At 72 years old, he has held the role since taking over from Bob Murphy back in 2004, that will mark his 52nd year in broadcasting overall. He was inducted into the Met's Hall of Fame in January of 2023. Met's and fellow broadcasters quickly shared their praise on social media after the news broke on March 19th.
