Welcome back. It is the Midday Show.
You're Douglas.
Show, Julia, we're live today for Birds Town Hall.
Here at McGurks in Oarsham.
Presented by Nova Care Rebuildations.
Join the St. Patrick's Day celebration going on at all McGurks locations next week.
Live music, Irish dancers, along with Irish food and drink specials all day long.
All right, here we've had quite a show here today.
It's a long day, man.
It's a bit while our day continues.
We're going to join the afternoon show later.
But we get one more hour on the Midday Show.
We've had some great guests.
Been showing John to start us off.
11 o'clock hour, we had Go Birds.
Of course, we have Elliot with us all show long on the third side.
Go bird.
Freency, that's last hour.
We got to talk to Shilka Potty and Lasten Sullivan.
And this hour, we get the football guys out here.
We get the twins.
It's a football guy hour joining us on the Midday Show.
I grease Jason Avon.
We got the twins.
All right, can we do it?
I'm doing pretty good.
I'm turning man, Michael.
I'm on.
I'm on.
You're good.
I hear you now.
I mean, how much you boy?
Yeah, I'm doing good, man.
Jason, Michael.
My mic is on.
Jason, how are you?
I'm doing good.
Michigan beat Michigan State the other day.
That's awesome.
That's what we do.
That's what we do right now.
Right there.
Make sure he didn't forget.
I don't know what you're talking about.
You ain't no twins.
I don't know what you're talking about.
You ain't no twins over here.
You know what I'm saying?
The bitch is like, y'all do look alike.
No.
Let me tell you the story.
He's the younger version.
That's what we were.
Me and I were out one day, right?
And somebody's swapping down.
He was Jason Devon.
I get that all the time.
And he was like, no, I'm not.
And I said, yes, you are.
And I'm like, I just said, hey, you better man.
When someone says I'm not this person,
you probably should believe him.
Oh, she didn't believe it at all.
That doesn't sound like it.
I either get Jason or I get Mike Quick.
I'd rather have Jason.
I love Mike Quick, but he's older.
At least Jason's younger.
So it's like the three stages of life.
I don't want to listen for me.
I wish I was.
Yeah, Mike Quick.
Mike Quick look great.
He does.
He look great.
But let's be honest.
I could be younger.
I'd be younger.
He's more fit.
Yeah.
And he can salsa day.
He went to a lesser school.
But he's more fit.
I say, younger.
They're now the shots are being traded.
All right, guys.
Let's get into it.
It is Birdstown Hall.
And we are awaiting the big moves from the Eagles.
But we did get one.
Ike, your thoughts on Terrick Wolland?
One year, 15 million to come and play
on the other side of Queen Young Mitchell.
Listen.
I love the idea of having Rick Wolland here.
But we got to get the good version of Terrick Wolland.
His physical attributes have always been off the charts.
He's talking about a six, three, six, four, a cornerback,
200 plus pounds.
He's physical.
He plays with a chip on his shoulder.
You know, and from the.
Was he a defensive rookie in a year?
I know he was in a hunt for him.
Yeah.
I know if he wanted.
Yeah.
I mean, it's not all pro in his young career.
You know, if they get the best version of Terrick Wolland,
do you talk about a secondary that can state the claim to be
in the best secondary in all of football with those three there?
Yep.
I mean, your safes just need to be decent, competent.
Okay.
Be competent.
My question is you is this like because I made a comparison.
And it helps you pass rush.
Yeah, it does.
But I made a comparison.
Like, was, do you think it was the defense that he was in?
Because I was talking about we first got here.
Uh, ET's defense.
It's a little more complicated.
Does it, when you think it would help him if the defense maybe
was a little bit more simplified or just letting play,
played man to man?
I gotta be honest with you.
It's, it's more about his maturity of playing the position
and understanding the technical side of playing a cornerback
position.
But also being able to sort of crown and control your emotions
in a game like, again, his physical attributes.
You got to think about this.
Seattle was the best defense in the league this year.
He was a role player in that deep.
They played Josh Job over him.
So, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
And this was an already an established guy.
And he, you know, he been an all-proven defensive rookie
in the year.
Yeah.
And so they saw fit to put him in the role that he was in.
I'm not going to go crazy because I love the idea of re-wollen.
But I won't go crazy with my expectations.
Because I, you know why?
Probably frankly, I don't need to.
I got Quinion Mitchell on the other side.
Yeah.
He's going to be my number two cornerback.
Yeah.
Number two?
Yeah.
Oh, you mean Quinion's number one, right?
Yes, yes, yes.
That's what I'm saying.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, I'm still in trust in Quinion Mitchell with the bigger responsibility.
Yeah.
Re-wollen just has to go over there and lock down the number two
and number three while receiver.
And he's going to do that for most days.
Speaking of lock down, both of you guys.
Is that more so?
Because, you know, you could play in defense where everybody else
playing their defensive, like put him in a position where he could
play man that, like, do his thing?
Is it more so like that in order to allow his physical attributes to shine?
Yeah.
He has, he has, he has game because he had some success early in the league.
And it reminds me of a player that has been, that's out of the league now.
Xavier Rose for the Vikings.
It's the same exact thing.
Big body.
He's a big body that can run.
But he struggles with discipline.
He holds a lot.
And he goes for a lot of double moves.
When you have that big frame and you are straight line guy,
when you have to redirect, especially in that division.
When you have the Shawn McVeigh, you have, you know, those smaller risk.
You have those smaller guys.
Whether running you across the field, they're running you through bodies.
And he's a guy that can hold up if you're running straight line down the field
routes or you're running deeper and he can get his hands on you.
But other than that, it's going to be a challenge at times when guys know that
he's out there and they can put their number one on him and have routes against him.
He has some deficiencies, but down the field and making plays on the ball,
he can do that.
But when you target him, short spaces, double moves, it's a struggle.
Listen, I take him in every word, he just said.
As a wild receiver, he's looking at breaking down a defensive back
with the strengths and the weaknesses of a guy that has his measurables.
And that big body, that big frame is hard to change direction.
And so you want to get him going in a horizontal, changing direction,
double moves, things of that nature versus playing to his strength,
which is straight line down the field.
Yeah.
He can bump him around, he's fast enough, he can run with you.
Which is probably what Seattle discovered and put him in the role that he's in.
Exactly.
And that's why they were successful because they had them where they were sproling,
they had other guys that can do it.
So I say this is that, like you said, the expectation can't be too great.
And then the Eagles just have to know what situations and where to put him.
He's not a guy that you can just trust to lock down the side.
He's going to need help at times, maybe not down the field on vertical routes.
But if you get a situation where Devonte Adams is against him,
that's not a great look for him.
But I think I still will have to follow the best guy if that be the case.
Well, what I think is interesting is they gave him a decent chunk of change.
They did.
Like, I think everything you're describing is true.
But to me, that sounds like a $4 million player, not a $12 million.
Well, so they must have higher expectations from.
And I think a slight difference between him and Adori Jackson.
I think Adori Jackson's floor is higher.
Like, Adori is a veteran, he knows where to be.
But I kind of know where you're getting.
But I think the difference with Wullen is if God forbid knock on wood,
where to go down.
He is at least more capable of stepping into the role of being the number one
than you would want with Adori.
Yeah.
With all of Adori Wullen's flaws, he's better than Adori Jackson.
Yeah, but he makes bigger mistakes, too, though, I think.
But for what he could possibly do from a making play stand point,
you accept some mistake.
Asante gave up a few plays time to time.
But what's interesting is that he made a lot of plays.
He made a lot of plays.
That's not really who Vic is like, though.
I'm just saying, from a player that may give you negative plays,
if he makes more positive plays, you sort of, you can deal with it.
I do wonder if this is a Vic Fangio thing or a Howie thing,
because Elliot, to your point on that, it might not be a...
That's a good question.
It might not be a fancy.
Well, let me ask you guys this.
If you're Howie this offseason, are you consulting?
If you know Vic is going to retire soon, do you consult Vic that much?
Especially the draft.
Yeah, you got what I'm going to tell you.
Why wouldn't you?
He got...
He says, here's why you would, Joe.
The knowledge that he has from playing defense,
devising defenses, scheming up defenses, knowing personnel,
that's always an asset to you.
So much so.
He was a...
Wasn't he a...
He's an advisor to them.
Yeah, an advisor to them.
It was in 2002.
It was in 2002.
Yeah, in 2002.
So they've always respected and appreciated the knowledge Vic Fangio brings.
Yeah.
And I think Rick Willen is going to have to adjust his game,
like he did later in the season, down the stretch of the season,
less of a chance taker, more discipline, keep the ball in front of you.
That's what Seattle forced him to do.
That's not who he is naturally.
He's a guy that wants to make a play on the ball.
You make that comparison to Dory Jackson.
Dory Jackson, for sure, Vic Fangio in front of you,
because he's going to not beat D.
Right.
He's going to keep the ball in front of you.
He may give up a million slants or a million hitch routes,
but he's going to keep the ball in front of you.
And I don't necessarily know if that's in Rick Willen's makeup.
Come on, man.
Hey, let me tell you.
I love going on, Mitchell.
But we already got one corner.
Don't get a lot of interceptions.
I need it.
Yeah, somebody needs somebody.
You need a ball.
Yeah, somebody.
He just can't catch.
All right.
Great play.
Just can't catch it.
Now that we got the pleasantries out of the way,
we were all happy when he talked to the defense.
It's always a receiver.
Can you guys...
Now that we're all happy and we're all...
We kind of got the flow of this.
Can you guys help me?
Please, I need help.
I can't get through to Hugh on the A.J.
Can you please help me?
He just...
Oh, A.J.
He didn't see it.
He thinks A.J.
He's going to be here.
Thanks for being too hard on A.J.
Yeah, A.J.
Come on.
A.J.
A.J. has become a pariah.
Why?
The last couple of weeks.
Because he's different.
Because he doesn't want to be here.
I don't see it like that.
He's a pariah.
Yeah, he's a pariah.
It's kind of strong.
No, dude.
Listen.
People call in and talk about he tanked the whole season.
He gave up all year long.
No, he didn't listen.
You know what I mean?
Listen to that.
I got frustrated A.J. at times as well.
We all been frustrated with that.
He's not a pariah.
I don't think he tanked the season.
I don't think he gave up on the season.
I think he let his frustrations get the best of him.
Better of him.
At times.
And sometimes that shows up in your play.
However you want to describe that.
You know, that's left open to interpretation.
Because we all can look at the same play and see something different.
I can't look at anything different than that playoff game.
That playoff game you quit.
Yeah.
And I can't say.
I can't say.
Like maybe not in the season.
I can't say this.
No, nobody's arguing that.
But that playoff game was a guy that was disinterested in continuing his playoff journey for that year.
No, no, no doubt in that question.
Do you think he was disinterested or do you think he was frustrated?
Now, the result is unacceptable either way.
But I think there is a difference.
But here's what I was saying, though.
He was frustrated when you're frustrated.
And what you're in the playoffs and you're getting tired.
You got the ball thrown to you.
I'm frustrated.
I agree.
But I guess what I'm saying is to me, A.J. seems like someone that is overly emotional as opposed to checked out.
Like he gets frustrated and that impacts his play as opposed to not caring.
I'll say this.
I'll say this.
I didn't say you didn't care.
I didn't say you didn't care.
What I said was that I think that he quit in the game.
From the first play of the game.
And to the last play of the game.
His effort weren't there.
Go get a safety.
Say, Juan could have had a 20 yard game on the first play of the game.
And we went over this multiple times through the season in that game.
And say, Juan, 70 to 80 yards on the ground in that game was directly affected by A.J. Brown's effort in that game.
In blocking.
In blocking.
I agree with that.
Yeah.
And then we saw what he did when it came to catching the ball.
Right.
The safety looked like he kind of put a little fear in A.J.
That's the truth.
That's the truth.
You can't argue that.
You can't argue that.
Listen, when you talking about that position.
I got somebody here to play the position as well as he played the position for the amount of years.
That he played in the league.
I defer to the things he's saying, what he sees out there at that position.
Because he knows what's expected from that position.
He's been in this league a long time.
I'm simply saying this idea that we're supposed to just be like,
what A.J. was frustrated, so it was okay.
Like, what are we talking about here?
Like, that's definitely not right.
How's it that he gets to fill a certain way with no one else on the team gets to feel that way?
Well, the whole thing's been made of it.
He's makes it about him.
He's made it about him.
He's just saying what is super important.
Like, this can't, and this word, this word, let me put my hand on my big brother's shoulder here.
Here we go.
Listen to him here.
Listen.
I put my hand on my big brother's shoulder over here because I wanted to know I'm with him.
I'm with him in spirit.
I'm with him in spirit.
What?
I just think you're seeing this thing wrong from the view of where A.J.
Copable and host responsibility versus what fans have witnessed and saw and what they should
expect and how they reaction, their reaction should be.
Although I get that.
Like, it's not the fans fault that they feel like a player didn't give his effort the way he should have,
the way we expect him to give for the amount of money that he makes for the level of talent that he has in his body.
The fans have always had high expectations.
We can't blame them for what they saw out there on the field.
That was uninspiring football from A.J. Brown this year.
Now, he may, at some point, try to give an explanation for that to justify why it looked like it was uninspired football.
But because we all watched A.J. in 2022 and a half of 2023, when he arguably looked like the best receiver in football,
something has changed with him and his demeanor and everything else with this offense and wanting to be a part of this team.
Something has changed and you can't deny that and you can't hide it.
And if you want to say it's the quarterback, then guess what?
You can't sit here and recklessly speculate about that.
That's what A.J. needs to say that.
No, it's not fair.
It's not fair for you.
It's not fair for that.
If that's what it is, then say that's what it is.
It's recklessly speculate.
No, no, no, I'm talking about A.J.
If that's what it is, then justify his behavior and his demeanor.
They should say that.
Passive aggressive.
Yeah. Passive aggressive.
That's not going to work here.
Exactly.
No, I told you.
It's the opposite of what works here.
You're fighting an uphill battle, defending that.
Passive aggressive?
Yeah, because they didn't like Donovan because he was passive aggressive.
You know, like Donovan gets it right.
There's a lot of players just gotten ripped in this city for being passive aggressive.
No, I don't deny that.
But this is where I push back.
Because you're right.
And everything that you said is right.
I push back on when people say that he tanked the whole season.
Like, because that hit I didn't believe he did.
I don't think that in most people.
I think, but no, Joe, when people call in and say where he dogged the whole season.
And that's why I'm like, he didn't do that.
Now, if you talk about that playoff game,
because I was in here the day when Jason came in and he said it.
And everything that you said, rings true.
And you're talking to somebody who knows the position and knows what they see.
You got to defer to that guy.
And I never said, I never tried to defend him on that.
I defended him on the fact that he didn't.
People saying that he gave up the whole season.
I don't believe that.
I believe that his emotions got the best of him.
And it affected the way that he played down the stretch.
So I didn't agree with that.
But now, it's not worth keeping this player around.
And that's where I got.
But even though he didn't tank the season as far as his effort and his energy,
his attitude clearly had a big effect on derailing the season.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Of course it did.
But what about?
You said, I mean, I'm not saying that it was his effort on the field, the entirety of the season.
But when you have a player that's complaining about getting the ball when you're winning
and when he has a good game, you're getting the ball thrown to you.
It's still about AJ and you make it about him.
It's tough.
Do not condone that.
But I'm going to ask both of you guys a question.
In those winning stretches that we had early in the season.
Okay.
What did you think the offense looked like?
No, baddie.
Did the offense look efficient?
No.
No.
He asked questions.
It didn't.
Yeah, but nobody disputes that.
No, nobody is just saying.
You're not AJ was right in what he said.
It's whether or not he should have said it.
And that's not, I'm not arguing that.
What, but that's true.
But it was the truth.
Yeah, but sometimes the truth is not good for you to say publicly.
Hold on.
Hold on.

Here we go.
You know damn well.
You don't always say the truth.
I do.
Now.
Now.
I ain't got no hold me back.
I ain't got no leash.
Well, that's the thing though.
That's the thing.
And I'm glad you said that.
If AJ was a free agent or on another team, then it'd be okay if he spoke his truth.
When you're on a team in the season where everybody relies on you,
your energy impacts the entire locker room.
That's how great of an influence he has on the team.
I agree with that.
He's a captain.
And he's well respected.
I agree with that.
So if he's not in the right frame of mind or he's feeling a certain way,
then that's going to have an effect on the other guys.
I will say this though.
I agree with you.
Yeah.
But in defense of you in this situation,
there ain't been many players that came out and said anything about AJ Brown.
No.
Oh no.
Because I think AJ Brown is the guy.
He's both nobody thinks he's wrong with the point of view that he has.
Hold on.
By the way, I said this.
I agree with him when the offense was ranked 29th in the lead passing offense.
When did they get better from it?
No.
Well, I'm just saying they still want the Super Bowl.
They still want the Super Bowl.
Okay.
So we do have a look at it.
It's one thing to say from the inside doesn't have a point of view.
I'm sure the organization feels that way.
They've tried to work with him and appease him because of the things he was frustrated with.
We saw that the overly targets in a game.
Completely abandoned offense a game plan that you have in one half
to make him happy to get him the ball in the second half.
Like they've done that.
So nobody is ignoring AJ's pleas and frustrations.
The point is that if you're in the season and you're trying to win,
that's not conducive to winning.
Totally agree.
That's not conducive to team bonding.
And it's a new coordinator and it's a new office.
How are we going to run this back?
So you can't be surprised when things go wrong.
When somebody decides this is more important to point out and shine a light on
versus showing support for one another and being encouraging.
All right.
Can I make a point?
And then I want to recklessly expect him.
All right.
So here's my thing.
We're in the locker room right now.
Dammit.
Joe hold on.
Here's the kicker over here.
Here's my thing about this.
About this.
I think AJ Brown's what he is playing for and what the Eagles want
are two totally different things.
Uh-huh.
AJ Brown has won his Super Bowl.
AJ Brown wants to play for his legacy and be making a hall of fame and
making pro-boys and getting money.
I think the Eagles still want to play in that Super Bowl window.
So I think the two things are totally different.
So it's bound.
And I can respect that.
But let me ask.
I can respect that.
If that's what he has made a priority, then I think the Eagles.
But do we think that's different as former players and especially former receiver?
Do you think that's different though than how Sequan feels?
Because Sequan has his title and Devonte has his title.
So AJ does a better job hiding it.
But I think that Devonte and Sequan feel the same way.
AJ.
I don't have their title.
I don't know if they feel the same.
What do you think they'd rather have numbers or another title?
Right now the recklessly speculate because I think this is what it is.
And I've always felt that.
And I've said this.
I feel like the biggest aims came from accountability with this offense.
Being as stagnant as it has been.
And that's why he was paid, because I go back to him when Jaylen talked about
the offense looking like it looks because he wants it to look like that.
And this offense, if we're being honest with that, but what was that in response to?
That it was talking about.
There was a response to what AJ said if I'm not mistaken or media questioning what the office look like
His play but but here's the thing I can you know both of you guys know this just as well as I do
In the failed is always constantly evolving and I think most of his frustration
His yeah, and he's caught it back in the lead
He was I think he was more upset because this offense was stagnant and it hadn't changed
Well, hold on when they catch the ball when it's thrown to you. I mean don't give up on a deep route against Denver
You can't you can't you can't you can't you can't you can't I mean no no
I mean it's from AJ standpoint. Yeah, you can't point out everybody else
And this was my biggest issue with AJ. Who's a AJ fan? My biggest issue with him was I never heard it's me and I need to do better
I never heard his
His where he could do better in this yeah, you're constantly pointing the finger at everyone else
Play calling passing all these other things. How about you giving maximum effort
Landed on the line going up the jump balls catching the ball not jumping off-size and critical situations on third down in Dallas
Like when did you ever say it's on me never and that's that's that's on me
Yeah, and that's what happens and forget it
That's what happens if you give me that there's a thing he actually contribute to why they were losing
I agree with you, but I agree with you. Oh, he can't he can't complain
Cuz I'm rolling right now big dog. He can't complain about someone else when your yard isn't clean
When your yard is clean you can complain about somebody else doing their job. You you know
If a cornerback is gonna complain about the past rush that cornerback better be doing
His job is that is that right now he ought to pull it you know it you know I'm right
You gotta do your job in order for you to complain about anybody else on the team and I doing their job
Everything that you're saying is correct
But the office
At the office it wasn't good. I think it wasn't it wasn't all his fault
That's the problem that that's the problem that I have
Said he can tribute it. No, he did everybody could that's all nobody in this whole scenario. I never once
Said that that AJ should be absolved of anything. dealership jalen hurts. I agree
Well, that he was your jalen hard when this jalen could absolve him anything except on WIP
Now the jalenites come on. All right, no, but that's my point cuz every time this conversation comes up
And we had we point out the fact that hey, it might have been a quarter bad. Jalen thought the one asking out
That's why we're off him right now
I'll please cut this audio wait off my shoulders gonna play this tomorrow when we start
Just play it back just play it back. All right coming up on the other side
We got to go we got to check in with the serve side free and see the other side apparently he goes lost the path another
Past russure Elliott will tell us about that coming up and we got asked the guys to say Eagles should jump in on max
Crosby after the whole thing with the Ravens fell apart. That's all coming up next midday show live in McGurkson Horsham sports radio

Us we had like I'm talking about the people
The weekend before it's on Tuesday. Yeah, yeah, so we can't we can't it in this weekend
We get after each on a celebrate early
Well, I mean
It's like on a Tuesday
It's on Tuesday. Yeah, it's on Tuesday. So it's this week. We celebrate it moves up. I think I get the lodge
Yeah, so I feel like you celebrated this week or if you if you if you really if you're hard core about yours you get both
You do both believe me. I'm not hardcore
We're not what we're used to be. Yeah, come on. All right. Can we
Get excited about these all day. I don't get excited. Remember you just get excited about single tomorrow
Yeah, you're out on that too
We are in our bird's-town hall though as we will be for the rest day our afternoon show coming up at two
We have Icrease and Jason about with us this hour. Let's go over to serve side ice tea and vodka
The service I'm free as they're going to be here by the way serve side I see in vodka all of more than six
You have served in drink come on down enjoy two dollars off serve sides and state side cans from four to six
So that is about the time I'm done for the day. So maybe I will go do that
Elliott can we check in for you?
See it as I know you were telling me that he goes lost another past pressure
Yeah, it's another past pressure. They only have two on the roster as
Josh Uche has signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphin
So look at oh not a huge loss, but he was a nice depth
Oh
Well, they only got two now, so they got to go out and find bodies somewhere they do
Your guys
Josh Uche now that was ojolary
All right, so another move there
Well, we were Bradley job would be a good one Jonathan Grenard or the big one
I need both your take on the max crossbeast situation because boy oh boy
Did that thing flip on its head last night? So crossbeast obviously not going to the race
Fail the physical is failed and now he's back with the Raiders ike you're thought on the whole thing and
Shit how we get involved
First of all that that is crazy
I don't care what the Ravens say I don't fall
But it certainly smells fishy. It smells like they got a better
They got an inclination that they can do a better deal with trade Hendrickson
And they took advantage of the window
To back out of this deal although they're trying to frame it as if max crossbe
It's physical which really shines a negative light on max crossbeast now how are other teams right supposed to be eager to go
Want to get max crossbeast so it's one thing if you back out of the deal

Have every right to do that. I said this earlier if a player backed out of a deal which we've seen with the Eagles the Charles Bentley
Frank Gore Frank Gore like it's happened
So I'm not going to be mad from that standpoint. That's what this window is for if somebody changed their mind
I just don't like that they framed it that it was he failed the fiscal when quite you knew damn well
He just had surgery
I was basically saying he's got the Baltimore has done this before I don't I don't remember the exact player
But they they've have a history of backing out a deal similar to that
So that work had a list earlier you while we're doing the show. I think it's three times that they were all free agents
This is the first time it was a trade, but yeah, but they got out of deals before
So I listen, I like I said I'm not gonna kill Baltimore for the decision to do it
I just don't like the light they put Max. Well, yeah, because they put him in a bad spot. Although that's from a player former player standpoint
I'm the Eagles there we go. They have lessened the the asking
I said I get I asked what I get you a second for
I'm sure I give you two first round picture
I get you two for yeah, the tough thing about that is now if a team trades for him
They're doing it with an assumption that they're taking a risk and lies in the public
So if the Eagles trade for Max Crosby and he ends up hurt everyone's gonna say well, what'd you think you know
Right, so I think there's some added risk come that comes with him now if you did but you're not do you agree that it was all and would also lessen his
His value they say they still went to first round picks. Yeah, but that's the way that's happened
That's the unfortunate thing about this situation the way it was reported
Because people that don't know
Are be like all he's damaged, but but it all depends it's subjective to the team that you're going to this is going to always like that
This is gonna change the rules
Then if then if it was gonna come in and either offer some type of pick
That some some type of compensation for this for the Raiders for the Raiders for the Raiders like yeah for the Raiders because in this situation
You know the players hurt you're at the finish line now it hurts the player and it hurts the team because his values hurt
Right, so so they need to be compensated some picks and what does it look like for other teams dealing with the Ravens?
Yeah, like I don't want to deal with a team that's going to going to go on
Let's do all the new that 14th pick for AJ. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, well. Yeah, now we're talking they go back now
Because the Ravens have or would they give up their two first round picks was one next year, right?
It was yeah, it was the 14th this year and the next year's one. No, but I think he was give up one of those
AJ I always thought the Ravens should have been in on AJ everybody look at Josh Allen and and somebody's other quarterback
Jackson yeah
I think the chiefs the chiefs make a ton of sense to now that they got
I mean they should be in win now mode as well. Yeah, the Ravens have in two extra ones that they didn't have two days ago
That should definitely put them back in the mix and they're receiving them as Zay flowers and nothing
I mean they could certainly get in the mix. So all right, would you guys offer
Obviously, it's not two ones anymore. Would you offer the 23rd pick no from x crossby? I
don't think you we have enough money
I'll say this you're going to pay three defensive players max a week ago. I said no
Today, I'm saying I think about it
I'm in from x crossby because if he just went for two first round picks getting a half off you're getting him in a half price
Now the 23rd pick
It's too high
It is high you I agree. I would much rather
Joe give up a second round pick sure to yeah, I'm offered to and that could become a one in 27 if that's the case
Based on incentives. Yeah, if he plays a lot of snaps or yeah, he shows healthy. I will say this my concerns about
investing that much in a
And max crossby, right
Put my cards on the table if it was mouse Garrett, I wouldn't think twice
I'd go get mouse Garrett
Mouse Garrett is a generational player that I would go get
Max crossby is a very good player
Yes, he's had sacks how impactful has that been
Would he help the Eagles out?
Yes
Only way I do that deal is if I'm keeping AJ
Cuz I don't know what match crossby does for you in a year that you may be taking a step back
I'd rather have you know, I'd rather have AJ the max cross it. No, no
They're ain't no way now if it was like if it's a head-up trade right now today. I'm taking max crossby now
AJ helps his team more they need a receiver more than they need a pass for the Raiders
We put Randy Moss with the Raiders and they were terrible. It don't matter how great he's a great player
I'm not this guy
I think one thing to note about a sacks how often is he ever leading in the fourth quarter he gets all those sacks at the beginning of the game
Everyone runs on them in the fourth quarter. They lose almost every week. Yeah, I think he'd be great here
I think he was I
Think it's just it really boils down to what you're willing to do on him. Yeah, basically
I'm okay with getting a player
It's with what you're willing to pay for the player. Well, I think too because we're all looking at this Ravens thing a little shady
Which makes sense, but now cuz I want to take a trade Hendrix and two he's still a 28-29 year old coming off a meniscus
Surgery that you're gonna have to give $60 million to right? So meniscus is not that bad
I think I don't like I would agree overall, but in I don't know what you can never hey, that's all no
I'd be worried about giving someone with that with that knee problem $60 million that would be my concern
And cuz at 23 you're drafting a rookie that's cheap. I'll tell you I would
No, he might not be good. I didn't want to give Jaylen Phillips 30 million dollars here
I would have kept out that Jaylen Phillips at 24 25 million
But obviously I wouldn't enough. I'm a bad negotiator. So I would have just given him 30
But I
35 there ain't no way I'm giving Jaylen Phillips 30 million
No, I wouldn't give it this time here. We focus focus so much on price this time of year
But they don't have the player now. So you're right like they saved the money
But they also don't have an ed rusher outside of jail x hunt really
Do you think it's time for how we to redo his philosophy? I back in the day the equals used to resign players during the season
I'll say this Joe and they don't have Jaylen Phillips, but some of that money just landed you a number two corner bag
It did yeah, it did and now you go into the draft that you don't have to worry about spending a high draft pick on that number two corner
Yeah, you can get one in the third round second round that can learn behind to reek woolen and be to start in the following year some of this stuff is
It is driven by how much is hitting up against your salary cap and where you're allocating money of course
Is it for this year for next year and you got these three guys is your corners
That's gonna help your help you upfront. Yeah, and like I'm gonna solve you get a Bradley Chubb in here, man. I would take him
Yeah, I've been smelling rally chub bg
There's a lot of bg for your Michigan. Yeah, but that's bargain that's bargain been hunting and by the chubb
I love this is full season bg
There's a lot of young talent in this draft too. There's a lot of athletes
Well, you can draft woman. I don't know what can I can't depend on rookies
You know you defensive like defensive lineman are gonna go right away. That's what I'm saying
I mean, and I think that you can you can get you know back for your butt for the defensive lineman early on listen
You know you're talking about a past russian a rookie the good one you got to be special to make an impact as a rookie
Everybody ain't you Douglas everybody can't be defensive rookie of the year. Yeah, you're right about to have that
Yeah
All right, which we're questions sponsored by the p i di daniel center you're smiles the first thing that other C when they meet you learn about and schedule
You're a valuation p i daniel center dot com all right here. What you guess of the poll today which way?
Everyday same guess which way is the arrow pointing on the eagles future upper down
I would probably save 65 percent up. You're close 59 percent voted up
a lot of
That's why I didn't listen to the afternoon show.
Lower expectations, Reese.
He said it's not true.
I used to lower these expectations for weeks.
I get my car every day.
I'm like, man, I'm going to win seven.
Didn't sit.
No, that spike was seven.
Yeah.
The camera, the camera is basically at six this morning.
Yeah.
Now I think we can still win the NFC East.
And win the NFC East.
He got real quiet.
Host the home.
Host the home play.
I was waiting for the other part.
Win a home playoff game.
That's where I'm setting my expectations.
So last year, but we win the game.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Last year where we beat the Niners.
As long as they have Nick and Jalen, they will be contenders.
Like you're both contenders?
Of course.
You are.
You're talking about all the other positions.
And AJ.
Jalen.
Jalen.
They have Nick and Jalen.
And AJ.
Since long as they have Nick.
Stop with the AJ.
Since the moment he got here, all they've done is one.
They've been in the playoffs.
No matter what.
They've overachieved.
They had a lot of talent on the team too.
Of course.
But the head coach in the quarterback are more important than the talent.
They both need talent around them.
I agree.
Everyone needs talent around them.
I agree.
But the two most important cogs in the machine are the head coach in quarterback.
And they have shown they will compete.
All right.
Let me check.
Let me check.
Let me check what I said.
Joe, real quick.
Go to break.
They need supreme talent around them to be supreme.
I agree.
Say what you trying to say.
But I think every team needs it.
Well, everything doesn't need supreme talent.
Let me ask you a question.
Like you just said, as long as they have Nick and Jalen, they'll be served both contenders.
Yes.
If we all agree, if we get news right now that AJ has trained into the Patriots,
the Eagle's served ball odds will change.
Would you agree with that?
Yes.
Okay.
Whether it be a lot or a little...
Yeah, I would agree.
Okay.
Right now, they have the ninth best served ball odds.
If they drop a little bit, they'll fall behind the Niners.
The Patriots, especially if he goes there.
And the Texans.
If they train AJ, we're going to wake up.
They're going to have the 12th best served ball odds.
That's not really looked at as a served ball team.
But I feel like we do this every year at this event.
It's panicking that they haven't done anything.
The by the time we get to training camp, they'll be in the top six.
I don't know.
How are they going to jump in that high?
What are they getting?
Who knows?
They'll be something.
Okay.
Max Cross, you can shift it back.
Sure.
And this is Nia's busted.
Well, that would change the things.
All right.
Hugh, do you think we should subject Jason to Aaron and San Diego?
Go for it.
Aaron and San Diego up on WIP.
Hey, Aaron.
Good afternoon, Philadelphia.
Good afternoon, Aaron.
What?
What a pleasure.
We got Mr. Ike Reed.
We got Mr. Third Down Conversion himself, Jason Avant.
I mean, what a great day today is, huh?
What about you?
I and Elliot and everybody else.
We don't know those guys.
Actually, speaking of Hugh, are the rumors true?
Are you going to be on next season's Dancing with the Stars?
Not to my mouth.
Oh, that's my fault.
I just thought it was the way that you were dancing around that emotional, unavailable topic
with Ashlyn.
I thought maybe you were practicing or prepping for something that's upcoming season.
Well, no, I was asking, Ashlyn.
What is that actually me?
And because I didn't understand.
I didn't stand on this.
No, it was off air.
It was off air.
It was off air.
It was off air.
It was off air.
It was off air.
It was off air.
It was off air.
It was off air.
What is emotionally unavailable me?
Because I didn't understand what that was.
Emotionally unavailable me.
Were you called this recently?
So you need clarification?
Well, I was, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We all saw it right through.
Yeah.
You know, yeah.
That means you don't make your emotions available.
I don't know.
I don't understand.
I think you're not talking to him.
You don't express how you feel.
You know what?
I talk every day.
I talk every day.
What do you talk about?
This is different.
That means you don't want to commit.
That's different.
I'm upset I asked.
Guess what, Jason?
Anybody commit?
I don't want to commit.
That's what it is.
That's what it is.
It's a relationship thing.
That's it.
I'm just trying to figure out what emotionally unavailable me.
Well, now we have everyone in the Delaware Valley that can help you out.
Go ahead, Aaron.
If it's about 3D printing or a hell of diver, then you are absolutely.
Oh, I'm all in.
I'm all in.
Aaron, what have you got on the Eagles?
You know, even though you broke my heart, Julio, I actually agree with you today.
Is this about me not voting you the entire way in the year I don't want to get into it
What you do is an important thing I think the content that is added to a show should come into account
I think if your your boy is up against a
Juggernaut that you got you got it all right
Listen, I didn't want to do this on the air, but it was the afternoon show caller the year
So I voted as I listened to the afternoon show listen to them in the afternoon
Who's there who was the up against I forget but I think I think
To me you're you have been more of a a big-time midday call you're fine on the afternoon, but Corey's a better afternoon show caller
Yeah, like if it was the
That's why I voted for
You know what you you just miss something very important that I just say it
Spike don't you like you though like for real now me and Jack we we're okay with you because you
By your day spike so
I like Aaron he just ain't funny
I think his attempt at humor is funny. I don't think it's funny. You're like it's so bad. It's funny
Yeah, yeah, some people have but at the end of the day you're not like cowboy chip. What happened?
Did I pull a guy got a full of Kyle Quinn and get us back on topic? No, okay, as far as
Shut up, pal
As far as you know the AJ Brown and Jalen Hertz relationship, you know
It's just like that they say you know friends and family and business don't always mix and I'm sure that when
AJ Brown came on
He was
You know, he was he was all about Jalen Hertz and and you know Godfather of
Kids and and just a really close relationship, but the professional aspect they've grown a part of over the last couple of years
And Jalen they say that I got no problems with AJ, but it may be strictly on a professional level
Well, I think it's that's the root of it
It's not it's not it's not it's not messing on the field anymore
And that that's obvious Aaron. We preach the folk. I mean I we we can't pretend to know exactly how they are as people friends and all that
But it's it's not working here our Twitter question of course was sponsored by the P.I. Dental Center
Your smiles of first thing other see when they meet you learn about schedule your evaluation to P.I. Dental Center
Dot com. All right. We've had all our guests today give us a
Prediction for the rest of Eagles free agency something you think's gonna happen something you want to happen
Jason what he got for us something you think the Eagles could land or do during this free agency period
You know what?
I'm not expecting anything from Eagles for you see what oh so nothing or nothing so
So you think we're getting a quiet free agency. I think we are I think we're gonna get a quiet free
Okay, all right, if it is going to be something nominal a guy that's laden the roster that may not have a chance to make the team like last year
Last year is a lot of Ike give us a prediction
Man give us a name give us something. Yeah, I'm trying to figure out where gonna go
Ashland hit us with the best one so far they would have to sign it sign another veteran receiver now
I said that's AJ's replacement. That's not what she meant
But that that's what I would take it as if they signed a vet
I don't even know what vet receiver is still even available Tyree Keele Debo Samuel Christian Kurt Mooney y'all think Tyree played
Is actually I'm actually do have them sign in
Donnell Mooney and
One other receiver Juwan Jennings. Yeah, Juwan Jennings. Yep
I don't think Tyree Jennings would fit the bed. Yeah, Juwan Jennings and
He's a dog in a run games. Yeah, I think Tyree
Put Mooney in that slot or Jennings in that slot
Sorry, what you got y'all think Tyree playing this year. Yeah, Tyree is gonna. He'll play this year
That's be that's be gets you like you like a cat with nine lives. Yeah, how fast he runs. Yeah, Andy listen
I would not get in Tyree kill this he he went from a four two something to a four
Yeah, four you four three six. Yeah, okay, that damn slow. Yeah, he's there. Hey, that's slow. Hey Jay out Tyree Keele
No, no, he's not coming here. I think I think Jennings on or Mooney. I like Jennings
I think I received and played in the Shanahan offense. Yeah, I like that one. All right. I also think Dallas Goddard is coming back
It's it's surprised that he hadn't signed already so that kind of limbs that he may be coming back
Yeah, it could be and I'd like to have back all right, Hugh fun show today
McKay Beckton maybe we don't we're done. Well, we've got to hand it off to the afternoon show. We're coming back
Keep working. Yeah, keep jacket spike over there. Now we we are done
