Da: Det var efterår på børnehjemmet, og de farverige blade dansede i vinden udenfor de store vinduer.
En: It was autumn at the børnehjemmet, and the colorful leaves danced in the wind outside the large windows.
Da: Indenfor i den hyggelige stue sad Niels, en klog og fantasifuld dreng med kæmpe planer.
En: Inside the cozy living room sat Niels, a clever and imaginative boy with grand plans.
Da: Han havde opdaget en musefamilie, der var begyndt at stjæle mad fra spisekammeret.
En: He had discovered a mouse family that had begun to steal food from the pantry.
Da: Og han havde en idé; en strålende idé om at fange musen – men han kunne ikke klare det alene.
En: And he had an idea; a brilliant idea to catch the mouse – but he couldn't do it alone.
Da: Astrid sad ved siden af ham, forsigtigt plukket sin bog op, når Niels begyndte at tale.

En: "I don't think it will work.
Da: Jeg har set musen løbe afsted med brødkrummer uden problemer," sagde Lars.
En: I've seen the mouse run off with bread crumbs without any problems," said Lars.
Da: Men Niels opgav ikke.
En: But Niels did not give up.
Da: "Vi kan lave en fælde.
En: "We can make a trap.
Da: Det bliver en Halloween-fælde!
En: It will be a Halloween trap!
Da: Vi laver det sjovt og skræmmende," sagde han og klappede i hænderne.
En: We'll make it fun and scary," he said, clapping his hands.
Da: Det tog ikke lang tid, før de tre børn designede den mest kreative fælde.
En: It didn't take long before the three children designed the most creative trap.
Da: Med pumpkin-lanterner der lyste op, gamle kostumer og ost som lokkemad, planlagde de at fange musen under Halloween-festen.
En: With pumpkin lanterns lighting up, old costumes, and cheese as bait, they planned to catch the mouse during the Halloween party.
