HR2: Kevin thinks the Commanders will do this in the 2026 season | BOLD NFL predictions for 2026

2026 NFL hunches here on March 25th, 2026. Just was jotting some things down yesterday

that I just have hunches about. Number one is I think the chiefs are going to be back

in a big way. I think that assumes my homes is back early enough, but the hunger of

a championship pedigree team after a season like the one they had last year, I look for

the chiefs to be once again at the top of the AFC when we get to the end of the season

next year. I don't think the giants are going to be anywhere near as good as preseason

predictions will have them. I'm just not a Jackson Dart believer and I think they'll

figure that out at some point and then they'll be in the quarterback market again because

they do have a good roster around him. Very good roster and let's see what they do with

number five overall. The third hunch is I think as long as Aaron Rodgers is back in

Pittsburgh after the season he had and the additions that they made in free agency, you

could argue that Pittsburgh had one of the best free agency periods of any team in the league

adding Michael Pittman Jr. Rico Dowdled Dean and Briskler on defense. I think with Mike

McCarthy and a new sort of offensive approach if Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback if he's

the quarterback and Dowdell will replace a lot of what Gainwell did not to the extent that

Gainwell did it. Gainwell was really good for that team last year but I do like Dowdell

a ton and I think Pittsburgh is going to be an AFC North winner for a second straight

year and a first time playoff winner in about a decade. I love the Saints as a team that

could go from last to first and part of it is I do believe in Tyler Schuck. They have

good receivers certainly with Alave leading that group John Johnson's an underrated I think

tight end and then adding you know ETN or he wants to be called H&N and Kay Nellis what

a great ad defensively that is for the Saints. The Atlanta linebacker was awesome the last

two seasons. I like their coaching. I think at Kellan Moore does a good job offensively.

I think Brandon Staley is a really good defensive coordinator. That's a division that feels

up for grabs every year anyway. I like the Saints to go from last to first despite you know

Jacksonville losing ETN H&N. Devon Lloyd I think they were so good and so well coached

at the end of last year and I think if there's an opportunity for Trevor Lawrence to really

break out from this you know up and down career that he's had so far. I think it happens

next year. I think the Virginia Tech running back will emerge as a big time back in the league

and look for Chris Rodriguez to be a big part of what they do offensively. I like Jacksonville

as a team. I think everything about them at the end of last year said they know what they're doing

that that young GM you know did was not active in free agency so he could pull back a lot of

comp picks. They could be very active as you get to the trade deadline next year. Just a hunch

and it's not based on anything that they did. It's more just a belief that Bonix isn't

necessarily a franchise quarterback. Denver is the team that takes a big step back winning 14 games

the Denver Broncos last year. Hell of a season no doubt and look in free agency or during the

free agency period they traded for Waddle you know they kept JK Dobbins in Singleton. I think

that they'll they'll be a good defensive team again no doubt but I don't see the whole Bonix

thing. I don't and so Denver takes the big step back from the teams that had a ton of wins

14 back to like you know seven or eight wins something like that and then my last hunch

that I saved for this part of the show is our team turns it around you know why is it that when

you know other teams have major injuries to quarterbacks you know in recent years Lamar Jackson

Joe Burrow the same will be said about Patrick Mahomes and the chiefs this year. There's just

the assumption of well look they can have the biggest turnaround because they didn't have their

quarterback last year and that's why they won five games. I don't hear a lot of that. I don't hear

a lot of at this point and maybe it'll come. I hear more just the absolute most idiotic take in

my opinion that Jaden Daniels regressed that the team regressed to the mean whatever that means

in sports. I don't think that they're getting the normal sort of credit for well they didn't have

their quarterback the entire season you know 13 to the 17 games he only played in four complete

football games last year. So if he's back and healthy they're going to be much improved

improved. That seems so obvious to me. Our team if it's just relative to the rest of the league

average health they should be a much better team next year. We know what they were as a healthy

team in 2024. Why would you assume that if they're healthy in 2026 that it wouldn't be a lot

different than it was last year. I'm going to assume that now if he gets hurt again or if they have

all these injuries it's not going to happen but the chances of last year happening again this year

I mean that's all once in seven eight year kind of a season. They led the league in week one

starters playing the least amount the rest of the year. It doesn't seem to me that I mean every

time we talk about you know a Cincinnati team after a Joe Barrow injury season look out for the

Bengals a Lamar Jackson injury season look out for the Ravens I mean whenever we we get these

quarterbacks and you know Dak Prescott out look out for the Cowboys he's back and you're going to

get the same thing with my homes I understand that Jaden Daniels hasn't necessarily developed

the you know career that burrow and my homes and Lamar Jackson have I get that or even Dak Prescott

but that season that he had in 2024 the idea that anybody that paid attention could say that

Jaden Daniels regressed in performance without acknowledging that the number one reason the results

weren't the same is that he was hurt and did not play the majority of the season I can't help those

people I guess at this point so the health alone assuming that it's not last year makes Washington

a much better football team and then you talk about what they've added in free agency I mean

okay if you want to say well they missed out on Pierce they missed out on Hendrickson they missed out

on Lindermann you know they missed out on Jalen Phillips still they got a lot of good players at the

very least entering that those years in which sometimes you see players go from good to great

as they enter their prime years in the NFL but they filled a lot of defense of holes

with better players than they had last year will they be good enough to turn around the defense

and and amp up the defense from basically the worst in the NFL at the end of the season to somewhere

in the middle of the pack I think they could we don't know what Toronto Jones will be but things

are going to change they added better tackling they added better speed they got younger

away in Chenol and Robertson and chase on settled junior and then whatever they ended up adding

in the draft and then by the way just the players that were on the roster that maybe didn't fit

or didn't get the opportunities in the last you know Joe wit junior situation maybe you know

Jordan McGee is all that and we'll see it in the Durante Jones system maybe tray aim is really

is a number one corner he certainly played like a number not not in the lead corner but like you

know a decent number one corner in his rookie season that's a position you don't usually see

unless you're pat sur tan junior you know sauce gardener you usually don't see corners get it

near one he was getting it and he was on a terrible defense with no pass rush

Washington last hunch goes from five and twelve to ten plus wins in the post season

three oh one two three oh zero nine eighty three oh one two three oh zero nine eighty your

hunch for next year max do you have one

hmm do I want to predict an upswing or a down swing I mean I obviously I want to

predict an upswing um let's call it

twelve wins dead air is not good I know I'm I was thinking I was thinking twelve wins

twelve wins at least at twelve plus is what I'm going to put the uh the overrun for who for us

for our team I think we're going to be taking a big step for what yeah I think we're going to take

a big step forward I think Adam Peters has done a really good job at raising the floor I think

he's done a pretty good job at that the past couple off seasons now last year we saw what happened

uh when the floor uh got holes in it uh with you know injuries and stuff like that but I have

I'm confident that that will not be an issue two years in a row I think last year was an aberration

three oh one two three oh zero nine eighty your NFL hunch let's start with Jack in Springfield Jack

go ahead yeah Kevin so I I think did uh I agree with you about your my love um I think they're

I believe they will trade back but I want to bring up something about the salary cap uh

in the rookie contract it doesn't make sense to draft a running back in the top

seven if the best running back makes 15 million the best receiver makes 40 million wouldn't you

want to go for a position that has a lot better value to get on a rookie contract and just

never hear hear anybody talk about that what are your thoughts no it's it's an excellent point

I mean not to mention that and look there is certainly some history with wide receivers finding wide

receivers outside the top ten and outside the the first run as well but historically you've been

able to find excellent running backs after night one um and yeah to your to your point uh a

rookie deal for a wide receiver is more advantageous than a rookie contract for a running back

a hundred percent I mean when you think about rookie contracts in order it's quarterback one

and then it's edge two uh a and wide receiver two b and maybe left tackle two c i don't know

something like that yeah if we're gonna swing a miss on on a running back it you know and

it's only the values only ten million i'd rather do that with car and lt

yeah me too so what's your hunch for twenty twenty six my hunch is that we make the wild card that

Daniel's is back the the play actions really gonna help his game keep him out of harm's way a lot more

and i look forward to david blab you know becoming the next shot it's very hopefully uh that's that's

optimistic jack but uh my hunch is that's what's gonna happen thanks jack appreciate it let's go to

joanne springfield joe your NFL twenty twenty six hunch in marches what hey Kevin so you know i'm

gonna would say that washin will take a step forward which i believe they will but i would say

my hunch for the twenty twenty six season is that the Philadelphia Eagles could take a step back and

i understand that they got a full roster they got with uh and sarah is back but this is what is it

this is day one herds is fit their six different offensive coordinator they're gonna have in six

meters and considering that how the season ends for the Eagles i mean they rest of their stars

against us and we beat them but then they lost to a depleted or injury filled forty niners team

and they were to help the are helping a roster before forty niners got blown up by the seahawks so

just didn't end well and there's been so much is now is our herds and sarah on the same page

if they take a step back is sarah on the hot seat that's a big question what do you think Kevin

oh definitely he'd be on on the hot seat isn't his seat sort of warm going into the season anyway

i mean i haven't looked at any you know sort of odds of first coach to be fired let me just say

this so i do like Sean manion uh as their offensive coordinator i was actually a fan of him coming

out of Oregon state is a quarterback and he kind of stuck around because he's smart he's a big

dude um and i i i do kind of like the manion fit uh it'll be interesting to see what the Eagles

look like offensively but look we don't know a big part of the Eagles you know roster right now

and that is is a j brown a part of it or not you know because it could be a post June one trade

i don't know that they have to wait until post June one i'm sure they'd want to trade him before

the draft but do they end up having you know hollywood brown and davante smith as their two best

receivers and they don't have an a j brown that would be a big big miss for sure but yeah there's

something about the Eagles situation and i thought about them a lot you know as it relates to the

division um uh they they got vick fangio back they're they're going to be ridiculous defensively

again that's the thing that you you know if you look at philly as long as they stay healthy i

mean they added reek woolen to uh to to their secondary um they're going to be awesome

defensively again and then it's just whether or not they they're more creative uh you know offensively

because i i think they just they look like they lacked creativity it didn't look like they lacked

talent remember this too about their team last year they were injured along their offensive line

that was a difference maker for them versus the year before but you know i i thought about the

the philadelphia taking a big step back but they're so good defensively joe so good like i i i i

i'm stepping Denver back but i'm stepping them back from a 14 and three season and an a fc

championship game they were great defensively last year but they're not as talented as philadelphia

is defensively let's go to uh davan in rockville davan go ahead

we're so we're still getting long time to hear yeah i'm always listening to him there i'm good i'm

good so my hunt is that we would take a step forward but i i take the same approach as i took

and jaded down his rookie season right and the reason why i stayed there kevin is that i feel like

we're going to take a step forward i just don't know the number of minor games i step forward is

remember when we drafted jaded and dangers we was four we only won four games and i remember talking

to one of my my buddies and he's a cowboy fan and he's like what do you think what do you think

now i said listen there's been before we even drive jaded and dangers i said listen i don't know

what my team is going to be because this is the first year with dq coaching matters you know i'm saying

i said but if we drive jaded and dangers i say the only thing that i feel like i can guarantee

is that we win at least four games just because we got that caliber of talent i say so we win five

games in his rookie season that's an improvement i said but then i got a few of we do and all season

in his rookie season and then i said look the key thing is going to be this by us being new they

don't have no tape on jaded and dangers besides his college thank you i mean they are they got

tape on cliff king bird but not as a watch it's in command it and joe wit is a brand new i said

and then we want to be playing you know the the schedule game we were sorry so we're going to get

the strength of schedule i said so we have to jump on in the beginning and steal some games in

the beginning if we do that during watch watch what happened and that played out just like that

and look what happened we ended up in the end so so divine cut to the chase so what what is your

hunch that we're going to be that that washington's going to be massively improved see but that's

the thing though there's like i hear you i hear you when you say ten ten plus lands and

i hear you're a your college say twelve i want to say that but at the same time it's like it's a

hunch it's a hunch you don't have you don't have to you don't have to mentally you know beat yourself

up it's just a hunch it's an NFL hunt all right thanks to bond appreciate it all of you

does look like they're going to be some interesting rule changes on the kickoff and with respect

to the potential for replacement referees at the beginning of the season i want your whatever

your hunches you've been thinking about the NFL here and there i just wrote down seven of them

yesterday that i was thinking just off the top of my head the one by the way somebody just um

text me who was it Sean just said i hate your Denver uh hunch but i love your giant hunch

and i thought to myself that's my favorite one actually that's the one that i really feel super

strongly about i don't think the giants with jackson dart are gonna get there i don't see it with

him and not only that i don't see him being able to stay healthy enough to be that guy

for another segment that's not the segment today the segment is something that you have a gut feel

for heading into the next NFL season I said chiefs are back giants won't be any good if Aaron

Rogers returns to Pittsburgh they want to play off game for the first time in 10 years

the Saints are going from last to first in their division Jacksonville is going to be really good

despite the losses of ETN slash HN and Devon Lloyd Denver is going to take a big step back

and Washington is going to be a playoff team with 10 or more wins 301230980 Mark and Largo

and I got the bears taking a huge step back because because both of them we're going to have the

toughest schedule and the strengths of schedule in fact I think the bears are going to do something

rounder and their third rounder for next year and because they want to let me get hold on for

already got to deal on the board what are you going to do to sweeten it up that's why they're

going to offer a first and third next year okay so this is the reason you're spelling all this

out is because this is what has led you to believe this big prediction of a massive trade that

Chicago is going to take a big step back by the way who does Chicago take with number seven overall

they're going to have a first place scheduled this year yeah the last two years the bears and the

patients have had two fourth place scheduled now they're going to have a first place scheduled and

that's where I think they're going to I mean they're going to see the roots of all evil they're

going to get hit both of them are going to get hit really really hard and I agree with you

on the Broncos the Broncos were the Patriots of were the Chiefs of 24 they won a lot of one score

game a lot of one score games I guarantee you ten of those game of those 14 wins with one score games

so I can see them winning eight or nine games this year because they're not going to have the one

score luck that they had last year right just so you know the the compensation that you got from

Instagram is way too much based on the Jimmy Johnson or the pro football reference trade charts

in terms of point value it's like it's like three times as much as as you could get for for eighteen

spots but that's okay we always do we always do mark you know I enjoy thanks Rick is on hold Rick

hunch is that the the Dallas Cowboys are going to win the division I think they I think they

I think they're going to trade for Max Crosby I don't know if you saw you do you do the trade

did you read that story there there's been a couple of stories now on how the whole

thing went down with Crosby it does really kind of speak to Baltimore getting cold feet and Dallas

you know immediately kind of did not jump back into it so why do you think they will trade for Max

Crosby well I think I think he's I think he's the offer will diminish somewhat they they were

sure on the ESPN that the offers that Dallas made to sort of to the Raiders and one was a the

twelfth pick in the draft it was in a second round pick so that was their last offer I think

was the first and second they wouldn't go to two number ones right yeah but yeah I think the

two number ones probably off the board now but I can see them if they if they really want to do

what what they need to do they would take that swing so I still say they're going to I think

even when it was like to fill it up because I think it's just too much change it's happening

in Philly I think they're going to fall back maybe two or three games and with us yeah we have

no other way but but but to go up but I got some I just want to run this by you Kevin if it's

number seven if at number seven we have Jeremiah love carnail tape and it was somebody else I

was thinking about and Caleb down which one would you take well be between Tate and downs honestly I

really feel good about carnail tape I would take tape I just think it's too high for love

personally but I I think he's going to be a really good player and the bottom line is you know

if they think he's going to be a really good player and he's the best player on their board at that

point I'm not going to be angry if they take him I would be upset if they took him if David Bailey

were still on the board but I don't think he's going to be on the board yeah appreciate it let's

get all this coordinated they struggle if you're seeing when they went to the Super Bowl not this

passive world the one before that they struggle when they lost the time in the playoffs and I think

I think the Giants and the Commanders are going to take a step forward especially our team I think

I think we're going to win like 10 of 12 games and I think we're going to make the playoffs man

and don't be surprised man it's my prediction Kevin I think we're going to Super Bowl man

go ahead what's your number one NFL hunch for next year go ahead hi hi Kevin it's nice speaking

to you again I spoke to you couple of years last year and the year before how are you all about

good to hear from you hoping to get to the Super Bowl but we didn't get there but I think this

year I agree with the guy I just spoke you just spoke to I think this year is a good year for us to

get there and my my feeding is you spoke a lot about Jeremiah love well this morning I went to

YouTube and I watched him this guy's great I think so and I think he's the Jordan Daniels

of running backs available this year can you imagine Daniels and and love together you're

going to see touchdowns and I think we might make it you know I'm getting I'm getting old I

am already old I'm 90 years old Kevin so Oscar can I ask you may I ask you a question are

where are you from I originally I'm from South Africa yeah that's what I thought yeah that is

such a distinct accent and it's such a great accent to listen to um yeah well Oscar first of all

you sound healthy which is great and let's get it done for you in 2026 let's get it done for all of

us that would be great correct for everybody I really hope sir thank you Oscar appreciate it thank

you let's go to a being a being your number one 2026 NFL hunch is hey Kevin I've got this

as being a year Eagles miss a playoff I think and my big thing is I think the Eagles are moving on

from feeling hurts after this year you know I don't think this this new coordinator they're bringing

in I think it's kind of a last-age attempt I don't think Hertz really fits a heavy play action

under center type of offense he's not you know this quick release decisive throw or he's not

somebody who you know let's you rip over the middle or layers throws you know overline backers

heads I just don't think it's a state and on top of that they're losing AJ Brown so I think

they're offense I feel like they are I think AJ Brown is set on leaving I think he's I think

he's also done with Hertz and you had that um you had some reports towards the end of last season

Diana Rossini was reporting you know they were all getting frustrated with Hertz and his limitations

they needed in the step of last year uh to the running game took a step back and like he just

totally failed like how do you fail having AJ Brown to vauntie Smith you know and all that skill

position talent and you all the same you know you when I've had this conversation before Lee don't

don't uh don't hang up on a beam um we've had this conversation before and you might be right okay

you might be right my my big problem with the idea that Hertz has limitations is that when they've

needed him in some of the biggest games that the Eagles have played going back to 2023 2022

where they've needed him to sit in the pocket and deliver throws on time to be decisive to throw

with anticipation to throw into tight windows he's actually done it and part of me Avine in watching

the Eagles the last couple of years is I do think that he's incredibly conservative by nature I

also think the the approach Philadelphia's had is we're so GD good on defense we've got a great

running back and Cereani is hell bent on winning the turnover battle what does he talk about

every single year every single week turnover margin which we all know is important he lives by it

we're not going to beat ourselves and part of me wonders if that's what Hertz has dealt with because

when they've asked him to turn it on you know whether it be in our game in the championship

game or that Rams playoff game in the snow or the you know the two super bowls against Kansas City

you know he's done it so he can do that that's my biggest problem when it comes to Hertz

is there is some history of him doing the things that you say he's limited in anyway right

I'll just say you know in in 2024 they they brought in Kellan Moore to try to turn him into more of

a dropback passer and they ditched that after five weeks his his passing volume was high but you

was like leading the league and turnover worthy right and so then from the rest of their super bowl

season they left him to like around 20 pass attempts for game largely safe throws and they finished

like 29th and passing arts like I don't think that's their plan with how much they have invested

in you know brown and Smith to you know win ugly like that and be so unproductive passing so it's

just a few I have I don't think that I've just the reports that the you know players and staff

are getting set up with his limitations and just the way things are trending that's how I just how

I mean it wasn't necessarily with limitations that was those weren't the reports the reports were

with him being super conservative with him not letting it loose right that that's specifically

where the frustration was with you know some of those reports take him for what they're worth and

by the way watching the Eagles and we get to watch a lot of the Eagles including against our team twice

I agree with some of that but again there have been moments you know the the game this year at the

end of the season it was a Monday night game I think against the chargers yeah remember at the end

when when they needed him to deliver on a couple of four downs like when I watch those plays from

Jalen Hertz I'm like well he can do it like he can do it but he chooses not to I think it may be

the head coach more than anything else by the way I am a believer in Sean Manion let's see what

happens with him coming out of you know kind of the Kevin O'Connell is Sean McVey you know arena let's

see what he looks like as that if that's the way they go but go ahead and you're number one

hunch is Philadelphia is taking a big step back right right and Kevin can I just say quickly you

know you were just talking about you know people seem down on us they're not taking the account

that you know Daniels has hurt and what I've been seeing is you know I think people are down on

us too but it's not so much about the defense I think people are just looking at you know the

offensive depth chart and they're saying this team currently has this has some of the worst

skill position talent it's 31 year old Terry McVorne and a bunch of question marks so big like

people just look at these depth the depth chart and they're like where is Jalen Daniels getting

help from you know I think if they if they had like IU Chris big draft somebody you know the hype

may go up and I think right out people are just looking at the depth chart and like they're like

this is some of the worst skill position talent that's fair but you have noticed right that there's

much more national discussion about Jaden Daniels regression year then the reason that he regressed

was he didn't play basically and every other quarterback that's had a lot of success and Jaden

going to have a step back season that's why if he does play and if they are healthier than they

well good morning my hunch is what I've had in prior seasons and that is that Washington fans

are going to be disappointed the other day we did records with eight eight and one and not in

the playoffs that would qualify as a disappointment not that it's a bad record or bad team but

that would be a disappointment correct yeah I'm interested when we do these segments like I my

idea is is more of an NFL segment and I would say max even Robert in anapolis who's a Ravens fan

not even a fan of our team it's like 80% of it ends up being our team driven so what's your hunch

my my hunch is they're going to be and have a better season than they had last season but they're

not going to be as successful as many of the fans think they are going to be because they've added

new players and new coaches let me say that our our the NFL right now has Washington with an

over under win total most most sites the consensus here is seven and a half so nobody outside of

this town is expecting that much well that was my next question with all this optimism you're you've

got your hand a finger on the pulse of the gambling world sports gambling world have you invested

money and it seems like the over seven and a half is a is a money maker it's it's very pricey

right now max and I were talking about that earlier it's like minus one twenty five minus up to

minus one forty to play the over so I'm going to wait on that for a bit because that is pretty

expensive meaning they're the most expensive seven and a half over play that there is in the

NFL meaning Robert they're the closest to moving to like eight and a half as an over under for

next year among seven and a half to this one yeah let me ask you this one if I made what why

are the Ravens what I think they're the highest at eleven and a half I don't believe that

necessarily where's that optimism on the Ravens the Ravens total they're at eleven and a half right

now and that's the highest I don't see even the even the Rams I'm looking at just a consensus

blend and the Rams have some eleven and a halves out there but they're they're they're more

ten and a halves interesting now their under is minus one forty so they're pretty close to ten and
