been walking around
with the name George Armstrong for 20 years.
For that goal specifically.
But it's wrong.
That's tough one.
It's four to three is the final.
And the George Ferguson.
Oh, OK.
George Ferguson.
It's almost the same.
It's one letter different, but yeah.
Sorry.
George Armstrong's like maybe the Hall of Fame or something.
Less Leafs Cup.
OK.
It's George Armstrong.
George Ferguson from Colin Campbell.
Oh, jeez.
And Greg Shepard at 47 seconds of overtime on Sova
to win the series for Pittsburgh.
Sabers out shooting badly, but lose.
Wouldn't you know it?
So I feel like that.
I mean, I think that's a beatable team.
They'll are, but.
Yeah.
I think I would prefer to avoid the certain future Hall
of Famer last gasp series.
Myself, you know, I'd rather not to deal with that.
Especially, I mean, what are we talking about here, right?
It's not going to be a first round series.
You're not going to be a wild card playing them.
They're not winning their division.
So it's conference finals.
So they've won two series.
I've won two series.
It's Crosby and Melkin and Latang and Carlson
with a chance to go play for the Stanley Cup.
Well, that could change.
Check, please.
That could change.
I don't want any part of that.
They could fall into the wild card.
They think, okay, they could.
Sure.
Yeah, they're not rock solid.
No, yeah, three points up.
Right.
That's right.
They would need Columbus to make the move
because nobody else in that division can do it.
So it's going to be two of three.
Pittsburgh Islanders Columbus will be in,
two of those three teams will play each other
in the first round.
And the other one goes, if they make it
to the wild card, depending on the boss line,
whoever's the lowest.
Yeah, right.
The one C just saying how it works,
like the two and three in each division play
and the bottom, the worst wild card plays
whoever the top division winner is.
We are not out of line.
So you don't play that every day.
Right.
So you could end up at the Sabers.
All right, just stay.
Again, there's another of these moments
where you're riding around your car,
you're kind of detached from the Sabers,
but you know it's going well,
but like you're just sort of checking in.
If the Sabers get the one seed,
two points out.
Okay.
They could, they'll play the lowest seeded wild card
that whoever that is, either division,
it doesn't matter.
That's the only thing that crosses over early in the playoffs.
Do you want a fun thought experiment?
Maybe for this?
Sure.
I mean, George Ferguson, Casparitis,
it's all with a smile on my face.
I mean, this is just like that all happened.
Here we go.
Here comes a new era and a new opportunity.
We're all ready to be heard.
We're all ready to be heard again.
I was talking to my friend Mike last night, you know him.
I had my name on the Sabers tickets,
and we built a, I mean,
we had a lot of people at one point, our group,
maybe as many as 30 at one point, split tickets,
I don't know, 12 or 16 tickets at one point at peak,
then gradually more and more people lost interest,
including myself.
And now Mike runs the operation.
He's got his name on the seats,
and I called him last night about something else,
and I'm like, just curious like, how is it going?
I mean, you guys have to be over the moon about the season
and tickets and everything.
And he said, of course,
and he said, we just had our playoff draft.
Now, I'm an overthinker, you might say.
And when I ran the ticket group, what we did,
the Sabers right around now,
he said yesterday, last night to me,
that they had not invoiced him yet.
Okay.
So I guess I'll go with that.
Like I don't get that email anymore,
that they hadn't sent out the playoff invoice.
But when I ran it,
what they would do is you'd have to pay
for the first two rounds, like around now.
Mm-hmm.
And then if they won the first round,
then they would send out the invoice for rounds three and four.
Okay.
You know, that's big money.
Yep.
That's what it is now, especially.
So what we would do is we would divide up,
this goes back to 07 because they never want to run,
if not one or single rounds and then,
we would divide up the dissemination of the tickets
by the invoice.
So we drafted rounds one and two together.
And you didn't necessarily know, as is the case now.
Who you're going to be playing?
Not only that, home or away.
Right.
So let's say,
so Mike had a draft with his guys.
And he did it with everything on the table, all four rounds.
Oh wow.
What's your first pick for a game?
If you could go to any game, now the later it is,
the more expensive it gets,
and the less likely, of course,
if you pick game one of the first round, you're in.
They're going to make it.
There's going to be a game and you're going to go to it.
But if you want to pick the last,
the last potential home game,
which would be either game six or game seven of the final,
you could do that.
So you're actually choosing between game three
or game four of that series,
which means you're making a bet on,
will they be at home?
If you bet, if you pick game four of any series
and they're the road team, there is no game four
because they'd be on the road.
Makes sense?
Sure.
So then how do I?
Just take the first round, just take the first round.
There are up to four home games in that series.
There'll be at least two.
There could be four, it could be three.
And the sabers call them, that's how they call them.
It's their, it's our game one.
Yep.
Whether it's game three or game one,
it doesn't matter.
They're calling it game one on the invoice.
Right.
So that's what you're choosing.
And if you choose game four of that series,
that's game seven of the series,
which, you know, if they don't play it,
either because the sabers are on the road
or because the series is over, you don't go.
There's no game to go to.
You get your money back.
So somebody picked game four of the final.
Of the finals, like, I was gonna say that's,
I think what I would do too.
Really?
Because what ticket would you want to have more
than that ticket?
How could you not have that ticket?
You'd want to have that ticket
and then that's my best shot to get it, I think.
And furthermore, I get money back if they don't make it.
Okay, that'll buffer my sadness when the season is over
because that probably is gonna be, like,
what, 400 bucks a ticket or more?
That's what I was thinking, actually.
So that's nice.
I'm getting close to a grand in a refund.
And, but if it happens, I've got the game.
You're out of glass.
Now, again, do you make a good point?
I mean, it's possible that that game will never exist
if they don't have home ice.
What percent chance is there that that game exists
in Buffalo, like point something, percent?
The avalanche exists too.
Like, you have to make the finals,
well, they don't have to make the finals either.
Right, you have more points than the oilers
and the oilers make the finals than your home.
Just like it would have been in O6.
It would have been Edmonton in Buffalo, Game 1
and then maybe all the way to Game 7.
So if I pick Game 3, that's either,
what, Game 5 or Game 6 then?
Correct.
And maybe that is what I would pick.
And the finals.
Yeah, over the final.
More, it's going to happen probably
unless I get swept, right?
So if I have home ice, I've got it.
If I don't, I need it to go six.
I think rather than pick the potential Game 7
that I might not even have in my building,
I think Game 3 of the final might be my first pick.
I'm there.
You could get the cup.
It might be the cup.
Yeah, it might be the cup.
Brett Hull was Game 3 of the final.
At home of that series.
Right.
Isn't it the best?
Like all those years having tickets, that is why.
This is why to get to, I mean, I love drafts.
To get to the draft and then ultimately
to get to the, get in the building for some of this,
it would depend to me on how many picks do I get?
How many of us are there?
I mean, it's not as big of a group anymore.
And they drafted four rounds together.
So you would have gotten a pretty good allotment,
and maybe at least one pair per series.
Probably we have multiple seats too.
So probably a couple games per series.
If those are my guardrails, I'm picking Game 3 of the final.
I'm gonna get enough other stuff.
You know, if that's the group of people,
I'm gonna get one game of series.
I don't know, I'm probably gonna pay
more for more than that anyway.
So again, if I get refunded, okay, that's a buffer,
but I've got potentially Game 6, or Game 6,
or Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final.
Yeah.
That's the best ticket.
The only thing better than that is Game 7.
And the other reason I don't pick that
is because I'm not sure it's gonna happen.
At this juncture, whether I'll have homoists.
Wouldn't be great if any of it happened.
The right.
Yeah. The finals.
What are their chances of the finals?
10%, 10, 12%.
I saw a 6% to win it, so.
Yeah, I haven't seen the update lately,
but yeah, it's a week or two ago,
their chance of winning the cup,
and this has changed dramatically since then,
past the Leafs' chances of making the playoffs at all.
And that's even worse off now,
like the Leafs are, they're gone, it's over.
Sabers are now 21 points ahead of the Leafs.
Yeah. How about that?
And climbing.
I wonder what Saturday looks like in the building.
Well, that's interesting.
Toronto's in on Saturday.
And those fans, we know, I think,
I hope you remember this the same way I do.
I bet I do.
We first started doing our shows there.
I think even before we were carrying games,
I don't know, whatever, we'd be in the atrium
doing our four-hour show pregame
a part of it, Rick would come down,
Generat, and join us for pregame, it was great.
The Leaf nights, the foil cups, the capes,
the Leafs weren't great, those people came.
And I'm sort of bracing for that still would be the case
on Saturday, just because that they're out of it.
I think those fans that come are not from Toronto.
They are from St. Catharines,
and they are all around the Golden Horseshoe,
and they don't go to games in Toronto
because they can't afford it,
or they can't get tickets, or both, and it's farther away.
So here's affordability, availability,
and I love my team.
This is the game I'm going to this year.
I'm going.
I only get matters where they are in the standings.
I'm still expecting, you know,
maybe not as bad as it's been, right,
because it's been even maybe 60, 40 here lately,
last few years, Leafs to Sabre's fans in the building.
If not worse than that, even,
I'll bet it's more, you know, maybe there's more Buffalo fans
than Leaf fans, but if you're expecting them
to just turtle and go away, I think you're missing it.
They'll come no matter what.
Two thoughts.
One is yes,
but this is the first time in ages that it's this way.
I mean, even when they played in November.
Good point.
It was like the Leafs have the stranglehold
over the Sabres, you know, in that in a certain way.
So this is the first time in like 20 years, maybe,
that the Leafs are the inferior team,
and everybody knows it.
So I think that might change the calculus
a little bit there.
The other thing is, and this was something I was thinking
about when I went to that Montreal game in January
and was surrounded by Canadians fans.
That was a stark experience for a lot of Sabres fans
as they're watching the Sabres get good,
and yet the building is completely overrun by Montreal.
It's because you have to make,
most people make their decisions on tickets
a long time before the game.
And when I would still have season tickets,
but really had no interest in going,
I would try to sell the Leafs, you know, draft.
The one year, maybe the last year I was in the group,
I just drafted Leaf games and tried to move them.
Because I know I didn't want to be in there,
and oh, maybe I can sort of stay in and have a chance
at playoff to make some money and keep this worthwhile.
Yeah, I was like, not get buried.
So I think probably if Leaf fans don't want to go,
Sabre fans maybe will buy the tickets back.
It could be if that's the thing,
but I bet a lot of Sabre season ticket holders,
not that there are really that many.
That's the thing about her.
That's the thing that it's, to me,
it's very hard to have a,
hey, stop selling your tickets to Canadian fans.
I'll bet plenty of Montreal fans and Toronto fans
waited until single game seats went on sale,
expecting the Sabres wouldn't have a big season ticket base,
which they don't, and they didn't.
I think that'll change again,
but you could have just bought them at the window.
You didn't have to buy them off a season ticket holder.
Right.
And if your season ticket number is half the building,
that means half the building is available
when single game seats go on sale.
So that's not hard for a Toronto fan or a Montreal fan.
You know, I'm interested.
I'm allowing for some variants like you're saying
because it is probably jarring
and with that comes some disenchantment.
Whereas these years I'm describing maybe the Leafs were,
they were used to being bad,
but they flew their flag anyway
because we're proud of we love our team
and let's go to Buffalo and take over the building
and all that stuff.
So probably some people will drop out, like I already said,
like I think there's gonna be less,
but don't expect it to be overwhelmingly Buffalo Saturday night.
I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if it were that way.

I'm Spencer, and I work at United Healthcare.
Suspenser, why do you care?
I care because my daughter, Adeline, has special needs.
I am motivated by Adeline who inspires me every day.
I am driven to help families like mine
navigate the healthcare system.
I'm so blessed to lead an amazing team
at United Healthcare focusing on the member experience
and making that better.
I'm Spencer, and I'm committed to care.
All we have in that chip on my shoulder,
on the dog mentality, I feel like I've been overlooked,
you know, my whole career, you know,
high school, college, you know, CFL,
you know, the right that I had to take
it just shows you, you know, whatever you put your mind
so you can achieve it.
Don't give up, you know, things don't get tough.
Everyone takes different paths,
but, you know, we can all lie on the one
and, you know, go on that same journey.
I feel like, you know, it defines me as a person.
I'm a hard worker, dedicated, I'm goal driven,
just having that unadopt mentality.
It made me who I am.
New Bill's defensive back de-offered, late of Atlanta.
He is one of two defensive free agent signings.
The bills have made that we know of, correct.
Bradley Chubb is the other.
Alford had a sack and an interception for the Falcons
in their win last season over the bills.
That probably helped him.
Oh, but it did.
Can't beat him, get him to join you.
That's not exactly that's not the same.
That's Patrick Henry.
That's not how it goes.
That's a famous Patrick Henry quote.
You see the card of the day today,
my Ovechkin card?
I did see your card of the day
and I'm proud of you for putting Ovechkin up there.
Are you?
You had some, you seemed hesitant
to, you know, rep a Washington player yesterday
when you brought it up like a,
they're playing the, they're playing the Sabers.
I don't know, should I?
Yeah, put it up there.
My favorite and least favorite thing about my collection
is how like kind of scatter shot it is.
I mean, I bought and bought and bought in the hobby days,
just like always looking for something else.
I mean, a lot of it was irresponsible.
A lot of it was irresponsible.
Some of it was really good.
It's the best.
And just like, just completely lost my mind
as a buyer, as a collector, way outside my means.
And then I sold a lot of it to help buy our house.
And that includes that famous Robinson card,
that Jackie Robinson card that you are responsible for.
I blame you for that,
but it still turned out all right.
I was showing Bulldog how the auction sites work.
And I just put a token bid in on Robinson
on this one auction site because there's no way
this bid will win.
There's a 30 day auction.
This is day one.
You sort of put a bid in, right?
And it won for like eight grand.
And I went home from here one night
after that was finalized.
Easy for me to laugh.
And my mother-in-law was over.
And that was great for me.
Because there was a buffer.
She was the buffer.
Okay.
It could have been the other way, I guess,
but I announced to my wife and her mother
that I had bought a baseball card for more than $8,000,
which I did not have, right?
So, but I eventually sold it at a profit.
You make these choices during COVID,
the thing added to zero.
And I had already sold it.
That would have been sold for a quarter million dollars,
the same card during COVID.
That would have been better.
Holy crap.
That would have paid for the house.
Well, still, the fact that you set it the way you set it
and you're being self-critical here,
beyond your means, you shouldn't have done some of the stuff,
but you sold a bunch of it to help pay for the house.
Like, that's to feel good in the end.
No, it did.
It did.
And I already, I still have too much stuff.
I sold a bunch of cards two nights ago.
Like just every once in a while, pick at it and sell
and take some money out of it.
The card that I tweeted today is one of those cards
that I would have opened in the Ovechkin card in 2006,
five or six, whatever, when he was a rookie.
And got graded because that's another thing we did.
And I'm just looking today and that card
is way more expensive than I thought.
Really?
Yeah.
It's not autographed or anything, but it's pretty good.
I had no idea.
One friend tweeted at me about having a strategy
for the card.
I'm like, I don't think I need that.
But I didn't realize what it was.
Maybe you should have a strategy for it.
I need one now.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, that's good.
That's good.
All the better that you tweeted the card today
because you found that out because you tweeted it?
I guess, yeah.
I mean, I could have looked it up.
Just randomly.
But you're thinking of Ovechkin.
Yeah.
But I have a jersey too from when he was a rookie
that I probably should frame and sell with the card.
Yeah, I should.
Together, strike now.
Last year would have been the time to do it.
This feels, this feels very much like a nice piece
you would see at a golf tournament this summer.
Like in the auction area of the,
like the framed Ovechkin jersey with a rookie card.
Oh, baby.
I mean, that's a big tournament.
That'd be pretty hot.
You're right.
Here's Rich with us.
Hello.
Gentlemen, good evening.
Hi, Rich.
Hey, guys.
At a conversation yesterday with my daughter
who works at KeyBank Center in concessions
and she said it's been wild,
but she made a funny remark.
How would you feel if you had season tickets
for X number of years?
Got set up, didn't renew for this year.
You've got to feel like you're really missed out.
That's me.
You've probably heard me.
Look at the show, right?
It's Mike.
That's literally me.
And my second comment is,
I can't, I'm your fine, by the way.
That's good.
My second comment is regarding your show yesterday,
if the NFL does have the Wednesday night game
before night's giving.
What if both the bills and sabers are playing well
and they both play that night?
Well, of course, of course, it's the bills.
It's November.
I would say so.
I would say so too, because obviously,
there's more saber games.
Sure.
You guys flip flop or just cast a trade on the bill.
Well, I would want to try to keep tabs on both games
and you can do that.
I might even watch the hockey game on my iPad,
but the football game would take precedence
because it's one of 17.
Oh, I don't like how easily that came out.
I would, I would, I would,
how was it close?
One of 17.
I wanted to be a more of a struggle to say 17 instead of 16.
But anyway, one of 17 versus one of 82.
Yes, it's not close at all.
How was it even close?
If the Super Bowl and game seven
of the Stanley Cup finals were on the same night,
what would you do?
I don't know, like maybe that's worth thinking about.
I was like, close.
Game 15 of the hockey season, I'll,
I'll be fine without it.
I am the person you're talking.
I don't know if he knows that or what,
but I feel fine about it, you know?
Like it was a long dreadful term for me.
And other people enjoyed it more
and I'm not here to make you feel bad about that or anything.
I know for me, as I've said many times,
I really don't want to say it again now
because it's not the season for it.
The Sabers are hot and wants to, you know,
come down from that.
But I got really frustrated with the lack of fun I was having
and how much it costs.
That's really all there is.
And like, why am I doing this?
And I always, my reason for hanging in there
as long as I did was the boys, like the group.
And I know my kids might want to go to a couple of games,
you know, or my wife would and that was enough.
I had my name on it.
I was proud of it for hanging in there as long as it is.
And I wanted to just not quit.
Because you feel bad when you quit.
And I got to a point where I just felt like
I had no other choice.
Because money's tight.
And spending four or five grand on hockey.
10 hockey games.
It's not enjoyable at all.
It isn't fun, like I just couldn't.
But now it's obviously really fun.
But I'm not like, I'm not jealous, really.
I'll go to a couple more games.
I've got three games left, actually, through different means.
And I'm just excited about all of it.
I don't feel like I need to be in there.
I don't have anything on the horizon at all.
I mean, I don't have any, I have no tickets.
I have nothing set up waiting.
I have, I thought about doing this tonight,
but I'm not going to.
Maybe Saturday.
I mean, I haven't used my press pass in many years,
but I do have one this year.
And I think Saturday, I don't know what my wife is doing.
I'm not even sure if she's working or not, whatever.
I may just roll down their Saturday
or any one of these nights here
between now and the end of the year.
And just, you know, hang out in the press box with Paul
and my kid.
Yes.
And not only tickets.
Zach and whoever else.
I mean, sometimes there's a whole posse of WGR people down there.
But I, because I want to see it, right?
I want to feel it.
And that's why I'm, I know I'm not doing tonight.
Tonight would really be perfect,
but I'm not, I just can't swing it.
Saturday isn't the full, like if I'm right
and they're still, you know, six or 8,000 leaf fans
in the building, that's not, I've seen that.
I mean, I've seen that 10 times over.
I want to get in there on a night when it's, you know,
obviously you can't know how it's going to turn out.
I wish I'd gone on Sunday, but I didn't feel good.
Anyway, tonight would be good.
Tonight would be good.
Just to get the whole flavor of the thing, like the buzz,
the walking in, the just feel the, the passion being back.
I want to get, I want to plug into that at some point.
Luke and in for Buffalo tonight is the expectation first game
since Sunday's incredible win over Tampa gave up seven
and still got the win.
I wonder if that's a first in his life.
Lindgren expected for Washington, but I don't know for sure.
They played last night Thompson played last night, the other guy,
the number one.
So I would expect that you'll get Lindgren tonight.
So you're getting Washington in a bit of a down right season
and stretch off of a back on a back to back.
And they lost four to one last night,
which is probably pretty dispiriting.
I looked earlier, Sabre's Remind is 218 to win same as Tampa tonight
against Detroit.
Not the biggest favorites in the league.
There are a lot of games.
Av is maybe also Utah or Minnesota, Minnesota.
You like them?
I think Minnesota is hot.
Yes, with Quinn Hughes there now and Capra's off
and the gold tending is really good.
They get a nice team pregame with Paul Hamilton 20 minutes away.
Mike Schopen, the bulldog here WGR.
I'm done carrying around bulky drinks
