Magneto-Inductive Communications for Ocean Worlds, is a new concept from Dr. Robert Romanofsky of NASA. A mission to the under-ice ocean of Europa is one of the highest priority missions for NASA. Dr. Romanofsky's concept is for a probe to melt through the 5 to 10 km thickness of briny ice to reach the buried ocean below. The challenge of communicating back to the surface of Europa is also directly addressed.
