Long time New York Met's Play-by-Play announcer, Howie Rose, has announced his retirement

at the end of the 2026 season.

At 72 years old, he has held the role since taking over from Bob Murphy back in 2004,

that will mark his 52nd year in broadcasting overall.

He was inducted into the Met's Hall of Fame in January of 2023.

Met's and fellow broadcasters quickly shared their praise on social media after the news

broke on March 19th.

Many highlighted his skill, warmth, and deep knowledge of the game.

Met's owner Steve and Alex Cohen praised his passion and energy in bringing memorable

moments to life for generations of fans.

Yankees broadcasters Susan Waldman recalled watching him practice tirelessly in the late

1980s, emphasizing his hard work in dedication.

Rose leaves behind a lasting legacy in baseball broadcasting, and Met's fans are already
