the team via his sub-stack. Definitely worth subscribing to. He also has a podcast by the same name,
Last Man Standing. You've got another mock draft out, one in which actually includes a trade,
Washington trading back. We'll get to that, but I saw yesterday you tweeted out two things.
Number one, just real quickly, for those that haven't followed it, Washington did add another
player via free agency. A DB, a corner from the Rams. Tell everybody about a Kelo Witherspoon.
Yeah, I mean, this is a classic depth timing. It's the rare guy that actually added it.
This offseason is over 30, but he's 31. They needed depth. They needed some size. He's 62. This
will be his 10th year. This is not a guy that I would peg as a potential starter, but at a minimum,
he gives you a rotation corner back. It's like one of the few things that didn't have going
into the draft. It's an easy signing, not a biggie, but it's the kind of thing
you got to pay for over at some point. So we've talked a lot about center ever since Tyler
Biotis was let go, ended up signing with the chargers. Yesterday, Lloyd Kushenberry, the Titan
Center from the last few years, was signed by the Bills tool one year deal. Now he did fail a
physical in late February, right around the time that Tyler Biotis was let go. Do you think
our team had interest in Kushenberry? Well, and Craig, we are wrong. Didn't the Bills
did a re-sign there starting center recently in the government? Yes, he did. So he would have been
one of the big ones in free agency. Yeah, right. So Kushenberry signing there suggests to me that
he's not ready to play, right? Because why would he go to be a backup center? Even here, even if
he said, I like ready was the starter. It's not a guy you just paid millions of dollars to
the way he did him. So I'm guessing he's just not ready. And therefore the Bills are like,
hey, we'll bring in and, you know, we have and we'll see where we are. That's my guess of what.
So, you know, do you still find it a little bit odd out of everything that's happened this
off season? I'd put releasing Tyler Biotis at the top of the list of what the hell happened.
Why did they do this? Yeah, I mean, you know, it is odd because we didn't
necessarily see it coming and they haven't done anything definitively about it. I mean, yes,
they kept all the gritty. Yes, they made a play for Tyrone and Mom and then they
didn't do anything. I mean, if I'm them, you know, not being a town of evaluate, but if I'm them,
you know, once the first couple of centers went off the board, this is a year where in the draft
it's considered to be pretty solid. Effort centers in the ground like three to five. So basically,
you tell the people who were available, hey, look, here's the deal. We're willing to pay you this.
If you want to take it cool, it's not we're going to wait for the draft and see where we're at. So,
I don't think it's that crazy. It's just, you know, I get it. It feels slightly unsettling because
the deal, because it's the unknown. But, you know, I think they're still in relatively good shape.
You didn't grasp somebody with that, you know, either that third or fifth round pick or,
you know, there are still some guys out there that, you know, you could use this needed.
I'll pose the question to you that I posed in the first hour of the show today and I did it because
Victor for, I don't know if that's how you pronounce his name from the athletic and his mocked
draft. I'm sorry. Yeah, you have a big paper. Yeah, I'm going to take her. Okay. He did a mock draft
yesterday and this was a new one for me anyway. At seven, Washington selects. Francis,
Maui Noah, tackle Miami. I just thought, can you imagine a month from last night if guys like
Tate and Delane and Bain are on the board, Downs are on the board, and that's who he still had on
the board. And Washington takes a tackle. Now, this guy might end up being a guard in the NFL. He's
got shorter arms, but I mean, obviously you're not taking a quarterback and there's not a quarterback
worthy of going at number seven, but there are plenty of lineman that could easily be Ben the
best player on the board. And what if they stick to their board and draft their board and select an
offensive lineman, what do you think the reaction to that would be? Well, I think there's zero percent
chance, especially the way it was. I saw the mock draft. I know, Vic. I saw the mock draft.
He phrased it as being a right tackle. And obviously they just drafted Connolly. At least
to be said, we're playing the guard. At least when I died, I got up. Okay. But to be fair to him,
I still don't understand it because I had the same reaction you did. I'm like, what on earth is this?
And then I went back and read the intro. He was doing it based on like the gambling odds because
he used to be there. I didn't read the premise. I just saw
the mock draft. But even still, it still doesn't make any sense. If you're telling me he's the seventh
that highest odds of being drafted or something, okay, but there's no chance there's any list that
says the best odds to be drafted by Washington is this guy. He couldn't even crack the top five.
I wouldn't think so. Yeah, I don't understand the premise. If you tell me they trade down out of seven,
right? And then, you know, maybe all bets are off. You know, I could feel the award where they say,
hey, we think the best guy out there is an offensive lineman. We can draft them, put him in guard,
and you know, we'll see where tonsil that in a couple of years kind of deal. But other than that,
I would find that hard to believe. That's right. So I want to make sure I'm understanding you.
You find it hard to believe that an offensive lineman would be the highest rated player on their
board at seven. No, they would take one. What if the player is by far in a way the highest rated
player on their board? I mean, I don't know what they trade back. I don't know what their grade
system is exactly, but so much better. I mean, the way I was looking at it is best position,
best player available at a position of need. Do they need an offensive? I mean, if tonsil was on
like the last year of his deal, that might be one thing, but he's going to be here in theory for
three more years. Conor, they just drafted. So it doesn't make any sense you're drafting it.
You're basically doing what they grew into adulthood, drafting a guard at seven. Well,
well, Scott McClellan didn't draft a guard. He thought he was drafting a right tap. Yeah.
Yeah, exactly. I mean, look, I'm all for the offensive lineman. Don't get me wrong. But,
you know, between Chris Paul, Brandon Coleman, and let's just say, even Nick,
Andrew Wiley, they should have enough there at left guard to be good and potentially really good
if Coleman or Paul progress. So this doesn't make any sense to me. Now, all of a sudden,
what are you going to do? Those guys are both going to be on the bench. That just doesn't make any
sense to me. It doesn't make any sense. But here's what does make sense. They have right now
that we know of one player that we would put in the A plus category, the quarterback.
And if they had a player that they all said, this dude's going to be a Hall of Fame guard.
And it's not even close. Look, I'd be shocked. I'd be stunned. But I also wouldn't kill him for it
if that was the way they felt about the player because I don't know that they have a Hall of Fame
other than Tuncel, potentially Hall of Fame talent on their offensive line. All right,
let's go to what you did with your latest mock draft because you put this out after we talked
on Monday, mock draft 6.0 from a two time mock draft champion. So this would be very interesting to
I think a lot of people tell everybody what you did. Well, similar to the last one, let's clarify
here something. The premise of the leading was about trade down scenarios because that's obviously
what we talk about all the time. You know, I've talked about that as well. So I felt like if I'm
going to come up with these scenarios, I should at least include one of them in the Washington D.O.
If I was holding padded seven, I would go, Jeremiah Love in this one I had him going up earlier,
so he wasn't there. The same thing with sunny style that those would be the two guys that they
are there. I think I'm just going to sit. Everything else that I think is up for grabs.
So yeah, I mean, I threw out a bunch of different scenarios in this one. It was about the dolphins,
trading up from 11 and long story short, Washington met an extra third round pick at a third or
fourth out of it. So you got an extra day two selection. You've got an extra third rounder
that they pick up from having four spots back. Oh, right. Okay. So, you know, that,
you know, it's not it's not around two pick, but you know, it's a top 100 pick. And, you know,
if they're, to me, if you look at their board, you know, I mean, that's as I would guess,
I think at 11, you would still get somebody that they would feel that they didn't go down a tier on.
Maybe it's Mansour Delane. Maybe it's Kale Downs. You know, it all depends on obviously what
what happens in front of them. Do you see the couple off in the line? I'm going to go off the board
and they should be fine. So to me, that would, you know, would make some sense. Again, if you
stay in the same level of tier of the player and, you know, from a position, we just talked about
the offensive line as probably something I would say they don't need, but pretty much there's almost
anybody that they would, that they possibly be looking at is a reasonable position of me. Like,
it's not like, you know, a core defensive tackle in there. Quarterback and in tackles, we feel okay
about. Right, right. So, yeah, so basically anything else, the receivers, cornerback, safety,
even the pass rusher, I think all of that could be in place. So, yeah, to me, that would be
make some sense. And the question I did after that, if you drop down below, say 11, you know,
now you're probably going to be getting, I simply, at the next tier down, and you cool with that,
is that worth it for the pick, especially on defense, I think they still need, I mean, maybe it's
away, but I still would like them to get a guy on defense of the other team really has to,
you know, pay attention to it all times, maybe it's a lead, but I think one of these young kids
could be there as well. And then, by the way, your trade back, you've got them selecting
Carnell Tate, wide receiver, Ohio State. Was there a reaction positive negative benign to
Tate not running 40 at his pro day the other day? It doesn't seem like it. I had one of the Ohio State
beat writers on my podcast the other day, and he was talking about, you know, that this didn't
happen, and, you know, what the view is, and he said that, you know, and talking to the people
there at the pro day was kind of like, look, we have all the, you know, next-gen stats data that
shows how many half-baths I got running in the game, you know, if you get north of 20 miles an hour
and what have you, and isn't that like, kind of matters more than the 40-yard death, which is not
exactly something that happens, you know, it's just a one-off situation. So, yeah, you know,
I think if teams were saying, hey, we need to see more problem, he runs, but I'm guessing they
didn't care enough for him to feel like he had to go do it. So, you know, I think the kale
down the one is a little more interesting, I mean, at this point, he didn't run again, he didn't
run to the combine either. You know, I don't buy that these, the rumors about his knees seem to be
in a potentially a notable knee, he seems to be not even just going to be overstated, but just
completely false of all levels. That said, to not run 40 twice is, you know, kind of interesting
that he wouldn't do that. Yeah, I mean, especially when there is that, you know,
potential, and he spoke to it right and said to have no idea where this sort of, you know,
emanated from, in terms of the potential injury. Yeah, and he did do with me drills,
what he was doing, I mean, it was no like, from what I gathered, there was no sign of him,
any kind of lamp or him being slow and doing all the other defensive back kind of drills,
he just didn't do the 40. Right. We're talking to Ben standing, of course. You know, we're in
that period now where the top 30 visits are happening. And we usually get a list of the players
that they are choosing to bring in on a top 30 visit. The most famous top 30 visit, of course,
is when they had Jayden and a few other players and they went to top golf and that became quite
the story there for a few days. But anything interesting about the players that they've brought in,
do you have a quick list of who they brought in so far? As far as I know, they haven't brought
in anybody. They're doing the, you know, probably doing something you can do another group adding
down the line here. So as far as I know, they haven't brought anybody in. They've done like a
private workout with, at least I know McKayla, I'm in the USC receiver and probably others.
But, you know, look, you know, like I reported that, you know, sunny styles is it going to come in
for a visit, you know, Denzel Boston, a later round for a surround pick. Basically anybody who's
going to be in the top 10, I would be stunned outside of the quarterback or something. I'd be
stunned if they weren't showing up to their 30 visit and then beyond that, you know, what positions
like receiver, you know, edge cornerback, these would be things you would think, okay, well,
that's probably a position you're going to take later on. So, yeah, I mean,
I think to this one, it's, it's, well, I get it. We all get worked up to a degree and I'm
reporting it, but I don't think it's going to be a huge deal there. It'd be a bigger deal if
somebody's guys don't show up, you know, if Colonel Tader kale becomes, don't go, if that's weird,
what's up with that? Yeah, I'm looking, Denzel Boston's a receiver at a Washington that I've
talked about a lot going back to when they played Maryland. I'm like, this guy really does look
the part. He's a big dude, 64 really good hands. We're receiving projected mid to late first round.
Yeah, sort of like 20 to 40. Yeah. Yeah, the top 30 visits, I think people are kind of looking
for clues like who they brought in before and what did it, you know, did it match up to who they
took or was it more, you know, of a head fake. By the way, it's quite the logistical challenge.
I would imagine for these players that are being asked by, you know, double digit teams to come
to their top 30, you know, interviews slash workouts. I mean, are there any rules around it with
respect to players? I mean, I think it just travels as they need to or want to, you know, yeah,
though, it is sort of the, like at least for the football players, it's mostly just show up to talk
at that point, like it's not really like not typically I don't be doing like workouts or anything,
or like when the bat for the basketball, it's the same amount of crazy travel except everywhere
you go, they want you to work out and it puts you through a pretty rigorous workout. So that's
got to be crazy. But yeah, like I said, I mean, you know, all these guys will be coming in and,
you know, you would imagine and, you know, yeah, it's always fun to look for clues and try to figure
out compared to other years, you know, what happens. But, you know, for them, look, they've also met with
these guys at the combine, some of them at the senior bowl or on campus at their pro days, whatever.
So, you know, this is, you know, it's all just part of the puzzle, but it's not necessarily the end result.
You wrote something or an answering an email, I think you said it, but is it possible that they're
viewing after Terry McClore and Chigacon, quote, as kind of their number two pass receiver?
Yeah, I mean, I do wonder, you know, if you look here, okay, we all would say they probably are not
settled at that out second outside receiver with Terry McClore. And I'm sure they would agree as
well, and that's why we're considering they take a receiver at seven. But, you know, I think there's
a world where they think, hey, Chigacon, quote, is going to be something we didn't have last year in
athletic presence over the middle. We know about the yak that he can provide. If he can do that,
and we have now the Army Brown speed to use when we need to, we have, you know, trailer birds that
jump off of athleticism and bench represents the solid guy. Like, it's not that those guys,
they're all fine players, you just have to know how to use them and use them in a role. So,
if anything, Chigacon, quote, could be sort of, but, you know, give them that second target,
that they just really didn't have last year beyond sort of the first, you know, five yards,
then, you know, that could be a way to look at it. I also wonder if, you know, we're all kind of
having to sort of be wondering, you know, what's up with Ben Senate now? How did this play out?
You know, the league last year was morphing more towards 12 and 13 personnel often. And if you
don't have, if you don't end up with that obvious second receiver, you know, maybe that's the way
to go. Senate is nothing if not athletic. Chigacon is as well. So, you know, if it's a matchup deal,
you know, force the other team to, you know, play you with more, you know, more, but four,
four, three kind of looks and then take your tight end with speed and go put them on linebacker
outside. So, you know, there are still other ways they could go that doesn't have to just be
big go out and get colonel Tater, Richard Jennings or something like that, or Dwight Jennings,
sorry, but yeah, I was still saying, why do you recruit two to me is the big question.
Before I let you go, anything on your mind that we haven't talked about?
No, I just, I think the giant five or a question, but sometimes I know you're itching
to talk about something and sometimes it has nothing to do with the team, which is fine.
Yeah, no, I'll just say with team. I mean, I just think the giant's at five to me are such a
fascinating take. I feel like they could take a four different players and I would each one,
I could justify for them. And obviously it matters because of, you know, they're watching
it's picking two slots later. And, you know, you could tell me it's sunny styles because based
on John Harbaugh's history, he's more likely to, you know, add somebody like in the middle there
than, like, say, a running back at five. They take the second receivers early, but I don't know,
colonel Tate looks like he's got a high floor, but I don't know where the ceiling is,
Caleb Downs. And, you know, again, I think he could be a leader for that bat seven.
Anyway, my point is, until we sort of sort out where the giants are, it's sort of hard for me to
say what's going to happen here. As long as Jeremiah Love gets by the Titans, then it seems pretty
interesting because I don't know why the giants would take him other than the fact I get it is
really good, but I don't know. I just don't seem like that makes sense for them. And this is also
where the money part comes in. The fifth pick is going to cost X amount for Jeremiah Love. That
means he's probably like a top 10 high paid running back day one. Yeah. Is that makes sense for
you versus, you know, colonel Tate plays a position where I think it's like 22 different players
make north of 20 million. And then again, you know, styles might be the best player in this class,
but again, all fall linebacker and they sign in to remain Edmonds. So I just think the
giants, to me, is kind of wore my head that right now trying to figure out what makes sense there,
and whatever that nut is cracked, they'll help solve, you know, what the options are realistically
the other day, I just, I did a segment, which I'll call is just give me your number one NFL
2026 hunch. It doesn't have to have to do with with our team at all. And one of mine was, I just
don't buy the giants. And what's odd about that is I've always felt in recent years that their
roster was underrated. And I, and I do think it's a good roster. I just don't see it with Jackson
Dart, not to mention that he basically is in the blue tent every other week that he plays.
And I think there's going to be a lot of hype about the giants going into the season.
Do you have a hunch just an early March late March hunch about the 2026 NFL season?
No, I, and the giants want to fast because I do agree that you're going to be, especially if they
take love, I think the hype is going to be significant. And it's potentially worthy, but I'm
with you. The quarterback is, I'm not sold on him. I don't know. Chiefs back in the Super Bowl.
That was my number one. Chiefs are going to be the one seed in the AFC. That was my number one.
Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I mean, I don't, yeah, just because you see my homes throwing a couple pass,
it doesn't mean he's ready to play week one, but you know, it's got obviously got months to go.
And, you know, what is the really time zone of it? Say, never underestimate the heart of the
champions. Yeah. I just, I just don't imagine the Chiefs are going to have another year like they
did. And, you know, getting Kenneth Walker helps. We'll see what they do. They've got, you know,
two first round picks. I mean, you know, they can easily change the, change the look of that
offense. And if my home is ready, be back at the top. And a lot of people, I'm sure,
a door of the season thinking, wow, now come on, which is dead. Well, we'll see. Yeah.
Thanks for doing this. Appreciate it. I will talk to you, perhaps before Monday. We'll see. Thanks.

end of the show, right? For us, 1230s, something like that. A 28-second video announcing the arrival
of the team's new uniforms on tax day, April 15th. I'm telling you, I've said this so many times
for those of you, and I don't know how many of you there are, but there are some of you,
because I hear from you a lot. So do a lot of us, that actually think the names not a big deal.
You're high. I mean, legitimately high or just plain, ignorant or stupid.
Two and a half million views of this 28-second video. Their average number of views over the last
month is about 22,000 views of anything they've tweeted out, including new players that have signed.
So anyway, in this video, at about the 18th second mark, the uniforms are being wheeled in
into the building in front of pictures of the hogs from the 80s and 90s of Darrell Greene in,
the championship era uniforms, with, by the way, the championship 1972 through 2020
Blacky-Wetzel logoed helmet. There's Art Monk in a specific video. I'm going to tell you what I've
kind of learned a little bit about what is coming on April 15th. But many of you, really,
because I retweeted this video, really got after the team for including those photos with
the Blacky-Wetzel, you know, 50-year logo, as a part of the video. Because if they don't deliver
the Blacky-Wetzel logoed helmet, you're going to be really upset. You kind of think this was a tease.
And that was a general overall message from, from many of you, is that this is just a tease.
And nothing will do unless it's the redskins. Nothing will do unless they bring the old logo back.
So I get it. I don't know how you show a video and you're teasing on the new uniforms.
I guess they could have shown that the uniforms that they wore against Seattle, Denver, and Kansas City,
with that particular helmet. Maybe that would have been less of a tease. Maybe.
So the new uniforms are coming. Look, I think certainly what I had for you a year and a half ago,
all the way back in 2024, October, when we did a big segment on the name and the next day I came
in and told you, look, the name, who knows, probably iffy. But what I did learn back then was,
they're going to do something about the uniforms. They're going to go back to a championship
era uniform that makes it look like our old team. And that came in the form last year of three games
of wearing the alt uniforms, the championship era uniforms against Seattle, Denver,
in Sunday night games, and then against the Cowboys on Christmas Day with the Cowboys wearing
their blues. And they did it right because they wore their white jerseys at home. During the Gibbs
championship era, we wore white at home. Now, that's what is coming back in a permanent sense.
You know, their, their indications, and I think most of you probably know this by now,
that really what it is is going to be what we saw alt style last year as the permanent
in 2026 and moving forward. Love that. And by the way, you'll have a burgundy top jersey as well.
Now, will they wear white at home? Will they wear dark at home? I actually asked that question
of somebody who was in the know and they said, actually, I'm not even sure. But I would hope that
they'd wear the white at home where the burgundy on the road when the team you're playing is
wearing white at home. But in this day and age, we see teams all the time where both white and dark
at home during the course of a season. There's nothing traditional and nothing consistent
anymore. Right, Max? I'm not a uniform guy, but I watch a lot of football. And one week the jets
might be wearing green at home. And the next week they might be wearing white at home. And then
the next time they're at home, it'll be their alt uniform, their black uniform. Same thing with
the Eagles. Now, the cowboys have been pretty consistent with wearing white at home. You know,
that's been a pretty consistent thing for them. Is there another team that's been consistent
wearing either dark at home or white at home in recent years? Because that's the way it used to be.
I mean, if you want to go back to like the 70s and 80s, all right, basically the cowboys were the
first team to wear white at home. They actually had to get a, I think the league to approve it because
you know, when the NFL first started to become a thing, you were dark at home, white on the road.
And the cowboys wanted to be different because that's just who they are and they wanted to wear
white at home. They got somehow, you know, given permission to do that. Then it was teams like the
cults who were white at home. And then more and more teams would do it. And occasionally teams
like the giants or the Eagles in our division would wear white at home only when the cowboys
came to town because they wanted the cowboys to wear their blues, which were really unusual.
There was a period of time where when you saw the cowboys in their road blues, it was so
unusual to see it because they were white at home. And most teams were dark at home.
Therefore the cowboys also wore their white jerseys on the road. This is getting into geeky
historical uniform stuff. And I'm not the expert. I should have brought Zebon for this particular
segment. But I do remember what it used to be. And then Gibbs came here when the redskins
were always always a dark jersey at home team. And he changed that in 1981. And by the way,
the first game, they rolled it out against the cowboys. And it was the first time ever.
September of 81 gives his first game as a head coach. First time ever, the cowboys played
in our case stadium in their blues. Really looked cool actually. And then throughout the Gibbs era,
they played in their blues. And then once we got postgibs and we got into Richie, he wore white,
but then norv were white. But then Marty wore dark at home. He brought dark back to home. And then
Bruce Allen, when Mike Shanahan got here, brought his dad's gold pants back. And then since it's,
well, we know it's happened since 2222, the client show that has been their most recent
uniform. And they've worn a lot of different things at home. But am I right for the most part
that maybe other than Dallas Max, who consistently wear, they wear white at home? Does anybody else
consistently do it one way versus another? Maybe the Raiders, the Raiders don't wear white at home,
ever right? Even in Vegas. The Raiders haven't done that. And I think since like the 60s or 70s,
at least according to what I've been searching, but what I have found is a couple teams like Florida,
like Florida teams like the boxer or the dolphins will sometimes wear white at home just to combat,
you know, the Florida sun. But other than that, those, those are the kind of the only ones who
consistently have worn white at home in recent terms of history. Okay. But, but others will
occasionally wear white at home. Okay. Yes. I mean, the giants occasionally wear white at home.
I'm thinking about it now, the packers never wear white at home, right? Or do they?
Have they, have they done that maybe once or twice in recent years? Yeah, because they have the
old white uniforms too that they've worn with the white. The Steelers don't. The Steelers never
wear white at home. Do they? Not to my recollection. No. Yeah. All right. Enough of that. With respect to
our teams coming April 15th, new uniforms. So they're going to be the alts from last year are
going to be the permanent. I don't know if they'll wear white predominantly at home or we'll see
because we didn't see it last year because it was white each of the three times. But we'll see the
burgundy top unveiled and it'll just go back to the championship area uniforms. It'll look like that.
Look, I'm not getting into the stripes and where they are and all those things, but it's going to
look like our team like it did in the three games this year. Now, as it relates to the helmet,
from what I've been told, we're not getting the Blacky Wetzel logo back on the helmet. That is
a source of frustration for me just as it is for many of you because never, ever was that a
source of controversy. Just never was. Somebody's got to do a better job with the league and the
league sponsors of saying, hey, this has never been a source of controversy. In fact,
this has been a source of pride for Native Americans, this particular logo developed by Walter
Blacky Wetzel back in 1972 for George Allen and his teams. But it's going to be from what I've
been told, and I think you guys are much more on top of this than I am. Max, you are to this
W with potentially some spear element to the W. That may be a part of the new helmet. Maybe it's
just the W, but maybe there's some sort of spear element to the W. Have we seen a W logo with a spear?
Haven't we seen that? Nothing official, but like we've seen people come up with their own. I mean,
Dan Quinn had the one with the feather, but that's not a spear. I think that somehow the spear
could be, look, I don't think that the old logo is dead for it like the future, not immediate.
But somebody at some point is going to be able to convince the league sponsors, the top 10 guys,
the Amazon's, the Foxes, the Coca-Cola's, the Bank of America's, etc. Whatever the top 10 are,
those are three or four of them. To say, there's nothing wrong with the logo. This is not offensive
to anybody. Never has been, never will be. Now, how will it fit with the team name? That's another
conversation altogether from a branding standpoint. Yeah, so look, there will be all uniforms.
I bet you they continue to keep, I don't know this, but I would bet you they keep the black
as an alt uniform. I think we can all agree, maybe not all agree, but I bet you the majority of us
would agree that what they've worn in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 should never be an alt uniform.
There should never be a throwback to these past four seasons in terms of what they've worn.
But look, it's not everything. They know that. We know that. But I don't think the old name's ever
coming back. We've talked about this now for over a year. I would still prefer, you know,
absent of that and sort of understanding that that is not, I don't think, a possibility. I'd still
prefer Washington football team. We call them the skins and we get the old uniforms back with the
old logo. But look, I felt like watching that Seattle Sunday night game, the Denver Sunday night
game, Denver game, more fun because it was more competitive. The Thanksgiving day game, it did feel
more to me like it wasn't the expansion team that landed here in February of 2022 because that's
what it felt like ever since Jason Wright and his, you know, wingman came in and, you know,
embarrassed everybody with what they developed from a branding name, etc. standpoint.
All right. When we come back, I'll have a smell test for tonight's sweet 16 games. Kevin,
she and show the team 980 and the team 980.com.

Capital one, it'll be a lively, lively setting with St. John's fans, Yukon fans, Michigan state,
Duke. Be interesting to see what that crowd mixes for the first game. It's the first start. It's an
early start. We know what a pain in the, you know, what it is to get to capital one for, you know,
seven o'clockish game that game tips at seven, 10. But good basketball tonight, like last night.
I mean, on paper, all four of these matchups are intriguing for a lot of different reasons.
Duke, St. John's, I'll get to my smell test here in a moment, but St. John's is definitely a
team that wants to turn the game into kind of an ugly defensive game, turnovers,
really force you out of your rhythm, force you out of your offense. They've got some good athletes.
Duke obviously is a team right now with some of their injuries that really is
Cam Boos are driven, but they've got some shooters and Kaden Booser can really play as well.
It wouldn't surprise me if this ends up being sort of 65, 58 somewhere in that range.
But it'll be an interesting matchup. I would think St. John's is super pumped and will have
a big contingent. And if Danny Hurley gets his way and the Big E's teams sort of band together fan-wise,
St. John's could have a little bit of a home court advantage.
Alabama Michigan follows, you know, 30 minutes later out in Chicago. I mean, Alabama's going to shoot
30 something threes. Michigan's so good, though. I really like this Michigan team. I don't think I
like them as much as Arizona. And look, they lost a Purdue in the Big Ten final, but I think
they've got a shot certainly. And I'd be surprised if they don't advance. And I liked Alabama in
the last round against Texas Tech. Michigan State UConn. I mean, Hurley and Izzo, come on. I mean,
whatever the cost is to get in just to see that game would probably be worth it. And then
some people believe the best team other than Arizona or maybe Michigan left in the draw as I was
state. They're playing in Chicago tonight in the last game of the night. Naki mentioned this. It
really set up last night, unfortunately, in which we had both late games tip off at the same time.
There's supposed to be sort of 30 to 35 minutes in between tips. But because of a lot of delays in
the second half of Purdue, Texas, it kind of evened everything up. So you had the two early games
coming down the stretch at the same time and the two late games starting at the same time.
But really good hoops. And it'll set it up for a phenomenal elite eight over the weekend.
Remember, follow me on Twitter at Kevin Shin DC. I'll tweet out the Smeltes picks on Saturday
and Sunday, well in advance of the games tipping. Remember, tomorrow night's first tip isn't until
just after six o'clock. Sunday, I think the first tip is at three something. But anyway,
four tests, I'm sorry, 16 and eight now after two and oh night last night had Arizona last night
and had Illinois. Neither one of those games were sweats. They were easy. Never easy usually.
But last night was so 16 and eight hitting it, you know, 66.66666%
through the tournament so far. So tonight, two sides, I like the favorite Duke. There is a lot of
public action on St. John's, a ton of public action on St. John's. There is, you know, some fluctuation
in the line. I saw seven and a half earlier. I saw seven right now at six and a half across the
board. Gimme Duke, laying the six and a half. That's play number one. And then play number two is
Iowa States, a big public play tonight. That line now, I'm seeing some four and a half's out
there. So I'll take Tennessee plus the four and a half in the night cap. So those are the two
plays. Duke, two favorites tonight. Duke, laying the six and a half. I'm sorry, not two favorites.
Duke, laying the six and a half and the dog, Tennessee plus four and a half. Maybe Jacoby
Gillespie can have a big game tonight against the cyclones. And again, for tomorrow and Sunday,
I'll tweet out the picks at Kevin Sheehan D.C. Duke minus six and a half and then Tennessee,
Tennessee plus the four and a half. Those are the two plays. All of our hoops talk, tournament talk
on team 980 presented by Bud Light, easy to drink, easy to enjoy. All right, we're done for the day,
