How to Solve Problems When You Feel Stuck

About this episode

Episode 1020: In this episode, I want to challenge the way you think about imagination.

Most people hear that word and immediately think of artists, filmmakers, inventors, or people who are naturally creative. And because they don’t see themselves that way, they assume imagination just isn’t one of their strengths.

I don’t believe that.

Napoleon Hill calls imagination “the workshop of the human mind.” That definition changes everything. Imagination isn’t fantasy. It’s the ability to take old ideas, established facts, past experiences, mistakes, skills, and lessons and put them together in new combinations.

That matters when you feel stuck.

Sometimes the problem isn’t that you need more information, more money, more time, or another opportunity. Sometimes you need to stop treating the facts of your situation like permanent limitations and start asking a better question:

What else can I build with what I already have?

I also share one simple practice I use to keep that workshop active: a few minutes of random reading to introduce new ideas and create new connections.

Your experience is inventory. Your failures are inventory. Your old ideas are inventory.

The workshop is already there.

This episode is about learning how to use it again so you can see more possibilities, solve problems differently, and get moving when you feel stuck.

Keep it simple. Keep it moving. Never settle. Stay tough.
