This is Jones and Keith.
Brown sees the shot clock rises up, makes the shot.
Brown!
Booker didn't see him coming.
Three on one, Tatum the Euro!
The Jays making plays.
Brown in the paint rises up.
Got the basket.
41 for Jalen Brown.
All behind an MVP type performance from Jalen Brown.
The Celtics hold off the suns and sweep the season series.
120 to 112, 41, 7 and 6 for JB.
Jones and Keith right now on WWEEI.
Are you ready for Sy Patrick's Day, Keith?
Oh, I was bored, ready, Jones.
It's one of the biggest days in the Keith House as you can imagine.
Leopardcon came last night, caused all kinds of destruction.
Left behind some goodies, took some goodies, got a little maniac.
We try to trap him every year.
So that's what Lucas attempts to do as well.
How does the Leopardcon, I know he enters different homes differently.
How's he entered your home?
Because I wonder if this is what happens in every episode.
But when you're not looking, I'll tell you that much.
I've never seen this little guy.
I have the idea what he looks like.
I could describe him.
I'll tell you what, until I met my wife,
the Leopardcon never entered the house this way.
But through the toilet, it's how the Leopardcon comes in.
Through the toilet.
Pipes, I guess.
They're magic.
Yeah.
At the end of the day.
Pops right in.
Yeah.
Leaves a home that's in there.
Sure could.
Yeah.
I wear the Leopardcon personally.
That's not the way I would enter the home.
But that's how we enter is the Jones House.
I think the Leopardcon might just live in my house.
Might be like a parasite situation.
Are you like dug a little hole for themselves somewhere?
I just popped up with you.
I feel like the Irvine would have got him by now.
One of these woodland creatures would have taken it out.
That's what you'll rank here.
Get that hole to the wrong stuff.
That's true.
That's also true.
Yeah.
They love lucky charms.
They love gold.
Oh, they're lucky charms all over my house, just everywhere.
They're lucky charms.
Look what the Leopardcon did.
I'm like, yeah.
Yeah.
Guys, maniac.
This little sneak.
This little guy running around.
I think he got into some of my beers last night too.
Oh, I think he did.
Oh, man.
At least I'm blaming him.
That's 364 days.
It's the core is light banded in my house.
And then on St. Batty's, it is that Leopardcon.
Yeah.
I'm like one gay.
One loose Guinness.
Yeah.
The core is banded as a real.
You got to trap him.
Well, they're tricksters by nature, Jones.
So anyway, Keith, if you're watching today, it's always a great day to watch on Twitch
and on YouTube.
Twitch.tv slash Boston WEEI.
You can watch and chat there.
Always a healthy chat going on on Twitch.
Do the same on YouTube.
Watch their chat there.
Subscribe.
You have some nice St. Batty's attire going on.
Thank you.
My Paul Pierce, Jersey, and I have a bow tie.
You know what?
Where's that?
By what?
Where'd you get that?
The bow tie.
Oh, the Leopardcon left a lot of stuff.
Oh, the Leopardcon left that at the house today.
So the girls are both dressed to the nines.
And there's some stuff that they didn't want to bring to school today.
So I'm like, I'll take that.
I don't give you that.
So now I'm wearing a nice little green book tie.
Oh, that's new.
I was going to say I've never.
I've not seen that.
Well, it looks very sharp.
I don't normally wear it.
No.
It would have fit in nicely if the Jones and Keith awards.
But no, he decided to break it out here for St. Patty's day.
I love it.
Hopefully there was a very nice St. Patty's day.
I hope you do as well.
Sounded like a good time today at the Dubliner.
You can dial us up on Jones and Keith 617779.
That's your phone number to get in touch.

Add Jones and Keith.
You can vote all day in the Jones and Keith March Madness 1990 slash early 2000s.
Heavy metal, new metal grunge alternative pop on butt rock rock bands bracket.
We will get to the final matchups in round two of the grab bag region.
And then tomorrow we're on to the sweet 16.
We'll get just some finals from the grunge region as well.
It's a tier two's day.
Keith.
I'm going to say technically gets underway tonight.
Although I don't really recognize day one until Thursday.
No.
We'll be at Jake and Joe's and Wooburn to celebrate.
Can't wait.
The official day one of the tournament as we recognize it here.
That's right.
So we're looking forward to seeing you a lot of you in Wooburn at Jake and Joe's on Thursday.
10 to 2.
But it technically gets underway tonight.
We thought it'd be a good day, Keith, to tear off called basketball programs.
I like it.
I like this idea a lot.
I think it's going to get people upset.
And that's usually a good thing when it comes to the tears.
You want passionate tears.
You want passionate tears.
I think if nothing else, this will be passionate tears.
You don't want people to just move right past.
No, no, no, no.
You know, more viral tears the better.
Yeah.
This one has a chance to go viral.
So that's at 11 30 market down Tommy Tuesday at high noon with Tommy Curran from NBC Sports
Boston.
We'll talk some paths off season.
And of course, the key for madness for you as well at 12 45 Celtics get the 120 to 112 victory
this night over the Phoenix Suns.
It felt like Keith a real statement game in a statement year for Jalen Brown.
And here's why I put it that way.
He had 41 in the game.
He had 18 in the fourth.
He got to the free throw line a million times.
He was making plays down the stretch to lift the Celtics.
It felt like on his back to a victory.
And Tatum's here on the team.
This wasn't carrying a Tatumless team.
This was carrying the team and Tatum to a come from behind.
I mean, they weren't down huge, but a come from behind victory in the final minutes of the
game.
It felt like a Jalen Brown statement game in what's been a statement season.
Definitely.
Yeah.
Tatum 32 minutes again for the second straight game for him.
So his first three games 27 minutes.
He's up that minute count.
Now he's at 32.
But it was Jalen Brown.
Jalen Brown played 40 minutes in this game.
Got to the free throw line of tongue, which I know we're going to get to as well.
But yeah, this was one of those.
Yeah, this guy is an MVP candidate.
I don't think he's going to win.
I don't think he's going to, you know, be in the top two.
But he is a clear cut first team, all NBA guy.
The sons are a decent team too, right?
You didn't do this against the Warriors.
You didn't do this or not the Warriors, the Wizards.
You didn't do this against some garbage team.
The sons aren't bad, right?
They're okay.
They're 10 games over 500 and they have a guy who I think has been recognized.
And it's almost accepted in the league that he's better than Jalen Brown in Devon Booker.
And Booker had whatever, he had 40 points.
But is he like Devon Booker couldn't make the playoffs last year with Kevin Durant.
Going into this year, I would have said Booker better than Jalen Brown.
I think that's James.
So look, I argued about this arcane than I argued about this years ago.
Twitch chat might remember this.
And I'm like, you're crazy if you wouldn't trade Jalen.
Not that it was straight out.
We were talking about like top players in the league and it's like everyone would trade.
Everyone would rather have Booker than Jalen Brown.
This years ago with Arcane, Arcane was arguing the Jalen side.
Arcane was right.
Yeah.
And now I would take Jalen over Devon.
I like Booker.
So do I.
But I would take Jalen over him.
Yeah.
He's already been sort of anointed and, you know, he's on Team USA.
How did he start on the gold medal team?
He might have started.
Like he was like a, he was not only on the team over Jalen Brown.
He was getting minutes over Jason Tatum.
And he's like propped up for a guy that also hasn't won anything.
Well, I guess he's made one, he made a finals but didn't win it.
And, you know, last year it was, it was crazy that he didn't even make the playoffs.
So this year they're a little bit better.
That's another guy.
You know, you got to go back a few years ago, but he scored 70 on the court, right?
He did.
I mean, he did score seven.
He did.
It was a, it was a weird 70.
It was an, it was an embellished 70.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was, it was like a real like 50, 55 point game.
Yeah.
But, and I know, I know he's only five games back from a torn rupture to kill ease.
But in a game where Devon Booker and Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown are all in the court,
Jalen Brown was the best player.
You know, and I think that's, that's sort of been the theme this year.
Like most nights he's been on the court.
He's been the best player there.
And so he's continuing that.
It looks like he's going to kind of finish the season strong.
And a good win.
And a good win too because, you know, the suns, they haven't played a lot, the southeries.
I mean, haven't played a ton of close games.
Right.
If you look back at some of these ones, they've had some real blowout wins.
So I'll be like, you don't want to knock you in credit for being able to win a close game.
But this was one of the first ones we've seen in a while.
Where it was really competitive late.
Well, and it does make me wonder how far Jalen can carry the Celtics.
Because I think that's the right way to say it.
It's not just how far can the Celtics go.
How far can Jalen carry them?
And nights like last night make me wonder if that is going to be the formula going forward.
And I, by the way, give Tatum a lot of credit.
Tatum took a back seat last night.
And I don't think Tatum has done that a ton since he returned to the team.
In fact, we talked about it on a per-minute basis.
He's shooting more than anybody else.
He's not taking the most shots on the team because he's not playing the most minutes.
But if you level out the pair 36.
Yeah.
I mean, if you adjust for like, you know, when they're, they're both on the floor
and they're both out Tatum hasn't taken a back seat at all until last night.
And I felt like it was noticeable and purposeful.
And Tatum saw that Jalen had it going.
And I think the next question after giving Tatum credit for that is,
will he do that consistently?
Will he just do it on a one-off sort of night?
But I now wonder can Jalen carry them on a deep run?
I already thought they could get out of the east, Keith,
without Tatum the way they had been playing.
So can Jalen carry them to an NBA finals?
I think he could.
And this team can be led by Jalen all the way to that point.
I, I never would have said that a year ago.
I don't think I would have even said it right when Tatum first came back.
I needed to see something last night to really feel like Jalen
would be the lead guy with Tatum back.
I know he's the lead guy without him, with Tatum back.
Now I wonder if you're talking finals with a Jalen led team.
And I kind of feel that way.
I think you definitely can.
And I think it's funny because they've sort of just potentially switched roles
and also why they should be the favorite in the Eastern Conference.
And I felt this way last year and they lost.
Even, you know, they were going to lose even before Tatum got hurt and felt like.
But when you look at the top other teams and you say,
all right, let's say you're in a series with the Knicks.
And Jalen Bronson's going to be the lead score for the Knicks, right?
He's going to be the guy.
I expect Jalen Brown to be able to kind of cancel that out.
And then you sort of look to the next guy down.
And you're like, all right, well, Carla, if any,
Towns, I guess would be like the next score.
Well, Tatum, even that this version of Tatum,
I think can match him or even surpass him.
And now that combo, I think is better than the Knicks combo.
I don't even think it's a debate with the pistons.
If Jalen Brown can keep it close with Cade Cunningham,
the next best score between the two teams is this version of Tatum.
Like by far, like I don't think there's another guy on the pistons
that's going to be able to keep up with that.
So last year in the year before, you might have been able to apply
the same logic, but you would have flipped the names.
You'd have been like, all right, Tatum's the lead guy.
He cancels out this guy.
Then Brown's the consistent second score.
I think this year as long as Tatum is good with it.
And I think that he will be.
Well, I think last night, yeah, last night,
and I doubted that he would do it.
Last night, it should be the example.
Anybody who thinks it's going to work.
Courtney, I know has been big on this.
Anybody who thinks it's going to work and they've proven its work.
And you guys are creating a mountain out of a mole hill
and it's a non-story.
I don't feel that way.
What did Terp say before it's a lazy narrative?
Like, I don't think it's a lazy narrative.
No, it's not lazy because things have changed.
So it's worth talking about.
But I think for anyone who thinks it's a lazy narrative
or anyone who thinks it's overplayed, point to last night.
And the suns are not the spurs in OKC to your point,
but they don't stink.
But they don't stink.
But we've seen a lot worse recently.
So, I mean, that's the example.
That's the game.
And for everybody, like me, who says,
I don't think Tatum's going to take a back seat.
Most of these games so far, he has not.
But last night, he did, and they won and Jalen carried them.
And I think that's a significant development.
I think there's also, you know, we looked at the documentary
that Tatum made.
And one of the lines, he said, he's like,
I'm not coming back to be a role player.
There is a big difference
or a big middle ground, I would say,
between being first team all NBA
and like what you would refer to as a role player.
Right?
You can be 22 points per game,
which would be second on the team.
Maybe you take a couple less shots,
but you're starting.
You're playing 35 minutes.
You don't say like, there's a little bit of nuance to like,
so what are you saying?
Like, no, he's not the sixth man.
He's not coming in to be Baylor Shireman.
Like, he can still come in there and average 20 a night
and take a ton of shots.
So, like, I think you'll be good with that.
And this is also where Mizzula comes in
and sort of like making sure that everybody is on the same page.
And I think they also,
even with the change in dynamic,
they fit really well together as a team.
Because we talked about this before,
how there's been more talented teams than this one.
But this one seems to have all these other guys know their role.
Kada will occasionally have a game where he gets a bunch of dunks
and put back some things like that.
They can kind of yo-yo whether how much they're scoring.
The role guys have fitted really well with what they're asked to do.
I think it's a good point.
Like, again, that Kyrie team in 2019 or whatever it was.
It's just too much.
And even I think last year's team to a degree,
that's a lot of mouths to feed.
That's a lot of people to keep happy.
That's a lot of guys who have roles and want their touches
and want their looks and want their numbers.
And I just think on some level,
that's a difficult balance.
This year, Baylor Shireman,
and Jordan Walsh and, you know, all these guys.
Bowser, Garza,
like Hugo, Hugo, they're all doing it.
You mentioned, and if those guys, you know,
I think they all want to play.
Yeah.
But if they all get their eight to 10 minutes in the case of Hugo
or they get their 20 minutes and a few dunks in the case of Kada
and everything in between,
I think they kind of understand what they are.
And so there is a lot of room for Tatum to come back.
Still get his shots,
but be a support player to Jalen Brown.
The question is, will Tatum be happy with that?
And I think last night, again,
goes a long way for people who believe he will be.
Six, one, seven, seven, seven, nine, seven, nine, seven.
We're going to get to your feedback here in a moment.
This Jalen Brown, after his big game last night,
no more complaining about free throws.
I noticed when he took 21 of them.
Not last night.
What are you taking the first quarter?
10? 12? What was the number?
I think it was 10?
Yeah, the first quarter.
What a bit.
Where he was aggressively getting in there
and getting his free throws.
This is Jalen Brown on that balance with Jason Tatum.
It takes humility.
And it takes some understanding.
I think JT is extremely important to us for what we want to do.
Obviously, I'm having a great season.
But then I have to just think, what's the big picture?
And sometimes that's not easy.
But I always put the team first in.
And what the bigger picture is first.
So it's just kind of a feel thing.
You kind of fill it out.
And then you take some time.
You know, when to be aggressive.
How the teams guard.
And kind of reassessing all of that stuff.
Because it's different.
The team is different.
But, you know, it's been okay.
It's been okay.
We find ways to win.
And we just got to continue to do that.
We got some games left.
It's not going to be perfect.
I think we could have won in a better facet tonight.
Against the suns.
But, you know, it's going to take a little bit of that.
You know, that growth factor.
By the time we get to the playoffs.
So I got to be patient.
Everybody got to be patient.
You know, this is not the best version that you are watching right now.
So we just take it one day at a time.
Hey, I got to be patient.
Everybody's got to be patient.
And I think he's talking about it in the team context.
But another way to look at it is like, hey, you know, everybody.
Let's continue to do what we're doing.
Everybody's got to be patient.
Everybody's got to buy into their role.
And a way to take that would be talking about Tatum there.
Do you think?
Do you think they're better off?
Keith, if it's Jalen's team for this year, you know, he's the.
Yes.
The main option on offense for this year.
Not long-term.
You do.
For this year, I do.
I think Tatum's been good and it's been five games.
And he's been better than I thought that you'd be.
Because it was such a wild guessing game because of the timeline.
We're comparing it to all these other players with the same injury.
And he just don't know until you see it.
So he's been a little bit better.
Still not shooting an amazing percentage.
But he's been better and looks closer to what we remember him to be.
Yeah.
But Brown is having like a top four season in the league.
So it makes no sense for him to take any kind of backseat.
And also, you know, the argument on the one hand is like,
oh, there's only one ball.
But then on the other hand, it's like these guys could both score a lot.
Like they have a lot of other kind of contributors on the team where I think they're going to.
I mean, they can both take 20 shots of game pretty much.
No, they can.
But no, I would have it go through Jalen Brown.
Overall, he deserves it for the season.
I think I think that's the way to do it for this year.
And again, the question is, we'll take him by into that.
I think Jalen wants it.
We're going to play another clip coming up where Jalen's like,
look, I've always been this.
I just get a chance to prove it this year.
And, you know, Terp has hammered that home with us.
He felt that way for a long time.
He's proving it.
Credit him because I think a lot of us doubted that he was this good of a player.
Oh, I see my NBA player.
I did not expect that.
In the MVP mix, I never thought that even when he was winning finals MVP.
So I'm with you.
I think this is the better way to situate it for this year.
And I think last night, he did help to prove that.
And I think, by the way, because I already can feel it on the text line or Twitch chatter calls.
People are like, why do you always have to pit them against each other?
I don't think this is pitting them against each other.
I think this is a reality of there is just the first option.
And when we say who's team is it, I'm with you, Keith.
They can both get their numbers.
I think they both will get Tatum's already getting his numbers.
Yeah.
He's getting 20 a night just about, I think three of the five games, right?
He scored 20 plus.
So Tatum's getting his numbers.
He's going to get his shots.
He had 18 shots last night.
No one's saying he's going to be again, a role player where he's coming off the bench.
I never thought he'd come off the bench.
I never thought he wouldn't get his shots.
He's getting his shots.
But there's only one option, lead option, first option, end of game.
There's only one guy you're running your offense through.
They can both get their shots.
But one guy's going to get first looks.
One guy's going to get first touches.
One guy's going to get the shot at the end of games.
And the other guy's going to have to stand there.
And I think last night, if you were watching late, it was a lot of Tatum standing on the wing, clapping for the ball.
And, you know, kind of spotting up.
And if Tatum's willing to do that, I think this team can go a long way.
And again, I feel good about him being willing to do that last night.
Yeah, I think it's also worth talking about just because of the history of the league.
You know, now that Brown has really put himself up there as one of the best players in the league.
And even if in his mind, he thought that he was, now there's no debating it.
Now there's like, we're watching him for a full season.
No one can roll their eyes when he says it because he's doing it.
So how many other teams have had two players like that, right?
And you got to find examples of it.
And Shaq and Kobe is a famous one.
A little bit different because Shaq was already great.
And then Kobe was really young.
But whatever, let's count that as one.
They should have continued a far after they did.
They both split up.
They both ended up winning elsewhere.
Kevin Durant joined Curry after that team had already won.
That burned hot.
They won. But then they broke up.
Even like LeBron and Kyrie.
Kyrie was like, I don't want to be the number two guy.
And then he maybe regretted it later on.
But whatever, like all these guys LeBron and Wade before that.
Yeah, there's a shelf life for two superstars on a team.
I mean, you go all the way back to like Jordan and Pippin,
although I would argue Jordan's like the most ever number one player.
And Pippin, maybe one of the best two players like ever, right?
So that's a little bit of a different dynamic.
But normally, guys that are like this don't play as long as these guys have.
Now, I think the clock sort of resets a little bit because it's not like it's been seven years
of Jalen Brown as a first team all NBA player.
This can be the first year he's first team all NBA.
But yeah, the egos are a big part.
I know some people want to kind of roll their eyes at it.
But just the NBA player and the top tier player.
I don't know, it's hard for them to either share the spotlight, share the role or whatever it might be.
Uh, text line 617-779-797-37 guys.
We always say he's in the running for MVP.
I'm curious if you could list what player is more valuable to their team than Jalen Brown.
Oh, SGA.
Yo, Kitch.
Yeah, those two.
Wendy.
Cuttingham.
Yeah, those three.
I mean, look, I mean, that's awesome.
But I would say those three or four guys are probably ahead of them.
Jalen's been great.
I don't, I wouldn't put them over, yeah, probably at least three of those guys.
Maybe Wendy as well.
Yeah.
So, yeah, I mean, he's having a great, great, awesome.
But if you want the list, that's the list right there.
Yeah.
We'll get to your feedback here coming up.
Uh, we can get into Jason Tatum.
His role and what his ideal role is on this team.
How far can Jalen carry the Celtics?
Are they better off when it's Jalen's team?
Quote unquote, meaning he's the first option.
Not that Tatum won't get his shots and won't get his numbers.
But he's the first option and the guy.
Like last night.
I think last night goes a long way for some of us in that regard.
Uh, we'll get to the World Baseball Classic.
We know who the US will be facing.
Uh, it's Venezuela.
It's tonight.
So we have thoughts on that.
We have thoughts, of course, on the Bruins massive gag job last night in New Jersey.
I thought the course was going to pull it out.
Uh, but then ultimately, of course, standing on his head.
He was pretty good there in that wild overtime last night.
So we got Bruins thoughts coming up.
Uh, of course, tier Tuesday, Tommy Tuesday, key for madness as well.

How much fun are you having this season?
It seems like you're kind of having a blast out there and just having a good time being yourself.
How much are you enjoying this moment?
It's been a great year.
I'm extremely grateful.
You know, all praise to the most high.
You know, just an approach from the beginning of the summer to where we're at now.
I'm proud of my team.
I'm proud of myself.
All it up above.
You know, um, you know, I've always felt like I could, you know, be one of the top players in the world.
You know, given the opportunity.
And I feel like I got to display that this season.
So now the focus is just get ready for the playoffs.
It's kind of like my mentality now.
Stay healthy.
But, you know, I've had a great, had a great year.
I'm extremely grateful.
I'm grateful to my teammates.
Um, and it's been fun.
Jones and Keith 1990 slash early 2000s.
Heavy metal, new metal grunge, alternative pop punk, butt rock, rock bands, bracket rolls on.
Green Day and Oasis.
Round two match up in the grab bag region goes live about 15 minutes from now, coming up later today.
The fourth seeded smashing pumpkins against number 12 Weezer and upset him round one.
Citadel a story.
We have a bunch of Cinderella stories in the grab bag region.
Third seeded blink 182 goes against number 11, 311.
Wow, but it's no longer 311 days.
So I think their time is out there.
Time may have run out.
And then number two nine inch nails against tenth seeded third eye blind.
Wow.
Later on today, grab bag region is the Cinderella region.
Really is a lot of fun.
And then tomorrow, we're through the sweet 16 Woodstock 99 will be back around Osfest.
We'll be back around.
So tune in for that.
You can go vote at Jones and Keith, including in yesterday's matchups.
I don't know that you need to vote Nirvana and Jane's addiction.
That was over pretty quick.
The closest one is Foo Fighters and Alice and Chains.
Yeah.
STP and Pearl Jam decently close.
And then Sound Garden put the beat down on audio slave.
I actually voted incorrectly in that one.
So someone wants to balance out my vote.
You can go ahead.
I've been voting a lot of upsets.
No, I've just been voting a lot of upsets.
You know, I don't appreciate how the bracket was seeded.
Quite frankly.
I think whoever seeded it didn't really know they were doing.
I think the guy is.
And so it knows the seeds don't matter.
And so I've been voted.
I've just kind of been conditioned to vote lower seed.
And I accidentally click.
So someone wants to balance me out.
That'd be great.
Go right ahead.
617-779.
793-7 again.
That is the Jones and Keith March madness bracket.
It's not for everyone.
Apparently.
Yes, not.
But we've enjoyed it.
Sweet 16 gets underway tomorrow.
We'll be at Jake and Joe's for the NCAA tournament.
Yes.
That's on Thursday.
So come join us 10 o'clock.
Jake and Joe's in Wuburn to bring in or drink in rather some college basketball.
Watch our brackets go up and smoke altogether.
Jalen Brown, that's not quite Keith.
Tweeting out the stats this year versus last year.
That's not quite calling it my favorite season.
No.
But it's on the Mount Rushmore of Jalen comments this year where he's like,
yeah, I kind of like how this is set up.
And I always knew I could do it.
Now I'm getting the chance.
And good.
I'm happy with it.
Yeah, he's putting his money where it's not.
Favorite season so far.
He is.
He's embracing it.
The guy's enjoying it.
So you can't say, you know, it's something that he's always wanted.
And then he's not enjoying it.
Right?
Like that happens with people.
Like they're just never happy.
Like, no, no.
He's been pretty satisfied with how things are going, how the team is playing.
You know, he made sure to mention the teammates a lot there.
It's not just him, but he's proud of his teammates proud of himself.
And you know what, Jones, if you can't be proud of yourself,
I don't think you can be proud of anybody.
And who's there?
If you're not proud of yourself, who's going to be proud of you?
Yes.
So that's great news.
That's great to hear.
It's an easy message to learn from.
But no, I mean, I do think it really could not have worked out better for Jalen Brown to this point.
Like the guys had an awesome season.
He's had career highs across the board.
They've even gotten Tatum back, which, you know,
maybe part of him, part of him is like, maybe go a whole season without him and see what that looks like.
Right.
But I feel like when you add Tatum back to the mix, and if you're still the guy,
you have a better chance now of making the finals.
And it'll still be viewed as, I think, like the Jalen Brown season.
I think so too.
I was just going to ask you that.
I think, I mean, if it's like last night, how could you view it any different?
And I'm not talking about disparity 41 to 21, but just early on in the game,
who's taken over and laid in the game, he took over.
He was getting on the free throw line, putting the team on his back.
He carried the team down the stress last night.
I do think it's his season in many ways, and I think it will continue to be.
And obviously Tatum's out there, but it's really just like strengthening the team.
Like you took one of the four best teams in the East, and then you add Tatum.
And even if Tatum ends up being, I mean, through five games, he's at 20 points per game.
I don't think it's going to get worse.
No, you know, so like that's a pretty good baseline.
You're taking 18 shots a game.
You should probably get 20.
Yeah.
But yeah, no, I think I was looking this up earlier.
That's, I think Carl is in town's average is 20.
I don't think anybody else on the pistons average is 20 outside of Kate Cunningham.
So like you're already getting a score that is right there and is more than a complimentary piece.
No, and it slots everybody else in properly too.
Derek White does not need to be a second score.
Peyton Pritchard goes to that six-man role where he's so much better.
Everything else slots imperfectly.
The question is, who's the lead guy and who's not?
And is the guy who's second happy sacrificing?
Do you use Jalen Brown's word?
I don't know that Jalen Brown was always happy sacrificing, but he did it.
And last night Tatum did it.
And I think that's a lot of credit to Tatum because I wasn't sure he would.
Paul is in Abington.
Get us started today, Paul.
Hey, good morning, gentlemen.
So it's not a bad situation, obviously, to be in when you've got Tatum and Brown on the same team
as we were all agree on that.
I think it would be one thing.
It was when you bring in a superstar with another superstar and they have not played yet together.
Ego is different things that might get in the way.
So these guys have already played together for whatever, seven, eight, nine years now.
I think that certainly helps them.
I just believe that Tatum is probably coming in.
More so thinking, obviously, he wants to, you know, amp up and be ready for the playoffs and all that involved.
So I guess I just think that it is Brown's team right now.
But it doesn't matter whose team it really is and, you know, over the long haul.
My two biggest points I wanted to try to make here was one is I just want to, I believe I, my opinion,
I don't think the Celtics win the championship this year unless they get back a healthy boost of it.
I think he's the key to making, if they can compete against San Antonio slash OKC.
And that's kind of still a stretch.
Other than that, I just want to know your opinion on if it already was twice last week, maybe I missed it.
Is Jalen Brown going to become a marked man because of his outburst last week?
And I only bring that up because Mark man by the officials.
Yeah, very, very close call.
Yeah, look.
Yeah, but look at what happened last night.
Oh, last night he got the calls.
You know, last night I was wondering because he's been complaining about it often on all season.
He finally gets thrown out of a game against the Spurs and then he followed that up with more complaining.
Talking about SGA is a foul bait or everything else.
And I was like, all right, I don't know how this is going for you.
And then last night he's at the free throw line every other second.
Yeah, he got a bunch of calls last night.
He did.
Don't you feel like he's a marked man with the officials?
Yeah, kind of.
I don't know if it's like Rashid Wallace to mark his cousin.
No, no, no, he just looks the wrong way.
He's going to call, but like Luca, I mean, Luca gets teed up a bazillion times now and he deserves it.
Because the way he complains you are, Luca's a marked man, but with the officials.
Yeah.
So now I'm kind of second-guessing to what degree I think Jalen is.
Yeah.
I didn't think he would get a lot of calls, say, like in a playoff series when it really matters.
But now I'm not sure.
Now I'm like, if they're going to react that way, and if you have different officiating crews,
will there be a game where, you know, let's say Brown plays the same type of game.
A goal or the basket is aggressive both times.
So it's not like he's settling or anything.
I could see one night he has six free throws and one night he has 16.
Like I feel like the refs, they're also different.
Some of them might listen to them.
Some of them might hold a grudge, whatever it might be.
But yeah, last night was, he kind of got what he wanted, right?
He got a lot of calls.
He also mentioned Vuchavitch, a healthy, he didn't sound very optimistic that Vuchavitch would be healthy.
I think, I don't think he's, I disagree.
He's the key to a title.
I don't think he's the key, but he's very helpful, and especially it's a need.
And that's why we complimented the trade at the time.
When's the last regular season game, like a month from now?
Like I think he might need me back before that.
Three to four weeks and they said at the time, right?
Yeah.
I think he's going to be, you know, certainly back.
I mean, at 100%, I guess I don't know.
Their final game is April 12th.
So, you know, he had surgery like a week and a half ago.
And so I guess, yeah, do the math two and a half more weeks.
I think he's definitely going to be back.
I mean, I guess if you say 100, will he completely be himself?
I guess we'll find out.
Yeah, but you need it.
I think especially against those teams out west, but even against Cleveland and Detroit.
I think you need him.
Yeah.
You need his size against Detroit.
You know, and you'll, it would certainly help against San Antonio.
Okay, so he's not wrong about that.
Text line is, well, bringing up the two of these Tatum and Brown and how they cohabitate.
I heard, I heard Curtis bringing this up today.
He thinks they're trading, Jaylin.
I don't get that.
I don't understand that at all.
Unless you think it's a money crunch, right?
And if you want to play that game, but I don't think so.
I think they're, they found ways to get under the aprons by trading all the other players.
I think you want to keep Tatum and Brown together as long as you can.
I know that's that maybe counter intuitive when the prices keep going up and up and up.
But that's why you have Brad Stevens.
I feel like you can't have two max guys.
And then Brad Stevens finds the Hugo Gonzalez and the Jordan Walters of the world to sprinkle it in.
And then that keeps an advantage of the other team.
So trust me, there's been years where we've talked a lot about trading them.
But that was before they won the title.
I'm not there now.
I'm keeping these guys together.
I don't think you and I personally have done much of that anymore.
I did tons of, I traded Jaylin.
We had a caller a couple weeks ago.
Remember when we told him, I'm like, what are you talking about?
Yeah.
I traded Jaylin so many times for so many different players in the first like seven or eight years of his career.
Oh, yeah.
Until they won.
And then I'm like, all right.
I'll back off on that one.
I don't think we've done much of that at all since we've been a show keef.
And you know, could you play a hypothetical game?
Would you trade him for like Cooper flag in the offseason when you knew Tatum was going to be out?
Yeah.
Or like you get to bands.
That might have been one we entertained.
But again, that's with we thought Tatum might be out for a year as a hypothetical.
I don't think that was ever really on the table.
Yeah.
In general, I don't think we've done much of that.
And so do I think Chism really cares about the bottom line?
Thousand percent.
Of course.
You know, he got not just under the apron.
He got under the luxury tax this year.
He didn't need to get under the luxury tax for basketball penalties.
That was for his tax line.
So I think that definitely matters.
And I guess I understand the premise.
Jaylin's value will be at an all time high.
Like I get that.
Yeah, but I still like why are we trading Jaylin?
And I think the garbage teams are going to end up with the top couple picks in the draft.
That doesn't really make a lot of sense for them to make that deal.
So I'm not doing that.
Plus, if they're trying to save money, which I'm sure they are,
at least trying to make more money, I think you move on from like a guy like Halzer.
And you're like, all right, we can find somebody for less than $10 million that can do what he does.
I don't want to give her to them.
I'm just saying like if it ends up being a money coach,
or like Vousavitch walks away in free agency and you don't bring them back.
Like it's those if your owner is going to cheap out.
That's where he's keeping up.
He's not cheaping out on Jaylin.
But I don't think.
I mean, if so, then this guy's way worse than I thought.
And I think it's pretty bad.
No.
So yeah, if he if he's trading Jaylin, then that's no, I think the city,
as you said, keep we're talking about this off the earth.
The city would revolt.
I think you would have to because those two guys have already signed long term.
So this isn't some of those other deals like,
oh, is he honest going to stick around?
Is he not?
Or afraid of guys going to leave?
Like as long as it's not that, that's the only reason to really trade the star player
in the NBA is when you don't think you can reassign them.
If they demand their way out.
Or they demand a trade, which happens all the time.
But to this point, it hasn't happened with these guys.
No.
And I do think you have to give Tatum and Brown a lot of credit for this, Keith.
And we talk a lot about who's team is it and are they happy?
But you just went through it.
Colby and Shaq burned out way before these guys.
Wade and LeBron, who are actual friends.
LeBron's bailed on so many teams.
Burned out way before these guys.
Kyrie burned out on LeBron.
Who is the other one you mentioned?
Oh, Durant and Curry.
Durant's bailed on a bunch of teams.
So like, I mean, they're already way past that.
And yeah, I don't, I don't think Jalen's going to demand a trade.
If he did, I, I guess that's different.
But I don't, I don't really need to go there.
Despite Jalen's trade value, I agree.
Being at an all time high this off season.
Six, one, seven, seven, seven, nine, seven, ninety, three, seven.
Let's get to the Bruins, gagging it away last night in New Jersey.
So it all timed out pretty well.
You got to watch a wild overtime where the Bruins fell flat on their face at the end.
You got to tune in for a little Celtics.
We'll get to the world baseball classic later on.
Then his way level face USA tonight as they punch their ticket against team Italy.
But the Bruins fall apart and leave a big point on the table.
What's it mean for them?
We'll get live can feel overwhelming.
But on my podcast from the heart with Rachel Brayton were in it together.

I hope for Carter.
Carter.
Cheers.
It's over with six seconds to go.
Jones and Keith, 1990 slash early 2000s.
Heavy metal, new metal grunge alternative.
Poppunk, butt rock, rock bands, bracket rolls on.
Grab bag region now open.
Number one green day.
First number nine oasis.
You can go vote at Jones and Keith.
Congratulations to Dave Grohl, advancing in one of these matchups.
Good for him.
Nirvana is through against James addiction.
That just went final from yesterday's grunge region.
We'll get three more matchups today in the grab bag region.
Weezer smashing pumpkins 311 and blink 182.
Third, I blinded nine inch nails and then we're on the sweet 16 tomorrow.
With what is it?
Corn, libiscate.
Oh my God.
You might not sleep tonight.
What am I going to do?
Who am I going to vote for?
I'm going to have a long think about it.
That's going to be a tough one.
Because either one could win the whole thing.
Let me tell you right now.
They could.
Not my bracket.
Why are they losing the next round?
We'll see.
So go vote at Jones and Keith.
Meanwhile, wild, crazy overtime for the Bruins last night against New Jersey.
They do get a point.
It felt like they were about to get the win.
McVoy rings the post.
Next thing, you know, devils are breaking out the other way and codder gets a second goal
the game winner.
You know, T Bruins had a two nothing lead.
What was the stat you gave me, Nick?
I missed this.
I guess in real time last night.
Yeah, I showed on the TV last night.
The devils were one in 28 when trailing by two goals this year.
Geez.
That's the most.
I beat somebody.
The most dangerous lead in hockey for the opponent to protect them.
They're not even coming back in that.
They were up too much too early.
Good point.
Good point.
Good point.
Too much game left.
The devils made them pay.
I thought they won.
Now, I don't have the best eyesight as you know.
You thought they won on the McVoy once?
Yeah.
I was like, review it.
And they're like, before I can even sit down.
The post noise, I thought was a dead giveaway.
Yeah.
The ringing.
I thought it was a little posting in.
Now, you could go in there and then kind of reflect out.
Yeah.
Because I was like, it was chaotic.
Corpse.
Give him credit, man.
Corpse was standing on his head.
Dude, at the time.
But that was, that was, in overtime, he was great.
Now, he should have lost five times prior to when they actually lost the game.
He was, the corpse was great in OT.
Nothing he could do on that, that game winner.
And then I kept waiting for Hughes to score, because I'm like, this is going to be like the Olympics.
And he was just, I'm like, open nice.
He whiffed on one.
He did like a wide open love.
He's skating circles around people.
Yeah.
But no, no, that was, that was actually pretty fun.
So I, I guess a charitable way to look at it would be.
Pastronaut had two goals last night.
The second one was filthy.
Just slides it in back in.
He was really good last night.
He was.
And so, that goal gets him a point.
I mean, I, I guess that's one way to look at it.
Yeah.
The other way would be New Jersey's terrible.
I know.
That was a big two points for you to get.
Road game, though, for the road game, getting a point.
I guess.
Almost kind of take it.
That's true.
What did we say we wanted on this trip?
Three.
Yeah, I think so.
Did we say three points?
I thought that's what we said going into it.
No, already got it.
They're already there.
That's money.
So I mean, I guess.
But when you're up to nothing against a bad team like New Jersey, even on the road.
I know.
And now it's won this one.
Now it's Montreal tonight back to back.
But you get swam in back in there.
You do.
And this is also one where as much as we're looking at teams below the Bruins trying to hold
off Columbus.
The Bruins are one point behind Montreal.
So they win in regulation tonight because Detroit passed the Bruins again last night.
Yeah, Detroit.
Detroit.
Detroit.
It's also played one more game.
So it gets to that point where it's all kind of muddled.
But we've been talking about just wild card spots for the longest time.
A regulation win tonight.
They're now third in the Atlantic.
Play your way right up the standings.
Yeah.
So I mean, there's a chance.
We'll see.
They've been kind of charting water for a little bit.
Kind of sense the All-Star break, which also may or not the Olympic break.
But that also makes it tougher teams to really pass you by.
Like if you keep getting those loser points or whatever, like you'll take it.
We're running out of games.
We're down to what is a 15 games left in the season.
So they're still in a decent spot.
No, they are.
And they've played.
As you said, the extra game against Montreal.
So the Canadian still have that game in hand, regardless.
But it's Swaman tonight.
And Swaman has been really good since he's come back from the Olympics.
So keep that role in tonight at the Bell Center.
Typically not an easy place to play.
We felt like the rivalry was back a little bit.
That game up there earlier this year, Keith.
Yeah, yeah.
Or McAvoy took the puck off the job.
But there were a million fights in that game.
So we'll see if we get into that tonight.
Your thoughts on B's and Canadian's.
Your thoughts on the Bruins.
Gagging that one away last night in New Jersey.
Mark is in New Hampshire.
Hello, Mark.
Yeah.
Hey, guys.
I just want to comment real quick on the Tatum Brown thing.
It's a relevant discussion.
I'm not denying the relevancy of it.
But the fact that it is a discussion is a reflection on Tatum.
I'm not saying not heard or whatever.
But the fact, like do you think Larry Bird ever thought, hey, you know, Bill Walden's going
to be 0.40.
He's going to pass it over to Dennis Johnson on the colony.
He's going to have a three.
Of course not.
There was no denying who's in charge of that team.
Yeah.
But Mark, there was no denying.
Mark, there was no denying who's team it was.
It was birds.
It was never Bill Walden's team.
It was Bird's team.
Yeah.
It was, and Parrish and McCale never thought it was their team.
It was Bird's team.
Right.
And why is it not Tatum's team?
You're making my point.
Well, because you know, because Achilles, he just got back because Jalen's come back and
it's been his team and they've been really good without him.
It's to make it apples to apples.
I guess you would have to go back to the 80s.
You would have to have Bird miss a season.
You'd have to have Kevin McCale be in the MVP conversation and then also talk all the
long about how he's a number one guy.
And then they would return together.
That's the only way to be similar to this.
It has been Tatum's team up until this point.
And now it's sort of like Jalen Brown took over and now is that going to last five games,
10 games the rest of the season next year.
That's why I think it's a topic.
But when they won the championship, Brown was the one who won both the conference and the
final.
Yeah, true.
And Tatum didn't look happy about it.
No, but Tatum was still like the guy though.
It was sort of advertised as like the leader of the Celtics.
Big time.
So I guess I misunderstood where he was going.
I thought he was saying, you know, did Bird care if Bill Walton was, if the offense was
rolling through Walton.
I thought that's what he was saying.
It was never a question if it was Bird's team.
I don't think it's a question big picture if it's Tatum's team.
It will go back.
It will revert to Tatum next year.
Right now they're in a weird gray area.
And I actually think last night was really good for everyone.
Yeah.
If Tatum can spot up and be a secondary scorer to Jalen Brown when down the stretch when
you need big buckets and the offense is rolling through Jalen and they're winning games.
And again, the sons are not the spurs or OKC, but they're good.
Then I think that goes a long way for this team being at their best this season and going
as far as they can go.
If there's a struggle and a push and pull and last night there wasn't, then I think
that could get in the way.
So I think last night was actually a really good step.
617-779-793-7, our guy Monty Mack is defending Corpie in the Twitch chat, by the way.
Good Corpie guy?
Yeah, I guess.
I mean, I have Twitch chats really come around on him, I guess.
I guess.
Jones Corpie doesn't suck you do.
Ouch.
I mean, I guess.
Good luck coming back.
I guess we all like the corpse now, I guess.
He's a really good goalie.
He's a really good goalie, I guess.
No, he was great at OT.
Yeah, yeah.
Otherwise, I'd hope you can...
I guess it's good when you get a point in his starts.
I guess that's probably good.
Take the point.
717-779-793-7, more your feedback here.
