How Much Uber Drivers Actually Make

Hour 4 (9.04) Fifteen hundred a week for seventy-five hours behind the wheel, minus a hundred and fifty in gas. That's the top of the Uber ladder — and driverless cars just took the airport runs. 

9:05 — Marie's swell reaches Southern California late tonight. Big surf on south-facing beaches and strong rip currents throughout the holiday weekend. 

9:20 — Zoox started running driverless robotaxis to and from Harry Reid International in Las Vegas this week, the first fully autonomous service at a US airport, with pickups at both terminals positioned closer to baggage claim than the Uber and Lyft zones. Drivers waiting in the lot had mixed reactions — one full-timer figure it'll take a lot of business; another says there's nothing they can do about it. So, what can you make out there? Six days a week, twelve hours a day, seventy-five hours, about a hundred and fifty in gas, and roughly fifteen hundred at the end of it. Plus, the case for letting riders set their own speed.

Amazon returns and the volume moving through them, why truck drivers and delivery people are buried right now, and the eternal question of why motorcycles must be that loud.
