Both Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams were spotted at shootaround earlier this week without their respective brace and boot. How long will it be until they get back? How big will their returns be? The crew breaks it down!

Dylan Brooks and Mark Williams warming up
and shooting around without their respective braces on.
Of course, Dylan Brooks recovering
from a left hand fracture.
Mark Williams, a stressed third meditarsal in his foot.
So no boot, no brace, good news for the sons.
I've never been so excited for news
from a shooter round ever.
Like nobody cares about footage of guys shooting at a,
at a shooter round and today I was like, oh my gosh.
Look at this video, it's Dylan shooting
without the cast or the brace.
I'm excited because if we know anything about Dylan,
it's that that man wants to come back sooner
than what we all expected.
Absolutely, I think that is steps in the right direction.
When you talk about injuries and returns from injuries,
all you ask for is progress in the right direction
and that would suggest that both of these guys
are on the timeline, maybe even ahead of schedule
on their return and recovery timeline.
And listen, we're going to take it as it comes.
I've said so much about if and when,
let's just get these guys healthy
and see what happens when they get healthy.
I mean, I think it matters for sure,
but I still think those guys are handful of games
away from returning.
Oh, so I'm not going to overreact too much to it,
but I think it does matter in respect
to both of them making steps towards returning to the floor.
Come on overreact with us.
Let's have some.
I'm sorry, I'm the wrong person for you.
And so to kind of to pick you back on what Stephen was saying
there, coach, I told Dwayne Rankin pregame,
and this is courtesy of Amanda Fluegrad.
Again, want to make sure people get their credit
that Dylan has been able to take off the cast
for some on court work,
but he's still not cleared for contact.
Mark Williams still not clear to really go
and do anything significant on the court.
It's not the biggest deal in the world,
but I think with this recent stretch with the suns
and then playing well without those two sometimes,
he's be like, oh, yeah, the suns are shorthanded.
When you see guys get a little bit closer to being back,
you start to be like, oh, yeah, that's right.
They're missing really big pieces to this team.
And if they're able to get back here sometime
and then let's say the next week and a half, two weeks, right?
Before the very end of March,
that would be a much needed boost for this team going into
what's going to be a very tightly contested playoff race
in the Western Conference.
Yeah, we're doing.

I imagine there's a little bit less of the kind of timidity
that comes with a guy coming back from an injury
because it's like a hand definitely matters,
but it's not his shooting hand.
So it's a little bit less on the concern inside.
From Mark Williams,
you can't do anything without your feet.
And I think the fact that it is a stress reaction,
that's like the step before the step that keeps a guy out
for months and you get close to four to six months
type situation with that.
So I imagine they take extreme precaution with him
on that front because especially for the ways
that he defends and what is his advantage is a big,
it's his feet and being able to move faster than that.
So we'll see.
I imagine it's the latest side of the spectrum for him
and then the shorter side, maybe for Dylan.
I agree, wholeheartedly.
And you'd imagine with Dylan
that they could put some kind of not a brace,
but some kind of padding on that hand
and as Matthew in the chat says,
Dylan's game defies logic,
but in the other one, he says,
his form is in effected by broken hand
because he only shoots with one hand at him.
So honestly, the path for Dylan
might just be brass knuckles and just let him let him get one.
Is that maybe the most,
maybe Dremons, the most dangerous player to have brass knuckles?
Anyway, but then it's probably Dylan's second.
That speaks to his blue collar nature.
He just don't care.
But I'm encouraged by it with Dylan in particular,
because I think he is the one that could come back faster
than you would see with Mark in that foot.
And that's big men feet.
You don't want to screw in.
Dylan and his, and a fracture in his non-shooting hand,
I would, I'd like to see him push the bounds a little bit.
And I'm not great with the anatomy of the hand
and all the bones in there,
but I think with Dylan,
it's like a fracture knuckle or something like that.
So like that kind of adds a little bit of interesting wrinkle
to what he actually hurt.
I know he mentioned the brass knuckles part of it
or whatever, but I think that coming back
as far as the path that he's on,
trusting it and not necessarily putting it in a harm's way.
Who knows how it happened?
I don't think we ever figured out the play
where he heard himself,
but him being where he is on this path,
getting the runway,
because we've talked so much about him being reincorporated
with that one, two, three punch with him,
Jalen Green and Devin Booker is exciting.
So seeing him out there,
and he seems like he's trying to be on the short side of it.
As you said, Steven as well.
So it's a step in the right direction.
And the last thing I'll add about Mark is,
I know that right before Mark was kind of just
surprisingly announced as out for an extended period of time.
There were a lot of conversations.
Conversations had on this show about,
hey, his play has slipped.
And it does make me think,
maybe this is something that's been bothering him for a bit.
So if the suns can get him back to where he was
at the beginning of the season,
for the end of the season,
the play in and play offs, that'd be great.
If not, if he is either not as available,
or he's more of the same as what he was before,
these reps for C'mon Mala watch,
I know, so a guitar will become even more important
because Mark might be available,
but there might not be games where he's viable.
And so having a C'mon and having an O's,
so get these couple of weeks to settle into those respective roles.
I think this all works out great,
but again, hopefully Mark is back.
And back to the impactful center that we saw him be
at his highest form near the beginning,
slash first quarter of the season.
Yeah, on the periphery as much earn risk for him.
Feels like outside of potential injury,
it felt like there was a little bit of a wall
and quote unquote fatigue,
maybe hit just because he hadn't played this workload.
Given he's already surpassed his games play threshold
that he accept prior to the season.
So I think that matters for him,
but I think for him and Dylan,
the sun still have a lot they can learn about themselves
in this time with their away.
So much that they could potentially be coming back to
not a brand new team,
but a team that has some new things that they can add
to make their lives easier,
but also make their impact on the game
just that much more impacting.
I think there's one other underrated thing about this.
It gives you a preview of what life without Mark
could be like in case that price for Mark gets ridiculous
this summer if you don't want to get involved in it.
So a lot of different silver linings
and you'll still likely get him back for your push.
Yeah, the one thing I was thinking to the concern
about all of that and you mentioned the rest
and it's different when you have a hand injury.
You can keep running.
We've seen video of Dylan running.
So the one thing easing Mark back in specifically
because he's going to probably have to get back
in some sort of shape.
I know they do like anti gravity.
So sometimes for guys as the NBA,
they have very high tech ways to get guys back in shape,
but I'm really curious to see when he's ready to come back
where he is physically as far as that goes
because he's not going to be able to get much running in right now.

Brooks and Mark Williams.
